In recent times there is a surge of interest in constructing Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) gravity, in the limit $D \to 4 $, of the $D$-dimensional EGB gravity. Interestingly, the static spherically symmetric solutions in the various proposed $D \to 4 $ regularized EGB gravities coincide, and incidentally some other theories also admit the same solution. We prove a theorem that characterizes a large family of nonstatic or radiating spherically symmetric solutions to the $4D$ EGB gravity, representing, in general, spherically symmetric Type II fluid. An extension of the theorem, given without proof as being similar to the original theorem, generates static spherically symmetric black hole solutions of the theory. It not only enables us to identify available known black hole solutions as particular cases but also to generate several new solutions of the $4D$ EGB gravity.
In the present work we study (i) charged black hole in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) theory, known as Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet (EMGB) black hole and (ii) black hole in EGB gravity with Yang-Mills field. The thermodynamic geometry of these two black hole solutions has been investigated, using the modified entropy in Gauss-Bonnet theory.
This paper deals with five-dimensional black hole solutions in (a) Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet theory and (b)Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet theory with a cosmological constant for spherically symmetric space time. The geometry of the black hole thermodynamics has been studied for both the black holes.
We consider black hole in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet(EGB) gravity in a dynamical setup and also the stationary black hole in recently discovered\cite{Glavan} $4$-dimensional novel Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. For dynamical EGB black hole in completely local settings we calculate the temperature associated with the horizon. For the stationary black hole in $4$-dimensional novel EGB theory we explore the thermodynamic properties including calculation of temperature and entropy.
By adopting the 5D version of the Wu-Yang Ansatz we present in closed form a black hole solution in the Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet (EYMGB) theory. In the EYM limit, we recover the 5D black hole solution already known.
We study a solution of the Einstein-Gauus-Bonnet theory in 5 dimensions coupled to a Maxwell field, whose euclidean continuation gives rise to an instanton describing black hole pair production. We also discuss the dual theory with a 3-form field coupled to gravity.
We study the phase space of the spherically symmetric solutions of the system obtained from the dimensional reduction of the six-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet action with a cosmological constant. We show that all the physical solutions have anti-de Sitter asymptotic behavior.
A Vaidya-based model of a radiating black-hole is studied in a 5-dimensional Einstein gravity with Gauss-Bonnet contribution of quadratic curvature terms. The structure and locations of the apparent and event horizons of the radiating black hole are determined.
The objective of this paper is to analyze the weak deflection angle of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in the presence of plasma medium. To attain our results, we implement the Gibbons and Werner approach and use the Gauss-Bonnet theorem to Einstein gravity to acquire the resulting deflection angle of photon's ray in the weak field limit. Moreover, we illustrate the behavior of plasma medium and non-plasma mediums on the deflection of photon's ray in the framework of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. Similarly, we observe the graphical influences of deflection angle on Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity…
This paper gives a new, simple and concise derivation of brane actions and brane dynamics in general relativity and in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We present a unified treatment, applicable to timelike surface layers and spacelike transition layers, and including consideration of the more difficult lightlike case.
We study the phase space of the spherically symmetric solutions of the system obtained from the dimensional reduction of the six-dimensional Einstein-Gauss- Bonnet action. We show the existence of solutions with nonflat asymptotic behavior.
We consider the Gauss-Bonnet corrected Bardeen black hole solution in 4-D AdS space-time. The solution is obtained by the limiting procedure adopted by Glavan and Lin in 4-D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. The general form of first law of black hole thermodynamics is utilized to calculate various thermodynamics variables. The solution exhibit P-v criticality and belong to the universality class of van-der Waals fluid. The effect of Gauss-Bonnet coupling is investigated on critical parameters and inversion temperature.
We study the asymptotic behavior of the spherically symmetric solutions of the system obtained from the dimensional reduction of the six-dimensional Einstein- Gauss-Bonnet action. We show that in general the scalar field that parametrizes the size of the internal space is not trivial, but nevertheless the solutions depend on a single parameter. In analogy with other models containing Gauss-Bonnet terms, naked singularities are avoided if a minimal radius for the horizon is assumed.
In this paper, we find some new exact solutions to the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet equations. First, we prove a theorem which allows us to find a large family of solutions to the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in $n$-dimensions. This family of solutions represents dynamic black holes and contains, as particular cases, not only the recently found Vaidya-Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole, but also other physical solutions that we think are new, such as, the Gauss-Bonnet versions of the Bonnor-Vaidya(de Sitter/anti-de Sitter) solution, a global monopole and the Husain black holes. We also present a more …
We present a general formalism for describing singular hypersurfaces in the Einstein theory of gravitation with a Gauss--Bonnet term. The junction conditions are given in a form which is valid for the most general embedding and matter content and for coordinates chosen independently on each side of the hypersurface. The theory is applied to both a time--like and a light--like hypersurface in brane--cosmology.
We consider a Lemaitre - Tolman - Bondi type space-time in Einstein gravity with the Gauss-Bonnet combination of quadratic curvature terms, and present exact solution in closed form. It turns out that the presence of the coupling constant of the Gauss-Bonnet terms alpha > 0 completely changes the causal structure of the singularities from the analogous general relativistic case. The gravitational collapse of inhomogeneous dust in the five-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet extended Einstein equations leads to formation of a massive, but weak, timelike singularity which is forbidden in general relativity…
A self-interacting SU(2)-doublet of complex scalar fields, minimally coupled to Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity is considered in five space-time dimensions. The classical equations admit two families of solitons corresponding to spinning and non-spinning bosons stars. The generic solutions are constructed numerically and agree with exact results that are available in special limits of the parameters. The pattern of the boson stars is shown to be qualitatively affected by the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant.
In this paper, we treat 4-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity as general relativity with an effective stress-energy tensor. We will study the modified Oppenheimer-Snyder-Datt model of the gravitational collapse of a star in a 4-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole. The inside geometry of the star is described by the spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric and the matter is distributed uniformly without any pre-assumption about its equation of state. The exterior Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole is smoothly matched to the interior geometry without the requirement of any t…
We investigate the absorption cross section of planar scalar massless waves impinging on spherically symmetric black holes which are solutions of the novel 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory of gravity. Besides the mass of the black hole, the solution depends also on the Gauss-Bonnet constant coupling. Using the partial waves approach, we show that the absorption cross section depends on the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant. Our numerical results present excellent agreement with the low- and high- frequency approximations, including the so-called sinc approximation.
We investigate the dynamics of a d-dimensional domain wall (DW) in a d+1-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) bulk. Exact effective potential induced by the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) term on the wall is derived. In the absence of the GB term we recover the familiar gravitational and anti-harmonic oscillator potentials. Inclusion of the GB correction gives rise to a minimum radius of bounce for the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe expanding with a negative pressure on the DW.
We construct rotating black holes in Einstein-scalar-Gauss-Bonnet theory with a quadratic coupling function. We map the domain of existence of the rotating fundamental solutions, we construct radially excited rotating black holes (including their existence lines), and we show that there are angularly excited rotating black holes. The bifurcation points of the radially and angularly excited solutions branching out of the Schwarzschild solution follow a regular pattern.
In this paper we are looking for the exponential solutions (i.e. the solutions with the scale factors change exponentially over time) in the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We argue that we found all possible non-constant-volume solutions (up to permutations) in lower dimensions ((4+1) and (5+1)) and developed a scheme which allows one to find necessary conditions in arbitrary dimension.
We investigated the superradiance and stability of the novel 4D charged Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole which is recently inspired by Glavan and Lin [Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 081301 (2020)]. We found that the positive Gauss-Bonnet coupling consant $α$ enhances the superradiance, while the negative $α$ suppresses it. The condition for superradiant instability is proved. We also worked out the quasinormal modes (QNMs) of the charged Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole and found that the real part of all the QNMs live beyond the superradiance condition and the imaginary parts are all negative. Therefo…
We present a numerical solution on a 5-dimensional spherically symmetric space time, in Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet theory using a two point boundary value routine. It turns out that the Gauss-Bonnet contribution has a profound influence on the behaviour of the particle-like solution: it increases the number of nodes of the YM field. When a negative cosmological constant in incorporated in the model, it turns out that there is no horizon and no singular behaviour of the model. For positive cosmological constant the model has singular behaviour.
We have investigated tidal forces and geodesic deviation motion in the 4D-Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet spacetime. Our results show that tidal force and geodesic deviation motion depend sharply on the sign of Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant. Comparing with Schwarzschild spacetime, the strength of tidal force becomes stronger for the negative Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant, but is weaker for the positive one. Moreover, tidal force behaves like those in the Schwarzschild spacetime as the coupling constant is negative, and like those in Reissner-Nordström black hole as the constant is positive. We also pr…
We consider a $(4 + 2k)$ - dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet model with the cosmological $Λ$-term. Exact stable solutions with three constant Hubble-like parameters in this model are obtained. In this case, the multidimensional cosmological model deals with three factor spaces: the external 3-dimensional "our" world and internal subspaces with dimensions $k_1 = k$ and $k_2=k$.
We explore charged black hole solutions in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in five dimensions, with a charged scalar hair. We interpret such hairy black holes as the final state of the superradiant instability previously reported for this system. We explore the relation of the hairy black hole solutions with the non-backreacting quasibound states and scalar clouds, as well as with the boson star solutions.
We consider a $(7 + k)$-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet model with the cosmological $Λ$-term. A cosmological model with three factor spaces of dimensions $3$, $3$ and $k$, $k > 2$ is considered. Exact stable solutions with three (non-coinciding) Hubble-like parameters in this model are obtained. Some examples of solutions (e.g. with zero variation of the effective gravitational constant $G$) are considered in selected dimensions (for $k = 5, 6$).
We study the thermodynamic properties of black hole horizons in Einstein Gauss Bonnet gravity. We derive the thermodynamic products of characteristic parameters to mark which are global. We further interpret the stability of the black holes by computing the specific heat for both horizons. Stable and unstable phases of horizons are pointed out. The phase transitions with respect to the charge in nature of specific heat are also observed. All these calculation might be helpful to understand the microscopic nature of such black holes.
We investigate $4D$ Einstein-Gauss-bonnet gravity coupled to exponential electrodynamics in AdS background and found a static, spherically symmetric exact black hole solution. The horizon structure of black hole is discussed. Treating the cosmological constant as pressure, we drive first law of black hole thermodynamics in extended phase space. We compute the electrostatic potential and vacuum polarization of the black hole. To study local thermodynamical stability specific heat of the black hole is computed. Finally, we study Helmholtz free energy to analyse the global stability of black hole…
We consider rapidly rotating black holes and neutron stars in dilatonic Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGBd) theory and determine their quadrupole moments, which receive a contribution from the dilaton. The quadrupole moment of EGBd black holes can be considerably larger than the Kerr value. For neutron stars, the universality property of the $\hat I$-$\hat Q$ relation between the scaled moment of inertia and the scaled quadrupole moment appears to extend to EGBd theory.
In this paper, we have presented a compact object model in the framework of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity (EGB) with a linear equation of state considering a metric potential proposed for Buchdahl (1959). The new obtained models satisfy all physical requirements of a physically reasonable stellar object. We analyzed the effect of the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant α on the main physical characteristics of the model. We checked that the radial pressure, energy density and anisotropy are well defined and are regular in the interior of the star and are dependent of the values of the coupling cons…
Recently in (Phys. Rev. D 76, 087502 (2007) and Phys. Rev. D 77, 089903(E) (2008)) a thin-shell wormhole has been introduced in 5-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet (EMGB) gravity which was supported by normal matter. We wish to consider this solution and investigate its stability. Our analysis shows that for the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) parameter $α<0,$ stability regions form for a narrow band of finely-tuned mass and charge. For the case $α>0$, we iterate once more that no stable, normal matter thin-shell wormhole exists.
While quasinormal modes of bosonic fields for the non-trivial $4$-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory of gravity suggested in [D.~Glavan and C.~Lin, Phys.\ Rev.\ Lett.\ {\bf 124}, 081301 (2020)] have been recently studied, there is no such study for fermionic fields. Here we calculate quasinormal modes of the Dirac field for spherically symmetric asymptotically flat black hole in this novel $4D$ Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory. The values of the quasinormal frequencies, calculated by the 6th order WKB method with Padé approximants and the time-domain integration, show that the real part of t…
We studied the instability of the regularized 4D charged Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet de-Sitter black holes under charged scalar perturbations. The unstable modes satisfy the superradiant condition, but not all modes satisfying the superradiant condition are unstable. The instability occurs when the cosmological constant is small and the black hole charge is not too large. The Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant makes the unstable black hole more unstable when both the black hole charge and cosmological constant are small, and makes the stable black hole more stable when the black hole charge is large.
The Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in five dimensions is extended by scalar fields and the corresponding equations are reduced to a system of non-linear differential equations. A large family of regular solutions of these equations is shown to exist. Generically, these solutions are spinning black holes with scalar hairs. They can be characterized (but not uniquely) by an horizon and an angular velocity on this horizon. Taking particular limits the black holes approach boson star or become extremal, in any case the limiting configurations remain hairy.
Recently, it is found that the strong cosmic censorship (SCC) is violated in RNdS black hole by a minimal coupled neutral massless scalar field at the linear perturbation level. For the Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar-Gauss-Bonnet theory which is famous for the spontaneous scalarization phenomenon, there exists the scalar field coupled with the Gauss-Bonnet term. Whether the SCC of the RNdS black hole can be repaired by the non-minimal coupled scalar field perturbation at the linear level becomes an interesting question. In this paper, we firstly investigate the extendibility of the metric beyond the …
The post-Newtonian dynamics of black hole binaries in Einstein-scalar-Gauss-Bonnet theories of gravity depends on the so-called "sensitivities", quantities which characterize a black hole's adiabatic response to the time-dependent scalar field environment sourced by its companion. In this work, we calculate numerically the sensitivities of nonrotating black holes, including spontaneously scalarized ones, in three classes of Einstein-scalar-Gauss-Bonnet gravity: the shift-symmetric, dilatonic and Gaussian theories. When possible, we compare our results against perturbative analytical results, f…
Recently, a novel Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in four dimensions has been introduced [Phys. Rev. Lett. 124 (2020) 081301]. We will investigate cosmological consequences of this model in details. We will consider linear matter density perturbations and also estimate relevant modified gravity parameters. Specially we will concentrate on the growth rate of non-relativistic matter perturbations on top of FRW geometry and show that for a narrow range of the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant, observational data will be satisfied. In this paper, it is shown that for enough large values of the coupling…
Towards the investigation of the full dynamics in higher-dimensional and/or stringy gravitational model, we present the basic equations of the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity theory. We show $(N+1)$-dimensional version of the ADM decomposition including Gauss-Bonnet terms, which shall be the standard approach to treat the space-time as a Cauchy problem. Due to the quasi-linear property of the Gauss-Bonnet gravity, we find that the evolution equations can be in a treatable form in numerics. We also show the conformally-transformed constraint equations for constructing an initial data. We discuss …
Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity is a generalization of the general relativity to higher dimensions in which the first and second-order terms correspond to general relativity and Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity respectively. We construct a new class of five-dimensional (5D) thin-shell wormholes by the `Cut-Paste' technique from black holes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity inspired by non-commutative geometry starting with a static spherically symmetric, Gaussian mass distribution as a source and for this structural form of the thin shell wormhole we have explored several salient features of the sol…
Thin-shell wormholes are constructed starting from the exotic branch of Wiltshire spherically symmetric solution of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. The energy-momentum tensor of the shell is studied, and it is shown that configurations supported by matter satisfying the energy conditions exist for certain values of the parameters. Differing from the previous result associated to the normal branch of Wiltshire solution, this is achieved for small positive values of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter and for vanishing charge.
We investigate the regularized four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet ($4D$ EGB) gravity with a non-minimal scalar coupling function, which is an extension of the regularized $4D$ EGB theory. By introducing non-minimal coupling to the Gauss-Bonnet term, we demonstrate the additional contribution to the dynamical equations which is otherwise absent in the dimensionally-regularized theory. Furthermore, we analyze the stability of the system by using the dynamical system approach based on fixed points. Then, we consider the time evolution to investigate the history of the universe and constraint …
The quasinormal modes for a scalar field in the background spacetime corresponding to a black hole, with a cloud of strings, in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, and the tensor quasinormal modes corresponding to perturbations in such spacetime, were both calculated using the WKB approximation. In the obtained results we emphasize the role played by the parameter associated with the string cloud, comparing them with the results already obtained for the Boulware-Deser metric. We also study how the Gauss-Bonnet correction to general relativity affects the results for the quasinormal modes, comparing…
We study the evolution of a self interacting scalar field in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory in four dimension where the scalar field couples non minimally with the Gauss-Bonnet term. Considering a polynomial coupling of the scalar field with the Gauss-Bonnet term, a self-interaction potential and an additional perfect fluid distribution alongwith the scalar field, we investigate different possibilities regarding the outcome of the collapsing scalar field. The strength of the coupling and choice of the self-interaction potential serves as the pivotal initial conditions of the models presented. Th…
We examine the interaction between massless scalar fields and the gravitational field generated by a black hole solution that was recently obtained in the consistent well-defined 4-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with a cosmological constant. In order to do this, we calculate quasibound state frequencies of scalar fields for the spherically symmetric black hole in the consistent 4-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet-de Sitter and Anti-de Sitter theories. The expression for the quasibound states is obtained by using the polynomial condition associated to the Heun functions, and their va…
As we know that the Lovelock theory is an extension of the general relativity to the higher-dimensions, in this theory the first and the second order terms correspond to the general relativity and the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, respectively. We obtain a $5D$ black hole solution in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity surrounded by the quintessence matter, and also analyze their thermodynamical properties. Owing to the quintessence corrected black hole, the thermodynamic quantities have also been corrected except for the black hole entropy, and phase transition is achievable. The phase transition …
We consider a $(m+2)$-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet model with the cosmological $Λ$-term. We restrict the metrics to be diagonal ones and find for certain $Λ= Λ(m)$ class of cosmological solutions with non-exponential time dependence of two scale factors of dimensions $m > 2$ and $1$. Any solutions from this class describes an accelerated expansion of $m$-dimensional subspace and tends asymptotically to isotropic solution with exponental dependence of scale factors.
We consider the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet equations in five dimensions including a negative cosmological constant and a Maxwell field. Using an appropriate Ansatz for the metric and for the electromagnetic fields, we construct numerically black holes with two equal angular momenta in the two orthogonal space-like planes of space-time. Families of such solutions, labeled by the angular momentum and by the electric charge are obtained for many representative intervals of the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant $α$. It is argued that, for fixed values of $α$, the solutions terminate into extremal black ho…
We study the possibility that in the model introduced in \cite{GBN}, the Gauss-Bonnet term alone gives rise to the cosmic acceleration and super-acceleration in four-dimensional FLRW space-time at the late time. We also discuss transitions from deceleration to acceleration and acceleration to super-acceleration. We show that the Gauss-Bonnet invariant can drive the acceleration in the low redshift provided that its regularized coefficient has the same order as the squared of the ratio of the reduced Planck mass to the Hubble parameter.
In this paper, we have investigated the dynamics of magnetized particles around 4-D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole immersed in an external asymptotically uniform magnetic field. We have shown that the magnetic interaction parameter responsible for circular orbits decreases for negative values of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter $α$ and the range where magnetized particle's stable circular orbits are allowed increases for the positive values of the parameter $α$. The study of the collisions of magnetized, charged and neutral particles has shown that the center-of-mass energy of the particles increa…
Low energy limits of a string theory suggest that the gravity action should include quadratic and higher-order curvature terms, in the form of dimensionally continued Gauss-Bonnet densities. Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet is a natural extension of the general relativity to higher dimensions in which the first and second-order terms correspond, respectively, to general relativity and Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We obtain five-dimensional ($5D$) black hole solutions, inspired by a noncommutative geometry, with a static spherically symmetric, Gaussian mass distribution as a source both in the general r…
In this paper, we investigate the shadow radius and quasinormal modes of a four-dimensional magnetically charged Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet Bardeen black hole and point out a simple connection between them in the eikonal limit. By studying a massless scalar field perturbation in this spacetime background and using the sixth-order Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin(WKB) approximation, we get the quasinormal modes(QNMs) and perform a detailed analysis. It shows that the quasinormal modes are depend on the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant and the magnetic charge. We also give a formula of the QNMs and shadow rad…
This paper is devoted to study the stability/instability of the expansionfree self gravitating source in the framework of Einstein Gauss-Bonnet gravity. The source has been taken as Tolman-Bondi model which is homogenous in nature. The field equations as dynamical equations have been evaluated in Gauss-Bonnet gravity in five dimensions. The junction conditions as well as cavity evaluations equations have been explored in detail. The perturbation scheme of first order has been applied to dynamical as Einstein Gauss-Bonnet field equations. The concept of Newtonian as well post Newtonian approxim…
In this letter we present an exact spherically symmetric and magnetically charged black hole solution with exponential model of nonlinear electrodynamics [S. Kruglov, Annals Phys. 378, 59-70 (2017)] in the context of 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) gravity. We show that our $-$ve branch, in the limit of GB coupling coefficient $α\rightarrow 0$ and the nonlinear parameter $β\to 0$, reduces to the magnetically charged black hole of Einstein-Maxwell gravity in GR. In addition we study the embedding diagram of the black hole geometry and the thermodynamic properties such as the Hawking temperature …
The regularized four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet model has been recently proposed in [D. Glavan and C. Lin, Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{124}, 081301 (2020)] whose formulation is different of the Einstein theory, allowing us to bypass the Lovelock theorem. The action is formulated in higher dimensions ($D>4$) by adding the Gauss-Bonnet correction to the conventional Einstein-Hilbert action with a cosmological constant. The four-dimensional spacetime is constructed through dimensional regularization by taking the limit $D\rightarrow 4$. We find explicitly the parametric regions of stability o…
We study the linear instability of the charged massless scalar perturbation in regularized 4D charged Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet-AdS black holes by exploring the quasinormal modes. We find that the linear instability is triggered by superradiance. The charged massless scalar perturbation becomes more unstable when increasing the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant or the black hole charge. Meanwhile, decreasing} the AdS radius will make the charged massless scalar perturbation} more stable. The stable region in parameter space $(α,Q,Λ)$ is given. Moreover, we find that the charged massless scalar pertur…
