We study the effect of magnetic field on heavy quark-antiquark pair in both Einstein-Maxwell(EM) and Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton(EMD) model. The interquark distance, free energy, entropy, binding energy and internal energy of the heavy quarkonium are calculated. It is found that the free energy suppresses and the entropy increases quickly with the increase of the magnetic field $B$. The binding energy vanishes at smaller distance when increasing the magnetic field, which indicates the quark-antiquark pair dissociates at smaller distance. The internal energy which consists of free energy and entropy will increase at large separating distance for non-vanishing magnetic field. These conclusions are consistent both in the EM and EMD model. Moreover, we also find that the quarkonium will dissociate easier in the parallel direction than that in the transverse direction for EMD model, but the conclusion is opposite in EM model. Lattice results are in favor of EMD model. Besides, a Coulomb-plus-linear potential(Cornell potential) can be realized only in EMD model. Thus, a dilaton field is proved to be important in holographic model. Finally, we also show that the free energy, entropy and internal energy of a single quark in EMD model with the presence of magnetic field.
We report on a recent QCD based research on hybrid mesons containing $c\bar c$ or $b\bar b$ quarks. We present results for the spectrum, the decay widths to heavy quarkonium, and the role of mixing with the latter. We point out that mixing with heavy quarkonium provides a potentially large source of spin symmetry breaking. We identify candidates to hybrid mesons among the so called XYZ states in the charmonium and bottomonium spectrum.
The value of quarkonium wave function at the origin is an important quantity while studying many physical problems concerning a heavy quarkonium. This is because that it is widely used to evaluate the production and decay amplitudes of the heavy quarkonium within the effective filed theory framework, e.g., the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). In this paper, the value of the Schr${\rm \ddot{o}}$dinger radial wave function or its first nonvanishing derivative at zero quark-antiquark separation, i.e., $|(|c\bar{c})[n]\rangle$-, $|(|b\bar{c})[n]\rangle$-, and $|(b\bar{b})[n]\rangle$-quarkonium, have …
A calculation of the melting temperatures of heavy quarkonium states with the holographic potential was introduced in a previous work. In this paper, we consider the holographic potential at sub-leading order, which permits finite coupling corrections to be taken into account. It is found that this correction lowers the dissociation temperatures of heavy quarkonium.
By employing the differential equations, we compute analytically the elliptic sectors of two-loop master integrals appearing in the NNLO QCD corrections to CP-even heavy quarkonium exclusive production and decays, which turns out to be the last and toughest part in the relevant calculation. The integrals are found can be expressed as Goncharov polylogarithms and iterative integrals over elliptic functions. The master integrals may be applied to some other NNLO QCD calculations about heavy quarkonium exclusive production, like $γ^*γ\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}$, $e^+e^-\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$,~and~$H/…
FDCHQHP is a Fortran package to calculate the transverse momentum (p_t) distribution of yield and polarization for heavy quarkonium hadroproduction at next-to-leading-order (NLO) based on non-relativistic QCD(NRQCD) framework. It contains the complete color-singlet and color-octet intermediate states in present theoretical level, and is available to calculate different polarization parameters in different frames. As the LHC running now and in the future, it supplies a very useful tool to obtain theoretical prediction on the heavy quarkonium hadroproduction.
We report on recent theory progress in understanding the production of heavy quarkonium in heavy-ion collisions based on the in-medium heavy-quark potential extracted from lattice QCD simulations. On the one hand, the proper in-medium potential allows us to study the spectral properties of heavy quarkonium in thermal equilibrium, from which we estimate the $ψ^\prime$ to $J/ψ$ ratio in heavy-ion collisions. On the other hand, the potential provides a central ingredient in the description of the real-time evolution of heavy-quarkonium formulated in the open-quantum-systems framework.
Heavy quarkonium production in the framework of the nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics and leading order of the parton Reggeization approach at the Tevatron and LHC Colliders is discussed. The new results, which are reviewed in this report, include the comparison with recent data on chi_{c1,c2} production from ATLAS Collaboration and special discussion of heavy quarkonium polarization issues in the considered framework.
In this paper, we calculate the mass spectra of heavy quarkonium by using matrix Numerov's method to make the predictions of F and G states for further experiments. The method gives a very reasonable result which is in a good agreement with other methods and with recently published theoretical data. From the yielded wave functions we calculate the root mean square radius r_ms and \b{eta} coefficients of heavy quarkonium
Based on the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics (NRQCD), we calculate the production cross section for the charmonium and the bottomonium produced by the hard photoproduction processes and fragmentation processes in relativistic heavy ion collisions. It is shown that the existing experimental data on heavy quarkonium production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can be described in the framework of the NRQCD formalism, and the phenomenological values of matrix elements for color-singlet and color-octet components give the main contribution. The numerical results …
We explore polarized heavy quarkonium production using the color evaporation model at leading order. We present the polarized to total yield ratio as a function of center of mass energy and rapidity in $p+p$ collisions. At energies far above the $Q \overline Q$ production threshold, we find charmonium and bottomonium production to be longitudinally polarized ($J_z=0$). The quarkonium states are also longitudinally polarized at central rapidity, becoming transversely polarized ($J_z=\pm1$) at the most forward rapidities.
Study of the polarized heavy quarkonium production in recently proposed QCD factorization formalism requires knowledge of a large number of input fragmentation functions (FFs) from a single parton or a heavy quark-antiquark pair to a polarized heavy quarkonium. In this paper, we calculate these FFs at the input scale in terms of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization. We derive all relevant polarized NRQCD long-distance matrix elements based symmetries and propose a self-consistent scheme to define them in arbitrary $d$ dimensions. We then calculate polarized input FFs contributed from all …
The nuclear suppression of heavy quarkonium production at low transverse momentum in pA collisions in high energy scatterings is investigated in the small-x factorization formalism. A universal suppression is found in the large Nc limit between the two formalisms to describe the heavy quarkonium production: the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) and the color-evaporation model (CEM). This provides an important probe to the saturation momentum at small-x in big nucleus. We also comment on the phenomenological applications of our results.
In this article, we study the radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with the covariant light-front quark model. In calculations, we observe that the radiative decay widths are sensitive to the constituent quark masses and the shape parameters of the wave-functions, and reproduce the experimental data with suitable parameters.
By employing the method of differential equations, we compute the various types of two-loop master integrals involved in CP-even heavy quarkonium exclusive production and decays. All the integrals presented in this paper can be casted into canonical forms and expressed in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms and Harmonic polylogarithms. These master integrals are frequently used in the calculation of NNLO corrections of the heavy quarkonium production processes, as $γ^*γ\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}$, $e^+e^-\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$, and $H/Z^0\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$, and decay processes. They are also a…
Non-relativistic bound state theories for QED and QCD have become fairly mature and amenable to a textbook-level understanding and computation. In this talk we give an introductory review of the following subjects related to the recent computation of the heavy quarkonium spectrum using perturbative QCD: (1) Technological developments in higher-order computation, (2) Physics predictions, (3) Challenge towards analytic evaluation of the 3-loop static QCD potential.
In this paper we solved Schrödinger equation with Song-Lin potential by using Asymptotic Iteration Method (AIM). We obtained spin-averaged energy levels of charmonium and bottomonium via AIM. Obtained results agree well with available experimental data and other theoretical studies.
We study radiative decays of heavy $Q{\bar Q}$ states, both for $Q=c$ and $Q=b$, using an effective Lagrangian approach which exploits spin symmetry for such states. We use existing data on radiative quarkonium transitions to predict some unmeasured decay rates. We also discuss how these modes can be useful to understand the structure of X(3872).
We present a recent calculation of $J/ψ$ and $Υ$ production in unpolarized $pp$ collision and show that this can be used to probe the unpolarized gluon as well as the linearly polarized gluon transverse momentum dependent parton distributions (TMDs). We use the color evaporation model for the heavy quarkonium production and use a generalized factorized form of the cross section. We compare the results with experimental data.
We propose a systematic, model-independent treatment of electric dipole transitions of heavy quarkonium. Within an effective field theory, concretely potential non-relativistic QCD, the relativistic corrections of relative order $v^2$ to the decay rate are derived. An existing formalism developed for M1 decays will be extended for our purpose. We scrutinize and complement former results from potential model calculations.
In this paper, the quark distribution amplitudes of 1S and 2S heavy quarkonium states are studied in terms of Gaussian-type wave functions. The transverse momenta $p_\perp$ integrals of the formulae for the decay constant are performed analytically. Then the quark distribution amplitudes are obtained. In addition, the $ξ$-moments are also calculated. After fixing the relevant parameters appearing in the quark distribution amplitude, the curves of the quark distribution amplitude for 1S and 2S heavy quarkonium states are plotted. Finally, the numerical results of this approach are compared with…
