We investigate $P$-wave bottom baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{6}_F$, and systematically study their $D$-wave decays into ground-state bottom baryons and pseudoscalar mesons. Together with [PRD91, 054034 (2015); PRD92, 114007 (2015); PRD95, 094008 (2017); EPJC80, 80 (2020)], a rather complete study is performed on both mass spectra and decay properties of $P$-wave bottom baryons, using the method of QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Among all the possibilities, we find four $Σ_b$, four $Ξ^\prime_b$, and six $Ω_b$ baryons, with limited widths and so capable of being observed. Their masses, mass splittings within the same multiplets, and decay properties are extracted (summarized in Table V) for future experimental searchings.
We study the scaled-energy (x_B) distribution of bottom-flavored hadrons (B) inclusively produced in top-quark decays at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme endowed with realistic, nonperturbative fragmentation functions that are obtained through a global fit to e^+e^- data from CERN LEP1 and SLAC SLC exploiting their universality and scaling violations. Specifically, we study the effects of gluon fragmentation and finite bottom-quark and B-hadron masses. We find the NLO corrections to be significant. Gluon fragmentation leads to an appreciable reducti…
We propose an $A_4$ extension of the Standard Model with a Lepton Quarticity symmetry correlating dark matter stability with the Dirac nature of neutrinos. The flavor symmetry predicts (i) a generalized bottom-tau mass relation involving all families, (ii) small neutrino masses are induced a la seesaw, (iii) CP must be significantly violated in neutrino oscillations, (iv) the atmospheric angle $θ_{23}$ lies in the second octant, and (v) only the normal neutrino mass ordering is realized.
We study the inclusive production of bottom-flavored hadrons from semileptonic decays of polarized top quarks at next-to-leading order in QCD using fragmentation functions recently determined from a global fit to $e^+e^-$ data. We provide the relevant differential decay widths at parton level in analytic form. These results fill an important gap in the theoretical interpretation of recent measurements of the top-quark polarization and the $t\bar{t}$ spin correlations using dilepton final states in proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. As an illustration, we study the dist…
We use QCD sum rules to study mass spectra of $P$-wave charmed baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{6}_F$. We also use light-cone sum rules to study their $S$- and $D$-wave decays into ground-state charmed baryons together with light pseudoscalar and vector mesons. We work within the framework of heavy quark effective theory, and we also consider the mixing effect. Our results can explain many excited charmed baryons as a whole, including the $Σ_c(2800)^0$, $Ξ_c(2923)^0$, $Ξ_c(2939)^0$, $Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0}$, $Ω_c(3000)^0$, $Ω_c(3050)^0$, $Ω_c(3066)^0$, $Ω_c(3090)^0$, and $Ω_c(3119)^0$. Their ma…
We use the method of QCD sum rules to study the $D$-wave charmed and bottom baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{6}_F$, and calculate their masses up to the order $\mathcal{O}(1/m_Q)$ with $m_Q$ the heavy quark mass. Our results suggest that the $Ξ_c(3123)$ can be well interpreted as a $D$-wave $Ξ_c^\prime(\mathbf{6}_F)$ state, and it probably has a partner state close to it. Our results also suggest that there may exist as many as four $D$-wave $Ω_c$ states in the energy region $3.3\sim3.5$ GeV, and we propose to search for them in the further LHCb and BelleII experiments.
We systematically study model-independent constraints on the three generic charged Higgs couplings to $b$-quarks and up-type quarks. While existing LHC searches have focussed on the $tb$ coupling, we emphasize that the LHC plays a crucial role in probing also $ub$ and $cb$ couplings, since constraints from flavor physics are weak. In particular we propose various new searches that can significantly extend the present reach on the parameter space by: i) looking for light charged Higgses that decay into $ub$-quarks, ii) probing charged Higgs couplings to light and top quarks using multi-$b$-jet …
We have systematically calculated the mass spectra for S-wave and P-wave fully-charm $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ and fully-bottom $b\bar{b}b\bar{b}$ tetraquark states in the $\mathbf{8}_{[Q\bar{Q}]}\otimes \mathbf{8}_{[Q\bar{Q}]}$ color configuration, by using the moment QCD sum rule method. The masses for the fully-charm $c\bar cc\bar c$ tetraquark states are predicted about $6.3-6.5$ GeV for S-wave channels and $7.0-7.2$ GeV for P-wave channels. These results suggest the possibility that there are some $\mathbf{8}_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes \mathbf{8}_{[c\bar{c}]}$ components in LHCb's di-$J/ψ$ structures. …
We construct a multiscalar and non-renormalizable model where the $\mathbf{S}_{3}$ flavor symmetry drives mainly the Yukawa couplings. In the quark sector, the Nearest Neighbor Interaction (NNI) textures are behind the CKM mixing matrix so that this is fitted in good agreement with the last available results. In the lepton sector, an almost diagonal charged lepton mass matrix and extended Fritzsch mass textures in the effective neutrino mass matrix, that comes from the type II see-saw mechanism, provide consistent values for the mixing angles where the normal hierarchy is favored. The model pr…
We explore a flavor structure of quarks in the standard model under the assumption that flavor symmetries exist in a theory beyond the standard model, and chase after their properties, using a bottom-up approach. We reacknowledge that a flavor-symmetric part of Yukawa coupling matrix can be realized by a rank-one matrix and a democratic-type one occupies a special position, based on Dirac's naturalness.
We provide results for the open-flavor strong decays of open-charm ($D$ and $D_{\rm s}$) and open-bottom ($B$, $B_{\rm s}$ and $B_{\rm c}$) mesons. The decays are calculated in a modified version of the $^3P_0$ pair-creation model, assuming harmonic oscillator wave functions. The spectra of open-charm and open-bottom mesons used in the calculations are computed within Godfrey and Isgur's relativized quark model. Quantum number assignments are also provided. Our results are compared with the existing experimental data.
Two variable flavor number schemes are used to describe bottom quark production in deep inelastic electron-proton scattering. In these schemes the coefficient functions are derived from mass factorization of the heavy quark coefficient functions presented in a fixed flavor number scheme. Also one has to construct a parton density set with five light flavors (u,d,s,c,b) out of a set which only contains four light flavors (u,d,s,c). In order $α_s^2$ the two sets are discontinuous at $μ=m_b$ which follows from mass factorization of the heavy quark coefficient functions when it is carried out in t…
This paper serves as an update of the previous work entitled ``Heavy-Flavor-Conserving Hadronic Weak Decays of Charmed and Bottom Baryons". We make an improvement on the bag wave functions by removing the center-of-mass motion of the bag. All the baryon matrix elements are now calculated under the same framework without introducing new parameters. The matrix elements of 4-quark operators are found to be nearly twice larger than the previous ones. The calculated branching fractions of $ Ξ_c ^0 \to Λ_c ^+π^-$ and $Ξ_b^- \to Λ^0_b π^-$ are both in agreement with current experimental results. For …
The bottom-charmed ($B_c$) mesons are more stable than their charmonium ($c\bar c$) and bottomium ($b\bar b$) partners because they cannot annihilate into gluons. However, the low production cross-sections and signal-to-background ratios avoided until now their clear identification. The recent experimental results reported by CMS and LHCb at CERN open the possibility of having a $B_c$ spectrum as complete as the ones of charmonium and bottomonium. Motivated by this expectation, we compute bottom-charmed meson masses in the region energies in which decay meson-meson thresholds are opened, looki…
We study exotic mesons with double charm and bottom flavor, whose quark configuration is \bar{Q}\bar{Q}qq. This quark configuration has no annihilation process of quark and antiquark, and hence is a genuinely exotic states. We take a hadronic picture by considering the molecular states composed of a pair of heavy mesons, such as DD, DD* and D*D* for charm flavor, and BB, BB* and B*B* for bottom flavor. The interactions between heavy mesons are derived from the heavy quark effective theory. All molecular states are classified by I(J^P) quantum numbers, and are systematically studied up to the t…
We propose the inclusive semi-hard production, in proton-proton collisions, of two bottom-flavored hadrons, as well as of a single bottom-flavored hadron accompanied by a light jet, as novel channels for the manifestation of stabilization effects of the high-energy resummation under next-to-leading-order corrections. Our formalism relies on a hybrid high-energy and collinear factorization, where the BFKL resummation of leading and next-to-leading energy logarithms is used together with collinear factorization. We present results for cross sections and azimuthal correlations differential in rap…
In the scenario that a dark matter (DM) is a weakly interacting massive particle, there are many possibilities of the interactions with the Standard Model (SM) particles to achieve the relic density of DM. In this paper, we consider one simple DM model where the DM candidate is a complex scalar and interacts with the SM particles via exchange of the Higgs particle and an extra quark, named bottom partner. The extra quark carries the same quantum number as the right-handed down-type quarks and has Yukawa couplings with the DM candidate and the right-handed down-type quarks. The Yukawa interacti…
In the present work, we study the OZI-allowed three body open flavor decay properties of higher vector charmonium and bottomonium states with an extended quark pair creation model. For the bottomonium system, we get that (i) the $BBπ$ and $B^*B^*π$ partial decay widths of the $Υ(5S)$ state are consistent with the experiment, and the $BB^*π$ partial decay width of the $Υ(5S)$ state is smaller but very close to the Belle's experiment. Meanwhile, (ii) the $BB^*π$ and $B^*B^*π$ decay widths of $Υ(11020)$ can reachs $2\sim3$ MeV. In addition, (iii) for the most of higher vector charmonium states, t…
We compute the total cross-section for $Z$ boson production in bottom-quark fusion, applying to this case the method we previously used for Higgs production in bottom fusion. Namely, we match, through the FONLL procedure, the next-to-next-to-leading-log five-flavor scheme result, in which the $b$~quark is treated as a massless parton, with the next-to-leading-order $\order{α_s^3}$ four-flavor scheme computation in which bottom is treated as a massive final-state particle. Our computation provides a test-case for the discussion of issues of scale dependence and treatment of heavy quarks, which …
In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) the mirror quarks induce the special flavor structures and some new flavor-changing (FC) couplings which could greatly enhance the production rates of the FC processes. We in this paper study some bottom and anti-strange production processes in the LHT model at the International Linear Collider (ILC), i.e., $e^+e^-\rightarrow b\bar{s}$ and $γγ\rightarrow b\bar{s}$. The results show that the production rates of these processes are sizeable for the favorable values of the parameters. Therefore, it is quite possible to test the LHT model or make som…
With an extended quark pair creation model we systematically study the OZI-allowed three body open flavor decays of higher vector charmonium and bottomonium states. We obtain that the $BB^*π$ and $B^*B^*π$ partial decay widths of $Υ(10860)$ are consistent with experiment, and the corresponding partial decay widths of $Υ(11020)$ can reach up to 2$\sim$3 MeV. Meanwhile the partial widths of $DD^*π$ and $D^*D^*π$ modes for most higher vector charmonium states can reach up to several MeV.
We present a supersymmetric SU(5) x U(1)_H model, free from gauge anomalies, where the Abelian factor U(1)_H, introduced to account for the hierarchy of fermion masses and mixings, is broken by the same adjoint representations of SU(5) that also break the GUT symmetry. The model predicts approximate, but never exact, bottom-tau Yukawa unification. The deviations are related to group theoretical coefficients and can naturally be at the level of 10%-20%.
I discuss advances in the determination of strange, charm, and bottom quark parton distribution functions obtained in the CTEQ6.5 and CTEQ6.6 global analyses. These results affect electroweak precision observables and certain new physics searches at the Large Hadron Collider. I focus, in particular, on high-energy implications of the consistent treatment of heavy-quark threshold effects in DIS in the general-mass factorization scheme; an independent parametrization for the strangeness PDF; and the possible presence of nonperturbative ("intrinsic") charm.

In this work, we investigate the $Υ(10753)\toΥ(nS)π^+π^-$ ($n=1,2,3$) processes by considering the hadronic loop mechanism, where $Υ(10753)$ is assigned to a conventional bottomonium in the $4S$-$3D$ mixing scheme. Our results of the concerned processes own considerable branching ratios, which can reach up to the order of magnitude of $10^{-4}-10^{-3}$. We should indicate that the measured $Γ_{e^+e^-}\times\mathcal{B}[Υ(10753)\toΥ(nS)π^+π^-]$ values given by Belle can be reproduced well. This fact supports the former bottomonium assignment to the $Υ(10753)$ in the $4S$-$3D$ mixing scheme. Obvi…
The binding energies of baryonic systems (BS) with baryon number $B=2, 3$ and 4 possessing heavy flavor, charm and bottom, are estimated within the rigid oscillator version of the bound state approach to chiral soliton models. Two tendencies are noted: the binding energy increases with increasing mass of the flavor and with increasing $B$. Therefore, the charmed or bottomed baryonic systems have more chances to be bound than strange baryonic systems discussed previously. The flavor symmetry breaking in decay constants $F$ is considered which is especially important for baryonic systems with bo…
We study flavor changing effects on the \ppbchT process at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC), which are inspired by the left-handed up-type squark mixings in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model(MSSM). We find that the SUSY QCD radiative corrections to $bcH^\pm$ coupling can significantly enhance the cross sections at the tree-level by a factor about $1.5 \sim 5$ with our choice of parameters. We conclude that the squark mixing mechanism in the MSSM makes the \ppbchT process a new channel for discovering a charged Higgs boson and investigating flavor changing effects.
We consider the decay of a polarized top quark into a stable $W^+$ boson and charmed-flavored (D) or bottom-flavored (B) hadrons, via $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow W^++D/B+X$. We study the angular distribution of the scaled-energy of B/D-hadrons at next-to-leading order (NLO) considering the contribution of bottom and gluon fragmentations into the heavy mesons B and D. To obtain the energy spectrum of B/D-hadrons we present our analytical expressions for the parton-level differential decay widths of $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow b+W^+(+g)$ at NLO. Comparison of our predictions with data at the LHC enable …
The lepton sector is studied within a flavored non-renormalizable model where the $\mathbf{S}_{3}\otimes \mathbf{Z}_{2}$ flavor symmetry drives the Yukawa couplings. In this framework, the effective neutrino mass, that comes from the type II see-saw mechanism, as well as the charged lepton mass matrices are hierarchical and possessed (under a benchmark in the charged sector) a kind of Fritzsch textures that achieve to accommodate the mixing angles in good agreement with the last experimental data. The model predicts a CP-violating phase consistent with the experimental data and the branching r…
We perform a model-independent analysis of the possible residual Klein and generalized CP symmetries associated with arbitrary lepton mixing angles in the case that there are three light Majorana neutrino species. This approach emphasizes the unique role of the Majorana phases and provides a useful framework in which to discuss the origin of the Dirac CP phase in scenarios with spontaneously broken flavor and generalized CP symmetries. The method is shown to reproduce known examples in the literature based on tribimaximal and bitrimaximal mixing patterns, and is used to investigate these issue…
We study the $D$-wave charmed baryons of $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{\bar3}_F$ using the method of QCD sum rule in the framework of heavy quark effective theory (HQET). We find that the $Λ_c(2880)$, $Ξ_c(3055)$ and $Ξ_c(3080)$ can be well described by the $D$-wave $SU(3)$ $\mathbf{\bar 3}_F$ charmed baryon multiplets of $J^P=3/2^+$ and $5/2^+$, which contain two $λ$-mode orbital excitations, i.e., the $Λ_c(2880)$ has $J^P=5/2^+$, and the $Ξ_c(3055)$ and $Ξ_c(3080)$ have $J^P = 3/2^+$ and $5/2^+$, respectively. Our results also suggest that the $Λ_c(2880)$ has a partner state, the $Λ_c(3/2^+)$ of $…
We construct an effective hadronic model including single heavy baryons (SHBs) belonging to the $(\mathbf{3},\mathbf{3})$ representation under $\mbox{SU}(3)_L \times \mbox{SU}(3)_R$ symmetry, respecting the chiral symmetry and heavy-qaurk spin-flavor symmetry. When the chiral symmetry is spontaneously broken, the SHBs are divided into the baryons with negative parity of $\bar{\mathbf 3}$ representation under $\mbox{SU}(3)$ flavor symmetry which is the chiral partners to the ones with positive parity of ${\mathbf 6}$ representation. We determine the model parameters from the available experimen…
We study the energy spectrum of the inclusive bottom-flavored mesons in top-quark decay into a charged-Higgs-boson and a massless bottom quark at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the two-Higgs-doublet model. To extract the result we work in the Zero-Mass Variable-Flavor-Number scheme(ZM-VFNs) using realistic nonperturbative fragmentation functions obtained through a global fit to $e^+e^-$ data from CERN LEP1 and SLAC SLC on the Z-boson resonance. We study both the contribution of the bottom-quark fragmentation and the gluon fragmentation to produce the bottom-flavored meson (B-Meson). We find th…
We present the results of a numerical search for the Dirac Yukawa matrices of the Standard Model, consistent with the quark and lepton masses and their mixing angles. We assume a diagonal up-quark matrix, natural in $\bs{\m Z_7 \rtimes \m Z_3}$, Bimaximal or Tri-bimaximal seesaw mixing, and $SU(5)$ unification to relate the down-quark and charged lepton Dirac Yukawa matrices using Georgi-Jarlskog mechanisms. The measured value of $θ_{13}$ requires an asymmetric down-quark Yukawa matrix. Satisfying the measured values of both $θ_{13}$ and the electron mass restricts the number of solutions, und…
We provide comprehensive investigations for the mass spectrum of exotic open-flavor charmed/bottom $sq\bar q\bar c$, $qq\bar q\bar c$, $sq\bar q\bar b$, $qq\bar q\bar b$ tetraquark states with various spin-parity assignments $J^P=0^+, 1^+, 2^+$ and $0^-, 1^-$ in the framework of QCD sum rules. In the diquark configuration, we construct the diquark-antidiquark interpolating tetraquark currents using the color-antisymmetric scalar and axial-vector diquark fields. The stable mass sum rules are established in reasonable parameter working ranges, which are used to give reliable mass predictions for…

Motivated by the LHCb observation of exotic states $X_{0,1}(2900)$ with four open quark flavors in the $D^- K^+$ invariant mass distribution in the decay channel $B^\pm \to D^+ D^- K^\pm$, we study the spectrum and decay properties of the open charm tetraquarks. Using the two-body chromomagnetic interactions, we find that the two newly observed states can be interpreted as a radial excited tetraquark with $J^P=0^+$ and an orbitally excited tetraquark with $J^P=1^-$, respectively. We then explore the mass and decays of the other flavor-open tetraquarks made of $su \bar d \bar c$ and $ d s \bar …
We discuss the dynamics in finite density medium including a heavy impurity particle (hadron or quark) with a heavy flavor, charm and bottom, at zero temperature. As a system, we consider a $\bar{D}$ ($B$) meson embedded in nuclear matter as a heavy impurity boson with SU(2) isospin symmetry. As another system, we also consider a charm (bottom) quark embedded in quark matter as a heavy impurity fermion with SU(3) color symmetry. We suppose a vector current interaction with SU($n$) symmetry ($n \ge 2$) for the fermion composing the Fermi surface and the embedded heavy impurity particle, and cal…
Flavor changing effects on the processes \tch, \eebs, \eebsh and \ppbs in the LHT model are investigated in this paper. We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror quarks and gauge bosons. The results show that the top quark rare decay \tch in the LHT model can be significantly enhanced relative to that in the SM. The $b\bar{s}$ production at linear colliders in the LHT model can enhance the SM cross section a lot and reach 0.1 fb in some parameter space allowed in the experiment. But the heavy gauge boson and mirror fermion loops have small contribution to the p…

we study fermion masses and flavor mixing in a supersymmetric SO(10) model, where $\mathbf{10}$, $\mathbf{120}$ and $\mathbf{\bar{126}}$ Higgs multiplets have Yukawa couplings with matter multiplets and give masses to quarks and leptons through the breaking chain of a Pati-Salam group. This brings about that, at the GUT energy scale, the lepton mass matrices are related to the quark ones via several breaking parameters, and the small neutrino masses arise from a Type II see-saw mechanism. When evolving renormalization group equations for the fermion mass matrices from the GUT scale to the elec…
We compute the total cross-section for Higgs boson production in bottom-quark fusion using the so-called FONLL method for the matching of a scheme in which the $b$-quark is treated as a massless parton to that in which it is treated as a massive final-state particle. We discuss the general framework for the application of the FONLL method to this process, and then we present explicit expressions for the case in which the next-to-next-to-leading-log five-flavor scheme result is combined with the leading-order $\cal O(α_s^2)$ four-flavor scheme computation. We compare our results in this case to…
The origin of mass must lie in physics beyond the Standard Model. Dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking models like technicolor can generate masses for the W and Z bosons. Providing the large top quark mass and large top-bottom mass splitting while keeping rho parameter and flavor-changing neutral currents small requires new strong dynamics for the top and bottom quarks. In consequence, new particles are predicted at scales up to 10 TeV with signatures in jets or heavy flavors. Searches for these states are underway at Fermilab and LEP II.
Processes involving bottom quarks play a crucial role in the LHC phenomenology, from flavour physics to Higgs characterisation and as a window to new physics, appearing both as signals and irreducible background in BSM searches. These processes can be described in QCD either in a 4-flavor or 5-flavor scheme. In the former, $b$ quarks appear only in the final state and are considered massive. In 5-flavor schemes, calculations include $b$ quarks in the initial state. Possibly large logarithms originating from the collinear splitting of gluons into bottom pairs are resummed into the $b$ parton di…
The LHCb Collaboration has recently observed two narrow baryon resonances with beauty. Their masses and decay modes look consistent with the quark model orbitally excited states Lambda_b(5912) and Lambda*_b(5920), with quantum numbers J^P=1/2^- and 3/2^-, respectively. We predict the existence of these states within a unitarized meson-baryon coupled-channel dynamical model, which implements heavy-quark spin symmetry. Masses, quantum numbers and couplings of these resonances to the different meson-baryon channels are obtained. We find that the resonances Lambda^0_b(5912) and Lambda^0_b(5920) ar…
We investigate the properties of S-and P-wave bottomonium states in the vicinity of the deconfinement transition temperature. The light degrees of freedom are represented by dynamical lattice QCD configurations of the HotQCD collaboration with $N_f = 2 + 1$ flavors. Bottomonium correlators are obtained from bottom quark propagators, computed in nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics (NRQCD) under the background of these gauge field configurations. The spectral functions for the $^3S_1$ ($Υ$) and $^3P_1$ ($χ_{b1}$) channel are extracted from the Euclidean time correlators using a novel Bayesian…
Texture zeroes in neutrino mass matrix $M_ν$ may give us hints about the symmetries involved in neutrino mass generation. We examine the viability of such texture zeroes in a model independent way through a bottom-up approach. Using constraints from the neutrino oscillation data, we develop an analytic framework that can identify these symmetries and quantify deviations from them. We analyze the textures of $M_ν$ as well as those of $M_M$, the mass matrix of heavy Majorana neutrinos in the context of Type-I seesaw. We point out how the viability of textures depends on the absolute neutrino mas…
We study bottom flavor abundance in the early Universe near to a temperature $T_\mathrm{H}\simeq150\,\mathrm{MeV}$, the condition for hadronization of deconfined quark-gluon plasma (QGP). We show bottom flavor abundance nonequilibrium lasting microseconds. In our study we use that in both QGP, and the hadronic gas phase (HG) $b$ and $\bar b$ quarks near $T_\mathrm{H}$ are bound in B-mesons and antimesons subject to $CP$ violating weak decays. A coincident non-equilibrium abundance of bottom flavor can lead to matter genesis at required strength: a) The specific thermal yield per entropy is $n_…
Recent discoveries of the Xi_b, Sigma_b and Sigma_b^* baryons at the Tevatron are in good agreement with model-independent mass predictions made a decade ago based on a combined expansion in 1/N_c, 1/m_Q and SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking. Using the new experimental data as input, mass predictions for the undiscovered bottom baryons Xi_b^\prime, Xi_b^*, Omega_b and Omega_b^* and for many unmeasured bottom baryon mass splittings are updated. The observed ground state charm baryons exhibit the mass hierarchy previously predicted by the 1/N_c, 1/m_Q and SU(3) flavor breaking expansion.

The masses of heavy quark baryons are studied in an expansion in 1/N_c, SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking, and heavy-quark symmetry breaking. Very accurate model-independent mass relations are obtained for charm and bottom baryons.
