The bumblebee field coupled with gravity is considered. This gravitational theory exhibits spontaneous breaking of Lorentz symmetry. The Gödel-type universe is introduced and then the causality and its violation are studied. Causal and non-causal Gödel-type solutions are obtained for different content of matter. In addition, when the coupling constant, which controls the interaction between the bumblebee field and the gravitational field, is zero the bumblebee potential may be associated with the value of the cosmological constant of the general relativity. Furthermore, the case with the non-zero coupling constant is also investigated.
The Bumblebee Model of spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking is explored in a cosmological context, considering a single non-zero time component for the vector field. The relevant dynamic equations for the evolution of the Universe are derived and its properties and physical significance studied. We conclude that a late-time de Sitter expansion of the Universe can be replicated, and attempt to constrain the parameter of the potential driving the spontaneous symmetry breaking.

We study Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity coupled to a bumblebee field which leads to a spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking in the gravitational sector. We obtain an exact black hole solution and a cosmological solution in four dimensional spacetime by a regularization scheme. We also obtain a Schwarzschild-like bumblebee black hole solution in $D$-dimensional spacetime. We find that the bumblebee field doesn't affect the locations of the black hole horizon, but only affects the gravitational potential. That is, its gravitational potential has a minimum value(negative) in the black hole interio…
We have obtained an exact vacuum solution from a gravity sector contained in the minimal standard-model extension. The theoretical model assumes a Riemann spacetime coupled to the bumblebee field which is responsible for the spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking. The solution achieved in a static and spherically symmetric scenario establishes a Schwarzschild-like black hole. In order to study the effects of the spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking, we have investigated some classics tests including the advance of the perihelion, bending of light and Shapiro's time-delay. Furthermore, we have …

We investigate strong lensing by a spherically symmetric mass distribution in the framework of the Einstein-Straus solution with positive cosmological constant and concentrate on the case of a spatially closed Universe ($k=+1$). We develop a method based on integration of differential equations in order to make possible the computation of light deflection and time delay. By applying our results to the lensed quasar SDSS J1004+4112, we find that the bending of light and time delay depend on wether the present value of the scale factor $a_0$ is or is not much smaller than a value close to $9.1 \…
We study a model of fluent material universe from a modified Newtonian cosmology proposed by D'Inverno and Tawfik. From this perspective, it shows a list of space-time curvature k with energy E, density ρ, specific heat $C_{p}$ and the fluid temperature gradient considered $ΔT$ corresponding to standard thermodynamic variables. We determined the coupling constants accompanying the matter density for different values we can take k
In this paper we study cosmological dynamics of phantom as well as non-phantom fields with linear potential in presence of Galileon correction $(\partial_μϕ\partial^μϕ) \Box ϕ$. We show that the Big Crunch singularity is delayed compared to the standard case; the delay crucially depends upon the strength of Galileon correction. As for the phantom Galileon, $ρ_ϕ$ is shown to grow more slowly compared to the standard phantom delaying the approach to singularity. In case, $V\sim ϕ^n, n>4$, Big Rip is also delayed, similar phenomenon is shown to take place for potentials steeper than the exponenti…
Present work deals with the two fluid Bianchi Type-V cosmological models consisting of matter and radiating source in the $f(R, T)$ theory of gravity studied by Harko et al. (2011). In this paper, we developed a new idea about $f(R, T)$ gravity with the help of two fluids: one fluid is matter field modeling material content of the Universe and other fluid is radiation field modeling the CMB. We have determined the solution of the two fluid gravitational field equations with the systematic structure in $f(R, T)$ gravity. Here we have deliberated four types of universe such as dust universe, rad…
We find exact solutions in five dimensional inhomogeneous matter dominated model with a varying cosmological constant. Adjusting arbitrary constants of integration one can also achieve acceleration in our model. Aside from an initial singularity our spacetime is regular everywhere including the centre of the inhomogeneous distribution. We also study the analogous homogeneous universe in (4+d) dimensions. Here an initially decelerating model is found to give late acceleration in conformity with the current observational demands. We also find that both anisotropy and number of dimensions have a …
A gravitational field model based on two symmetric tensors, $g_{μν}$ and $\tilde{g}_{μν}$, is studied, using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) analysis with the most updated catalog of SN-Ia. In this model, new matter fields are added to the original matter fields, motivated by an additional symmetry ($\tildeδ$~symmetry). We call them $\tildeδ$ matter fields. This theory predicts an accelerating Universe without the need to introduce a cosmological constant $Λ$ by hand in the equations. We obtained a very good fit to the SN-Ia Data, and with this, we found the two free parameters of the theory…
We investigate the cosmology of a class of model with noncanonical scalar field and matter in an anisotropy background. We find fixed points and their stability which constraints equation of state parameter for the matter. This is done after expressing the Einstein equations in terms of dimensionless variables. Similarly we define a set of suitable dynamical variables for studying bouncing solutions. The condition for nonsingular bounce is obtained. Here we show, numerically, that solution that of a cyclic universe exist for the certain form of kinetic term of noncanonical scalar field and the…
We compute time delays for gravitational lensing in a flat LambdaCDM Swiss cheese universe. We assume a primary and secondary pair of light rays are deflected by a single point mass condensation described by a Kottler metric (Schwarzschild with Lambda) embedded in an otherwise homogeneous cosmology. We find that the cosmological constant's effect on the difference in arrival times is non-linear and at most around 0.002% for a large cluster lens; however, we find differences from time delays predicted by conventional linear lensing theory that can reach ~4% for these large lenses. The differenc…
Delta Gravity is a gravitational model based on an extension of General Relativity given by a new symmetry called $\tildeδ$. In this model, new matter fields are added to the original matter fields, motivated by the additional symmetry. We call them $\tildeδ$ matter fields. This model predicts an accelerating Universe without the need to introduce a cosmological constant. In this work, we study the Delta Gravity prediction about the scalar CMB TT power spectrum using an analytical hydrodynamical approach. To fit the Planck satellite's data with the DG model, we used a Markov Chain Monte Carlo …
About 70\% of the Universe is Dark Energy, but the physics community still does not know what it is. Delta Gravity (DG) is an alternative theory of gravitation that could solve this cosmological problem. Previously, we studied the Universe's accelerated expansion, where DG was able to explain the SNe-Ia data successfully. In this work, we explore the cosmological fluctuations that give rise to the CMB through a hydrodynamic approximation. We calculate the gauge transformations for the metric and the perfect fluid to present the equations of the evolution of cosmological fluctuations, providing…
Growing non-singular solution of 6-dimensional Einstein equations for the 4-brane in infinite transversal 2-space is found. This solution provides gravitational trapping of matter and 4-dimensional gravity on the brane without extra delta-like source. The suitable solution exists in the case of the (2+4)-space and not exists for the (1+5)-signature.
We investigate the influence of the chimney topology $T\times T\times R$ of the Universe on the gravitational potential and force that are generated by point-like massive bodies. We obtain three distinct expressions for the solutions. One follows from Fourier expansion of delta functions into series using periodicity in two toroidal dimensions. The second one is the summation of solutions of the Helmholtz equation, for a source mass and its infinitely many images, which are in the form of Yukawa potentials. The third alternative solution for the potential is formulated via the Ewald sums metho…
Strongly lensed type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) are expected to have some advantages in measuring time delays of multiple images, and so they have a great potential to be developed into a powerful late-universe cosmological probe. In this paper, we simulate a sample of lensed SNe Ia with time-delay measurements in the era of the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). Based on the distance sum rule, we use lensed SNe Ia to implement model-independent constraints on the Hubble constant $H_0$ and cosmic curvature parameter $Ω_K$ in the late universe. We find that if 20 lensed SNe Ia could be observe…
We study the effect of the slab topology $T\times R\times R$ of the Universe on the form of gravitational potentials and forces created by point-like masses. We obtain two alternative forms of solutions: one is based on the Fourier series expansion of the delta function using the periodical property along the toroidal dimension, and another one is derived by direct summation of solutions of the Helmholtz equation for the source particle and all its images. The latter one takes the form of the sum of Yukawa-type potentials. We demonstrate that for the present Universe the latter solution is pre…
We present a model of the gravitational field based on two symmetric tensors. Gravity is affected by the new field, but outside matter the predictions of the model coincide exactly with general relativity, so all classical tests are satisfied. We find that massive particles do not follow a geodesic while massless particles trajectories are null geodesics of an effective metric. We study the Cosmological case, where we get an accelerated expansion of the universe without dark energy. We also introduce the possibility to explain dark matter with $\tildeδ$ gravity.
In this paper we propose that cosmological time is a quantum observable that does not commute with other quantum operators essential for the definition of cosmological states, notably the cosmological constant. This is inspired by properties of a measure of time---the Chern-Simons time---and the fact that in some theories it appears as a conjugate to the cosmological constant, with the two promoted to non-commuting quantum operators. Thus, the Universe may be "delocalised" in time: it does not {\it know} the time, a property which opens up new cosmological scenarios, as well as invalidating se…
The scalar perturbation induced gravitational waves are a probe of the primordial density perturbation spectrum on small scales. In this paper, we show that they can also probe the thermal history of the universe. We assume the universe underwent a stage with a constant equation of state parameter $w$, followed by the radiation-dominated stage of the conventional big bang universe. We find that the infrared slope of the power spectrum of the induced stochastic gravitational wave background for decelerating cosmologies is related to the equation of state of the universe. Furthermore, the induce…
We study the effect of a bubble wall on the entanglement entropy of a free massive scalar field between two causally disconnected open charts in de Sitter space. We assume there is a delta-functional wall between the open charts. This can be thought of as a model of pair creation of bubble universes in de Sitter space. We first derive the Euclidean vacuum mode functions of the scalar field in the presence of the wall in the coordinates that respect the open charts. We then derive the Bogoliubov transformation between the Euclidean vacuum and the open chart vacua that makes the reduced density …
The possible gamma ray burst occurred in location and temporal consistence with gravitational wave event GW150914, as reported by Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM), offers a new way of constraining models with extra dimensions. Using the time delay in arrival of the gamma ray transient observed by Fermi GBM relative to the gravitational waves event triggered by the LIGO detectors we investigate the size of the spherical brane-universe expanding in multi-dimensional space-time. It is shown that a joint observation of gravitational waves in association with gamma ray burst can provide a very s…
This is a brief summary of a talk delivered at the Special Session of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 25 May 2011. The meeting was devoted to the 90-th anniversary of A. D. Sakharov. The focus of this contribution is on the standing-wave pattern of quantum-mechanically generated metric (gravitational field) perturbations as the origin of subsequent Sakharov oscillations in the matter power spectrum. Other related phenomena, particularly in the area of gravitational waves, and their observational significance are also discussed.
