In the present note we develop some theoretical results in the theory of anisotropic compressed sensing that allow to take structured sparsity and variable density structured sampling into account. We expect that the obtained results will be useful to derive explicit expressions for optimal sampling strategies in the non-Cartesian (radial, spiral, etc.) setting in MRI.

Inspired by the recently proposed Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting technique, we develop a principled compressed sensing framework for quantitative MRI. The three key components are: a random pulse excitation sequence following the MRF technique; a random EPI subsampling strategy and an iterative projection algorithm that imposes consistency with the Bloch equations. The paper introduces a framework for the recoverability analysis in compressive sensing for imaging applications such as CI cameras, rapid MRI and coded apertures. An algorithmic framework, based on the difference of convex functions algorithm (DCA), is proposed for minimizing a class of concave sparse metrics for compressed sensing problems. The resulting algorithm iterates a sequence of $\ell_1$ minimization problems.
