The structure of hybrid stars within the nonperturbative framework of the field correlator method, extended to zero-temperature limit as a quark model, has been studied. For the hadronic sector, we have used the lowest-order constraint variational method by employing AV18 two-body nucleon-nucleon interaction supplemented by the phenomenological Urbana-type three-body force. For an adapted value of the gluon condensate, G2 = 0:006 GeV4, which gives the critical temperature of about Tc ? 170 MeV, stable hybrid stars with a maximum mass of 2:04M? are predicted. The stability of hybrid star has been investigated for a wide range of gluon condensate value, G2, and quark-antiquark potential, V1. A hybrid equation of state fulfills the constraints on tidal deformability and hence on the radii of the stars, extracted from the binary GW170817. Moreover, tidal deformability for different chirp masses and different binary mass ratios of hybrid stars have been studied. The mass-radius relation satisfies the new constraint obtained from the neutron star interior composition explorer (NICER). A comprehensive analysis on the structure of a hybrid star and also its compactness, tidal Love number, and tidal deformability has been conducted for several parameter sets of the quark equation of state. The influence of different crustal equations of state on the mentioned quantities has been studied. Our calculations suggest the value of quark-antiquark potential, V1, to be around 0.08 GeV. The results achieved in this study are in strong concurrence with the other calculations reported on this subject.
With a interpolation method on the P-$μ$ plane, a hybrid equation of state is explored. The quark phase is described by our newly developed self-consistent two-flavor Nambu$-$Jona-Lasinio model. It retains the contribution from the vector channel in the Fierz-transformed Lagrangian by introducing a weighting parameter $α$ [Chin. Phys. C \textbf{43}, 084102 (2019)]. In the hadron phase we use the relativistic mean-field theory. We study the dependence of hybrid EOS and mass-radius relation on $α$. It is found that increasing $α$ makes the hybrid EOS softer in the medium pressure. We can get ste…
Motivated by events in which black holes can lose their environment due to tidal interactions in a binary system, we develop a waveform model in which the tidal deformability interpolates between a finite value (dressed black hole) at relatively low frequency and a zero value (naked black hole) at high frequency. We then apply this model to the example case of a black hole dressed with an ultralight scalar field and investigate the detectability of the tidal Love number with the Einstein Telescope. We show that the parameters of the tidal deformability model could be measured with high accurac…
The concept of boson stars (BSs) was first introduced by Kaup and Ruffini-Bonazzola in the 1960s. Following this idea, we investigate an effect of self-interacting asymmetric bosonic dark matter (DM) according to Colpi et al. model for BSs (1986) on different observable properties of neutron stars (NSs). In this paper, the bosonic DM and baryonic matter (BM) are mixed together and interact only through gravitational force. The presence of DM as a core of a compact star or as an extended halo around it is examined by applying different boson masses and DM fractions for a fixed coupling constant…
The deformability of a compact object under the presence of a tidal perturbation is encoded in the tidal Love numbers (TLNs), which vanish for isolated black holes in vacuum. We show that the TLNs of black holes surrounded by matter fields do not vanish and can be used to probe the environment around binary black holes. In particular, we compute the TLNs for the case of a black hole surrounded by a scalar condensate under the presence of scalar and vector tidal perturbations, finding a strong power-law behavior of the TLN in terms of the mass of the scalar field. Using this result as a proxy f…
In this work we consider strange stars formed by quark matter in the color-flavor-locked (CFL) phase of color superconductivity. The CFL phase is described by a Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with four-fermion vector and diquark interaction channels. The effect of the color superconducting medium on the gluons are incorporated into the model by including the gluon self-energy in the thermodynamic potential. We construct parametrizations of the model by varying the vector coupling $G_V$ and comparing the results to the data on tidal deformability from the GW170817 event, the observational data on max…
We study the tidal deformability of bare quark stars and hybrid compact stars composed of a quark matter core in general relativity, assuming that the deconfined quark matter exists in a crystalline color superconducting phase. We find that taking the elastic property of crystalline quark matter into account in the calculation of the tidal deformability can break the universal I-Love relation discovered for fluid compact stars, which connects the moment of inertia and tidal deformability. Our result suggests that measurements of the moment of inertia and tidal deformability can in principle be…
We study an impact of asymmetric fermionic dark matter on neutron star properties, including tidal deformability, mass, radius, etc. We present the conditions at which dark matter particles tend to form a compact structure in a core of the star or create an extended halo around it. We show that compact core of dark matter leads to a decrease of the total gravitational mass and tidal deformability compared to a pure baryonic star, while presence of a dark matter halo increases those observable quantities. By imposing an existing astrophysical and gravitational wave constraints set by LIGO/Virgo…
We estimate the accuracy in the measurement of the tidal Love number of a supermassive compact object through the detection of an extreme mass ratio inspiral~(EMRI) by the future LISA mission. A nonzero Love number would be a smoking gun for departures from the classical black hole prediction of General Relativity. We find that an EMRI detection by LISA could set constraints on the tidal Love number of a spinning central object with dimensionless spin $\hat a=0.9$ ($\hat a=0.99$) which are approximately four (six) orders of magnitude more stringent than what achievable with current ground-base…
We investigate the possible sequels, for the hybrid compact stars consisting of nucleons, hyperons and three flavour color-flavor-locked quarks phase under global neutrality and chemical equilibrium conditions. The hadron equations of state are computed within the framework of energy density functionals based on the relativistic mean field theory by employing two different model parameterizations. The quarks matter phase of equation of state is computed by using Quarks Quasiparticle model derived from a non-relativistic energy density-functional approach. A plausible set of hybrid equations of…
We inspect the possibility that neutron star interiors are a mixture of ordinary matter and mirror dark matter. This is a scenario that can be naturally envisaged according to well studied accretion mechanisms, including the Bondi-Hoyle one. We show that the inclusion of mirror dark matter in neutron star models lowers the maximum neutron star mass for a given equation of state, and that it decreases the tidal deformability of a given neutron star. These general features imply that, given an equation of state, one can constrain the maximum viable amount of mirror dark matter in neutron stars i…
The LIGO/Virgo detection of gravitational waves originating from a neutron-star merger, GW170817, has recently provided new stringent limits on the tidal deformabilities of the stars involved in the collision. Combining this measurement with the existence of two-solar-mass stars, we generate a generic family of neutron-star-matter Equations of State (EoSs) that interpolate between state-of-the-art theoretical results at low and high baryon density. Comparing the results to ones obtained without the tidal-deformability constraint, we witness a dramatic reduction in the family of allowed EoSs. B…
The agreement of the nuclear equation of state (EoS) deduced from the GW170817 based tidal deformability with the one obtained from empirical data on microscopic nuclei is examined. It is found that suitably chosen experimental data on isoscalar and isovector modes of nuclear excitations together with the observed maximum neutron star mass constrain the EoS which displays a very good congruence with the GW170817 inspired one. The giant resonances in nuclei are found to be instrumental in limiting the tidal deformability parameter and the radius of neutron star in somewhat narrower bounds. At t…
Recently, it was shown that quark matter with only $u$ and $d$ quarks ($ud$QM) can be the ground state of matter for baryon numbers $A>A_\textrm{min}$ with $A_{\rm min}\gtrsim 300$. In this paper, we explore $ud$ quark stars ($ud$QSs) that are composed of $ud$QM, in the context of the two-families scenario in which $ud$QSs and hadronic stars (HSs) can coexist. Distinct signatures are discussed compared to the conventional study regarding strange quark stars (SQSs). We show that the requirements of $A_{\rm min}\gtrsim 300$ and the most massive compact star observed being a $ud$QS together may p…
We confront admixture of dark matter inside neutron star using gravitational wave constraints coming from binary neutron star merger. We consider a relativistic mean field model including $σ-ω-ρ$ meson interaction with NL3 parameterization. We study fermionic dark matter interacting with nucleonic matter via Higgs portal mechanism. We show that admixture of dark matter inside the neutron star soften the equation state and lower the value of tidal deformability. Gravitational wave GW170817 observation puts an upper bound on tidal deformability of a binary neutron star with low spin prior at 90\…
We study the impact of the fermion vacuum term in the SU(3) quark meson model on the equation of state and determine the vacuum parameters for various sigma meson masses. We examine its influence on the equation of state and on the resulting mass radius relations for compact stars. The tidal deformability $Λ$ of the stars is studied and compared to the results of the mean field approximation. Parameter sets which fulfill the tidal deformability bounds of GW170817 together with the observed two solar mass limit turn out to be restricted to a quite small parameter range in the mean field approxi…
