The main aim of this paper is to derive some new summation theorems for terminating and truncated Clausen's hypergeometric series with unit argument, when one numerator parameter and one denominator parameter are negative integers. Further, using our truncated summation theorems, we obtain the Mellin transforms of the product of exponential function and Goursat's truncated hypergeometric function.

Some summation theorems for Clausen's hypergeometric functions with unit argument

Motivated by the work on hypergeometric summation theorems (recorded in the table III of Prudnikov et al. pp. 541-546), we have established some new summation theorems for Clausen's hypergeometric functions with unit argument in terms of $π$ and natural logarithms of some rational and irrational numbers. Also, we have given some modified summation theorems for Clausen's hypergeometric functions.

The Clausenian hypergeometric function $_3F_2$ with unit argument and negative integral parameter differences

New explicit as well as manifestly symmetric three-term summationformulas are derived for the Clausenian hypergeometric series $_3F_2(1)$ with negative integral parameter differences. Our results generalize and naturally extend several similar relations published, in recent years, by many authors. An appropriate and useful connection is established with the quite underestimated 1974 paper by P. W. Karlsson.

Truncated Gauss hypergeometric series and its application in digamma function

In the last decades, the theory of digamma function has been developed with a high impact of interest by many authors. Here, we established some interesting results for digamma function, and also we have computed the values of digamma function for positive integers, using the concept of hypergeometric series. An attempt has been made to present some summation theorems for Clausen's hypergeometric function. Results presented here are potentially useful in the further study of digamma function.

New identities for a sum of products of the Kummer functions

Recently, Feng, Kuznetsov and Yang discovered a very general reduction formula for a sum of products of the generalized hypergeometric functions (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 443(2016), 116--122). The main goal of this note is to present a generalization of a particular case of their identity when the generalized hypergeometric function is reduced to the Kummer function 1F1. Some truncated identities of Gauss

Motivated by the works of Andrews-Merca and Guo-Zeng, we establish some truncated identities of Gauss by using some summation formulas from the works of Zhi-Guo Liu. These give three new expansions for partial sums of Gauss' triangular series.

Asymptotics of a sum of modified Bessel functions with non-linear argument

We examine the sum of modified Bessel functions with argument depending non-linearly on the summation index given by \[S_{ν,p}(a)=\sum_{n\geq 1} (an^p/2)^{-ν} K_ν(an^p)\qquad (a>0,\ 0\leqν<1)\] as the parameter $a\to 0+$, where $p$ denotes an integer satisfying $p\geq 2$. Asymptotic approximations for the first incomplete elliptic integral near logarithmic singularity

We find two convergent series expansions for Legendre's first incomplete elliptic integral $F(λ,k)$ in terms of recursively computed elementary functions. Both expansions are valid at every point of the unit square $0<λ,k<1$. Truncated expansions yield asymptotic approximations for $F(λ,k)$ as $λ$ and/or $k$ tend to unity, including the case when logarithmic singularity $λ=k=1$ is approached from any direction.
