The work concerns the superposition between the Zakai equations and the Fokker-Planck equations on measure spaces. First, we prove a superposition principle for the Fokker-Planck equations on $\mR^\mN$ under the integrable condition. And then by means of it, we show two superposition principles for the weak solutions of the Zakai equations from the nonlinear filtering problems and the weak solutions of the Fokker-Planck equations on measure spaces. As a by-product, we give some weak conditions under which the Fokker-Planck equations can be solved in the weak sense.
We investigate the regularity of the law of Wong-Zakai-type approximations for Itô stochastic differential equations. These approximations solve random differential equations where the diffusion coefficient is Wick-multiplied by the smoothed white noise. Using a criteria based on the Malliavin calculus we establish absolute continuity and a Fokker-Planck-type equation solved in the distributional sense by the density. The parabolic smoothing effect typical of the solutions of Itô equations is lacking in this approximated framework; therefore, in order to prove absolute continuity, the initial …
The work concerns the space-distribution dependent Zakai equations from nonlinear filtering problems of McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with correlated noises. First of all, we establish the space-distribution dependent Kushner-Stratonovich equations and the space-distribution dependent Zakai equations. Then, the pathwise uniqueness of their strong solutions is shown. Finally, we prove a superposition principle between the space-distribution dependent Zakai equations and space-distribution dependent Fokker-Planck equations. As a by-product, we give some conditions under which s…
In a recent article Lanconelli and Scorolli (2021) extended to the multidimensional case a Wong-Zakai-type approximation for Itô stochastic differential equations proposed by \Oksendal and Hu (1996). The aim of the current paper is to extend the latter result to system of stochastic differential equations of Itô type driven by fractional Brownian motion (fBm) like those considered by Hu (2018). The covariance structure of the fBm precludes us from using the same approach as that used by Lanconelli and Scorolli and instead we employ a truncated Cameron-Martin expansion as the approximation for …
We prove a version of the Ambrosio-Figalli-Trevisan superposition principle for a restricted subclass of solutions to the Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation, that is valid on separable infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. Furthermore, we transfer this restricted superposition principle into a nonlinear setting.
We prove the superposition principle for probability measure-valued solutions to non-local Fokker-Planck equations, which in turn yields the equivalence between martingale problems for SDEs with jumps and such non-local PDEs with rough coefficients. As an application, we obtain a probabilistic representation for weak solutions of fractional porous media equations.
We prove a superposition principle for nonlinear Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equations on Euclidean spaces and their corresponding linearized first-order continuity equation over the space of Borel (sub-)probability measures. As a consequence, we obtain equivalence of existence and uniqueness results for these equations. Moreover, we prove an analogous result for stochastically perturbed Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equations. To do so, we particularly show that such stochastic equations for measures are, similarly to the deterministic case, intrinsically related to linearized second-order equations …
We extend to the multidimensional case a Wong-Zakai-type theorem proved by Hu and Øksendal in [7] for scalar quasi-linear Itô stochastic differential equations (SDEs). More precisely, with the aim of approximating the solution of a quasilinear system of Itô's SDEs, we consider for any finite partition of the time interval $[0,T]$ a system of differential equations, where the multidimensional Brownian motion is replaced by its polygonal approximation and the product between diffusion coefficients and smoothed white noise is interpreted as a Wick product. We remark that in the one dimensional ca…
We prove a generalization of the known result of Trevisan on the Ambrosio-Figalli-Trevisan superposition principle for probability solutions to the Cauchy problem for the Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation, according to which such a solution is generated by a solution to the corresponding martingale problem. The novelty is that in place of the integrability of the diffusion and drift coefficients $A$ and $b$ with respect to the solution we require the integrability of $(\|A(t,x)\|+|\langle b(t,x),x\rangle |)/(1+|x|^2)$. Therefore, in the case where there are no a priori global integrability con…
We consider the Fokker--Planck equations with irregular coefficients. Two different cases are treated: in the degenerate case, the coefficients are assumed to be weakly differentiable, while in the non-degenerate case the drift satisfies only the Ladyzhenskaya--Prodi--Serrin condition. Using Trevisan's superposition principle which represents the solution as the marginal of the solution to the martingale problem of the diffusion operator, we establish quantitative stability estimates for the solutions of Fokker--Planck equations.
We construct weak solutions to a class of distribution dependent SDE, of type $dX(t)=b\left( X(t), \displaystyle\frac{d\mathcal{L}_{X(t)}}{dx}(X(t))\right) dt+σ\left( X(t),\displaystyle\frac{d\mathcal{L}_{X(t)}}{dt}(X(t))\right) dW(t)$ for possibly degenerate diffusion matrices $σ$ with $X(0)$ having a given law, which has a density with respect to Lebesgue measure, $dx$. Here ${\mathcal{L}}_{X(t)}$ denotes the law of $X(t)$. Our approach is to first solve the corresponding nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations and then use the well known superposition principle to obtain weak solutions of the abo…

The classical stochastic control problem under partial information can be formulated as a control problem for Zakai equation, whose solution is the unnormalized conditional probability distribution of the state of the system. Zakai equation is a stochastic Fokker-Planck equation. Therefore, the problem to be solved is similar to that met in Mean Field Control theory. Since Mean Field Control theory is much posterior to the development of Stochastic Control with partial information, the tools, techniques, and concepts obtained in the last decade, for Mean Field Games and Mean field type Control…
This work concerns a type of coupled McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (MVSDEs in short) with jumps. First, we prove superposition principles for these coupled MVSDEs with jumps and non-local space-distribution dependent Fokker-Planck equations. Since superposition principles are related to the well-posedness of weak solutions for coupled MVSDEs with jumps, then we give some conditions to assure it. After this, we construct space-distribution valued Markov processes associated with these coupled MVSDEs with jumps. Finally, the ergodicity of these coupled MVSDEs with jumps are inv…
We consider conditional McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (SDEs), such as the ones arising in the large-system limit of mean field games and particle systems with mean field interactions when common noise is present. The conditional time-marginals of the solutions to these SDEs satisfy non-linear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) of the second order, whereas the laws of the conditional time-marginals follow Fokker-Planck equations on the space of probability measures. We prove two superposition principles: The first establishes that any solution of the SPDE can be…
We propose a dimensionality reduction method for infinite-dimensional measure-valued evolution equations such as the Fokker-Planck partial differential equation or the Kushner-Stratonovich resp. Duncan-Mortensen-Zakai stochastic partial differential equations of nonlinear filtering, with potential applications to signal processing, quantitative finance, heat flows and quantum theory among many other areas. Our method is based on the projection coming from a duality argument built in the exponential statistical manifold structure developed by G. Pistone and co-authors. The choice of the finite …
