We propose a novel mechanism to realize leptogenesis through the Breit-Wigner resonance of a dark $U(1)_D$ gauge boson $Z_D$, which mediates lepton number violating annihilations of dark matter (DM) in the context of the scotogenic model with a $U(1)_D$. The processes occur out of equilibrium and the DM freezes out lately giving rise to the observed abundance. The CP violation required for leptogenesis can be achieved by the interference between tree-level t-channel scattering of DM and the subsequent 1-loop mediated by $Z_D$, which arises due to the unremovable imaginary part of either the $Z_D$ propagator coming from its self-energy correction or the 1-loop giving rise to the effective coupling of $Z_D\barνν$.
We consider a simple extension of the standard model, which could give a solution to its $CP$ issues through both the Peccei-Quinn mechanism and the Nelson-Barr mechanism. Its low energy effective model coincides with the scotogenic model in the leptonic sector. Although leptogenesis is known not to work well at lower reheating temperature than $10^9$ GeV in simple seesaw and scotogenic frameworks, such low reheating temperature could be consistent with both neutrino mass generation and thermal leptogenesis via newly introduced fields without referring to the resonance effect. An alternative d…
We propose a minimal extension of the standard model with U(1)_{B-L} \times Z_{2} symmetry. In this model by assuming that the neutrinos are Dirac (i.e. $B-L$ is an exact symmetry), we found a simultaneous solution for non zero neutrino masses and dark matter content of the universe. The observed baryon asymmetry of the universe is also explained using Dirac Leptogenesis, which is assisted by a dark sector, gauged under a U(1)_D symmetry. The latter symmetry of the dark sector is broken at a TeV scale and thereby giving mass to a neutral gauge boson Z_D. The standard model Z-boson mixes with t…
We propose a model for Dirac leptogenesis based on a non-anomalous $U(1)^{\prime}$ gauged family symmetry. The anomaly cancellation conditions are satisfied with no new chiral fermions other than the three right-handed neutrinos, giving rise to stringent constraints among the charges. Realistic masses and mixing angles are obtained for all fermions. The model predicts neutrinos of the Dirac type with naturally suppressed masses. Dirac leptogenesis is achieved through the decay of the flavon fields. The cascade decays of the vector-like heavy fermions in the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism play a cr…
In this talk we present a mechanism for leptogenesis which is based on gravity waves produced during inflation. We show that when inflation is driven by a pseudo-scalar field the metric perturbations generated during inflation can become birefringent, therefore giving a non-vanishing contribution to the gravitational triangle anomaly and sourcing lepton anti-lepton asymmetry. As this asymmetry is sourced by the fields which are active during inflation, it is not washed out or diluted by inflation. The amount of matter asymmetry generated in our model can be of realistic size for the parameters…
Observed baryon asymmetry can be achieved not only by the decay of right-handed neutrinos but also by the scattering processes in the reheating era. In the latter scenario, new physics in high energy scale does not need to be specified, but only two types of the higher dimensional operator of the standard model particles are assumed in the previous work. In this paper, we examine the origin of the higher dimensional operators assuming models with a certain seesaw mechanism at the high energy scale. The seesaw mechanism seems to be a simple realization of the reheating era leptogenesis because …
We consider an effective theory with an $SU(2)\times U(1)\times A_{4}\times Z_{2}\times Z_{4}$ symmetry and investigate the possibility of a linking TeV-leptogenesis with a reactor angle $|U_{e3}|$ through spontaneous $A_{4}$ symmetry breaking which is at a scale higher than electroweak scale under the framework of radiative seesaw. It has been shown that tri-bimaximal(TBM) can be obtained by forging vacuum expectation value (VEV) alignment of the $A_{4}$. Especially, one $A_{4}$ triplet scalar field with cut-off scale $Λ$ is added in neutrino Yukawa sector, which is responsible for the deviat…
The nature of dark matter (DM) particles and the mechanism that provides their measured relic abundance are currently unknown. Likewise, the nature of the inflaton is unknown as well. We investigate the triplet seesaw model in an unified picture. At high energy scale, we consider Higgs inflation driven by an admixture of standard model and triplet Higgs fields, both coupled non-minimally to gravity. At intermediate and low energies we investigate vector like fermion doublet DM candidates with a charge asymmetry in the dark sector, which is generated by the same mechanism that provides the bary…
We examine neutrino oscillations in a two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) in which the second doublet couples only to the third generation right-handed up-fermions, i.e., to t_R and to N_3 which is the heaviest right-handed Majorana neutrino. The inherently large tan(beta) of this model can naturally account for the large top mass and, based on a quark-lepton similarity ansatz, when embedded into a seesaw mechanism it can also account for the observed neutrino masses and mixing angles giving a very small θ_{13}: -0.017 < θ_{13} < 0.021 at 99% CL, and a very restrictive prediction for the atmospheri…
We point out that the discovery of a right-handed charged gauge boson $W_R^\pm$ with mass of around a few TeV, for example through a signal of two leptons and two jets that has been reported by CMS to have a 2.8$σ$ local excess or through a signal of a resonance decaying into a pair of standard model (SM) gauge bosons showing a local excess of 3.4$σ$ (2.5$σ$ global) reported by ATLAS search, will rule out all possibilities of leptogenesis in all classes of the left-right symmetric extensions of the Standard Model (LRSM) with both triplet and doublet Higgs scalars due to the unavoidable fast ga…
The Conformal Standard Model (CSM) is a minimal extension of the Standard Model of Particle Physics based on the assumed absence of large intermediate scales between the TeV scale and the Planck scale, which incorporates only right-chiral neutrinos and a new complex scalar in addition to the usual SM degrees of freedom, but no other features such as supersymmetric partners. In this paper, we present a comprehensive quantitative analysis of this model, and show that all outstanding issues of particle physics proper can in principle be solved `in one go' within this framework. This includes in p…
We investigate unification prospects of two heavy scalar triplet extension of the standard model where, in the absence of any right-handed neutrino (RHN), type-II seesaw accounts for current oscillation data with hierarchical neutrino masses consistent with cosmological bounds and the lighter triplet decay explains baryon asymmetry of the Universe via leptogenesis. We note that the absence of RHNs in the fundamental fermion representations of SU(5) delineates its outstanding position compared to SO(10) (or $E_6$). In addition, SU(5) needs smaller scalar representations ${15}_{H1}\oplus {15}_{H…
Within Type-I seesaw mechanism, Higgs mass can be dynamically generated via quantum effects of the right handed neutrinos assuming the potential is nearly conformal at the Ultra-Violet. The scenario, named as the "Neutrino Option" allows RH neutrino mass scale upto $M \lesssim$ $10^7$ GeV to be consistent with light neutrino masses, mixing and Higgs mass. Therefore, it is not consistent with standard hierarchical thermal leptogenesis. Parameter space for thermal resonant leptogenesis is highly constrained in this model. We point out that non-thermal pair production of RH neutrinos from inflato…
We propose a new scenario to produce the superheavy dark matter based on the inflationary universe. In our scenario, the inflaton couples to both a boson and a stable fermion. Although the fermion is produced by the inflaton decay after inflation, almost energy density of the inflaton is transmitted into the radiation by parametric resonance which causes the explosively copious production of the boson. We show that the fermion produced by the inflaton decay can be the superheavy dark matter, whose abundance in the present universe coincides with the critical density. We also present two explic…
We study preheating after hilltop inflation where the inflaton couples to another scalar field, e.g. a right-handed sneutrino, which provides a mechanism for generating the correct initial conditions for inflation and also a decay channel for the inflaton that allows for reheating and non-thermal leptogenesis. In the presence of such a coupling, we find that after the phases of tachyonic preheating and tachyonic oscillations, during which the inflaton field becomes inhomogeneous, there can be a subsequent preheating phase where the fluctuations of the other field get resonantly enhanced, from …
We propose a simple model in which the baryon asymmetry and dark matter are created via the decays and inverse decays of QCD-triplet scalars, at least one of which must be in the TeV mass range. Singlet fermions produced in these decays constitute the dark matter. The singlets never reach equilibrium, and their coherent production, propagation, and annihilation generates a baryon asymmetry. We find that that the out-of-equilibrium condition and the dark matter density constraint typically require the lightest scalar to be long-lived, giving good prospects for detection or exclusion in current …
We present $ψ'$MSSM, a model based on a $U(1)_{ψ'}$ extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The gauge symmetry $U(1)_{ψ'}$, also known as $U(1)_N$, is a linear combination of the $U(1)_χ$ and $U(1)_ψ$ subgroups of $E_6$. The model predicts the existence of three sterile neutrinos with masses $\lesssim 0.1~{\rm eV}$, if the $U(1)_{ψ'}$ breaking scale is of order 10 TeV. Their contribution to the effective number of neutrinos at nucleosynthesis is $ΔN_ν\simeq 0.29$. The model can provide a variety of possible cold dark matter candidates including the lightest sterile sneutrino. I…
We present the first determination of the hadronic decays of the lightest exotic $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ resonance in lattice QCD. Working with SU(3) flavor symmetry, where the up, down and strange quark masses approximately match the physical strange-quark mass giving $m_π\sim 700$ MeV, we compute finite-volume spectra on six lattice volumes which constrain a scattering system featuring eight coupled channels. Analytically continuing the scattering amplitudes into the complex energy plane, we find a pole singularity corresponding to a narrow resonance which shows relatively weak coupling to the open …
Giving up the solutions to the fine-tuning problems, we propose the non-supersymmetric flipped $SU(5)\times U(1)_X$ model based on the minimal particle content principle, which can be constructed from the four-dimensional $SO(10)$ models, five-dimensional orbifold $SO(10)$ models, and local F-theory $SO(10)$ models. To achieve gauge coupling unification, we introduce one pair of vector-like fermions, which form complete $SU(5)\times U(1)_X$ representation. Proton lifetime is around $5\times 10^{35}$ years, neutrino masses and mixing can be explained via seesaw mechanism, baryon asymmetry can b…
