New representations for an integral kernel of the transmutation operator and for a regular solution of the perturbed Bessel equation of the form $-u^{\prime\prime}+\left(\frac{\ell(\ell+1)}{x^{2}}+q(x)\right)u=ω^{2}u$ are obtained. The integral kernel is represented as a Fourier-Jacobi series. The solution is represented as a Neumann series of Bessel functions uniformly convergent with respect to $ω$. For the coefficients of the series convenient for numerical computation recurrent integration formulas are obtained. The new representation improves the ones from arXiv:1609.06679 and arXiv:1712.01363 for large values of $ω$ and $\ell$ and for non-integer values of $\ell$.
The results are based on application of several ideas from the classical transmutation (transformation) operator theory, asymptotic formulas for the solution, results connecting the decay rate of the Fourier transform with the smoothness of a function, the Paley-Wiener theorem and some results from constructive approximation theory.
We show that the analytical representation obtained among other possible applications offers a simple and efficient numerical method able to compute large sets of eigendata with a nondeteriorating accuracy.
A representation for the kernel of the transmutation operator relating the perturbed Bessel equation with the unperturbed one is obtained in the form of a functional series with coefficients calculated by a recurrent integration procedure. New properties of the transmutation kernel are established. A new representation of the regular solution of the perturbed Bessel equation is given presenting a remarkable feature of uniform error bound with respect to the spectral parameter for partial sums of the series. A numerical illustration of application to the solution of Dirichlet spectral problems …
In the paper we study applications of integral transforms composition method (ITCM) for obtaining transmutations via integral transforms. It is possible to derive wide range of transmutation operators by this method. Classical integral transforms are involved in the integral transforms composition method (ITCM) as basic blocks, among them are Fourier, sine and cosine-Fourier, Hankel, Mellin, Laplace and some generalized transforms. The ITCM and transmutations obtaining by it are applied to deriving connection formulas for solutions of singular differential equations and more simple non-singula…
In the paper we find solution representations in the compact integral form to the Cauchy problem for a general form of the Euler--Poisson--Darboux equation with Bessel operators via generalized translation and spherical mean operators for all values of the parameter $k$, including also not studying before exceptional odd negative values. We use a Hankel transform method to prove results in a unified way. Under additional conditions we prove that a distributional solution is a classical one too. A transmutation property for connected generalized spherical mean is proved and importance of applyi…
The inverse quantum scattering problem for the perturbed Bessel equation is considered. A direct and practical method for solving the problem is proposed. It allows one to reduce the inverse problem to a system of linear algebraic equations, and the potential is recovered from the first component of the solution vector of the system. The approach is based on a special form Fourier-Jacobi series representation for the transmutation operator kernel and the Gelfand-Levitan equation which serves for obtaining the system of linear algebraic equations. The convergence and stability of the method are…
In this paper, we study the singularly perturbed Laguerre unitary ensemble $$ \frac{1}{Z_n} (\det M)^αe^{- \textrm{tr}\, V_t(M)}dM, \qquad α>0, $$ with $V_t(x) = x + t/x$, $x\in (0,+\infty)$ and $t>0$. Due to the effect of $t/x$ for varying $t$, the eigenvalue correlation kernel has a new limit instead of the usual Bessel kernel at the hard edge 0. This limiting kernel involves $ψ$-functions associated with a special solution to a new third-order nonlinear differential equation, which is then shown equivalent to a particular Painlevé III equation. The transition of this limiting kernel to the …
In this paper we obtain a set of five new transmutations of the mother formula. Further, we obtain the second set of ten exact metafunctional equations by crossbreeding on every two elements of the previous set. Elements of the last set represent a kind of synergetic formulae describing cooperative interactions between corresponding sets of values of basic classical functions.
The main content of this book is composed from two doctoral theses: by V.\,V.~Katrakhov (1989) and by S.\,M.~Sitnik (2016). In our work, for the first time in the format of a monograph, we systematically expound the theory of transmutation operators and their applications to differential equations with singularities in coefficients, in particular, with Bessel operators. Along with detailed survey and bibliography on this theory, the book contains original results of the authors. Significant part of these results is published with detailed proofs for the first time. The book is concluded with a…
The Euler-Gauss linear transformation formula for the hypergeometric function was extended by Goursat for the case of logarithmic singularities. By replacing the perturbed Bessel differential equation by a monodromic functional equation, and studying this equation separately from the differential equation by an appropriate Laplace-Borel technique, we associate with the latter equation another monodromic relation in the dual complex plane. This enables us to prove a duality theorem and to extend Goursat's formula to much larger classes of functions.
In this paper we consider the Bessel-Struve operator $l_α$ and the Bessel-Struve intertwining operator $χ_α$ and its dual, we define and study the Bessel-Struve Sonine transform $S_{α,β}$ on $\mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R})$. We prove that $S_{α,β}$ is a transmutation operator from $l_α$ into $l_β$ on $\mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R})$ and we deduce similar result for its dual $S_{α,β}^*$ on $\mathcal{E}'(\mathbb{R})$. Furthermore, invoking Weyl integral transform and the Dual Sonine transform $^tS_{α,β}$ on $\mathcal{D}(\mathbb{R})$, we get a relation between the Bessel-Struve transforms $\mathcal{F}^α_{BS} $…
This paper was published in the special issue of the Journal of Inequalities and Special Functions dedicated to Professor Ivan Dimovski's contributions to different fields of mathematics: transmutation theory, special functions, integral transforms, function theory etc. In this paper we study fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator. The fractional powers are defined explicitly in the integral form without use of integral transforms in its definitions. Some general properties of the fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator are proved and some are listed. Among them ar…
We investigate the singular Weyl-Titchmarsh m-function of perturbed spherical Schroedinger operators (also known as Bessel operators) under the assumption that the perturbation $q(x)$ satisfies $x q(x) \in L^1(0,1)$. We show existence plus detailed properties of a fundamental system of solutions which are entire with respect to the energy parameter. Based on this we show that the singular m-function belongs to the generalized Nevanlinna class and connect our results with the theory of super singular perturbations.
In this paper, we study the strong asymptotic for the orthogonal polynomials and universality associated with singularly perturbed Pollaczek-Jacobi type weight $$w_{p_J2}(x,t)=e^{-\frac{t}{x(1-x)}}x^α(1-x)^β, $$ where $t \ge 0$, $α>0$, $β>0$ and $x \in [0,1].$ Our main results obtained here include two aspects: { I. Strong asymptotics:} We obtain the strong asymptotic expansions for the monic Pollaczek-Jacobi type orthogonal polynomials in different interval $(0,1)$ and outside of interval $\mathbb{C}\backslash (0,1)$, respectively; Due to the effect of $\frac{t}{x(1-x)}$ for varying $t$, diff…
