Comment on "Is a system's wave function in one-to-one correspondence with its elements of reality?" [arXiv:1111.6597]

Recently, it has been argued [arXiv:1111.6597, arXiv:1005.5173] that different quantum states do necessarily correspond to different elements of reality, under the assumption that quantum mechanics is correct and that measurement settings can be freely chosen. Here, we prove that additional assumptions are necessary to derive this results, which then has not general validity.

Comment on: Breakdown of Bohr's Correspondence Principle by: Bo Gao Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 4225 (1999)

Gao applied LeRoy and Bernstein semi-classical analysis for the energy levels in a potential of the form -C/r^n to sequences of scaled energy differences progressing towards low lying states and found a better agreement with the semi-classical prediction. We checked that for the energy levels obtained by Stwalley et al. with the same potential, the agreement with the semi-classical approximation is better for higher vibrational quantum numbers in agreement with Bohr's correspondence principle.

The existence of an observer independent minimum length scale can lead to the modification of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle to the generalized uncertainty principle. This in turn would be responsible for the modification of the Hamiltonian describing a non-relativistic particle moving in the presence of an arbitrary potential. In this work we carry out a path integral formulation to compute the transition amplitude for this particle. The formalism yields the action of such a particle in an arbitrary potential. In a recent paper entitled "Winding around non-Hermitian singularities" by Zhong et al., published in Nat. Commun. 9, 4808 (2018), a formalism is proposed for calculating the permutations of eigenstates that arise upon encircling (multiple) exceptional points (EPs) in the complex parameter plane of an analytic non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. The authors suggest that upon encircling EPs one should track the eigenvalue branch cuts that are traversed, and multiply the associated permutation matrices accordingly.
