We construct the field of an arbitrarily accelerating and rotating point mass which specializes to the Kerr solution when the acceleration vanishes and specializes to Kinnersley's arbitrarily accelerating point mass when the rotation vanishes.
Explicit expressions for the quasi-Kinnersley tetrad for the quasi-Kerr metric are given. These provide a very clear and simple example of the quasi-Kinnersley tetrad, and may be useful in the future development of a `quasi-Teukolsky' scheme for the analysis of perturbation equations in spacetimes which are Petrov type I but in some sense close to type D.
The Hawking radiation of Dirac particles in an arbitrarily rectilinearly accelerating Kinnersley black hole is studied by using a method of the generalized tortoise coordinate transformation. Both the location and the temperature of the event horizon depend on the time and polar angle. The Hawking thermal radiation spectrum of Dirac particles is also derived. The Hawking radiation of Weyl neutrinos in an arbitrarily accelerating Kinnersley black hole is investigated by using a method of the generalized tortoise coordinate transformation. Both the location and temperature of the event horizon depend on the time and on the angles. They coincide with previous results, but the thermal radiation spectrum of massless spinor particles displays a kind of spin-acceleration coupling effect.
Quantum thermal effect of Weyl neutrinos in a rectilinearly non-uniformly accelerating Kinnersley black hole is investigated by using the generalized tortoise coordinate transformation. The equation that determines the location, the Hawking temperature of the event horizon and the thermal radiation spectrum of neutrinos are derived. Our results show that the location and the temperature of the event horizon depend not only on the time but also on the angle.
Quantum thermal effect of Dirac particles in an arbitrarily accelerating Kinnersley black hole is investigated by using the method of generalized tortoise coordinate transformation. Both the location and the temperature of the event horizon depend on the advanced time and the angles. The Hawking thermal radiation spectrum of Dirac particles contains a new term which represents the interaction between particles with spin and black holes with acceleration. This spin-acceleration coupling effect is absent from the thermal radiation spectrum of scalar particles.
The Teukolsky formalism of black hole perturbation theory describes weak gravitational radiation generated by a mildly dynamical hole near equilibrium. A particular null tetrad of the background Kerr geometry, due to Kinnersley, plays a singularly important role within this formalism. In order to apply the rich physical intuition of Teukolsky's approach to the results of fully non-linear numerical simulations, one must approximate this Kinnersley tetrad using raw numerical data, with no a priori knowledge of a background. This paper addresses this issue by identifying the directions of the tet…
The spacetimes for Vaidya's radiating stellar exterior and Kinnersley's photon rocket in a cosmological background are obtained by performing the same conformal transformation as is used to obtain the Robertson-Walker metric from Minkowski spacetime. In the case of the cosmological radiating stellar exterior, a two-fluid solution is found that obeys all of the energy conditions and consists of a null fluid and a perfect fluid that asymptotically falls off to the standard cosmological values for pressure and density at infinite radius. For the cosmological photon rocket, the massless case is fi…
Stationary axisymmetric systems of two extreme Kerr sources separated by a massless strut, which arise as subfamilies of the well-known Kinnersley-Chitre solution, are studied. We present explicit analytical formulas for the individual masses and angular momenta of the constituents and establish the range of the parameters for which such systems can be regarded as describing black holes. The mass-angular momentum relations and the interaction force in the black-hole configurations are also analyzed. Furthermore, we construct a charging generalization of the Kinnersley-Chitre metric and, as app…
Algebraically special fields with no gravitational radiation are described. Kerr-Schild fields, which include as a concrete case the Kinnersley photon rocket, form an important subclass of them.
The Hawking radiation of Dirac particles in an arbitrarily rectilinearly accelerating Kinnersley black hole with electro-magnetic charge and cosmological constant is investigated by using method of the generalized tortoise coordinate transformation. Both the location and the temperature of the event horizon depend on the time and the polar angle. The Hawking thermal radiation spectrum of Dirac particles is also derived. According to Kerr/CFT correspondence, some aspects of extremal and non-extremal Kerr black holes could be explained by using a 2D CFT. This paper is devoted to show how Kerr/CFT correspondence can work for the slowly accelerating Kerr black holes, in both extremal and non-extremal cases. The equation of motion for low frequency scalar probes in the near region possesses the "hidden" conformal symmetry, similar to that of the non-accelerating version. Assuming a particular value of associated central charge, Cardy formula in 2D CFT can recover the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for the black hole u…
A class of exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations is presented which describes an accelerating and rotating charged black hole in an asymptotically de Sitter or anti-de Sitter universe. The metric is presented in a new and convenient form in which the meaning of the parameters is clearly identified, and from which the physical properties of the solution can readily be interpreted.

The near horizon geometry of the rotating C-metric, describing accelerating Kerr-Newman black holes, is analysed. It is shown that, at extremality, even though not it is isomorphic to the extremal Kerr-Newman, it remains a warped and twisted product of $AdS_2 \times S^2$. Therefore the methods of the Kerr/CFT correspondence can successfully be applied to build a CFT dual model, whose entropy reproduce, through the Cardy formula, the Beckenstein-Hawking entropy of the accelerating black hole. The mass of accelerating Kerr-Newman black hole, which fulfil the first law of thermodynamics, is prese…
We investigate the stable circular orbits of the spinning test particles around the accelerating Kerr black hole on the equatorial plane. To this end, we first calculate the equations of motion and analyze the parameter space for the particles. We study the effect of the particle's spin and the black hole's acceleration on the conserved angular momentum, conserved energy and radius of the spinning test particle on the innermost stable circular orbit. We find that the effect of the particle's spin on the orbit parameters is almost linear, the effect of the black hole's acceleration on those par…
An accelerated boundary correspondence (i.e. a flat spacetime accelerating mirror trajectory) is derived for the Kerr spacetime, with a general formula that ranges from the Schwarzschild limit (zero angular momentum) to the extreme maximal spin case (yielding asymptotic uniform acceleration). The beta Bogoliubov coefficients reveal the particle spectrum is a Planck distribution at late times with temperature cooler than a Schwarzschild black hole, due to the "spring constant" analog of angular momentum. The quantum stress tensor indicates a constant emission of energy flux at late times consis…
This first part of the series treats the Maxwell equations in the exterior of a slowly rotating Kerr black hole. By performing a first-order differential operator on each extreme Newman-Penrose (N-P) scalar in a Kinnersley tetrad, the resulting equation and the Teukolsky master equation for the extreme N-P component are both in the form of an inhomogeneous \textquotedblleft{spin-weighted Fackerell-Ipser equation\textquotedblright} (SWFIE) and constitute a weakly coupled system. We first prove energy estimate and integrated local energy decay (Morawetz) estimate for this type of inhomogeneous S…
The curvature scalar invariants of the Riemann tensor are important in General Relativity because they allow a manifestly coordinate invariant characterisation of certain geometrical properties of spacetimes such as, among others, curvature singularities, gravitomagnetism. We calculate explicit analytic expressions for the set of Zakhary-McIntosh curvature invariants for accelerating Kerr-Newman black holes in (anti-)de Sitter spacetime as well as for the Kerr-Newman-(anti-)de Sitter black hole. These black hole metrics belong to the most general type D solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equatio…
We first review the accelerating, rotating and charged Plebanski-Demianski (PD) black hole, which includes the Kerr-Newman rotating black hole and the Taub-NUT spacetime. The main feature of this black hole is that it has 4 horizons like event horizon, Cauchy horizon and two accelerating horizons. In the non-extremal case, the surface area, entropy, surface gravity, temperature, angular velocity, Komar energy and irreducible mass on the event horizon and Cauchy horizon are presented for PD black hole. The entropy product, temperature product, Komar energy product and irreducible mass product a…
Various aspects of the C-metric representing two rotating charged black holes accelerated in opposite directions are summarized and its limits are considered. A particular attention is paid to the special-relativistic limit in which the electromagnetic field becomes the "magic field" of two oppositely accelerated rotating charged relativistic discs. When the acceleration vanishes the usual electromagnetic magic field of the Kerr-Newman black hole with gravitational constant set to zero arises. Properties of the accelerated discs and the fields produced are studied and illustrated graphically. …
We systematically investigate axisymmetric extremal isolated horizons (EIHs) defined by vanishing surface gravity, corresponding to zero temperature. In the first part, using the Newman-Penrose and GHP formalism we derive the most general metric function for such EIHs in the Einstein-Maxwell theory, which complements the previous result of Lewandowski and Pawlowski. We prove that it depends on 5 independent parameters, namely deficit angles on the north and south poles of a spherical-like section of the horizon, its radius (area), and total electric and magnetic charges of the black hole. The …
Using the covariant phase space formalism, we compute the conserved charges for a solution, describing an accelerating and electrically charged Reissner-Nordstrom black hole. The metric is regular provided that the acceleration is driven by an external electric field, in spite of the usual string of the standard C-metric. The Smarr formula and the first law of black hole thermodynamics are fulfilled. The resulting mass has the same form of the Christodoulou-Ruffini mass formula. On the basis of these results, we can extrapolate the mass and thermodynamics of the rotating C-metric, which descri…
