英文摘要：

A summary of the QM19 conference is given by highlighting a few selected results. These are discussed as examples to illustrate the exciting future of heavy-ion collisions and the need for further instrumentation. (The arXiv version is significantly longer than the printed proceedings, with more figures.)

Goldstone boson-nucleon dynamics: Working group summary and outlook

We highlight some of the recent results in chiral dynamics for systems with one nucleon/baryon presented at Chiral Dynamics 2000. We outline the most urgent experimental and theoretical challenges to be tackled in the coming years.

Puzzles, Progress, Prospects: pre-Summary for the Quark Matter 2009 Conference

The new millennium's qualitative advances in relativistic heavy ion physics are in part due to, and are in part causing, a new appreciation for quantitative rigor in both experimental and theoretical work in the field. In these proceedings for the conference-opening "pre-Summary" talk I present an annotated guide to the figures and points made in my talk.

The Way Forward - Closing Remarks at Quark Matter 2017

This contribution is a written version of my closing talk presented at the Quark Matter 2017 conference. Neither the talk nor this contribution to the conference proceedings is intended as a comprehensive summary. Rather, a brief discussion is presented of emerging themes and challenges in the field of relativistic heavy ion physics.

Conference on the Intersections of Particle and Nuclear Physics 2003: Relativistic Heavy Ion Parallel Session Summary

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) came online in 2000, and the last three years have provided a wealth of new experimental data and theoretical work in this new energy frontier for nuclear physics. The transition from quarks and gluons bound into hadrons to a deconfined quark-gluon plasma is expected to occur at these energies, and the effort to understand the time evolution of these complex systems has been significantly advanced. The heavy ion parallel session talks from the Conference on the Intersections of Particle and Nuclear Physics (CIPANP) 2003 are posted at: http://www.pheni…
