We completely characterize the higher rank numerical range of the matrices of the form $J_n(α)\oplusβI_m$, where $J_n(α)$ is the $n\times n$ Jordan block with eigenvalue $α$. Our characterization allows us to obtain concrete examples of several extreme properties of higher rank numerical ranges.

The effect of finite rank perturbations on Jordan chains of linear operators

A general result on the structure and dimension of the root subspaces of a matrix or a linear operator under finite rank perturbations is proved: The increase of dimension from the $n$-th power of the kernel of the perturbed operator to the $(n+1)$-th power differs from the increase of dimension of the corresponding powers of the kernels of the unperturbed operator by at most the rank of the perturbation and this bound is sharp.

Existence of flipped orthogonal conjugate symmetric Jordan canonical bases for real H-selfadjoint matrices

For real matrices selfadjoint in an indefinite inner product there are two special canonical Jordan forms, that is (i) flipped orthogonal (FO) and (ii) $γ$-conjugate symmetric (CS). These are the classical Jordan forms with certain additional properties induced by the fact that they are $H$-selfadjoint. In this paper we prove that for any real $H$-selfadjoint matrix there is a $γ$-FOCS Jordan form that is simultaneously flipped orthogonal and $γ$-conjugate symmetric.

Singular Hilbert modules on Jordan-Kepler varieties

We study submodules of analytic Hilbert modules defined over certain algebraic varieties in bounded symmetric domains, the so-called Jordan-Kepler varieties $V_\ell$ of arbitrary rank $\ell.$ For $\ell>1$ the singular set of $V_\ell$ is not a complete intersection. Hence the usual monoidal transformations do not suffice for the resolution of the singularities. Instead, we describe a new higher rank version of the blow-up process, defined in terms of Jordan algebraic determinants, and apply this resolution to obtain the rigidity of the submodules vanishing on the singular set.

Lipschitz stability of $γ$-FOCS and RC canonical Jordan bases of real $H$-selfadjoint matrices under small perturbations

In 2008 Bella, Olshevsky and Prasad proved that the flipped orthogonal (FO) Jordan bases of H-selfadjoint matrices are Lipschitz stable under small perturbations. In 2022, Dogruer, Minenkova and Olshevsky considered the real case, and proved that for real H-selfadjoint matrices there exist a more refined bases called FOCS bases. In addition to flipped orthogonality they also possess the conjugate symmetric (CS) property. In this paper we prove that these new FOCS bases are Lipschitz stable under small perturbations as well. The Infinite Gauss-Jordan Elimination on Row-Finite ω x ω Matrices

The Gauss-Jordan elimination algorithm is extended to reduce a row-finite $ω\timesω$ matrix to lower row-reduced form, founded on a strategy of rightmost pivot elements. Such reduced matrix form preserves row equivalence, unlike the dominant (upper) row-reduced form. This algorithm provides a constructive alternative to an earlier existence and uniqueness result for Quasi-Hermite forms based on the axiom of countable choice. As a consequence, the general solution of an infinite system of linear equations with a row-finite coefficient $ω\timesω$ matrix is fully constructible.

Dynamics of tuples of matrices in Jordan form

A tuple (T_1,...,T_k) of (n x n) matrices over R is called hypercyclic if for some x in R^n the set {T^{m_1} T^{m_2}...T^{m_k} x : m_1,m_2,...,m_k in N} is dense in R^n.
