We present an improved calculation of the light CP-even Higgs boson pole mass in the MSSM based on the FlexibleEFTHiggs hybrid method. The calculation resums large logarithms to all orders and includes power-suppressed terms at fixed order. It uses state-of-the-art 2- and 3-loop matching of the quartic Higgs coupling and renormalization group running up to 4-loop, resulting in a resummation of large logarithmic corrections up to N$^3$LL level. A conceptually novel ingredient is the expansion of the matching conditions in terms of high-scale MSSM parameters instead of SM parameters. In this way leading terms in the stop-mixing parameter are effectively resummed, leading to an improved numerical convergence of the perturbative expansion. Furthermore, the avoidance of double counting of loop corrections is more transparent than in other approaches and more independent of the high-scale model. We present numerical results and a detailed discussion of theoretical uncertainties for standard benchmark scenarios.
We present FlexibleEFTHiggs, a method for calculating the SM-like Higgs pole mass in SUSY (and even non-SUSY) models, which combines an effective field theory approach with a diagrammatic calculation. It thus achieves an all order resummation of leading logarithms together with the inclusion of all non-logarithmic 1-loop contributions. We implement this method into FlexibleSUSY and study its properties in the MSSM, NMSSM, E6SSM and MRSSM. In the MSSM, it correctly interpolates between the known results of effective field theory calculations in the literature for a high SUSY scale and fixed-ord…
We discuss the resummation of the Goldstone boson contributions to the effective potential of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). This eliminates the formal problems of spurious imaginary parts and logarithmic singularities in the minimization conditions when the tree-level Goldstone boson squared masses are negative or approach zero. The numerical impact of the resummation is shown to be almost always very small. We also show how to write the two-loop minimization conditions so that Goldstone boson squared masses do not appear at all, and so that they can be solved without itera…
We discuss various improvements of the prediction for the light MSSM Higgs boson mass in the hybrid framework of the public code FeynHiggs, which combines fixed-order and effective field theory results. First, we discuss the resummation of logarithmic contributions proportional to the bottom-Yukawa coupling including two-loop $Δ_b$ resummation. For large $\tanβ$, these improvements can lead to large upward shifts of the Higgs mass compared to the existing fixed-order calculations. Second, we improve the implemented EFT calculation by fully taking into account the effect of $\mathcal{CP}$-viola…
We analyze the appearance of the trilinear squark-Higgs couplings $x_q$ in Green functions in the Higgs sector of the MSSM and in threshold corrections to the SM. The results are constraints on maximal powers of $x_q$ in QCD-related loop corrections. In practice these often imply all-order resummations of leading or subleading $x_q$ contributions in SM-parametrized expressions. We present a variety of all-order resummation relations for $Δλ$ which include such $x_q$-enhanced terms and different orders in Yukawa and gauge couplings. We contrast which terms cannot be resummed.
Quantum corrections for the MSSM Higgs couplings to SM fermions
The resummed transverse momentum distribution of supersymmetric Higgs bosons produced through gluon fusion at NLO+NLL is presented, including the exact quark and squark mass dependences. Considering various MSSM scenarios, we compare our results to previous ones within the POWHEG approach. We analyze the impact of the bottom loop which becomes the dominant contribution to the gluon fusion cross section for a wide range of the parameter space for the pseudo-scalar and heavy Higgs.
State-of-the-art predictions for the mass of the lightest MSSM Higgs boson usually involve the resummation of higher-order logarithmic contributions obtained within an effective-field-theory (EFT) approach, often combined with a fixed-order calculation into a hybrid result. For the phenomenologically interesting case of a significant hierarchy between the gluino mass and the masses of the scalar top quarks the predictions suffer from large theoretical uncertainties related to non-decoupling power-enhanced gluino contributions in the EFT results employing the $\overline{\text{DR}}$ renormalisat…
We extend the already existing two-loop calculation of the effective bottom-Yukawa coupling in the MSSM. In addition to the resummation of the dominant corrections for large values of tg$β$, we include the subleading terms related to the trilinear Higgs coupling $A_b$ and contributions induced by the electroweak gauge couplings. This calculation has been extended to the NNLO corrections to the MSSM strange-Yukawa coupling. Our analysis leads to residual theoretical uncertainties of the effective Yukawa couplings at the per-cent level.
High energy behaviour of gamma gamma to f f(bar) processes in SM and MSSM
We present a calculation of the light neutral CP-even Higgs boson pole mass in the real MSSM which combines state-of-the-art EFT and fixed-order results, including the three-loop fixed-order QCD corrections as well as the resummation of logarithmic terms in the ratio of the weak to the SUSY scale up to fourth logarithmic order. This hybrid calculation should be valid for arbitrary SUSY scales above the weak scale. Comparison to the pure fixed-order and EFT results provides an estimate of their individual validity range.
We present the calculation of the light neutral CP-even Higgs mass in the MSSM for a heavy SUSY spectrum by resumming enhanced terms through fourth logarithmic order (N$^3$LL), keeping terms of leading order in the top Yukawa coupling $α_t$, and NNLO in the strong coupling $α_s$. To this goal, the three-loop matching coefficient for the quartic Higgs coupling of the SM to the MSSM is derived to order $α_t^2α_s^2$ by comparing the perturbative EFT to the fixed-order expression for the Higgs mass. The new matching coefficient is made available through an updated version of the program Himalaya. …
We compute the width of the decay $h^0$ (125 GeV) $\to b \bar{b}$ at next-to-leading order in the general MSSM with quark-flavour violation (QFV). We study the effect of mixing between the second and the third generation of squarks, taking into account the constraints on QFV from B-meson data. We discuss the renormalisation of the process as well as the resummation of the bottom Yukawa coupling at large $\tan β$. We show numerical results on the decay width $Γ(h^0 \to b \bar{b})$ as a function of the involved QFV parameters and compare them with the corresponding width in the Standard Model.
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model heavy superparticles introduce large logarithms in the calculation of the lightest $\mathcal{CP}$-even Higgs boson mass. These logarithmic contributions can be resummed using effective field theory techniques. For light superparticles, however, fixed-order calculations are expected to be more accurate. To gain a precise prediction also for intermediate mass scales, both approaches have to be combined. Here, we report on an improvement of this method in various steps: the inclusion of electroweak contributions, of separate electroweakino and gluino t…
The connection between gauge and Higgs sectors makes supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model predictive frameworks for the derivation of Higgs masses. In this paper, we study the contamination of such predictions by field-renormalization constants, in the MSSM with two-loop gaugeless corrections of $\mathcal{O}{\left(α_{t,b}\,α_s,\,α_{t,b}^2\right)}$ and full momentum dependence, and demonstrate how strict perturbative expansions allow to systematically neutralize the dependence on such unphysical objects. On the other hand, the popular procedure consisting in an iterative pole search …
We present GM2Calc, a public C++ program for the calculation of MSSM contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)_μ$. The code computes $(g-2)_μ$ precisely, by taking into account the latest two-loop corrections and by performing the calculation in a physical on-shell renormalization scheme. In particular the program includes a $\tanβ$ resummation so that it is valid for arbitrarily high values of $\tanβ$, as well as fermion/sfermion-loop corrections which lead to non-decoupling effects from heavy squarks. GM2Calc can be run with a standard SLHA input file, internally con…
In this paper we propose a method to compute the running top-Yukawa coupling in supersymmetric models with heavy mass spectrum based on the "running" and "decoupling" procedure. In order to enable this approach we compute the two-loop SUSY-QCD radiative corrections required in the decoupling process. The method has the advantage that large logarithmic corrections are automatically resummed through the Renormalization Group Equations. As phenomenological application we study the effects of this approach on the prediction of the lightest Higgs boson mass at three-loop accuracy. We observe a sign…
Various methods are used in the literature for predicting the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). Fixed-order diagrammatic calculations capture all effects at a given order and yield accurate results for scales of supersymmetric (SUSY) particles that are not separated too much from the weak scale. Effective field theory calculations allow a resummation of large logarithmic contributions up to all orders and therefore yield accurate results for a high SUSY scale. A hybrid approach, where both methods have been combined, is implemented in the co…
Precise predictions for Higgs boson masses in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model can be obtained by combining fixed-order calculations with effective field theory (EFT) methods for the resummation of large logarithms in case of heavy superpartners. This hybrid approach is implemented in the computer code FeynHiggs and has been applied in previous studies for calculating the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson for low, intermediate and high SUSY scales. In these works it was assumed that the non-standard Higgs bosons share a common mass scale with the supersymmetric squark particles…

The particle discovered in the Higgs boson searches at the LHC with a mass of about 125 GeV can be identified with one of the neutral Higgs bosons of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We calculate predictions for the Higgs-boson masses in the NMSSM using the Feynman-diagrammatic approach. The predictions are based on the full NMSSM one-loop corrections supplemented with the dominant and sub-dominant two-loop corrections within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). These include contributions at $\mathcal{O}{\left(α_t α_s, α_b α_s, α_t^2,α_tα_b\right)}$, as …
