Ergodic Decomposition for Inverse Wishart Measures on Infinite Positive-Definite Matrices

The ergodic unitarily invariant measures on the space of infinite Hermitian matrices have been classified by Pickrell and Olshanski-Vershik. The much-studied complex inverse Wishart measures form a projective family, thus giving rise to a unitarily invariant measure on infinite positive-definite matrices. In this paper we completely solve the corresponding problem of ergodic decomposition for this measure.

Fluctuation suppression and enhancement in interacting particle systems

We investigate in this work the effects of interaction on the fluctuation of empirical measures. The systems with positive definite interaction potentials tend to exhibit smaller fluctuation compared to the fluctuation in standard Monte Carlo sampling while systems with negative definite potentials tend to exhibit larger fluctuation. Moreover, if the temperature goes to zero, the fluctuation for positive definite kernels in the long time tends to vanish to zero, while the fluctuation for negative definite kernels in the long time tends to blow up to infinity. Hoffmann-Jørgensen Inequalities for Random Walks on the Cone of Positive Definite Matrices

We consider random walks on the cone of $m \times m$ positive definite matrices, where the underlying random matrices have orthogonally invariant distributions on the cone and the Riemannian metric is the measure of distance on the cone. By applying results of Khare and Rajaratnam (Ann. Probab., 45 (2017), 4101--4111), we obtain inequalities of Hoffmann-Jørgensen type for such random walks on the cone. Hyper-positive definite functions II: A complete study of branching-Toeplitz operators

We introduce and give a more or less complete study of a family of branching-Toeplitz operators on the Hilbert space $\ell^2(T_q)$ indexed by a rooted homogeneous tree $T_q$ of degree $q\ge 2$. The finite dimensional analogues of such operators form a very natural family of structured sparse matrices called branching-Toeplitz matrices and will also be investigated.
