We present a search strategy for the first Kaluza-Klein (KK) mode of the Higgs boson in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with a deformed metric. We study the production of this massive excitation in association with a ttbar pair at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The KK Higgs primarily decays into a boosted ttbar final state and we then end up with an interesting four-top final state of which two are boosted. The boosted products in the final state improve the sensitivity for the search of the KK Higgs in this channel whose production cross-section is otherwise rather small. Our results suggest that masses of the KK Higgs resonance upto about 1.2 TeV may be explorable at the highest planned luminosities of the LHC. Beyond this mass, the KK Higgs cross-section is too tiny for it to be explored at the LHC and may be possible only at a future higher energy collider.
We review the potential of the LHC to detect a very light CP-odd Higgs boson of the NMSSM, $a_1$, through its direct production in association with a bottom-quark pair at large tan$β$. We also review the LHC discovery potential of the two lightest CP-even Higgs states, decaying into two lighter Higgs states or into the lightest CP-odd Higgs state and the $Z$ gauge boson.
The scattering amplitudes for Higgs + 5 partons are computed, with the Higgs boson produced via gluon fusion in the large top-quark mass limit. A parton-level analysis of Higgs + 3 jet production via gluon fusion and via weak-boson fusion is presented, and the effectiveness of a central-jet veto is analysed.
We investigate the production of Higgs particles in association with the supersymmetric scalar partners of the top quark at proton colliders. In the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, the cross sections for the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in association with top squark pairs can be rather large, substantially exceeding the rate for the associated Higgs boson production with top quarks. If the lightest top squark is not much heavier than the top quark, this process will enhance the potential of the CERN Large Hadron Collider to discover the lightest neutr…
We calculate the cross section for the production of a Z boson in association with heavy quarks. We suggest that this cross section can be measured using an inclusive heavy-quark tagging technique. This could be used as a feasibility study for the search for a Higgs boson produced in association with bottom quarks. We argue that the best formalism for calculating that cross section is based on the leading-order process b b -> h, and that it is valid for all Higgs masses of interest at both the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
We present an update on the next-to-leading order calculation of the rate for Higgs boson production in association with two jets. Our new calculation incorporates the full analytic result for the one-loop virtual amplitude. Results are presented for the Tevatron, where implications for the Higgs search are sketched, and for the LHC at \sqrt{s}=7 TeV.
Higgs production in association with three jets via gluon fusion (GF) is an important channel for the measurement of the CP-properties of the Higgs particle at the LHC. In this letter, we go beyond the heavy top effective theory approximation and include at LO the full mass dependence of the top- and bottom-quark contributions. We consider the dominant sub-channel gg -> H ggg which involves the manipulation of massive rank-5 hexagon integrals. Furthermore, we present results for several differential distributions and show deviations from the effective theory as large as 100% at high pT for lig…
We argue that the leading-order subprocess for Higgs-boson production in association with bottom quarks is (b\bar{b} -> H). This process is an important source of Higgs bosons with enhanced Yukawa coupling to bottom quarks. We calculate the corrections to this cross section at next-to-leading-order in 1/ln(m_H/m_b) and alpha_s and at next-to-next-to-leading order in 1/ln(m_H/m_b).
I present approximate next-to-next-to-leading-order (aNNLO) total and differential cross sections for charged Higgs production in association with a top quark at LHC energies. The aNNLO results for the process $bg \rightarrow tH^-$ are derived from next-to-next-to-leading-logarithm (NNLL) resummation of soft-gluon corrections. Scale and parton-distribution uncertainties for the cross sections are shown. The top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions are also calculated.
The dominant contribution to the Higgs production in association with bottom quark pair at the LHC is gluon-gluon fusion parton subprocess. We present a complete calculation of the next-to-leading order (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections to this channel. The other small contributions with quarks in the initial state are calculated at tree level. We find that the NLO EW corrections can suppress the leading order (LO) contributions significantly.
Associated production of a Higgs boson with a heavy, i.e. top or bottom, quark-anti-quark pair provide observation channels for Higgs bosons at the LHC which can be used to measure the respective Yukawa couplings. For the light supersymmetric Higgs boson we present SUSY-QCD corrections at the one-loop level, which constitute a significant contribution to the cross section.
Higgs boson production in association with a hard central photon and two forward tagging jets is expected to provide valuable information on Higgs boson couplings in a range where it is difficult to disentangle weak-boson fusion processes from large QCD backgrounds. We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Higgs production in association with a photon via weak-boson fusion at a hadron collider in the form of a flexible parton-level Monte Carlo program. The QCD corrections to integrated cross sections are found to be small for experimentally relevant selection cuts, while the shape o…
Higgs bosons from an extended Higgs sector, such as a two-Higgs-doublet model, can have greatly enhanced coupling to the bottom quark. Producing such a Higgs boson in association with a single high-p_T bottom quark via g b -> h b allows for the suppression of backgrounds. Previous studies have instead used g g,qbar q -> bbar b h as the production mechanism, which is valid only if both b quarks are at high p_T. We calculate g b -> h b at next-to-leading order in QCD, and find that it is an order of magnitude larger than g g,qbar q -> bbar b h at the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN Large Hadron C…
We discuss the calculation of charged Higgs boson production in association with top quark in the MC@NLO framework for combining NLO matrix elements with a parton shower. The process is defined in a model independent manner for wide applicability, and can be used if the charged Higgs boson mass is either greater or less than the mass of the top quark. For the latter mass region, care is needed in defining the charged Higgs production mode due to interference with top pair production. We give a suitable definition applicable in an NLO (plus parton shower) context, and present example results fo…
The direct observation of the Yukawa interaction related to Standard Model Higgs and the bottom quark is obtained from the $h\to b\bar{b}$ process recently. The b-tagging becomes an important tool to search for new heavy resonance production at LHC. We use the b-tagging method to investigate the neutral Higgs production in association with a bottom quark pair, and perform the detector simulation for the signal process with the Higgs decaying into $b\bar{b}$ or $τ^+τ^-$ together with the dominant backgrounds. Our results show that $b\bar{b}b\bar{b}$ and $b\bar{b}τ^+τ^-$ processes will play an i…
We present the calculation of the next-to-leading contribution of order $α_S^2α^2$ to the production of a Standard Model Higgs boson in association with a top-quark pair at hadron colliders. All effects of weak and QCD origin are included, whereas those of QED origin are ignored. We work in the MadGraph5_aMC@NLO framework, and discuss sample phenomenological applications at a 8, 13, and 100 TeV $pp$ collider, including the effects of the dominant next-to-leading QCD corrections of order $α_S^3α$.
We present the calculation of scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs production in association with a top-antitop pair to the next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy in QCD, interfaced with parton showers according to the MC@NLO formalism. We apply our results to the cases of light and very light Higgs boson production at the LHC, giving results for total rates as well as for sample differential distributions, relevant to the Higgs, to the top quarks, and to their decay products. This work constitutes the first phenomenological application of aMC@NLO, a fully automated approach to complete event generatio…
We calculate the Yukawa corrections of order $O(α_{ew}m_{t(b)}^{2}/m_{W}^{2})$ to charged Higgs boson production in association with a top quark at the Tevatron and the LHC. The corrections are not very sensitive to the mass of the charged Higgs boson and can exceed -20% for low values of $\tanβ$, where the contribution of the top quark is large, and high values of $\tanβ$ where the contribution of the bottom quark becomes large. These Yukawa corrections could be significant for charged Higgs boson discovery searches based on this production process, particularly at the LHC where the cross sec…
In this paper, we analyze the high-energy limits for Higgs boson plus two jet production. We consider two high-energy limits, corresponding to two different kinematic regions: a) the Higgs boson is centrally located in rapidity between the two jets, and very far from either jet; b) the Higgs boson is close to one jet in rapidity, and both of these are very far from the other jet. In both cases the amplitudes factorize into impact factors or coefficient functions connected by gluons exchanged in the t channel. Accordingly, we compute the coefficient function for the production of a Higgs boson …
The production of the lightest Higgs boson, $h^0$, in association with the lightest stop, $\tilde{t}_{1}$, in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, is an interesting channel, as its cross section can be higher than Higgs production in association with top quarks. Furthermore, the $\tilde{t}_{1}\tilde{t}^{*}_{1}h^{0}$ production rate is highly dependent on various Supersymmetric parameters. The mass, mixings, couplings and production cross sections relevant to the $\tilde{t}_{1}\tilde{t}^{*}_{1}h^{0}$ channel have been studied in the past. Here, we complement these analyses by performing a…
We present the full ${\cal O}(α_{ew})$ electroweak radiative corrections to the Higgs-boson production in association with $Z^0$-boson pair at an electron-positron linear collider(LC) in the standard model. We analyze the dependence of the full one-loop corrections on the Higgs-boson mass $m_{H}$ and colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$. We find that the corrections significantly suppress the Born cross section, and the ${\cal O}(α_{ew})$ electroweak radiative corrections are generally between 1.0% and -15% in our chosen parameter space, which should be taken into consideration in the future precise ex…
In the Standard Model, the coupling of the Higgs boson to b quarks is weak, leading to small cross sections for producing a Higgs boson in association with b quarks. However, Higgs bosons with enhanced couplings to b quarks, such as occur in supersymmetric models for large values of tan beta, will be copiously produced at both the Tevatron and the LHC in association with b quarks, which will be an important discovery channel. We investigate the connections between the production channels, bg -> bh and gg ->b bbar h, at next-to-leading order (NLO) in perturbative QCD and present results for the…
We present a new framework for calculating multi-jet observables. The framework is based on the factorisation of scattering amplitudes in the kinematical limit of large invariant mass between all particles. We show that by constraining the analyticity of scattering amplitudes away from this limits, we get good agreement order by order with the full, fixed order perturbative calculation at the low orders where these are available, and therefore get firm predictions on the all-order behaviour. As an example, we study Higgs boson production through gluon fusion in association with at least two je…
We study the associated production of a CP-odd Higgs boson $A^0$ with a neutral gauge boson ($Z$ or photon) in high-energy $e^+ e^-$ collisions at the one-loop level in the framework of Two Higgs Doublet Models (THDM). We find that in the small $\tanβ$ regime the top quark loop contribution is enhanced leading to significant cross-sections (about a few fb), while in the large $\tanβ$ regime the cross-section does not attain observable rates.
Search for the Higgs Boson is one of the prime goals of the LHC. Higgs bosons lighter than 130 GeV decay mainly to a b-quark pair. While the detection of a directly produced Higgs boson in the bb channel is impossible because of the huge QCD background, the channel ttH -> lnqqbbbb is very promising in the Standard Model and the MSSM. We discuss an event reconstruction and selection method based on likelihood functions. The CMS detector response is performed with parametrisations obtained from detailed simulations. Various physics and detector performance scenarios are investigated and the resu…
We study neutral and charged Higgs boson production in association with stop and sbottom squarks at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), within the so-called M-SUGRA scenario, i.e., the Supergravity (SUGRA) inspired Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). For low values of \tanβonly the cases \tilde{t}_1\tilde{t}_1^* H, \tilde{t}_1\tilde{t}_1^* h and \tilde{t}_1\tilde{t}_2^* h give detectable rates while for \tanβgreater than 30 a variety of signals involving all Higgs bosons can be accessed, at high collider luminosity. The dependence of these reactions on the M-SUGRA parameters might furth…
We study the processes `gluon gluon -> squark antisquark CP-odd Higgs' within the theoretical framework of the Supergravity (SUGRA) inspired Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) at the leading order (LO) in perturbative Quantum Chromo-Dynamics (QCD). Other than constituting a novel production mechanism of the neutral, CP-odd Higgs particle, they also allow one to relate the size of the corresponding production rates to the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs fields tan(beta), to the trilinear couplings A_0 and to the sign of the Higgsino mass term sign(mu). This int…
We elucidate a new technique for estimating the production of multiple (at least two) hard jets in Higgs production via gluon-gluon fusion. The approach is based upon high energy factorisation, with the region of applicability extended by constraints on the analytic behaviour of the scattering amplitudes stemming from known all-order results. The method approximates both real and virtual corrections, and allows for the resummation in an n-parton inclusive event sample of the terms dominant in the high energy limit. The resulting approximation is matched to the known tree level matrix elements …
We present compact analytic formulae for all one-loop amplitudes representing the production of a Higgs boson in association with two jets, mediated by a colour triplet scalar particle. Many of the integral coefficients present for scalar mediators are identical to the case when a massive fermion circulates in the loop, reflecting a close relationship between the two theories. The calculation is used to study Higgs boson production in association with two jets in a simplified supersymmetry (SUSY) scenario in which the dominant additional contributions arise from loops of top squarks. The resul…
We study the production of a Higgs boson in association with bottom quarks in hadronic collisions, and present phenomenological predictions relevant to the 13 TeV LHC. Our results are accurate to the next-to-leading order in QCD, and matched to parton showers through the MC@NLO method; thus, they are fully differential and based on unweighted events, which we shower by using both Herwig++ and Pythia8. We perform the computation in both the four-flavour and the five-flavour schemes, whose results we compare extensively at the level of exclusive observables. In the case of the Higgs transverse m…
We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Higgs production in association with a photon via weak boson fusion at a hadron collider. Utilizing the fully flexible parton level Monte-Carlo program VBFNLO, we find small overall corrections, while the shape of some distributions is sensitive to radiative contributions in certain regions of phase-space. Residual scale uncertainties at next-to-leading order are at the few-percent level. Being perturbatively well under control and exhibiting kinematic features that allow to distinguish it from potential backgrounds, this process can serve as…
The Higgs-boson production in association with a W-boson pair at $e^+e^-$ linear colliders is one of the important processes in probing the coupling between Higgs-boson and vector gauge bosons and discovering the signature of new physics. We describe the impact of the complete electroweak(EW) radiative corrections of ${\cal O}(α_{ew})$ to this process in the standard model(SM) at the International Linear Collider(ILC), and investigate the dependence of the lowest-order(LO) and EW next-to-leading order(NLO) corrected cross sections on colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$ and Higg-boson mass. The LO and …
We present a detailed study of Higgs boson production in association with a single top quark at the LHC, at next-to-leading order accuracy in QCD. We consider total and differential cross sections, at the parton level as well as by matching short distance events to parton showers, for both t-channel and s-channel production. We provide predictions relevant for the LHC at 13 TeV together with a thorough evaluation of the residual uncertainties coming from scale variation, parton distributions, strong coupling constant and heavy quark masses. In addition, for t-channel production, we compare res…
We report on a calculation of the cross-section for Higgs boson production in gluon fusion in association with a hadronic jet at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD. The computational technique is discussed in detail. We show explicitly how to employ known soft and collinear limits of scattering amplitudes to construct subtraction terms for NNLO computations. Cancellation of singularities is demonstrated numerically for the collinearly-subtracted $gg \to H + j $ cross-section through NNLO and the finite $σ_{gg \to Hj}$ cross-section is computed through ${\cal O}(α_s^5)$ as…
We present results from the analytic calculation of top+antitop+Higgs hadronic production at Next-to-Leading Order in QCD interfaced with parton-shower Monte Carlo event generators in the POWHEG BOX framework. We consider kinematic distributions of the top quark and Higgs boson at the 8 TeV Large Hadron Collider and study the theoretical uncertainties due to specific choices of renormalization/factorization scales and parton-showering algorithms, namely PYTHIA and HERWIG. The importance of spin-correlations in the production and decay stages of a top/antitop quark is discussed on the example o…
We present the calculation of the cross section for Higgs boson production in association with a top quark pair plus one jet, at next-to-leading-order (NLO) accuracy in QCD. All mass dependence is retained without recurring to any approximation. After including the complete NLO QCD corrections, we observe a strong reduction in the scale dependence of the result. We also show distributions for the invariant mass of the top quark pair, with and without the additional jet, and for the transverse momentum and the pseudorapidity of the Higgs boson. Results for the virtual contributions are obtained…
In the context of the little Higgs models, we discuss single production of the new charged gauge bosons in association with top quark at the $CERN$ Large Hadron Collider$(LHC)$. We find that the new charged gauge bosons $W_{H}^{-}$ and $X^{-}$, which are predicted by the littlest Higgs model and the SU(3) simple model, respectively, can be abundantly produced at the $LHC$. However, since the main backgrounds coming from the processes $pp\to t\bar{t}+X$ and $pp\to tW^{-}+X$ are very large, the values of the ratios $N_{W}$ and $N_{X}$ are very small in most of the parameter space. It is only pos…
In a previous paper, we studied the Higgs pair production in the standard model with the reaction $e^{+}e^{-}\to t \bar t HH$. Based on this, we study the Higgs pair production via $e^{+}e^{-}\to b \bar b HH$. We evaluate the total cross section of $b\bar bHH$ and calculate the number total of events considering the complete set of Feynman diagrams at tree-level, and compare this process with the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to t \bar t HH$. The numerical computation is done for the energy which is expected to be available at a possible Next Linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ Collider with a center-of-mass energy $80…
We present an analysis of Higgs-boson production in association with a top-quark pair at the LHC investigating in particular the final state consisting of four b jets, two jets, one identified charged lepton and missing energy. We consider the Standard Model prediction in three scenarios, the resonant Higgs-boson plus top-quark-pair production, the resonant production of a top-quark pair in association with a b-jet pair and the full process including all non-resonant and interference contributions. By comparing these scenarios we examine the irreducible background for the production rate and s…
I discuss charged-Higgs production via two different processes: in association with a top quark, and in association with a $W$ boson. I present total cross sections and differential distributions that include higher-order corrections from soft and collinear gluon emission through aN$^3$LO. I show that these radiative corrections are significant.
The charged Higgs associated production with a W boson has a smooth cross section as a function of the charged Higgs mass at muon colliders. The cross section in Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model is about 25fb in the range 200 GeV < mH < 400 GeV with tanbeta = 50. This is much larger than the corresponding cross section at an e+e- collider which reaches a fraction of femtobarn. The observability of this channel at a muon collider has been recently studied in an earlier work leading to the result that with 1 ab-1, a 5sigma signal can be observed throughout the aforementioned mass range. In …
We consider the real emission QCD correction to heavy Higgs boson production via weak boson fusion in high energy $pp$ collisions. The ${\cal O}(α_s)$ corrections are determined for the complete electroweak $q q \rightarrow q q W^+ W^-$ process. The presence of a third parton in the final state affects the formation of rapidity gaps only slightly. In particular, soft emission into the gap region is severely suppressed. Also, we investigate how the additional hard emission affects forward-jet-tagging and central-jet-vetoing efficiencies in the search for $H \rightarrow W^+ W^- \rightarrow \ell^…
Possibility of observing associated production of charged Higgs and W boson in the framework of MSSM at LHC is studied. Both leptonic and hadronic decays of W boson are studied while the charged Higgs boson is considered to decay to a $τ$ lepton and a neutrino. Therefore two search categories are defined based on the leptonic and hadronic final states, i.e. $\ell τ+E^{miss}_{T}$ and $jj τ+E^{miss}_{T}$ where $\ell=e$ or $μ$ and $j$ is a light jet from $W$ decay. The discovery chance of the two categories is evaluated at an integrated luminosity of 300 \invfb at LHC. It is shown that both lepto…
It is important to explore the Higgs sector in order to identify the model beyond the standard model. We study the charged Higgs production in the $γγ$ mode of a linear collider (LC) with 1000 GeV center of mass energy. We show that the cross sections for the $γγ\to H^\pm W^\mp$ processes can be significantly enhanced in the two Higgs doublet model (THDM). The cross section can reach 0.1 - 100 fb which is comparable to other charged Higgs boson production processes at a photon collider. While for other processes the cross sections are too small for $m_H^\pm \geq 500$ GeV, $0.1 - 100$ fb can be…
We calculate the $O(α_{ew}m_{t(b)}^{2}/m_{W}^{2})$ and $O(α_{ew} m_{t(b)}^4/m_W^4)$ supersymmetric electroweak corrections to the cross section for the charged Higgs boson production in association with a top quark at the Tevatron and the LHC. These corrections arise from the quantum effects which are induced by potentially large Yukawa couplings from the Higgs sector and the chargino-top(bottom)-sbottom(stop) couplings, neutralino-top(bottom)-stop(sbottom) couplings and charged Higgs-stop-sbottom couplings. They can decrease or increase the cross section depending on $\tanβ$ but are not very …
The first computation of Higgs production in association with three jets at NLO in QCD has recently been performed using the effective theory, where the top quark is treated as an infinitely heavy particle and integrated out. This approach is restricted to the regions in phase space where the typical scales are not larger than the top quark mass. Here we investigate this statement at a quantitative level by calculating the leading-order contributions to the production of a Standard Model Higgs boson in association with up to three jets taking full top-quark and bottom-quark mass dependence int…
We present an implementation of the full electroweak $H+2~\text{jets}$ production process at hadron colliders in the framework of the $\tt{POWHEG~BOX}$, a public tool for the matching of fixed-order perturbative calculations with parton shower generators. Our implementation allows for the simultaneous description of vector-boson fusion and Higgsstrahlung contributions. NLO-QCD and electroweak corrections are taken into account and matched to QCD and QED showers, respectively. The size of the fixed-order QCD and electroweak corrections is found to be moderate, but dependent on the considered se…
The hadronic production of a Higgs boson (H) in association with b jets will play an important role in investigating the Higgs-boson couplings to Standard Model particles during Run II of the CERN Large Hadron Collider, and could in particular reveal the presence of anomalies in the assumed hierarchy of Yukawa couplings to the third-generation quarks. A very high degree of accuracy in the theoretical description of this process is crucial to implement the rich physics program that could lead to either direct or indirect evidence of new physics from Higgs-boson measurements. Aiming for accuracy…
We study Higgs boson production in association with a pair of electroweak vector bosons ($WW,ZZ,Zγ$) at future $\epem$ colliders in the framework of the Standard Model. Total cross sections and distributions for the intermediate-mass Higgs are presented, with special emphasis on the Next Linear Collider (NLC) case operating at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} \simeq 500$ GeV, where the cross sections turn out to be more favourable than in larger-$\sqrt{s}$ collisions. We find that with an integrated luminosity of 20 fb$^{-1}$ there is a sizeable event rate for the $HWW$ and $HZγ$ (with a high…
We compute the hadronic production of top-antitop pairs in association with a Higgs boson at next-to-leading-order QCD, including the decay of the top and antitop quark into bottom quarks and leptons. Our computation is based on full leading and next-to-leading-order matrix elements for $e^+ ν_e μ^-\barν_μb \bar{b} H(j)$ and includes all non-resonant contributions, off-shell effects and interferences. Numerical results for the integrated cross section and several differential distributions are given for the LHC operating at 13 TeV using a fixed and a dynamical factorization and renormalization…
We review the present status of the QCD corrected cross sections and kinematic distributions for the production of a Higgs boson in association with bottom quarks at the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN Large Hadron Collider. Results are presented for the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model where, for large tan beta, these production modes can be greatly enhanced compared to the Standard Model case. The next-to-leading order QCD results are much less sensitive to the renormalization and factorization scales than the lowest order results, but have a significant dependence on the choice of the renor…
Many new physics models beyond the standard model, such as the littlest higgs models and the left right twin higgs models, predict the existence of the large charged higgs couplings H^-q\bar b and H^+b\bar q, where q=t or the new vector-like heavy quark T; On the other hand, some new physics models like the littlest higgs also predict the gauge-higgs couplings. Such couplings may have rich collider phenomenology. We focus our attention on these couplings induced by the littlest higgs models and the left right twin higgs models models and consider their contributions to the production cross sec…
We study associated Higgs production with a photon at electron-positron colliders, $e^+e^-\to hγ$, in various extended Higgs models, such as the inert doublet model (IDM), the inert triplet model (ITM) and the two Higgs doublet model (THDM). The cross section in the standard model (SM) is maximal around $\sqrt{s}=$250 GeV, and we present how and how much the new physics can enhance or reduce the production rate. We also discuss the correlation with the $h\toγγ$ and $h\to Zγ$ decay rates. We find that, with a sizable coupling to a SM-like Higgs boson, charged scalars can give considerable contr…
We present a detailed phenomenological analysis of the production of a Standard Model Higgs boson in association with up to three jets. We consider the gluon fusion channel using an effective theory in the large top-quark mass limit. Higgs boson production in gluon fusion constitutes an irreducible background to the vector boson fusion (VBF) process; hence the precise knowledge of its characteristics is a prerequisite for any measurement in the VBF channel. The calculation is carried out at next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD in a fully automated way by combining the two programs GoSam and Sher…
We present results of a calculation of the cross section for the production of a charged Higgs boson in association with an electron and a neutrino at electron-positron colliders (e+ e- -> H+ e- nu_e-bar, H- e+ nu_e). We study predictions for the cross section in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and the Two Higgs Doublet Model (THDM), highlighting possible differences. The process is effectively loop-induced in both models. Hence, the cross section is expected to be strongly model-dependent. Most notably, due to the presence of superpartners, the MSSM amplitude contains Feynman…
The models of large extra compact dimensions, as suggested by Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali, predict exciting phenomenological consequences with gravitational interactions becoming strong at the TeV scale. Such theories can be tested at the existing and future colliders. In this paper, we study the contribution of virtual Kaluza-Klein excitations in the process $e^+e^- \to t \bar t H $ at future linear collider (NLC). We find that the virtual exchange KK gravitons can modify the cross-section $σ(e^+e^- \to t \bar t H)$ significantly from its Standard Model value and will allow the effecti…
We have calculated the complete O(alpha) and O(alpha_s) radiative corrections to the Higgs-production process e+ e- -> t anti-t H in the Standard Model. This process is particularly interesting for the measurement of the top-quark Yukawa coupling at a future e+ e- collider. The calculation of the O(alpha) corrections is described in some detail including, in particular, the treatment of the soft and collinear singularities. The discussion of numerical results focuses on the total cross section as well as on angular and energy distributions of the outgoing particles. The electroweak corrections…
