We study the processes $K\bar{K} \to ϕ$, $πD \to D^\ast$, $π\bar{D} \to \bar{D}^\ast$, and the production of $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, and $ψ(4415)$ mesons in collisions of charmed mesons or charmed strange mesons. The process of 2-to-1 meson-meson scattering involves a quark and an antiquark from the two initial mesons annihilating into a gluon and subsequently the gluon being absorbed by the spectator quark or antiquark. Transition amplitudes for the scattering process derive from the transition potential in conjunction with mesonic quark-antiquark wave functions and the relative-motion wave function of the two initial mesons. We derive these transition amplitudes in the partial wave expansion of the relative-motion wave function of the two initial mesons so that parity and total-angular-momentum conservation are maintained. We calculate flavor and spin matrix elements in accordance with the transition potential and unpolarized cross sections for the reactions using the transition amplitudes. Cross sections for the production of $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, and $ψ(4415)$ relate to nodes in their radial wave functions. We suggest the production of $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, and $ψ(4415)$ as probes of hadronic matter that results from the quark-gluon plasma created in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions.
We study 2-to-3 meson-meson scattering based on the process that a gluon is created from a constituent quark or antiquark and subsequently the gluon creates a quark-antiquark pair. The transition potential for the process is derived in QCD. Eight Feynman diagrams at tree level are involved in the 2-to-3 meson-meson scattering. Starting from the $S$-matrix element, we derive the unpolarized cross section from the eight transition amplitudes corresponding to the eight Feynman diagrams. The transition amplitudes contain color, spin, and flavor matrix elements. The 2-to-3 meson-meson scattering in…
We study two kinds of inelastic meson-meson scattering. The first kind is inelastic 2-to-2 meson-meson scattering that is governed by quark interchange as well as quark-antiquark annihilation and creation. Cross-section formulas are provided to get unpolarized cross sections for $πK \to ρK^\ast$ for $I=1/2$, $πK^\ast \to ρK$ for $I=1/2$, $πK^\ast \to ρK^\ast$ for $I=1/2$, and $ρK \to ρK^\ast$ for $I=1/2$. Near threshold, quark interchange dominates the reactions near the critical temperature. The second kind is 2-to-1 meson-meson scattering with the process that a quark in an initial meson and…
We calculate the cross section for the dissociation of $J/ψ$ by kaons within the framework of a meson exchange model including anomalous parity interactions. Off-shell effects at the vertices were handled with QCD sum rule estimates for the running coupling constants. The total $J/ψ$-kaon cross section was found to be $1.0 \sim1.6$ mb for $4.1\leq\sqrt{s}\leq5 \GeV$.
In this work we study the energy dependence of the $J/ψ-K^*$ dissociation cross section, using a meson exchange model based on effective hadronic Lagrangian that includes couplings between pseudoscalar and vector mesons. We also consider anomalous parity terms. Off-shell effects at the vertices were handled with QCD sum rule estimates for the running coupling constants, and we compare the results with and without form factors. We also study the $J/ψ-ρ$ cross section with form factors. The total $J/ψ-K^*$ cross section was found to be $1.6 \sim1.9$ mb for $4.2\leq\sqrt{s}\leq5~\GeV$.
We evaluate the quasielastic double differential neutrino cross sections obtained in a phenomenological model based on the superscaling behavior of electron scattering data. We compare our results with the recent experimental data for neutrinos of MiniBooNE and estimate the contribution of the vector meson-exchange currents in the 2p-2h sector.
We study unpolarized cross sections for the endothermic nonresonant reactions: pion pion to rho rho for I=2, KK to K*K* for I=1, KK* to K*K* for I=1, pion K to rho K* for I=3/2, pion K* to rho K* for I=3/2, rho K to rho K* for I=3/2, and pion K* to rho K for I=3/2, which take place in hadronic matter. We provide a potential that is given by perturbative QCD with loop corrections at short distances, becomes a distance-independent and temperature-dependent value at long distances, and has a spin-spin interaction with relativistic modifications. The Schrodinger equation with the potential yields …
We present numerical results for the dissociation cross sections of ground-state, orbitally- and radially-excited charmonia in collisions with light mesons. Our results are derived using the nonrelativistic quark model, so all parameters are determined by fits to the experimental meson spectrum. Examples of dissociation into both exclusive and inclusive final states are considered. The dissociation cross sections of several C=(+) charmonia may be of considerable importance for the study of heavy ion collisions, since these states are expected to be produced more copiously than the J/psi. The r…
The $J/ψ$ dissociation by $π$ and $ρ$ mesons is examined in meson exchange model and compared to the quark interchange model. We found that the main difference between the predictions of the two models could be resolved by the form factors and the contact interactions in meson exchange model calculations. By adopting covariant form factors and adjusting the four-point couplings, we found that the meson exchange model could give similar predictions with the quark interchange models not only for the magnitudes but also for the energy dependence of the low-energy dissociation cross sections of th…
With quark-antiquark annihilation and creation in the first Born approximation, we study the reactions: $K \bar {K} \to K \bar {K}^\ast, ~K \bar{K} \to K^* \bar{K}, ~πK \to πK^\ast, ~πK \to ρK, ~ππ\to K \bar{K}^\ast, ~ππ\to K^\ast \bar{K}, ~ππ\to K^\ast \bar{K}^\ast, ~πρ\to K \bar{K}, ~πρ\to K^\ast \bar{K}^\ast, ~ρρ\to K^\ast \bar{K}^\ast, ~K \bar{K}^\ast \to ρρ$, and $K^* \bar{K} \to ρρ$. Unpolarized cross sections for the reactions are obtained from transition amplitudes that are composed of mesonic quark-antiquark relative-motion wave functions and the transition potential for quark-antiqua…
We show the results for the scattering poles associated to the rho, f0, a0, K*, sigma and kappa resonances in meson-meson scattering. Our amplitudes are obtained from the complete one-loop meson-meson scattering amplitudes from Chiral Perturbation Theory. Once unitarized with the Inverse Amplitude Method, they describe remarkably well the data simultaneously in the low energy and resonance regions up to 1.2 GeV, using low energy parameters compatible with present determinations.
We study kaon-charmonium and eta-charmonium dissociation reactions. The K-charmonium dissociation and the eta-charmonium dissociation include 27 reactions. Cross sections for the reactions are calculated in the Born approximation, in the quark-interchange mechanism and with a temperature-dependent quark potential. The temperature dependence of peak cross sections of endothermic reactions is linked to the temperature dependence of quark-antiquark relative-motion wave functions, meson masses and the quark potential. Although the eta meson and kaon have similar masses, the energy and temperature …
K*-charmonium dissociation reactions in hadronic matter are studied in the Born approximation, in the quark-interchange mechanism, and with a temperature-dependent quark potential. We obtain the temperature dependence of unpolarized cross sections for K*-charmonium dissociation reactions which produce charmed mesons and charmed strange mesons. We use the cross sections for charmonium dissociation in collisions with pion, rho meson, kaon, vector kaon, and eta meson to calculate dissociation rates of charmonium with the five types of mesons. Because of the temperature dependence of the meson mas…
Dirac's relativistic constraint dynamics have been successfully applied to obtain a covariant nonperturbative description of QED and QCD bound states. We use this formalism to describe a microscopic theory of meson-meson scattering as a relativistic generalization of the nonrelativistic quark-interchange model developed by Barnes and Swanson.
Hidden charm mesons continue playing an essential role as relevant probes to understand the evolution of partonic matter. It is expected that the charmonia that survived the quark-gluon plasma phase suffer collisions with other particles composing the hadronic matter. In this work, we intend to contribute on this subject by presenting an updated study about the interactions of $J/ψ$ with surrounding hadronic medium. The meson-meson interactions are described with a $SU(4)$ effective Lagrangian, and within the framework of unitarized coupled channel amplitudes projected onto s-wave. The symmetr…
We study the production of non-strange mesons in proton-proton scattering reactions within an effective model of mesons and baryons with global chiral symmetry. The model includes the nucleon ($N$) and its chiral partner ($N^{\ast}$) and their couplings to the $N_{f}=2$ multiplets of (pseudo-)scalar and (axial-)vector mesons. Results for the production of $ω$ and $η$ mesons are presented.
An investigation of the s-wave channels in meson-meson scattering is performed within a U(3) chiral unitary approach. Our calculations are based on a chiral effective Lagrangian which includes the eta' as an explicit degree of freedom and incorporates important features of the underlying QCD Lagrangian such as the axial U(1) anomaly. We employ a coupled channel Bethe-Salpeter equation to generate poles from composed states of two pseudoscalar mesons. Our results are compared with experimental phase shifts up to 1.5 GeV and effects of the eta' within this scheme are discussed.
A new tool which combines chiral perturbation theory and unitarity in coupled channels is applied with success to the study of the meson-meson interaction, extending the theoretical predictions up to sqrt{s} = 1.2 GeV, hence improving considerably the convergence radius of conventional chiral perturbation theory. The method is applied to obtain the meson-meson phase shifts and inelasticities as well as the isoscalar pion-pion scattering amplitude inside a nuclear medium.
We apply a quark interchange model to spin-dependent and exotic meson-meson scattering. The model includes the complete set of standard quark model forces, including OGE spin-orbit and tensor and scalar confinement spin-orbit. Scattering amplitudes derived assuming SHO and Coulomb plus linear plus hyperfine meson wavefunctions are compared. In I=2 pi pi we find approximate agreement with the S-wave phase shift from threshold to 1.5 GeV, where we predict an extremum that is supported by the data. Near threshold we find rapid energy dependence that may reconcile theoretical estimates of small sc…
We present the complete one-loop calculation of all the two meson scattering amplitudes within the framework of SU(3) Chiral Perturbation Theory, which includes pions, kaons and the eta. In addition, we have unitarized these amplitudes with the coupled channel Inverse Amplitude Method, which ensures simultaneously the good low energy properties of Chiral Perturbation Theory and unitarity. We show how this method provides a remarkable description of meson-meson scattering data up to 1.2 GeV including the scattering lengths and the generation of seven light resonances, which is consistent with p…
We study the quark-antiquark scattering phase shift and meson spectral function in the pion superfluid described by the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. The meson mixing in the pion superfluid changes dramatically the full scattering phase shift and spreads strongly the spectral function of some of the collective modes.
We evaluate quasielastic double-differential antineutrino cross sections obtained in a phenomenological model based on the superscaling behavior of electron scattering data and estimate the contribution of the vector meson-exchange currents in the 2p-2h sector. We show that the impact of meson-exchange currents for charge-changing antineutrino reactions is much larger than in the neutrino case.
The scattering cross sections of charm mesons with hadrons such as the pion, rho meson, and nucleon are studied in an effective Lagrangian. In heavy ion collisions, rescattering of produced charm mesons by hadrons affects the invariant mass spectra of both charm meson pairs and dileptons resulting from their decays. These effects are estimated for heavy ion collisions at SPS energies and are found to be significant.
Flux tube zero-point motion produces quark displacements transverse to the flux tube which make significant contributions to hadronic charge radii. In heavy quark systems, these contributions can be related by Bjorken's sum rule to the rates for semileptonic decay to hybrid mesons. This connection can be generalized to other leptoproduction processes, where transverse contributions to elastic form factor slopes are related to the cross sections for the production of the associated hybrid states. I identify the flux tube overlap integral responsible for these effects as the strong QCD analogue …
In this work, we perform the one-loop calculation of the scalar and pseudoscalar form factors in the framework of U(3) chiral perturbation theory with explicit tree level exchanges of resonances. The meson-meson scattering calculation from Ref.[1] is extended as well. The spectral functions of the nonet scalar-scalar (SS) and pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar (PP) correlators are constructed by using the corresponding form factors. After fitting the unknown parameters to the scattering data, we discuss the resonance content of the resulting scattering amplitudes. We also study spectral-function sum ru…
Sum rules are derived relating mean squared charge radii of the pseudoscalar mesons with the convergent integral of the difference of hadron photoproduction cross-sections on pseudoscalar mesons.
Critical examination is made on the relation between the mass shift of vector mesons in nuclear medium and the vector-meson $-$ nucleon scattering length. We give detailed comparison between the QCD sum rule approach by two of the present authors (Phys. Rev. {\bf C46} (1992) R34) and the scattering-length approach by Koike (Phys. Rev. {\bf C51} (1995) 1488). It is shown that the latter approach is mortally flawed both technically and conceptually.
We illustrate and discuss the role of meson-exchange currents in quasielastic neutrino-nucleus scattering induced by charged currents, comparing the results with the recent MiniBooNE data for differential and integrated cross sections.
We examine flavor SU(3) breaking effects on meson-baryon scattering amplitudes in the chiral unitary model. It turns out that the SU(3) breaking, which appears in the leading quark mass term in the chiral expansion, can not explain the channel dependence of the subtraction parameters of the model, which are crucial to reproduce the observed scattering amplitudes and resonance properties.
We study the nature of the scalar D_0 meson from the viewpoint of chiral symmetry. With the linear representation of chiral symmetry, we construct the D pi scattering amplitude satisfying the chiral low-energy theorem, in which the D_0 meson appears as an s-wave resonance. We show that the properties of the D_0 meson can be successfully reproduced as the chiral partner of the D meson coupled with the D pi scattering states. At the same time, we find that the spectral function and the pole position of D_0 are not very sensitive to the reduction of the chiral condensate, indicating the importanc…
Instead of the fermion-fermion scattering which identifies the BCS-BEC crossover in cold atom systems, boson-boson scattering is measurable and characterizes the BCS-BEC crossover at quark level. We study $π$-$π$ scattering in a pion superfluid described by the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. We found that the scattering amplitude drops down monotonically with decreasing isospin density and finally vanishes at the boundary of the phase transition. This indicates a BCS-BEC crossover in the pion superfluid.
Exclusive diffractive processes on the nucleon are investigated within a model in which the quark-nucleon interaction is mediated by Pomeron exchange and the quark substructure of mesons is described within a framework based on the Dyson-Schwinger equations of QCD. The model quark-nucleon interaction has four parameters which are completely determined by high-energy $πN$ and $K N$ elastic scattering data. The model is then used to predict vector-meson electroproduction observables. The obtained $ρ$- and $ϕ$-meson electroproduction cross sections are in excellent agreement with experimental dat…
Integral equations for meson-baryon scattering amplitudes are obtained by utilizing time-ordered perturbation theory for a manifestly Lorentz-invariant formulation of baryon chiral perturbation theory. Effective potentials are defined as sums of two-particle irreducible contributions of time-ordered diagrams and the scattering amplitudes are obtained as solutions of integral equations. Ultraviolet renormalizability is achieved by solving integral equations for the leading order amplitude and including higher order corrections perturbatively. As an application of the developed formalism, pion-n…
We show that the differential cross section d_sigma/d_t of gamma p --> ϕp reaction at the threshold is finite and its value is crucial to the mechanism of the phi meson photoproduction and for the models of phi-N interaction.
We present a model for the polarized cross-sections of the hard diffractive leptoproduction of rho meson in the high energy limit. Our model is based on the light-cone collinear factorization of the virtual photon to rho meson impact factor when using the impact factor representation of the helicity amplitudes of the rho meson leptoproduction. This gauge invariant treatment when expressed in impact parameter space, leads to the factorization on one hand of the color dipole scattering amplitude and on the other hand of the distribution amplitudes of the rho meson up to twist 2 and 3. We show th…
Light vector meson leptoproduction is analyzed on the basis of the generalized parton distributions. Our results on the cross section and spin effects are in good agrement with experiment at HERA, COMPASS and HERMES energies. Predictions for $A_{UT}$ asymmetry for various reactions are presented.
Momenta of charmonia created in Pb-Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider are so large that three or more mesons may be produced when the charmonia collide with light mesons in hadronic matter. We study the meson-charmonium collision in a mechanism where the collision produces two quarks and two antiquarks, the charm quark then fragmenting into charmed mesons, and the other three constituents as well as quarks and antiquarks created from vacuum give rise to two or more mesons. The absolute square of the transition amplitude for the production of two quarks and two antiquarks is derived fro…
We review studies of inelastic meson-meson scattering. In nonperturbative schemes with chiral-perturbation-theory Lagrangians and in models based on effective meson Lagrangians, inelastic meson-meson scattering leads to the successful identification of resonances in meson-meson reactions, adequate inclusion of final state interactions in particle decays, and so on. For mesons of which each consists of a quark and an antiquark, inelastic meson-meson scattering may be caused by quark-antiquark annihilation, quark-antiquark creation, quark interchange, and quark-antiquark annihilation and creatio…
The Lund string fragmentation model is applied in a non-perturbative calculation of the invariant production cross section of pions from proton-proton collisions in the soft pT region. Invariant production cross sections of pions and kaons from proton-proton collisions in the hard pT region are calculated from the Feynman-Field perturbative QCD parton model. Parameterizations of these production invariant cross sections are described.
We study inelastic meson-meson scattering that is governed by quark-antiquark annihilation and creation involving a quark and an antiquark annihilating into a gluon, and subsequently the gluon creating another quark-antiquark pair. The resultant hadronic reactions include for I=1: pion + pion to rho + rho, kaon + antikaon to kaon* + antikaon*, kaon + antikaon* to kaon* + antikaon*, kaon* + antikaon to kaon* + antikaon*, as well as pion + pion to kaon + antikaon, pion + rho to kaon + antikaon*, pion + rho to kaon* + antikaon, and kaon + antikaon to rho + rho. In each reaction, one or two Feynma…
We suggest a new scheme for the introduction of formfactors for the SU(4) chiral meson Lagrangian approach to the J/psi breakup cross sections by pion and rho meson impact. This mesonic formfactor scheme respects the fact that on the quark level of description the contact and the meson exchange diagrams are constructed by so-called box and triangle diagrams which contain a different number of vertex functions for the quark-meson coupling. We present a model calculation for Gaussian vertex functions within the meson formfactor scheme and compare the results with those of the usual global formfa…
The coherent cross section of $J/ψ$, $ρ$, $ϕ$ are computed in dipole model in the ultraperipheral PbPb collisions, the IP-Sat and IIM model are applied in the calculation of the differential cross section of the dipole scattering off the nucleon, three kinds of forward vector meson wave functions are used in the overlap. The prediction of $J/ψ$ and $ρ$ is compared with the experimental data of the ALICE Collaboration, and the prediction of $ϕ$ is also given in this paper.
We calculate decuplet contributions to the s-wave pseudoscalar meson octet-baryon scattering lengths to the third order in heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HB$χ$PT). Using experimental pion-nucleon and kaon-nucleon scattering lengths as inputs, we determine low-energy constants and predict other meson-baryon scattering lengths. Numerically we consider three cases: (1) the case with only baryon octet contributions; (2) with decuplet contributions and (3) in the large N_c limit. Hopefully, the analytical expressions and the predictions are helpful to future investigations of the meson-ba…
We extend the formalism pioneered by Callan, Coote and Gross to investigate the meson-meson scattering within the framework of 't Hooft model, i.e., the two-dimensional QCD in the $N_c\to \infty$ limit. We derive the analytic expressions for various two-body meson-meson scattering amplitudes, concentrating on those quark diagrams which may be identified as the meson-meson contact interaction vertex in the context of the mesonic effective lagrangian in $1/N_c$ expansion. We also carry out a detailed numerical study for the meson-meson scattering for various quark flavors, and observe the near-t…
Based on the two-gluon-exchange dynamical mechanism for deeply inelastic scattering at low x ~= Q^2/W^2 <<1, we stress the intimate connection between the total virtual photoabsorption cross section, deeply virtual Compton scattering and vector-meson electroproduction. A simple expression for the cross section for deeply virtual Compton scattering is derived. Parameter-free predictions are obtained for deeply-virtual Compton forward scattering and vector-meson forward production, once the parameters in the total virtual photoabsorption cross section are determined in a fit to the experimental …
The comparison of B-meson production cross sections as the results of PYTHIA code and Quark Gluon String Model (QGSM) is carried out for energies of proton colliders: $Sp\bar(p)S$, Tevatron and LHC. Model predictions are based on the theory of supercritical Pomeron exchanges with the phenomenological intercept $Δ_P$(0)=0.3, accepted for heavy quark production.Transverse momentum spectra of B-mesons are also compared. It is shown that the cross sections calculated with PYTHIA using CTEQ structure functions are in a contradiction with the asymptotical estimation of B$\bar{B}$ production cross se…
We summarize the results of the SU(4) chiral meson Lagrangian approach to the cross section for J/psi breakup by pion and rho meson impact and suggest a new scheme for the introduction of formfactors for the meson-meson interaction. This scheme respects the fact that on the quark level of description the contact and the meson exchange diagrams are constructed by so-called box and triangle diagrams which contain a different number of vertex functions for the quark-meson coupling. A model calculation for Gaussian vertex functions is presented and the relative importance of contact and meson exch…
We review our recent one-loop calculation of all the two meson scattering amplitudes within SU(3) Chiral Perturbation Theory, i.e. with pions, kaons and etas. By unitarizing these amplitudes we are able to generate dynamically the lightest resonances in meson-meson scattering. We thus obtain a remarkable description of the meson-meson scattering data right from threshold up to 1.2 GeV, in terms of chiral parameters in good agreement with previous determinations.
We show that the ratio of the transverse to the longitudinal cross sections observed at HERA cannot be reproduced by models which assume that the meson can be described by an on-shell q qbar pair. We explain how a simple model allowing off-shell (anti)quarks can naturally lead to agreement with experiment.
There are generally two types of Wick contractions in lattice QCD calculations of a correlation function --- connected and disconnected ones. The disconnected contribution is difficult to calculate and noisy, thus it is often neglected. In the context of studying tetraquarks, hadronic molecules and meson-meson scattering, we show that whenever there are both connected and singly disconnected contractions, the singly disconnected part gives the leading order contribution, and thus should never be neglected. As an explicit example, we show that information about the scalar mesons sigma, f0(980),…
We calculate the chiral corrections to the s-wave pseudoscalar meson octet-baryon scattering lengths $a_{MB}$ to ${\cal O}(p^3)$ in the SU(3) heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HB$χ$PT). Hopefully the obtained analytical expressions will be helpful in the chiral extrapolation of these scattering lengths in the future lattice simulation.
We report on our one-loop calculation of all the two meson scattering amplitudes within SU(3) Chiral Perturbation Theory, i.e. with pions, kaons and etas. Once the amplitudes are unitarized with the coupled channel Inverse Amplitude Method, they satisfy simultaneously the correct low-energy chiral constraints and unitarity. We obtain a remarkable description of meson-meson scattering data up to 1.2 GeV including the scattering lengths and seven light resonances.
We calculate the complete $T$ matrices of the elastic light pseudoscalar meson and heavy meson scattering to the third order in heavy meson chiral perturbation theory. We determine the low-energy constants by fitting the phase shifts and scattering lengths from lattice QCD simulations simultaneously and predict the phase shifts at the physical meson masses. The phase shifts in the $Dπ(I=1/2)$, $DK(I=0)$, $D\bar{K}(I=0)$, $D_s\bar{K}$, $Dη$ and $D_sη$ $S$ waves are so strong that bound states or resonances may be generated dynamically in all these channels. The $DK(I=0)$ channel corresponds to …
Meson--photon--photon transition form factors for S-, P-, and D-wave states are calculated, the meson being treated as a non-relativistic heavy-quark--antiquark pair. The full dependence on both photon virtualities is included. Cross-section formulas for charge-conjugation even mesons with J^P = 0^-, 0^+, 1^+, 2^+, and 2^- in electron--positron collisions are presented and numerical results for LEP energies are given. In particular, we find two-photon event rates for χ_{\rc 1}, η_{\rc}(2S), and η_{\rb}(1S) within reach of LEP. With minor modifications to incorporate SU(3)-flavour breaking we e…
The total cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to p\bar{p}$ is calculated within the energy range close to the mass of $ψ(3770)$ charmonium state. It was shown that the main contribution to this cross section comes from three gluon mechanism which is also responsible of the large phase with respect to the Born amplitude. This phase provides the characteristic dip behaviour of the cross section in contrast to the usual Breit-Wigner peak shape. OZI-allowed mechanism with D-mesons in the intermediate state was also estimated and gives relatively small contribution to the cross section and to the…
Non-exotic scalar-meson resonances in S-wave meson-meson scattering are studied in the light of a unitarised Schroedinger model. The resulting poles in the scattering matrices, by analytical continuation into the complex-energy plane, are grouped into nonets of isoscalar, isodoublet, and isotriplet resonances. All singularities can be related to quark-antiquark confinement states, the light-quark nonet of which has ground states at 1.3 to 1.4 GeV and level spacings of some 300-400 MeV, except for a nonet of light scalar mesons below 1 GeV. All non-exotic S-wave resonances reported by experimen…
