Measurement of short-lived hadronic resonances are used to study different aspects of particle production and collision dynamics in pp, p-A and relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The yields of resonances are sensitive to the competing processes of hadron rescattering and regeneration, thus making these particles unique probes of the properties of the late hadronic phase. Measurements of resonances with different masses and quantum numbers also provide insight into strangeness production and processes that determine the shapes of particle momentum spectra at intermediate transverse momenta, as well as the species dependence of hadron suppression at high momentum. We present the comprehensive set of results in the ALICE experiment with unprecedented precision for $ρ(770)^{0}$, K$^{*}(892)$, $ϕ(1020)$, $Σ(1385)^{\pm}$, $Λ(1520)$, and $Ξ(1530)^{0}$ production in pp, p-Pb, Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb collisions in the energy range $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 2.76-13 TeV, including the latest measurements from LHC Run 2. The obtained results are used to study the system-size and collision-energy evolution of transverse momentum spectra, particle ratios and nuclear modification factors and to search for the onset of collectivity in small collision systems. We compare these results to lower energy measurements and model calculations where available.
We overview recent jet measurements in pp and Pb-Pb collisions with the ALICE detector. ALICE reconstructs jets at midrapidity using the anti-$k_{\mathrm{T}}$ algorithm, including both charged particle jets from the ALICE tracking detectors, and full jets from the combination of the ALICE electromagnetic calorimeter with the tracking system. We focus on inclusive and semi-inclusive jet measurements as well as jet substructure measurements, including a variety of groomed and ungroomed observables. In pp collisions, these results test pQCD techniques at $p_{\mathrm{T,\;jet}}<140$ GeV$/c$ in a lo…
Jets of high energy collimated particles provide a rich phenomenology to study quantum chromodynamics, from first-principles tests of perturbative calculations to investigations of the emergent properties of the strongly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. In these proceedings, we highlight several recent jet measurements by the ALICE Collaboration, with a focus on jet substructure observables.
Hadronic resonances $\mathrm{K}^{*}(892)^{0}$, $ϕ$(1020) and $Σ(1385)^{\pm}$ have been measured by the ALICE experiment in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_\mathrm{NN}}}=2.76$ TeV. Transverse momentum spectra, particle ratios, nuclear modification factor and comparison with model predictions are discussed. In addition, ALICE results are compared with data obtained at RHIC energy.
Ultra-peripheral collisions (UPCs), studied using the ALICE detector, allow us to investigate the low-$x$ behavior of the gluon distribution of the colliding particles. Two new measurements of coherent J/$ψ$ photoproduction cross section from Pb-Pb UPCs at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV are presented: the first measurement of the $|t|$-dependence of the cross section providing a new tool to investigate the transverse gluonic structure at low Bjorken-$x$ and a rapidity-differential measurement at midrapidity allowing us to provide stringent constraints on nuclear gluon shadowing and saturation mo…
Hadronic resonances are a valuable tool to study the properties of the medium formed in heavy-ion collisions. In particular, they can provide information on particle-formation mechanisms and on the properties of the medium at chemical freeze-out. Furthermore they contribute to the systematic study of parton energy loss and quark recombination. Measurements of resonances in pp and in p-Pb collisions provide a necessary baseline for heavy-ion data and help to disentangle initial-state effects from medium-induced effects. In this paper the latest ALICE results on mid-rapidity K*(892)^0 and ϕ(1020…

Particle ratios are presented as a function of multiplicity for $K^{0}_{s}$, $Λ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $\barΞ^{+}$, $Ω^{-}$, $\barΩ^{+}$, $ρ(770)^{0}$, $K^{\ast}(892)^{0}$, $ϕ(1020)$ and $Λ(1520)$. Our results are discussed and compared with predictions of QCD-inspired event generators. Additionally, comparisons with lower energy measurements and smaller syste…
The study of hadronic resonances plays an important role both in pp and in heavy-ion collisions. Since the lifetimes of short-lived resonances are comparable with the lifetime of the fireball formed in heavy-ion collisions, regeneration and re-scattering effects can modify the measured yields, especially at low transverse momentum. Measurements in pp collisions at different energies constitute a baseline for studies in heavy-ion collisions and provide constraints for tuning QCD-inspired event generators. Furthermore, high multiplicity pp collisions, where the density and the volume of the syst…
The ALICE experiment has measured the production of a rich set of hadronic resonances, such as $ρ(770)^{0}$, ${\rm K}^{\ast}(892)^{0}$, $ϕ$(1020), $Σ^{\pm}$(1385), $Λ(1520)$ and $Ξ^{\ast 0}$ in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at various energies at the LHC. A comprehensive overview and the latest results are presented in this paper. Special focus is given to the role of hadronic resonances for the study of final-state effects in high-energy collisions. In particular, the measurement of resonance production in heavy-ion collisions has the capability to provide insight into the existence of a prol…
The production of resonances in heavy-ion collisions is expected to be sensitive to the properties of strongly interacting matter created in such collisions. We report on the measurements of $ϕ$ and $K^{*0}$ resonances in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} $ = 2.76 TeV. The masses, widths and yields in Pb-Pb collisions as a function of centrality are compared to that in pp collisions to understand the role of re-scattering and regeneration. The resonance to non-resonance particle ratios are shown as a function of collision centrality and compared with the results at lower energies.
We report on the first dielectron measurement in pp collisons at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV with the ALICE detector system. The results are compared to the expected hadronic sources. The hadronic cocktail agrees to the measured dielectron continuum within statistical and systematic uncertainties. The status of the dielectron measurement in Pb--Pb collisions at {$\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$} TeV is addressed.
Recent results on the production of light nuclei, including deuterons, tritons, $^3$He, $^4$He and the corresponding antinuclei in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV are presented and compared with theoretical predictions to provide insight into their production mechanisms in heavy-ion collisions. The large variety of measurements performed with the ALICE apparatus at different energies and collision systems allows us to constrain the models of the production mechanisms of light flavour baryon clusters, in particular those based on the coalescence and statistical hadronisa…
ALICE is the LHC experiment devoted to the study of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). To probe this high energy density state of strongly interacting matter expected to be produced in heavy-ion collisions at high energies, measurements performed in various systems (pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb) are compared to each other. Heavy quarks are produced in initial hard partonic scatterings on a short time scale and participate in the subsequent evolution of the medium. This makes them sensitive probes of the QGP. With ALICE, open heavy flavours are studied using D mesons (D$^0$, D$^+$, D$^{*+}$) reconstructed via…
One of the key results of the LHC Run 1 was the observation of an enhanced production of strange particles in high multiplicity pp and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 7 and 5.02 TeV, respectively. The strangeness enhancement is investigated by measuring the evolution with multiplicity of single-strange and multi-strange baryon production relative to non-strange particles. A smooth increase of strange particle yields relative to the non-strange ones with event multiplicity has been observed in such systems. We report the latest results on multiplicity dependence of strange and mult…
Hadronic resonances, thanks to their relatively short lifetimes, can be used to probe the properties of the hadronic phase in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. In particular their lifetimes are exploited to investigate the interplay between particle rescattering and regeneration after hadronization. In this contribution we present recent results on $ρ(770)^0$, $K^{*}$(892), $ϕ$(1020), $Σ$(1385)$^{\pm}$, $Ξ(1530)^{0}$ and $Λ(1520)$ production in pp, p$-$Pb, Pb$-$Pb and Xe$-$Xe collisions at LHC energies.
Heavy quarks are produced in the early stages of ultra-relativistic hadron collisions via hard scatterings and are an important tool for studying different aspects of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) in hadronic collisions. Charged-particle multiplicity gives information on the global characteristics of the event and could be used to characterize particle production mechanisms. In hadronic collisions at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies, there is a significant contribution of multi-parton interactions. The measurement of heavy-flavour yields as a function of charged-particle multiplicity gives …
Measurements of the production of short-lived hadronic resonances are used to probe the properties of the late hadronic phase in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Since these resonances have lifetimes comparable to that of the fireball, they are sensitive to the competing effects of particle re-scattering and regeneration in the hadronic gas, which modify the observed particle momentum distributions and yields after hadronisation. Having different masses, quantum numbers and quark content, hadronic resonances carry a wealth of information on different aspects of ion-ion collisions, incl…
The ALICE detector is well suited to measure heavy-flavour (charm and beauty) production via hadronic and semi-leptonic decay channels of heavy-flavour particles. Here an overview of heavy-flavour measurements made with the ALICE detector during Run 1 in pp and p--Pb collisions is presented and discussed.
The ALICE Collaboration measures the production of low-mass dielectrons in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC. The main detectors used in the analyses are the Inner Tracking System, Time Projection Chamber and Time-Of-Flight detector, all located around mid-rapidity. The production of virtual photons relative to the inclusive yield in pp collisions is determined by analyzing the dielectron excess with respect to the expected hadronic sources. The direct photon cross section is then calculated and found to be in agreement with NLO pQCD calculations. Results from the invariant mass analysi…
We discuss the latest results from jet fragmentation and jet substructure measurements performed with the ALICE experiment in proton-proton and heavy-ion collisions in a wide range of jet transverse momentum. The jet production cross sections and cross section ratios for different jet resolution parameters will be shown in a wide range of $p_{\textrm{T}}$. Results will be compared to next-to-leading order pQCD calculations.
The ALICE Collaboration measures the production of low-mass dielectrons in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC. The main detectors used in the analyses are the Inner Tracking System, Time Projection Chamber and Time-Of-Flight detector, all located at mid-rapidity. The dielectron yield in p-Pb collisions shows an overall agreement with the hadronic cocktail. The pair transverse momentum distributions are sensitive to the contributions from open heavy-flavours. In Pb-Pb collisions, uncorrected background-subtracted yields have been extracted in two centrality classes. In pp collisions the p…
Heavy-flavour production measurements in pp collisions are important tools to test theoretical models based on perturbative quantum chromodymanics (pQCD) and to investigate the heavy-quark hadronization mechanisms. In ALICE, heavy quarks are measured via the hadronic and electronic decay channels at central rapidity (-0.9 $<$ $\textit{y}$ $<$ 0.9) and via the muon decay channels at forward rapidity (-4 $<$ $\textit{y}$ $<$ -2.5). In this contribution, the production cross-section measurements via the leptonic decay of heavy-flavour hadrons are presented and compared to pQCD theoretical calcula…
We report recent results from the ALICE experiment the Large Hadron Collider on open charmed hadron production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 2.76$ and 7 TeV, and Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}} = 2.76$ TeV. Open charmed hadrons are kinematically fully reconstructed in the hadronic decay channels \DtoKpi, \DtoKpipi, and \DstartoDpi %$D^0\rightarrow K^-π^+$, $D^+\rightarrow K^-π^+ π^+$, and $D^{*+} \rightarrow D^0 (K^-π^+) + π^+$ and identified through their invariant mass. Combinatorial background is minimized by selecting a displaced vertex topology. Inclusive charm a…
Strange quark and particle production is studied at the LHC with unprecedented high beam energies in both heavy-ion and proton-proton collisions: on the one hand, strangeness is used for investigating chemical equilibration and bulk properties; on the other hand, strange particles contribute to probe different kinematical domains, from the one where collective phenomena are at play up to the region dominated by pQCD-calculable processes. We highlight the suitability of the ALICE experiment for this topic, presenting our latest measurements and comparing them to models.
Measurements of charm and beauty production in pp collisions, using the ALICE detector system, at LHC energies ($\sqrt{s} = 2.76$ and 7.0 TeV) can test perturbative QCD down to very low Björken-x. They are also critical as a reference to ALICE's heavy ion program. The ALICE detector system allows measurements not covered by the other LHC experiments in addition to covering complementary regions. A description of the ALICE detector system, in relation to ATLAS and CMS, are presented. Results from both leptonic and hadronic decay channels will be shown along with comparisons to other measurement…
Measurements of quarkonia (heavy quark and antiquark bound states) and open-heavy flavour hadrons in hadronic collisions provide a unique testing ground for understanding quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Although recently there was significant progress, our understanding of hadronic collisions has been challenged by the observation of intriguing effects in high-multiplicity proton-proton (pp) and p-Pb collisions, such as collective phenomena. The excellent particle identification, track and decay-vertex reconstruction capabilities of the ALICE experiment are exploited to measure quarkonia as well…
The production of open heavy-flavour particles was studied in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=5.02$ TeV using the ALICE detector. Three separate observables were used: the hadronic decays of D mesons at mid-rapidity, and semileptonic decays of heavy-flavour hadrons to electrons and muons at mid-rapidity and forward rapidity, respectively. The most recent ALICE measurements of the nuclear modification factor, $R_\mathrm{pPb}$, of open charm and beauty are reported, along with the centrality and multiplicity dependence of D-meson production in p-Pb collisions.
Exploring the hadronic phase with momentum and azimuthal distribution of short-lived resonances and understanding the internal structure of exotic resonances with ALICE
Short lived hadronic resonances are a very important tool for the study of the dynamics of the matter produced in heavy-ion collisions since they should be sensitive to the medium properties such as temperature, density and expansion velocity. In particular they are sensitive to the time span between chemical and kinetic freeze-out of the hadronic phase of the fireball. The study of resonances in 7 TeV pp collisions is useful both in order to constrain QCD inspired models and to form a baseline for the production in heavy-ion collisions. The resonances $\mathrm{K}^{*0}$(892), $\phiup$(1020), $…
Probes for the small-x parton densities and predicted effects of gluon saturation are discussed. At very low x and intermediate Q, only results on hadronic observables at the LHC are available, which do not provide unambiguous information. It is shown that the measurement of direct photons at forward rapidity at the LHC is particularly promising to provide a unique signal. We further discuss the possibilities to perform such measurements with a detector upgrade in the ALICE experiment and present the R&D activities ongoing.
At the LHC collision energies, multiple parton interactions (MPI) are a key ingredient for particle production models including hard scale processes like heavy-quark production (charm and beauty). Quarkonium measurements in high-multiplicity proton-proton (pp) collisions can shed light on the role of MPI at such hard momentum scales, as well as on the interplay between hard and soft particle production mechanisms. In addition, quarkonium production measurements in minimum bias pp collisions, besides serving as a reference for heavy-ion collisions collected at the same center-of-mass energy, re…
Heavy quarks, produced in hard parton scatterings in the early stage of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, are ideal probes to investigate the properties of the Quark--Gluon Plasma (QGP) produced in such collisions. Measurements of heavy-flavour jets can provide constraints on energy-loss models. In particular, they add information on how the radiated energy is dissipated in the medium. Studies of angular correlations between heavy-flavour and charged particles allow us to characterize the heavy-quark fragmentation process and its possible modification in a hot nuclear matter environment…
Open heavy-flavour hadrons are a powerful tool to investigate the properties of the high-density medium created in heavy-ion collisions at high energies as they come from the hadronization of heavy quarks. The latter are created in the early stage of the interaction and experience the whole collision history. Heavy quarks in-medium energy loss can be investigated by comparing the heavy-flavour production cross sections in p-p and nucleus-nucleus collisions. In addition, initial spatial anisotropy of the fireball is converted into momentum anysotropy of final state particles, in particular the …
The study of strange hadronic resonances in pp collisions contributes to the study of strangeness production in small systems. Measurements in pp collisions constitute a reference for the study in larger colliding systems and provide constraints for tuning QCD-inspired event generators. Since the lifetimes of short-lived resonances such as $\mathrm{K}^{*}(892)^{\pm}$ ($τ\sim 4$ fm/\textit{c}) are comparable with the lifetime of the fireball produced in heavy-ion collisions, regeneration and rescattering effects can modify the measured yield, especially at low transverse momentum. The first res…
The ALICE experiment has measured the D meson production in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC at {\surd}s = 7 and 2.76 TeV and {\surd}sNN = 2.76 TeV respectively, via the exclusive reconstruction of hadronic decay channels. The analyses of the D0{\to}K-pi+ and D+{\to}K-pi+pi+ channels will be described and the preliminary results for the D0 and D+ nuclear modification factor will be presented.
A study of azimuthal correlations between D$^0$, D$^+$, and D$^{*+}$ and charged particles in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV is presented. D mesons were reconstructed from their hadronic decays at central rapidity ($|y| < 0.5$) in the transverse momentum range $3 \leq p_{\rm T}^{\rm D} \leq 16$ GeV/$c$ and they were correlated with charged particles reconstructed in the pseudorapidity range $|η| < 0.8$. Perspectives for the measurement in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.5 TeV after the ALICE upgrade are presented as well.
Charm and beauty production are probed with the ALICE experiment at the LHC by studying the single lepton transverse momentum distribution (electrons at mid-rapidity, muons at large-rapidities) and D mesons reconstructed in their hadronic decays. The differential production cross sections in proton proton interactions show a good agreement with perturbative QCD calculations at both sqrt(s) = 2.76 and 7 TeV. The measurements in lead lead reactions at sqrt(s_{NN})= 2.76 TeV evidence a reduction (or suppression) of the production rate at intermediate and high pt in the most central collisions wit…

In particular the measurements of $Λ_{\rm c}^{+}$-baryon production in pp collisions at ${\sqrt{\rm s}}$ = 5.02 TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\rm s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV are shown and compared with previous measurements performed using pp and p-Pb data samples collected during LHC Run 1. At mid-rapidity charmed baryons are reconstructed via their hadronic decay and semileptonic decay channels, exploiting the high precision tracking, excellent vertexing and particle identification capabilities offered …
The production mechanism of (anti)nuclei in ultrarelativistic hadronic collisions is under intense debate in the scientific community. The description of the experimental measurements is currently based on two competing phenomenological models: the statistical hadronization model and the coalescence approach. Light (anti)nuclei have been extensively measured in small collision systems, namely pp and p--Pb collisions, with ALICE at the LHC. Recent results on the (anti)deuteron production measured in jets and in the underlying event, and in high-multiplicity pp collisions at a center-of-mass ene…
Measurement of heavy-flavour production in small systems can be used to test the Quantum ChromoDynamic (QCD) models. In this manuscript, the production cross section of D mesons at midrapidity and open heavy-flavour decay muons (HFM) measured at forward rapidity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV, and open heavy-flavour decay electrons (HFE) measured at midrapidity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with ALICE detector will be presented. The self-normalized yield of open heavy-flavour decay electrons and muons as a function of multiplicity in pp and p$-$Pb collisions will be presen…
Charmonia, bound states of charm and anti-charm quarks, represent an interesting probe for the study of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) since their production involves both hard and soft energy scales. Several effective models are available to describe the production of charmonia, but so far none have been able to describe all experimental observables simultaneously. ALICE has studied the production of charmonia in different collision systems at all available LHC energies at both mid- and forward-rapidity down to zero transverse momentum. In this contribution, different measurements performed in …
Comparing the measurements of the hadronic final state from partonic showers in proton-proton and heavy-ion collisions will reveal the modifications generated by the medium on partons produced in hard scatterings. This can be achieved by selecting the hard processes in which there is a direct photon in the final state. The experimental technique consists in tagging events with a well identified high energy direct photon and in measuring the azimuthal angle correlation with charged hadrons. To establish a reference measurement for heavy-ion collisions, proton-proton collision data collected wit…
Hadrons containing heavy quarks, i.e. charm or beauty, are unique probes of the properties of the hot and dense QCD medium produced in heavy-ion collisions. Due to their large masses, heavy quarks are produced at the initial stage of the collision, almost exclusively via hard partonic scattering processes. Therefore, they are expected to experience the full collision history propagating through the QCD medium losing energy via elastic and inelastic collisions with the medium constituents. The ALICE collaboration has measured the production of open heavy-flavour hadrons via their hadronic and s…
The event-by-event fluctuations of identified particles in ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions give information about the state of matter created in these collisions as well as the phase diagram of nuclear matter. In this proceedings, we present the latest results from ALICE on the centrality and pseudorapidity dependence of net-proton fluctuations, which are closely related to net-baryon fluctuations, as well as net-kaon and net-pion fluctuations. The effects of volume fluctuations and global baryon conservation on these observables are discussed. Furthermore, the correlated fluctuat…
Results on open heavy-flavour production in p-p collisions at sqrt{s} = 7 and 2.76 TeV measured with ALICE at the LHC are presented. Open heavy flavour production is studied using semileptonic decays to electrons and muons and, for open charm states (D0, D+, D* and Ds) at central rapidity, also from exclusive hadronic decay channels.
In this paper, the first femtoscopic analysis of pion-kaon correlations at the LHC is reported. The analysis was performed on the Pb-Pb collision data at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV recorded with the ALICE detector. The non-identical particle correlations probe the spatio-temporal separation between sources of different particle species as well as the average source size of the emitting system. The sizes of the pion and kaon sources increase with centrality, and pions are emitted closer to the centre of the system and/or later than kaons. This is naturally expected in a system with strong …
The measurement of jets recoiling from a trigger hadron in heavy-ion collisions can be used to understand the properties of the Quark Gluon Plasma. Jet-medium interactions cause jets to lose energy in the medium and may modify the jet structure. Jet deflection towards large angles due to scattering off of quasi-particles in the Quark-Gluon Plasma may also occur, which can be studied through a measurement of the hadron-jet acoplanarity. These phenomena can be studied through the semi-inclusive distribution of track-based jets recoiling from a trigger hadron. This contribution presents the lates…
Hadronic resonances are unique tools to investigate the interplay of re-scattering and regeneration effects in the hadronic phase of heavy-ion collisions. As the $ϕ$ meson has a longer lifetime compared to other resonances, it is expected that its production will not be affected by regeneration and re-scattering processes. Measurements in small collision systems such as proton-proton (pp) collisions provide a necessary baseline for heavy-ion data and help to tune pQCD inspired event generators. Given that the $ϕ$ is a bound state of strange-antistrange quark pair (s$\bar{\rm{s}}$), measurement…
The properties of the hot and dense QCD medium formed in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions, as well as the mechanism of in-medium partonic energy loss, can be accessed via the study of the D mesons nuclear modification factor. The ALICE experiment has measured D meson production in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC at $\sqrt{s}$ =7 and 2.76 TeV and at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV, respectively, via the exclusive reconstruction of hadronic decay channels. D mesons are selected by exploiting the high-resolution tracking performance and the hadron identification capabilities of the ALICE det…
Heavy flavour is mainly produced during the initial hard partonic interactions in a heavy ion collision, and is well-suited to probe the early phases of the evolution of the system. This contribution will focus on Pb--Pb analyses at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 2.76 TeV, with some hints at the $\pp$ data at 7 and 2.76 TeV. Results of open heavy flavour analyses will be shown for various decay channels, including electrons, muons, and hadronic charm decays, together with results obtained for heavy quarkonia at both central and forward rapidities.
The measurement of (anti)nuclei production in pp, p-A and A-A collisions at ultrarelativistic energies is important to understand hadronization. The excellent tracking and particle identification capabilities of ALICE make it the most suited detector at the LHC to study light (anti)nuclei produced in high-energy hadronic collisions. (Anti)nuclei with mass numbers up to 4, such as (anti)deuterons, (anti)tritons, (anti)$^3$He and (anti)$^4$He have been successfully identified in ALICE at midrapidity ($|η|<$0.9). In this contribution, multiplicity dependent results on the yields, nuclei-to-proton…
Bottomonium production is a powerful tool to investigate hadron collisions and the properties of the medium created in heavy-ion collisions. According to the color-screening model, these mesons give important information about the deconfined medium called Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. Cold nuclear matter (CNM) effects can modify the bottomonium production even in absence of deconfined matter: the study of proton-nucleus collisions is therefore essential to disentangle these effects from the hot ones. Last but not least, measurement in pp collision…
Thanks to its excellent tracking and particle identification performance, the ALICE detector is capable of measuring D mesons at central rapidity via their hadronic decay channels down to very low transverse momentum. We show an extension of the prompt ${\rm D}^0$ $p_{\rm T}$-differential cross section measurement down to zero transverse momentum, which allows us to determine the $p_{\rm T}$-integrated charm production cross section at central rapidity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV. We also present measurements of azimuthal correlations of prompt ${\rm D}^0$, ${\rm D}^+$ and ${\rm D}^…
