Exponential decay for negative feedback loop with distributed delay

We derive sufficient conditions for exponential decay of solutions of the delay negative feedback equation with distributed delay. The conditions are written in terms of exponential moments of the distribution. Our method only uses elementary tools of calculus and is robust towards possible extensions to more complex settings, in particular, systems of delay differential equations. We illustrate the applicability of the method to particular distributions - Dirac delta, Gamma distribution, uniform and truncated normal distributions.

Delayed Feedback Control near Hopf Bifurcation

The stability of functional differential equations under delayed feedback is investigated near a Hopf bifurcation. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for the stability of the equilibrium solution using averaging theory. The results are used to compare delayed versus undelayed feedback, as well as discrete versus distributed delays. Attractivity of Saturated Equilibria for Lotka-Volterra Systems with Infinite Delays and Feedback Controls

Stabilization of turning processes using spindle feedback with state-dependent delay

We develop a stabilization strategy of turning processes by means of delayed spindle control. We show that turning processes which contain intrinsic state-dependent delays can be stabilized by a spindle control with state-dependent delay, and develop analytical description of the stability region in the parameter space. Numerical simulations stability region are also given to illustrate the general results.

Boundary feedback stabilization by piecewise constant time delay for the wave equation

For vibrating systems, a delay in the application of a feedback control can destroy the stabilizing effect of the control. In this paper we consider a vibrating string that is fixed at one end and stabilized with a boundary feedback with delay at the other end. We show that for certain feedback parameters the system is exponentially stable with constant delays of the form 4L/c, 8L/c, 12L/c ... Moreover, we show that the system is exponentially stable with piecewise constant delays that attain the values 4L/c and 8L/c.

Nonlinear effects of instantaneous and delayed state dependence in a delayed feedback loop

We study a scalar, first-order delay differential equation (DDE) with instantaneous and state-dependent delayed feedback, which itself may be delayed. Stability of plane wave solutions in complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with delayed feedback

We perform bifurcation analysis of plane wave solutions in one-dimensional cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation with delayed feedback. Our study reveals how multistability and snaking behavior of plane waves emerge as time delay is introduced. For intermediate values of the delay, bifurcation diagrams are obtained by a combination of analytical and numerical methods.
