We study thermodynamic properties of the doped Hubbard model on the square lattice in the regime of strong charge and spin fluctuations at low temperatures near the metal-to-insulator crossover and obtain results with controlled accuracy using the diagrammatic Monte Carlo method directly in the thermodynamic limit. The behavior of the entropy reveals a non-Fermi-liquid state at sufficiently high interactions near half-filling: a maximum in the entropy at non-zero doping develops as the coupling strength is increased, along with an inflection point, evidencing a metal to non-Fermi-liquid crossover. The specific heat exhibits additional distinctive features of a non-Fermi-liquid state. Measurements of the entropy can therefore be used as a probe of the state of the system in quantum simulation experiments with ultracold atoms in optical lattices.
Intertwining of spin, charge and pairing correlations in the repulsive two-dimensional Hubbard model is shown through unrestricted variational calculations, with projected wavefunctions free of symmetry breaking. A crossover from incommensurate antiferromagnetism to stripe order naturally emerges in the hole-doped region when increasing the on-site coupling. Although effective pairing interactions are identified, they are strongly fragmented in several modes including d-wave pairing and more exotic channels related to an underlying stripe. We demonstrate that the entanglement of a mean-field w…
The suppression of antiferromagnetic ordering in geometrically frustrated Hubbard models leads to a variety of exotic quantum phases including quantum spin liquids and chiral states. Here, we focus on the Hubbard model on one of the simplest frustrated lattice geometries, a triangular lattice. Motivated by the recent realization of ultracold fermionic atoms in triangular optical lattices, we study the properties of the triangular-lattice Hubbard model through a Numerical Linked-Cluster Expansion algorithm. We investigate the Mott insulator transition finding a critical interaction $U_c/t = 7.0…
We show that the charge transfer excitons in a Hubbard model system including nearest neighbor Coulomb interactions effectively attain some charge in doped systems and become visible in photoelectron and inverse photoelectron spectroscopies. This shows that the description of a doped system by an extended Hubbard model differs substantially from that of a simple Hubbard model. Longer range Coulomb interactions cause satellites in the one electron removal and addition spectra and the appearance of spectral weight if the gap of doped systems at energies corresponding to the excitons of the undop…
We show that as the result of the nesting property of the Fermi surface, the quarter-doped Hubbard model on honeycomb lattice is unstable with respect to the formation of a magnetic insulating state with nonzero spin chirality for infinitesimally small strength of electron correlation. The insulating state is found to be topological nontrivial and to have a quantized Hall conductance of $σ_{xy}=\frac{e^{2}}{h}$. We find the Fermi surface nesting is robust for arbitrary value of next-nearest-neighbor hopping integral. It is thus very possible that the quarter-doped graphene system will realize …
We study the dynamical behavior of doped electronic systems subject to a global ramp of the repulsive Hubbard interaction. We start with formulating a real-time generalization of the fluctuation-exchange approximation. Implementing this numerically, we investigate the weak-coupling regime of the Hubbard model both in the electron-doped and hole-doped regimes. The results show that both local and nonlocal (momentum-dependent) observables evolve toward a thermal state, although the temperature of the final state depends on the ramp duration and the chemical doping. We further reveal a momentum-d…
We derived a simple metal-insulator criterion in analytical form for the doped Mott-Hubbard materials. Its readings closely related to the orbital and spin nature of the ground states of the unit cell. The available criterion readings (metal or insulator) in the paramagnetic phase points to the possibility of the insulator state of doped materials with the forbidden first removal electron states. According to its physical meaning the result is similar to Wilsons criterion in the itinerant electron systems. An application of the criterion to the high-Tc cuprates discussed.
We study the interplay of disorder and correlation in the one-dimensional hole-doped Hubbard-model with disorder (Anderson-Hubbard model) by using the density-matrix renormalization group method. Concentrating on the doped-hole density profile, we find in a large $U/t$ regime that the clean system exhibits a simple fluid-like behavior whereas finite disorders create locally Mott regions which expand their area with increasing the disorder strength contrary to the ordinary sense. We propose that such an anomalous Mott phase formation assisted by disorder is observable in atomic Fermi gases by s…
We show that pronounced modulations in spin and charge densities can be induced by the insertion of a single hole in an otherwise half-filled 2-leg Hubbard ladder. Accompanied with these modulations is a loosely bound structure of the doped charge with a spin-1/2, in contrast to the tightly bound case where such modulations are absent. These behaviors are caused by the interference of the Berry phases associated a string of flipped spins (or "phase strings") left behind as a hole travels through a spin bath with a short-range anti-ferromagnetic order. The key role of the phase strings is also …
Microscopical model of a doped fulleride electronic subsystem taking into account the triple orbital degeneracy of energy states is considered within the configurational-operator approach. Using the Green function method the energy spectrum of the model at integer band filling $n=1$ is calculated, which case corresponds to $AC_{60}$ compounds. Possible correlation-driven metal-insulator transition in the model is discussed.
In the limit of large nearest--neighbor and on--site Coulomb repulsions, the Hubbard model on the planar pyrochlore lattice maps, near quarter-filling, onto a doped quantum fully packed loop model. The phase diagram exhibits at quarter filling a novel quantum state of matter, the Resonating Singlet-Pair Crystal, an insulating phase breaking lattice symmetry. Properties of a few doped holes are investigated. In contrast to the doped quantum antiferromagnet, phase separation is restricted to very small hopping leaving an extended``window'' for superconducting pairing. However the later is more f…
The formation of stripes in six-leg Hubbard ladders with cylindrical boundary conditions is investigated for two different hole dopings, where the amplitude of the hole density modulation is determined in the limits of vanishing DMRG truncation errors and infinitely long ladders. The results give strong evidence that stripes exist in the ground state of these systems for strong but not for weak Hubbard couplings. The doping dependence of these findings is analysed.
Local spin fluctuations provide the glue for orbital-singlet spin-triplet pairing in the doped Mott insulating regime of multi-orbital Hubbard models. At large Hubbard repulsion $U$, the pairing susceptibility is nevertheless very low, because the pairing interaction cannot overcome the suppression of charge fluctuations. Using nonequilibrium dynamical mean field simulations of the two-orbital Hubbard model, we show that out of equilibrium the pairing susceptibility in this large-$U$ regime can be strongly enhanced by creating a photo-induced population of the relevant charge states, and that …
We investigate effects of doped holes' hopping on Neel order in the two-dimensional Hubbard model. Semiclassical staggered moments are computed by solving saddle point equations derived from a path-integral formalism. Effects of quantum fluctuations are taken into account by the Schwinger boson mean field theory. We argue that hopping of doped holes is ineffective in suppressing Neel order compared to rapid supprestion of Neel order in high-temperature superconductors. After destruction of Neel order, the quantum disordered phase sets in. Taking the strong coupling limit in the quantum disorde…
We have performed large-scale density-matrix renormalization group studies of the lightly doped Hubbard model on the honeycomb lattice on long three and four-leg cylinders. We find that the ground state of the system upon lightly doping is consistent with that of a superconducting state with coexisting quasi-long-range superconducting and charge density wave orders. Both the superconducting and charge density wave correlations decay as a power law at long distances with corresponding exponents $K_{sc}<2$ and $K_c<2$. On the contrary, the spin-spin and single-particle correlations decay exponen…
We study the Hubbard model on a square lattice, using the dynamical vertex approximation and the parquet approximation. These methods allow us to describe the mutual interference of spin-fluctuations in the particle-hole channel and superconducting fluctuations in the cooperon channel in an unbiased way. For small dopings we find predominant commensurable antiferromagnetic spin- and d-wave superconducting fluctuations; for larger doping incommensurate antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations are concomitant to triplet s-wave superconducting fluctuations.
Experiments on polarized fermion gases performed by trapping ultracold atoms in optical lattices, allow the study of an attractive Hubbard model for which the strength of the on site interaction is tuned by means of a Feshbach resonance. Using a well-known particle-hole transformation we discuss how results obtained for this system can be reinterpreted in the context of a doped repulsive Hubbard model. In particular we show that the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state corresponds to the striped state of the two-dimensional doped positive U Hubbard model. We then use the results of nu…
We study the optical response of a strongly correlated electron system near the metal-insulator transition using a mapping to the sine-Gordon model. With semiclassical quantization, the spectral weight is distributed between a Drude peak and absorption lines due to breathers. We calculate the Drude weight, the optical gap, and the lineshape of breather absorption.
Quantum Monte Carlo is used to calculate various pairing correlations of the 2D Hubbard model possessing band features experimentally observed in the cuprates. In the hole-doped case, where the Fermi level lies close to the van Hove singularities around $(0,π)$, the d$_{x^2-y^2}$ pairing correlation is selectively enhanced, while in the electron-doped case, where the singularities are far below the Fermi level and the Fermi surface runs through $(\pm π/2,\pm π/2)$, both d$_{x^2-y^2}$ and d$_{xy}$ correlations are enhanced with the latter having a $\sqrt{2}\times \sqrt{2}$ structure. The two pa…
Strange or bad metallic transport, defined by its incompatibility with conventional quasiparticle pictures, is a theme common to strongly correlated materials and ubiquitous in many high temperature superconductors. The Hubbard model represents a minimal starting point for modeling strongly correlated systems. Here we demonstrate strange metallic transport in the doped two-dimensional Hubbard model using determinantal quantum Monte Carlo calculations. Over a wide range of doping, we observe resistivities exceeding the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit with linear temperature dependence. The temperatures …
On the basis of Quantum Monte Carlo simulations of the two-dimensional Hubbard model which cover the doping range from the under- to the over-doped regime, we find that the single-particle spectral weight $A (\vec k,ω)$ qualitatively reproduces both the momentum ($d_{x^2-y^2}$--symmetry) and doping dependence of the pseudogap as found in photoemission experiments. The drastic doping dependence of the spin response $χ_{s} (\vec q,ω)$ which is sharp in both $\vec q (\approx(π,π))$ and $ω$ in the under-doped regime but broad and structureless otherwise, identifies remnants of the antiferromagneti…
We study the electronic structure of the doped paramagnetic insulator by finite temperature Quantum Monte-Carlo simulations for the 2D Hubbard model. Throughout we use the moderately high temperature T=0.33t, where the spin correlation length has dropped to < 1.5 lattice spacings, and study the evolution of the band structure with hole doping. The effect of doping can be best described as a rigid shift of the chemical potential into the lower Hubbard band, accompanied by some transfer of spectral weight. For hole dopings <20% the Luttinger theorem is violated, and the Fermi surface volume, inf…
We study the electronic state of the doped Mott-Hubbard insulator within Dynamical Mean Field Theory. The evolution of the finite temperature spectral functions as a function of doping show large redistributions of spectral weight in both antiferromagnetic and paramagnetic phases. In particular, a metallic antiferromagnetic state is obtained with a low frequency Slater-splitted quasiparticle peak coexisting with Hubbard bands. In the high temperature paramagnetic metallic phase, upon reducing doping, the system has a crossover through a ``bad metal'' state characterized by an anomalous shift o…
Quantum gas microscopes for ultracold atoms can provide high-resolution real-space snapshots of complex many-body systems. We implement machine learning to analyze and classify such snapshots of ultracold atoms. Specifically, we compare the data from an experimental realization of the two-dimensional Fermi-Hubbard model to two theoretical approaches: a doped quantum spin liquid state of resonating valence bond type, and the geometric string theory, describing a state with hidden spin order. This approach considers all available information without a potential bias towards one particular theory…
We demonstrate the existence of an insulating phase in the three-legged Hubbard ladder at two-thirds filling. In this phase chargons are bound because the physics within a unit cell favors the formation of triplets. The resultant moments lead to a ground state in the Haldane phase, a symmetry protected topological state of matter. In this purely fermionic model, reflection is protecting but time reversal and dihedral symmetries are not, in contrast to spin models.
We calculate the charge compressibility and uniform spin susceptibility for the two-dimensional (2D) Hubbard model slightly away from half-filling within a two-loop renormalization group scheme. We find numerically that both those quantities flow to zero as we increase the initial interaction strength from weak to intermediate couplings. This result implies gap openings in both charge and spin excitation spectra for the latter interaction regime. When this occurs, the ground state of the lightly doped 2D Hubbard model may be interpreted as an insulating spin liquid as opposed to a Mott insulat…
We have studied the ground state properties of Hubbard model on long six-leg square cylinders with doped hole concentration per site $5.55\% \leq δ\leq 12.5\%$ using density-matrix renormalization group. By keeping a large number of states for long system sizes, we find that the nature of the ground state is remarkably sensitive to the presence of next-nearest-neighbor electron hopping $t'$. In the positive $t'$ side, we find a robust $d$-wave superconducting (SC) phase characterized by coexisting quasi-long-range SC and charge density wave (CDW) correlations. Without $t'$ the ground state for…
We examine the optical conductivity σ(ω) and the chemical potential μ, together with the spin correlation, in the strong-coupling limit of a hole-doped two-dimensional triangular Hubbard model near half filling by using an exact diagonalization technique. In contrast to the case of a square lattice without frustration, the doping dependences of μand the Drude weight indicate that the charge degree of freedom is weakly coupled to the spin degree of freedom. However, we find that σ(ω) shows strong incoherent excitations extended to a higher energy region. This implies that geometrical frustratio…
We investigate the formation of stripes in $7\chunks \times 6$ Hubbard ladders with $4\chunks$ holes doped away from half filling using the density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method. A parallelized code allows us to keep enough density-matrix eigenstates (up to $m=8000$) and to study sufficiently large systems (with up to $7\chunks = 21$ rungs) to extrapolate the stripe amplitude to the limits of vanishing DMRG truncation error and infinitely long ladders. Our work gives strong evidence that stripes exist in the ground state for strong coupling ($U=12t$) but that the structures found …
Recent quantum-gas microscopy of ultracold atoms and scanning tunneling microscopy of the cuprates reveal new detailed information about doped Mott antiferromagnets, which can be compared with calculations. Using cellular dynamical mean-field theory, we map out the antiferromagnetic (AF) phase of the two-dimensional Hubbard model as a function of interaction strength $U$, hole doping $δ$ and temperature $T$. The Néel phase boundary is non-monotonic as a function of $U$ and $δ$. Frustration induced by second-neighbor hopping reduces Néel order more effectively at small $U$. The doped AF is stab…
One-dimensional systems have unusual properties such as fractionalization of degrees of freedom. Possible extensions to higher dimensional systems have been considered in the literature. In this work we construct a mean field theory of the Hubbard model taking into account a separation of the degrees of freedom inspired by the one-dimensional case and study the finite-temperature phase diagram for the Hubbard chain and square lattice. The mean field variables are defined along the links of the underlying lattice. We obtain the spectral function and identify the regions of higher spectral weigh…
The next-nearest-neighbour hopping term t' is shown to stabilize the AF state of the doped Hubbard model with respect to transverse perturbations in the order- parameter by strongly suppressing the intraband particle-hole processes. For a fixed sign of t', this stabilization is found to be significantly different for electron and hole doping, which qualitatively explains the observed difference in the degree of robustness of the AF state in the electron-doped (Nd_{2-x}Ce_{x}CuO_{4}) and hole-doped (La_{2-x}Sr_{x}CuO_{4}) cuprates. The t'-U phase diagram is obtained for both signs of the t' ter…
We extend previous studies on orbital-selective Mott transitions in the paramagnetic state of the half-filled degenerate two-band Hubbard model to the general doped case, using a high-precision quantum Monte Carlo dynamical mean-field theory solver. For sufficiently strong interactions, orbital-selective Mott transitions as a function of total band filling are clearly visible in the band-specific fillings, quasiparticle weights, double occupancies, and spectra. The results are contrasted with those of single-band models for similar correlation strengths.
Hirsch's dynamic Hubbard model describes the effect of orbital expansion with occupancy by coupling the doublon operator to an auxiliary boson. We use the nonequilibrium dynamical mean field method to study the properties of doublon and hole carriers in this model in the strongly correlated regime. In particular, we discuss how photodoping leads to doublon and hole populations with different effective temperatures, and we analyze the relaxation behavior as a function of the boson coupling and boson energy. In the polaronic regime, the nontrivial energy exchange between doublons, holes and boso…
Doped Hubbard model is a simple model for the high-Tc cuprate superconductors, while its ground state remains a challenge. Here, by performing state-of-the-art variational Monte Carlo calculations for the strong-coupling Hubbard model, we find evidences that the d-wave superconducting phase emerges always near the phase separation region and the superconducting order has one-to-one correspondence with the enhancement of charge compressibility. The order as well as the phase separation are vulnerable to realistic intersite Coulomb interaction while the superexchange interaction enhances both. A…
Motivated by the current interest in the understanding of the Mott insulators away from half filling, observed in many perovskite oxides, we study the Mott metal-insulator transition (MIT) in the doped Hubbard-Holstein model using the Hatree-Fock mean field theory. The Hubbard-Holstein model is the simplest model containing both the Coulomb and the electron-lattice interactions, which are important ingredients in the physics of the perovskite oxides. In contrast to the half-filled Hubbard model, which always results in a single phase (either metallic or insulating), our results show that away …
We present an extensive numerical study of the Hubbard model on the doped AB$_2$ chain, both in the weak coupling and the infinite-U limit. Due to the special unit cell topology, this system displays a rich variety of phases as function of hole doping ($δ$) away from half-filling. Near half-filling, spiral states develop in the weak coupling regime, while Nagaoka itinerant ferromagnetism is observed in the infinite-U limit. For higher doping the system phase-separates before reaching a Mott insulating phase of short-range RVB states at $δ=1/3$. Moreover, for $δ>1/3$ we observe a crossover, whi…
We calculate the non-resonant Raman response, the single particle spectra and the charge-spin configuration for the electron doped $t-t'$ Hubbard model using unrestricted Hartree-Fock calculations. We discuss the similarities and differences in the response of homogeneous versus inhomogeneous structures. Metallic antiferromagnetism dominates in a large region of the $U-n$ phase diagram but at high values of the on-site interaction and for intermediate doping values, inhomogeneous configurations are found with lower energy. This result is in contrast with the case of hole doped cuprates where i…
We study the ground state properties of the doped Hubbard model with strong interactions on honeycomb lattice by the Density Matrix Renormalization Group (DMRG) method. At half-filling, due to the absence of minus sign problem, it is now well established by large-scale Quantum Monte Carlo calculations that a Dirac semi-metal to anti-ferromagnetic Mott insulator transition occurs with the increase of the interaction strength $U$ for the Hubbard model on honeycomb lattice. However, an understanding of the fate of the anti-ferromagnetic Mott insulator when holes are doped into the system is still…
By using the constrained-phase quantum Monte Carlo method, we performed a systematic study of the pairing correlations in the ground state of the doped Kane-Mele-Hubbard model on a honeycomb lattice. We find that pairing correlations with $d+id$ symmetry dominate close to half filling, but pairing correlations with $p+ip$ symmetry dominate as hole doping moves the system below three-quarters filling. We correlate these behaviors of the pairing correlations with the topology of the Fermi surfaces of the non-interacting problem. We also find that the effective pairing correlation is enhanced gre…
In this paper, we have systematically studied the single hole problem in two-leg Hubbard and $t$-$J$ ladders by large-scale density-matrix renormalization group calculations. We found that the doped hole in both models behaves similarly with each other while the three-site correlated hopping term is not important in determining the ground state properties. For more insights, we have also calculated the elementary excitations, i.e., the energy gaps to the excited states of the system. In the strong rung limit, we found that the doped hole behaves as a Bloch quasiparticle in both systems where t…
Recent realization of well-controlled quantum simulators of the triangular-lattice Fermi-Hubbard model, including the triangular optical lattices loaded with ultracold Fermions and the heterostructures of the transition-metal dichalcogenides, as well as the more advanced techniques to probe them, pave the way for studying frustrated Fermi-Hubbard physics. Here, we theoretically predict asymmetric photoemission and tunneling spectroscopies for a lightly hole-doped and electron-doped triangular Mott antiferromagnet, and reveal two distinct types of magnetic polarons: a \emph{lightly} renormalize…
We investigate electronic properties of the doped two-leg Hubbard ladder with both the onsite and the nearest-neighbor Coulomb repulsions, by using the the weak-coupling renormalization-group method. It is shown that, for strong nearest-neighbor repulsions, the charge-density-wave state coexisting with the p-density-wave state becomes dominant fluctuation where spins form intrachain singlets. By increasing doping rate, we have also shown that the effects of the nearest-neighbor repulsions are reduced and the system exhibits a quantum phase transition into the d-wave-like (or rung-singlet) supe…
We present determinant quantum Monte Carlo simulations of the hole-doped single-band Hubbard-Holstein model on a square lattice, to investigate how quasiparticles emerge when doping a Mott insulator (MI) or a Peierls insulator (PI). The MI regime at large Hubbard interaction $U$ and small relative electron-phonon coupling strength $λ$ is quickly suppressed upon doping, by drawing spectral weight from the upper Hubbard band and shifting the lower Hubbard band towards the Fermi level, leading to a metallic state with emergent quasiparticles at the Fermi level. On the other hand, the PI regime at…
We derive the disorder vs. doping phase diagram of the doped Hubbard model via Dynamical Mean Field Theory combined with Typical Medium Theory, which allows the description of both Mott (correlation driven) and Anderson (disorder driven) metal-insulator transitions. We observe a transition from a metal to an Anderson-Mott insulator for increasing disorder strength at all interactions. In the weak correlation regime and rather small doping, the Anderson-Mott insulator displays properties which are alike to the ones found at half-filling. In particular, this phase is characterized by the presenc…
The paramagnetic phase diagram of the Hubbard model with nearest-neighbor (NN) and next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) hopping on the Bethe lattice is computed at half-filling and in the weakly doped regime using the self-energy functional approach for dynamical mean-field theory. NNN hopping breaks the particle-hole symmetry and leads to a strong asymmetry of the electron-doped and hole-doped regimes. Phase separation occurs at and near half-filling, and the critical temperature of the Mott transition is strongly suppressed.
We observed slow relaxation of magnetoresistance in quantum well structures GaAs-AlGaAs with a selective doping of both wells and barrier regions which allowed partial filling of the upper Hubbard band. Such a behavior is explained as related to magnetic-field driven redistribution of the carriers between sites with different occupation numbers due to spin correlation on the doubly occupied centers. This redistribution, in its turn, leads to slow multi-particle relaxations in the Coulomb glass formed by the charged centers.
We study the contribution of the electron-spin fluctuation coupling to the superconducting state of the two dimensional Hubbard model within dynamical cluster approximation (DCA) using a numerical exact continuous time Monte Carlo solver. By analyzing the frequency dependence of the self energy, we show that only about half of the superconductivity can be attributed to a "pairing glue" arising from treating spin fluctuations as a pairing boson in the standard one-loop theory.
The combination of bandstructure theory in the local density approximation with dynamical mean field theory was recently successfully applied to V$_2$O$_3$ -- a material which undergoes the f amous Mott-Hubbard metal-insulator transition upon Cr doping. The aim of this sh ort paper is to emphasize two aspects of our recent results: (i) the filling of the Mott-Hubbard gap with increasing temperature, and (ii) the peculiarities of the Mott-Hubbard transition in this system which is not characterized by a diver gence of the effective mass for the $a_{1g}$-orbital.
The spectral weight evolution of the low-dimensional Mott insulator TiOCl upon alkali-metal dosing has been studied by photoelectron spectroscopy. We observe a spectral weight transfer between the lower Hubbard band and an additional peak upon electron-doping, in line with quantitative expectations in the atomic limit for changing the number of singly and doubly occupied sites. This observation is an unconditional hallmark of correlated bands and has not been reported before. In contrast, the absence of a metallic quasiparticle peak can be traced back to a simple one-particle effect.
Spin waves in (0,pi) and (0,pi,pi) ordered spin-density-wave (SDW) states of the t-t' Hubbard model are investigated at finite doping. In the presence of small t', these composite ferro-antiferromagnetic (F-AF) states are found to be strongly stabilized at finite hole doping due to enhanced carrier-induced ferromagnetic spin couplings as in metallic ferromagnets. Anisotropic spin-wave velocities, spin-wave energy scale of around 200meV, reduced magnetic moment, and rapid suppression of magnetic order with electron doping x (corresponding to F substitution of O atoms in La O_{1-x} F_x Fe As or …
We present a non-perturbative, divergence-free series expansion of Green's functions using effective operators. The method is especially suited for computing correlators of complex operators as a series of correlation functions of simpler forms. We apply the method to study low-energy excitations in resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) in doped one- and two-dimensional single-band Hubbard models. The RIXS operator is expanded into polynomials of spin, density, and current operators weighted by fundamental x-ray spectral functions. These operators couple to different polarization channels…
Using determinant quantum Monte Carlo (DQMC) simulations, we systematically study the doping dependence of the crossover from one to two dimensions and its impact on the magnetic properties of the Hubbard model. A square lattice of chains is used, in which the dimensionality can be tuned by varying the interchain coupling $t_\perp$. The dynamical spin structure factor and static quantities, such as the static spin susceptibility and nearest-neighbor spin correlation function, are characterized in the one- and two-dimensional limits as a benchmark. When the dimensionality is tuned between these…
We present theoretical analysis of Hall effect in doped Mott-Hubbard insulator, considered as a prototype of cuprate superconductor. We consider the standard Hubbard model within DMFT approximation. As a typical case we consider the partially filled (hole doping) lower Hubbard band. We calculate the doping dependence of both the Hall coefficient and Hall number and determine the value of carrier concentration, where Hall effect changes its sign. We obtain a significant dependence of Hall effect parameters on temperature. Disorder effects are taken into account in a qualitative way.We also perf…
