Given an ample line bundle $L$ on a geometrically reduced projective scheme defined over an arbitrary non-Archimedean field, we establish a differentiability property for the relative volume of two continuous metrics on the Berkovich analytification of $L$, extending previously known results in the discretely valued case. As applications, we provide fundamental solutions to certain non-Archimedean Monge--Ampère equations, and generalize an equidistribution result for Fekete points. Our main technical input comes from determinant of cohomology and Deligne pairings.
Let $X$ be a normal projective variety over a complete discretely valued field and $L$ a line bundle on $X$. We denote by $X^\textrm{an}$ the analytification of $X$ in the sense of Berkovich and equip the analytification $L^\textrm{an}$ of $L$ with a continuous metric $\| \ \|$. We study non-archimedean volumes, a tool which allows us to control the asymptotic growth of small sections of big powers of $L$. We prove that the non-archimedean volume is differentiable at a continuous semipositive metric and that the derivative is given by integration with respect to a Monge-Ampère measure. Such a …
In this paper, we show that the arithmetic volume function defined on the space of pairs of adelic R-Cartier divisors and base conditions is differentiable at a big pair, and that its derivative is given by an arithmetic restricted positive intersection number defined for the pair.
We study the convergence of volume forms on a degenerating holomorphic family of log-Calabi-Yau varieties to a non-Archimedean measure, extending a result of Boucksom and Jonsson. More precisely, let $(X,B)$ be a holomorphic family of sub log canonical, log-Calabi-Yau complex varieties parameterized by the punctured unit disk. Let $η$ be a meromorphic volume form on $X$ with poles along $B$. We show that the (possibly infinite) measures induced by the restriction of the $η$ to a fiber converge to a measure on the Berkovich analytification as we approach the puncture. The convergence takes plac…
Let $k$ be a non-Archimedean rational valued field. We construct the moduli space of linearly rigidified polarized analytic tori over $k$ that admit rigid-analytic uniformization by an algebraic torus and observe that it is in definable rigid subanalytic bijection with a $PGL_N$-bundle over a polyhedral domain in an algebraic torus. We use this observation to prove that the Hrushovski-Kazhdan motivic volume of a non-Archimedean semi-algebraic family of Abelian varieties admitting such a uniformization fibrewise vanishes. This question is motivated by the conjectural geometric interpretation of…
Let $K$ be a non-archimedean local field, $X$ a smooth and proper $K$-scheme, and fix a pluricanonical form on $X$. For every finite extension $K'$ of $K$, the pluricanonical form induces a measure on the $K'$-analytic manifold $X(K')$. We prove that, when $K'$ runs through all finite tame extensions of $K$, suitable normalizations of the pushforwards of these measures to the Berkovich analytification of $X$ converge to a Lebesgue-type measure on the temperate part of the Kontsevich--Soibelman skeleton, assuming the existence of a strict normal crossings model for $X$. We also prove a similar …
In this paper we use motivic integration and non-archimedean analytic geometry to study the singularities at infinity of the fibers of a polynomial map $f\colon \mathbb A^d_\mathbb C \to \mathbb A^1_\mathbb C$. We show that the motive $S_{f,a}^{\infty}$ of the motivic nearby cycles at infinity of $f$ for a value $a$ is a motivic generalization of the classical invariant $λ_f(a)$, an integer that measures a lack of equisingularity at infinity in the fiber $f^{-1}(a)$. We then introduce a non-archimedean analytic nearby fiber at infinity $\mathcal F_{f,a}^{\infty}$ whose motivic volume recovers …
