Knot polynomial identities and quantum group coincidences

We construct link invariants using the $D_{2n}$ subfactor planar algebras, and use these to prove new identities relating certain specializations of colored Jones polynomials to specializations of other quantum knot polynomials. These identities can also be explained by coincidences between small modular categories involving the even parts of the $D_{2n}$ planar algebras. We discuss the origins of these coincidences, explaining the role of $SO$ level-rank duality, Kirby-Melvin symmetry, and properties of small Dynkin diagrams. Trigonometric identities and volumes of the hyperbolic twist knot cone-manifolds

We calculate the volumes of the hyperbolic twist knot cone-manifolds using the Schläfli formula. Even though general ideas for calculating the volumes of cone-manifolds are around, since there is no concrete calculation written, we present here the concrete calculations. We express the length of the singular locus in terms of the distance between the two axes fixed by two generators. In this way the calculation becomes easier than using the singular locus directly. Pretzel Knots and q-Series

The tail of the colored Jones polynomial of an alternating link is a $q$-series invariant whose first $n$ terms coincide with the first $n$ terms of the $n$-th colored Jones polynomial. Recently, it has been shown that the tail of the colored Jones polynomial of torus knots give rise to Ramanujan type identities. In this paper, we study $q$-series identities coming from the colored Jones polynomial of pretzel knots. Jacobi identities in low-dimensional topology

The Jacobi identity is the key relation in the definition of a Lie algebra. In the last decade, it also appeared at the heart of the theory of finite type invariants of knots, links and 3-manifolds (and is there called the IHX-relation). In addition, this relation was recently found to arise naturally in a theory of embedding obstructions for 2-spheres in 4-manifolds. Rogers-Ramanujan type identities and the head and tail of the colored Jones polynomial

We study the head and tail of the colored Jones polynomial while focusing mainly on alternating links. Various ways to compute the colored Jones polynomial for a given link give rise to combinatorial identities for those power series. We further show that the head and tail functions only depend on the reduced checkerboard graphs of the knot diagram. Moreover the class of head and tail functions of prime alternating links forms a monoid.
