We investigate the role of a local $U(1)'$ symmetry for the problem of CP violation in the effective theory for two Higgs doublet models and its microscopic counterparts. First, in two Higgs doublet models with $U(1)'$, we show that the higher-dimensional operators in the scalar potential violate the CP symmetry with an interplay with the mixing mass parameter, giving rise to small mixings between CP-even and CP-odd scalars. Motivated by the $B$-meson anomalies in recent years, we take the flavored $U(1)'$ to be a benchmark model for specifying the flavor structure. Then, we calculate the electric dipole moment of electron (eEDM) at two loops due to the CP-violating higher-dimensional operators and identify the correlation between the masses of heavy Higgs bosons and the cutoff scale from the bound on eEDM. We also comment on the possibility of making an independent test of the CP violation in the collider searches for heavy Higgs bosons. Finally, we show how the obtained eEDM results in the effective theory can be used to constrain microscopic models with an explicit CP violation in the partially decoupled or dark sectors.
We investigate a two Higgs doublet model with extra flavour depending $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry where $Z'$ boson interactions can explain the Atomki anomaly by choosing appropriate charge assignment for the SM fermions. For parameter region explaining the Atomki anomaly we obtain light scalar boson with $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV mass, and we explore scalar sector to search for allowed parameter space. We then discuss anomalous magnetic dipole moment of muon and lepton flavour violating processes induced by Yukawa couplings of our model.
We propose a new framework to generate the Standard Model (SM) quark flavor hierarchies in the context of two Higgs doublet models (2HDM). The `flavorful' 2HDM couples the SM-like Higgs doublet exclusively to the third quark generation, while the first two generations couple exclusively to an additional source of electroweak symmetry breaking, potentially generating striking collider signatures. We synthesize the flavorful 2HDM with the `flavor-locking' mechanism, that dynamically generates large quark mass hierarchies through a flavor-blind portal to distinct flavon and hierarchon sectors: Dy…
The effect of the Gaussian profile of the new Higgs doublet on the radiative lepton flavor violating decay
Recently we presented the upgrade of our code BSMPT for the calculation of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) to BSMPT v2 which now includes the computation of the baryon asymmetry of the universe (BAU) in the CP-violating 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (C2HDM). In this paper we use {\tt BSMPT v2} to investigate the size of the BAU that is obtained in the C2HDM with the two implemented approaches FH and VIA to derive the transport equations, by taking into account all relevant theoretical and experimental constraints. We identify similarities and differences in the results computed with the two me…
We analyze the flavor changing decay $h\rightarrow μτ$ in the framework of a Two Higgs Doublet Model with a fourth generation of fermions (4G2HDM) which couples only to the heavy scalar doublet. We obtain that the respective branching ratio at one-loop level can reach values as high as $ 10^{-4}-10^{-6} $ for masses of $ 300 $ GeV to $ 1 $ TeV for the heavy leptons in the fourth family and the new heavy Higgs bosons. These radiative corrections are of the same order of magnitude as the tree level prediction of the 4G2HDM.
We propose a minimal model which accommodates the long-standing anomaly of muon magnetic moment based on abelian discrete flavor symmetries. The standard model is extended by scalar doublets charged under a $Z_n$ lepton flavor symmetry. In these models, a large contribution to the muon magnetic moment can be obtained by the chirality enhancement from new scalar mediated diagrams without conflicting with the flavor symmetry. Thanks to the lepton flavor symmetry, these models automatically forbid lepton flavor violation. The minimal model is based on $Z_4$ symmetry with only one extra scalar dou…
A two Higgs doublet model with flavorful Yukawa structure, in which the two doublets give mass to the third and the first two generations respectively, is combined with the twin Higgs mechanism to stabilize the Higgs mass against radiative corrections. We consider both a mirror twin and fraternal twin setup. We identify Higgs signal strength measurements and the decay $B_s \to μμ$ as the most important indirect constraints on the parameter space of the model. We explore the collider phenomenology of the model and find that the heavy Higgs in the visible sector can give a sizable number of disp…
We propose a new mechanism to explain neutrino masses with lepton number conservation, in which the Dirac neutrino masses are generated at the two-loop level involving a dark matter candidate. In this model, branching ratios of lepton flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson can be much larger than those of lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons. If lepton flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson are observed at future collider experiments without detecting lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons, most of the models previously proposed for tiny neutrino masses are excl…
The SM-like Higgs pair productions are discussed in the framework of the general CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model, where we find the CP-violating mixing angles can be related to the Higgs self couplings. Therefore, the future experimental searches for Higgs boson pairs can be constrained by the improved precision of the electric dipole moment measurements. Based on a series constraints of the SM-like Higgs boson signal fits, the perturbative unitarity and stability bounds to the Higgs potential, and the most recent LHC searches for the heavy Higgs bosons, we suggest a set of benchmark mode…
We study constraints on light and feebly interacting bosons with lepton flavor violation from electron beam dump experiments. Scalar, vector, and dipole interactions of the bosons are analyzed, respectively, and excluded regions from the searches for decays into electron-positron pairs are derived. It is found that parameter regions unconstrained by flavor violating decays of muon can be excluded using the results of the E137 experiment. We also discuss the impact of the search for flavor violating decays of the light bosons in electron beam dump experiments.
