The Kerr black holes possess a photon region with prograde and retrograde orbits radii, respectively, $M\leq r_p^-\leq 3M$ and $3M\leq r_p^+\leq 4M$, and thereby always cast a closed photon ring or a shadow silhouette for $a\leq M$. For $a>M$, it is a no-horizon spacetime (naked singularity) wherein prograde orbits spiral into the central singularity, and retrograde orbits produce an arc-like shadow with a dark spot at the center. We compare Kerr black holes' photon ring structure with those produced by three rotating regular spacetimes, viz. Bardeen, Hayward, and nonsingular. These are non-Kerr black hole metrics with an additional deviation parameter of $g$ related to the nonlinear electrodynamics charge. It turns out that for a given $ a $, there exists a critical value of $ g $, $g_E$ such that $Δ=0$ has no zeros for $ g > g_E$, one double zero at $ r = r_E $ for $ g = g_E $, respectively, corresponding to a no-horizon regular spacetime and extremal black hole with degenerate horizon. We demonstrate that, unlike the Kerr naked singularity, no-horizon regular spacetimes can possess closed photon ring when $g_E< g \leq g_c$, e.g., for $a=0.10M$, Bardeen ($g_E=0.763332M<g\leq g_c= 0.816792M$), Hayward ($g_E=1.05297M < g\leq g_c = 1.164846M$) and nonsingular ($g_E=1.2020M < g \leq g_c= 1.222461M$) no-horizon spacetimes have closed photon ring. These results confirm that the mere existence of a closed photon ring does not prove that the compact object is necessarily a black hole. The ring circularity deviation observable $ΔC$ for the three no-horizon rotating spacetimes satisfy $ΔC\leq 0.10$ as per the M87* black hole shadow observations. We have also appended the case of Kerr-Newman no-horizon spacetimes (naked singularities) with similar features.
In this paper, we investigate the properties of the Lense-Thirring precession frequency and periastron precession of the relativistic bound orbits in slowly rotating naked singularity spacetimes. We show that the precession frequencies of a stationary test gyroscope are quite unique in slowly rotating naked singularity spacetimes, and therefore, one can easily distinguish them from the slowly rotating Kerr black hole spacetime. On the other hand, we also show that in slowly rotating Joshi-Malafarina-Narayan (JMN1) naked singularity spacetime, negative precession of the timelike bound orbits is…
Recently, two kinds of deformed schwarzschild spacetime have been proposed, which are the black-bounces metric (\cite{2019JCAP...02..042S,2021PhRvD.103h4052L}) and quantum deformed black hole (BH) (\cite{2021arXiv210202471B}). In present work, we investigate the rotating spacetime of these deformed Schwarzschild metric. They are exact solutions to the Einstein$'$s field equation. We analyzed the properties of these rotating spacetimes, such as event horizon (EH), stationary limit surface (SIS), structure of singularity ring, energy condition (EC), etc., and found that these rotating spacetime …
In this article we study the geodesic motion of test particles and light in the five-dimensional (rotating) black string spacetime. If a compact dimension is added to the four-dimensional Schwarzschild or Kerr spacetime, the new five-dimensional metric describes a (rotating) black string. The geodesics in the Schwarzschild and Kerr spacetime have been studied in great detail, however, when a compact dimension is added new behaviour occurs. We present the analytical solutions of the geodesic equations and discuss the possible orbits. The motion in the ordinary four-dimensional Schwarzschild and…
We investigate the deflection of light by a rotating global monopole spacetime and a rotating Letelier spacetime in the weak deflection approximation. To this end, we apply the Gauss-Bonnet theorem to the corresponding osculating optical geometries and show that the deflection of light increases due to the presence of the global monopole parameter and the string cloud parameter, respectively. The results obtained for the deflection angle in the equatorial plane generalize known results for the corresponding non-rotating global monopole and Letelier spacetimes as well as the Kerr solution.
We show that under certain conditions an axisymmetric rotating spacetime contains a ring of points in the equatorial plane, where a particle at rest with respect to an asymptotic static observer remains at rest in a static orbit. We illustrate the emergence of such orbits for boson stars. Further examples are wormholes, hairy black holes and Kerr-Newman solutions.
The energy-momentum distribution of spatially homogeneous rotating spacetimes in the context of teleparallel theory of gravity is investigated. For this purpose, we use the teleparallel version of Moller prescription. It is found that the components of energy-momentum density are finite and well-defined but are different from General Relativity. However, the energy-momentum density components become the same in both theories under certain assumptions. We also analyse these quantities for some special solutions of the spatially homogeneous rotating spacetimes.
In this paper we add a compact dimension to Schwarzschild-(anti-) de sitter and Kerr-(anti-) de sitter spacetimes, which describes (rotating) black string-(anti-) de sitter spacetime. We study the geodesic motion of test particles and light rays in this spacetime. We present the analytical solutions of the geodesic equations in terms of Weierstrass elliptic and Kleinian sigma hyperelliptical functions. We also discuss the possible orbits and classify them according to particle's energy and angular momentum. Moreover, the obtained results, are compared to Schwarzschild-(anti-) de sitter and Ker…
In this paper, with an appropriate combination of three Liouville-type dilaton potentials, we obtain the higher dimensional charged slowly rotating dilaton black hole solution for asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetime. The angular momentum and the gyromagnetic ratio of such a black hole are determined for the arbitrary values of the dilaton coupling constant. It is shown that the dilaton field modifies the gyromagnetic ratio of the rotating dilaton black holes.
The behavior of a arbitrary coupled quantum scalar field is studied in the background of the Gödel spacetime. Closed forms are derived for the effective action and the vacuum expectation value of quadratic field fluctuations by using $ζ$-function regularization. Based on these results, we argue that causality violation presented in this spacetime can not be removed by quantum effects.
In this paper, we construct the rotating Janis-Newman-Winicour (JNW) naked singularity spacetime using Newman-Janis Algorithm (NJA). We analyse NJA with and without complexification methods and find that the energy conditions do satisfied when we skip the complexification step. We study the shadows cast by rotating JNW naked singularity and compare them with the shadows cast by the Kerr black hole. We find that the shadow of the rotating naked singularity can be distinguished from the shadow of the Kerr black hole. While we analyse the precession of timelike bound orbits in rotating JNW spacet…

This work deals with the influence of the gravitational field produced by a charged and rotating black hole (Kerr-Newman spacetime) on massive scalar fields. We obtain an exact solution of the Klein-Gordon equation in this spacetime, which is given in terms of the confluent Heun functions. In the particular case corresponding to an extreme Kerr-Newman black hole the solution is given by the double confluent Heun functions. We also investigate the solutions in regions near the event horizon and far from the black hole.
We have investigated the motion of timelike particles along geodesic in the background of accelerating and rotating black hole spacetime. We confirmed that the chaos exists in the geodesic motion of the particles by Poincaré sections, the power spectrum, the fast Lyapunov exponent indicator and the bifurcation diagram. Moreover, we probe the effects of the acceleration and rotation parameters on the chaotic behavior of a timelike geodesic particle in the black hole spacetime. Our results show that the acceleration brings richer physics for the geodesic motion of particles.
We investigate the implications of the existence of Killing spinors in a spacetime. In particular, we show that in vacuum and electrovacuum a Killing spinor, along with some assumptions on the associated Killing vector in an asymptotic region, guarantees that the spacetime is locally isometric to the Kerr or Kerr-Newman solutions. We show that the characterisation of these spacetimes in terms of Killing spinors is an alternative expression of characterisation results of Mars (Kerr) and Wong (Kerr-Newman) involving restrictions on the Weyl curvature and matter content.
We construct regular rotating black hole and no-horizon spacetimes based on the recently introduced spherically symmetric generic regular black hole spacetimes related to electric or magnetic charge under nonlinear electrodynamics coupled to general relativity that for special values of the spacetime parameters reduce to the Bardeen and Hayward spacetimes. We show that the weak and strong energy conditions are violated inside the Cauchy horizons of these generic rotating black holes. We give the boundary between the rotating black hole and no-horizon spacetimes and determine the black hole hor…
We study the gravitational collapse of a rotating cylindrical null shell with flat interior and the metric of a spinning cosmic string as the exterior. We see that there is a critical radius, where the energy density of the shell vanishes and beyond which it would be negative, thereby signaling that the matching would be unphysical.
We add a prescription to the Newman-Janis algorithm in order to use it as a means of finding new extended (`through r<0') rotating black hole spacetimes from static spherically symmetric ones. Then, we apply the procedure to a quantum improved black hole spacetime coming from Quantum Einstein Gravity. The goal is to get a maximally extended spacetime corresponding to a non-singular rotating black hole emulating the standard maximally extended Kerr black hole in regions where quantum effects are negligible. We rigourously check for the existence of scalar curvature singularities in the quantum …
We study the statistical mechanics for quantum scalar fields under the multi-parameter rotating black hole spacetime in arbitrary D dimensions. The method of analysis is general in the sense that the metric does not depend on the explicit black hole solutions. The generalized Stefan-Boltzmann's law for the scalar field is derived by considering the allowed energy region properly. Then the generalized area law for the scalar field entropy is derived by introducing the invariant regularization parameter in the Rindler spacetime. The derived area law is applied to Kerr-AdS black holes in four and…
The formulation of quasi-local conformal Killling horizons(CKH) is extended to include rotation. This necessitates that the horizon be foliated by 2-spheres which may be distorted. Matter degrees of freedom which fall through the horizon is taken to be a real scalar field. We show that these rotating CKHs also admit a first law in differential form.
The exact charged rotating solution of 2+1 Einstein-Maxwell equations with $Λ$ term is obtained and its properties outlined. It generalizes the Cataldo-Cruz-del Campo-Garc{\'ı}a relativistic charged massive black hole on the 2+1 anti-de Sitter cosmological background. We show that rotating solutions correspond to inhomogeneous field equations, thus presence of sources in 2+1 Maxwell's equations cannot be identified with existence of a charge distribution. Instead, these sources are related to the 2+1 Machian 2-form field, and the overall Lagrangian structure of the rotating system is reconstru…
A double new class of solutions to the general relativity field equations describing interior spacetimes sourced by stationary cylindrical anisotropic fluids with principal stress directed along the symmetry axis is displayed. These solutions are required to satisfy regularity and junction conditions so that they can be possibly used to represent rotating astrophysical objects. Mathematical and physical properties are analyzed. The spacetime two independent parameters are physically interpreted, and they are shown to define two different solution classes together with stating the latters' prop…
We consider the metric perturbations around a stationary rotating Nambu-Goto string in Minkowski spacetime. By solving the linearized Einstein equations, we study the effects of azimuthal frame-dragging around the rotation axis and linear frame-dragging along the rotation axis, the Newtonian logarithmic potential, and the angular deficit around the string as the potential mode. We also investigate gravitational waves propagating off the string and propagating along the string, and show that the stationary rotating string emits gravitational waves toward the directions specified by discrete ang…
In a collisional Penrose process, two particles coming from the asymptotically flat region collide in the ergosphere of a compact object. The collision produces two new particles, one with positive energy and one with negative energy. When the particle with positive energy escapes to infinity, the process extracts energy from the compact object. In this paper, we study the collisional Penrose process in a rotating wormhole spacetime. We consider the simple case of a head-on collision at the throat of a Teo wormhole. We find that the process of energy extraction from a Teo wormhole can be subst…
Region of trapped null geodesics hidden inside of extremely compact objects is of astrophysical importance because of trapping of gravitational waves, or neutrinos. The trapping effect of null geodesics was extensively studied for spherically symmetric extremely compact objects. Recently, influence of rotation of the extremely compact objects on the trapping of null geodesics was treated in the simplest possible model of internal linearised \mbox{Hartle--Thorne} spacetime with uniform energy density distribution and uniform emissivity distribution of null geodesics. Here we extend the study of…
In this paper, we study different cases of the charged rotating BTZ black hole with reference to their horizons. For the existence of these cases conditions on mass, charge and angular momentum of the black hole are obtained. It is also shown that the Einstein field equations for the charged rotating BTZ black hole at the horizon can be expressed as first law of thermodynamics, $dE=TdS+ΩdJ+Φdq+P_{r}dA$.
We construct novel solutions to the effective Einstein equation with four dimensional cosmological constant on a 3-brane in Randall-Sundrum II scenario. The charged solution is obtained by assuming the existence of localized Maxwell fields on the 3-brane. Timelike and null circular geodesics in the neutral rotating braneworld spacetime with NUT parameter are discussed, and we find that such geodesics cannot occur on the equatorial plane. On non-equatorial planes, timelike circular geodesics can occur for the negative tidal charge, but we cannot find numerical results to support the existence o…
We perform a detailed study of the geodesic equations in the spacetime of the static and rotating charged black hole corresponding to the Kerr-Newman-(A)dS spacetime. We derive the equations of motion for test particles and light rays and present their solutions in terms of the Weierstrass $\wp$, $ζ$ and $σ$ functions as well as the Kleinian $σ$ function. With the help of parametric diagrams and effective potentials we analyze the geodesic motion and classify the possible orbit types. This spacetime is also a solution of $f(R)$ gravity with a constant curvature scalar.
Instead of using a three dimensional analysis on quasi-local horizons, we adopt a four dimensional asymptotic expansion analysis to study the next order contributions from the nonlinearity of general relativity. From the similarity between null infinity and horizons, the proper reference frames are chosen from the compatible constant spinors for an observer to measure the energy-momentum and flux near quasi-local horizons. In particular, we focus on the similarity of Bondi-Sachs gravitational radiation for the quasi-local horizons and compare our results to Ashtekar-Kirshnan flux formular. The…
Black hole mechanics was recently extended by replacing the more commonly used event horizons in stationary space-times with isolated horizons in more general space-times (which may admit radiation arbitrarily close to black holes). However, so far the detailed analysis has been restricted to non-rotating black holes (although it incorporated arbitrary distortion, as well as electromagnetic, Yang-Mills and dilatonic charges). We now fill this gap by first introducing the notion of isolated horizon angular momentum and then extending the first law to the rotating case.
To date, a mathematically consistent construction of effective rotating black hole models in the context of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) is still lacking. In this work, we start with the assumption that rotating LQG black hole metrics can be effectively obtained using Newman-Janis Algorithm. Then, based on a few extra fair assumptions on the seed metric functions, we make a conjecture on what a rotating LQG black hole would generically look like. Our general arguments and conclusions can be supported by some known specific examples in the literature.
Rotating thin-shell-like sources for the stationary cylindrically symmetric vacuum solutions (Lewis) are constructed and studied. It is found, by imposing the non existence of timelike curves in the exterior of the shell, and that the source satisfies the weak, dominant and strong energy conditions that the parameters, commonly denoted by $a$ and $σ$, are restricted to $0 \le σ\le 1/4$ when $a > 0$, or $1/4 \le σ\le 1/2$ when $a < 0$.
The null geodesics and the distance of closest approach for photon around a rotating dyonic black hole in $\mathcal{N} = 2, U(1)^2$ gauged supergravity is studied. The phenomenon of black hole shadows with various black hole parameters has also analyzed. Further, the investigation of various thermodynamic properties for this black hole is performed with various thermodynamic parameters at the horizon. The heat capacity to study the thermodynamic stability of this black hole spacetime is also studied. The influence for different values of the black hole parameters $ ν$, $ e $, $ ν$, $ g $ and $…
The shadow of a black hole can be one of the strong observational evidences for stationary black holes. If we see shadows at the center of galaxies, we would say whether the observed compact objects are black holes. In this paper, we consider a formula for the contour of a shadow in an asymptotically-flat, stationary, and axisymmetric black hole spacetime. We show that the formula is useful for obtaining the contour of the shadow of several black holes such as the Kerr-Newman black hole and rotating regular black holes. Using the formula, we can obtain new examples of the contour of the shadow…
We present the complete analytical solution of the geodesics equations in the supersymmetric BMPV spacetime \cite{Breckenridge:1996is}. We study systematically the properties of massive and massless test particle motion. We analyze the trajectories with analytical methods based on the theory of elliptic functions. Since the nature of the effective potential depends strongly on the rotation parameter $ω$, one has to distinguish between the underrotating case, the critical case and the overrotating case, as discussed by Gibbons and Herdeiro in their pioneering study \cite{Gibbons:1999uv}. We dis…
In the multihorizon black hole spacetimes, it is possible that there are degenerate Cauchy horizons with vanishing surface gravities. We investigate the stability of the degenerate Cauchy horizon in black hole spacetimes. Despite the asymptotic behavior of spacetimes (flat, anti-de Sitter, or de Sitter), we find that the Cauchy horizon is stable against the classical perturbations, but unstable quantum mechanically.
We first review the accelerating, rotating and charged Plebanski-Demianski (PD) black hole, which includes the Kerr-Newman rotating black hole and the Taub-NUT spacetime. The main feature of this black hole is that it has 4 horizons like event horizon, Cauchy horizon and two accelerating horizons. In the non-extremal case, the surface area, entropy, surface gravity, temperature, angular velocity, Komar energy and irreducible mass on the event horizon and Cauchy horizon are presented for PD black hole. The entropy product, temperature product, Komar energy product and irreducible mass product a…
The spinning C-metric was discovered by Plebanski and Demianski as a generalization of the standard C-metric which is known to represent uniformly accelerated non-rotating black holes. We first transform the spinning C-metric into Weyl coordinates and analyze some of its properties as Killing vectors and curvature invariants. A transformation is then found which brings the metric into the canonical form of the radiative spacetimes with the boost-rotation symmetry. By analytically continuing the metric across "acceleration horizons", two new regions of the spacetime arise in which both Killing …
We study rotating boson stars in five spacetime dimensions. The boson fields consist of a complex doublet scalar field. Considering boson stars rotating in two orthogonal planes with both angular momenta of equal magnitude, a special ansatz for the boson field and the metric allows for solutions with nontrivial dependence on the radial coordinate only. The charge of the scalar field equals the sum of the angular momenta. The rotating boson stars are globally regular and asymptotically flat. For our choice of a sixtic potential the rotating boson star solutions possess a flat spacetime limit. W…
The Dirac equation is solved in the rotating Bertotti-Robinson spacetime. The set of equations representing the Dirac equation in the Newman-Penrose formalism is decoupled into an axial and angular part. The axial equation, which is independent of mass, is solved exactly in terms of hypergeometric functions. The angular equation is considered both for massless (neutrino) and massive spin-(1/2) particles. For the neutrinos, it is shown that the angular equation admits an exact solution in terms of the confluent Heun equation. In the existence of mass, the angular equation does not allow an anal…
We study a non-uniformly rotating universe outside a Schwarzschild black hole by generating a time-dependent manifold of revolution around a straight line. In this simple model where layers of spherical shells of the universe non-uniformly rotate, the Einstein field equations require this phenomenon to be caused by a static mass-energy distribution with time-dependent $T^{ϕϕ}$ (quadratic with time) and $T^{rϕ}=T^{ϕr}$ (linear with time). This indicates that a time-dependent stress along a certain direction results in a spacetime shift in that direction. For this model however, such material vi…
We have studied the wave properties of the cold and isothermal plasma in the vicinity of the Schwarzschild black hole event horizon. The Fourier analyzed perturbed 3+1 GRMHD equations are taken on the basis of which the complex dispersion relations are obtained for non-rotating, rotating non-magnetized and rotating magnetized backgrounds. The propagation and attenuation vectors along with the refractive index are obtained (shown in graphs) to study the dispersive properties of the medium near the event horizon. The results show that no information can be obtained from the Schwarzschild magneto…
We derive the complete set of geodesic equations for massive and massless test particles of a five-dimensional, charged, rotating black hole solution of the Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons field equations in five-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity and present their analytical solutions in terms of Weierstraß' elliptic functions. We study the polar and radial motion, depending on the black hole and test particle parameters, and characterize the test particle motion qualitatively by the means of effective potentials. We use the analytical solutions in order to visualize the test particle moti…
A disformal rotating black-hole solution is a black-hole solution in quadratic degenerate higher-order scalar-tensor theories. It breaks the circular condition of spacetime different from the case of the usual Kerr spacetime. This study investigated the dynamic behaviors of the motion of timelike particles in such disformal black-hole spacetime with an extra deformation parameter. Results showed that the characteristics of the particle's motion depend on the sign of the deformation parameter. For the positive deformation parameter, the motion is regular and orderly. For the negative one, as th…
With a semiclassical polymerization in the loop quantum gravity (LQG), the interior of Schwarzschild black holes provides a captivating single-horizon regular black hole spacetime. The shortage of rotating black hole models in loop quantum gravity (LQG) substantially restrains the progress of testing LQG from observations. Motivated by this, starting with a spherical LQG black hole as a seed metric, we construct a rotating spacetime using the revised Newman-Janis algorithm, namely, the LQG-motivated rotating black holes (LMRBH), which encompasses Kerr ($l=0$) black holes as an exceptional case…
This thesis is concerned with the development of a general method to compute renormalised local observables for quantum matter fields, in a given quantum state, on a rotating black hole spacetime. The rotating black hole may be surrounded by a Dirichlet mirror, if necessary, such that a regular, isometry-invariant vacuum state can be defined. We focus on the case of a massive scalar field on a (2+1)-dimensional rotating black hole, but the method can be extended to other types of matter fields and higher-dimensional rotating black holes. The Feynman propagator of the matter field in the regula…
We consider smooth electrovac spacetimes which represent either (A) an asymptotically flat, stationary black hole or (B) a cosmological spacetime with a compact Cauchy horizon ruled by closed null geodesics. The black hole event horizon or, respectively, the compact Cauchy horizon of these spacetimes is assumed to be a smooth null hypersurface which is non-degenerate in the sense that its null geodesic generators are geodesically incomplete in one direction. In both cases, it is shown that there exists a Killing vector field in a one-sided neighborhood of the horizon which is normal to the hor…
The bizarre behaviour of the apparent (black hole and cosmological) horizons of the McVittie spacetime is discussed using, as an analogy, the Schwarzschild-de Sitter-Kottler spacetime (which is a special case of McVittie anyway). For a dust-dominated "background" universe, a black hole cannot exist at early times because its (apparent) horizon would be larger than the cosmological(apparent) horizon. A phantom-dominated "background" universe causes this situation, and the horizon behaviour, to be time-reversed.
We construct the disk sources matched to the exact vacuum Kerr and to the two classes of Tomimatsu-Sato spacetimes. We analyze two models of the matter forming these disks. At each radius we consider either a rotating massive ring with pressure or two counter-rotating streams of particles in circular geodesic motion. Dragging effects present in such spacetimes lead either to rotation of rings or asymmetry of both streams. We demonstrate that the model of rotating rings is general enough to describe all axisymmetric stationary disk sources with vanishing radial pressure which satisfy weak energ…
We obtain a simple relationship between the change in the Brown-York energy inside of a closed two-surface just outside of a horizon of spacetime, and the change in the area of that two-surface.
We study slowly rotating four-dimensional black holes with flat horizon structure in scale-dependent gravity. First we obtain the solution, and then we study thermodynamic properties as well as the invariants of the theory. The impact of the scale-dependent parameter is investigated in detail. We find that the scale-dependent solution exhibits a single singularity at the origin, also present in the classical solution.
Quintessential dark energy with density $ρ$ and pressure $p$ is governed by an equation of state of the form $p=-ω_{q}ρ$ with the quintessential parameter $ω_q\in(-1;-1/3)$. We derive the geometry of quintessential rotating black holes, generalizing thus the Kerr spacetimes. Then we study the quintessential rotating black hole spacetimes with the special value of $ω_q = -2/3$ when the resulting formulae are simple and easily tractable. We show that such special spacetimes can exist for dimensionless quintessential parameter $c<1/6$ and determine the critical rotational parameter $a_0$ separati…
We propose the metric for general rotating spacetimes. These spacetimes are stationary, axially symmetric and spatially asymptotically flat. They can be the spacetimes outside of rotating black holes or rotating celestial bodies such as the Sun and the Earth. The metric functions are expanded in power series of distance and the angle variable is included in the expansion coefficients.
The crease set of an event horizon is studied in a spacetime with discrete or continuous symmetry. It determines possible topologies on spatial sections of an event horizon. We thereby investigate the classification of stable topological structure of the crease sets in a spacetime with any symmetry. In practice, we show the classification of the crease set in axially symmetric spacetime. By that we realize the topological structure of axially symmetric event horizons. We will finc that many new topological structures become stable which is not stable without symmetry.
A class of solutions of the gravitational field equations describing vacuum spacetimes outside rotating cylindrical sources is presented. A subclass of these solutions corresponds to the exterior gravitational fields of rotating cylindrical systems that emit gravitational radiation. The properties of these rotating gravitational wave spacetimes are investigated. In particular, we discuss the energy density of these waves using the gravitational stress-energy tensor.
In this paper, the isolated horizons with rotation are considered. It is shown that the symplectic form is the same as that in the nonrotating case. As a result, the boundary degrees of freedom can be also described by an SO$(1,1)$ BF theory. The entropy satisfies the Bekenstein-Hawking area law with the same Barbero-Immirzi parameter.
