Pykg2vec is an open-source Python library for learning the representations of the entities and relations in knowledge graphs. Pykg2vec's flexible and modular software architecture currently implements 16 state-of-the-art knowledge graph embedding algorithms, and is designed to easily incorporate new algorithms. The goal of pykg2vec is to provide a practical and educational platform to accelerate research in knowledge graph representation learning. Pykg2vec is built on top of TensorFlow and Python's multiprocessing framework and provides modules for batch generation, Bayesian hyperparameter optimization, mean rank evaluation, embedding, and result visualization. Pykg2vec is released under the MIT License and is also available in the Python Package Index (PyPI). The source code of pykg2vec is available at https://github.com/Sujit-O/pykg2vec.
Tuning hyperparameters for machine learning algorithms is a tedious task, one that is typically done manually. To enable automated hyperparameter tuning, recent works have started to use techniques based on Bayesian optimization. However, to practically enable automated tuning for large scale machine learning training pipelines, significant gaps remain in existing libraries, including lack of abstractions, fault tolerance, and flexibility to support scheduling on any distributed computing framework. To address these challenges, we present Mango, a Python library for parallel hyperparameter tun…
This paper presents Tyche, a Python library to facilitate probabilistic reasoning in uncertain worlds through the construction, querying, and learning of belief models. Tyche uses aleatoric description logic (ADL), which provides computational advantages in its evaluation over other description logics. Tyche belief models can be succinctly created by defining classes of individuals, the probabilistic beliefs about them (concepts), and the probabilistic relationships between them (roles). We also introduce a method of observation propagation to facilitate learning from complex ADL observations.…

Sampling graphs is an important task in data mining. In this paper, we describe Little Ball of Fur a Python library that includes more than twenty graph sampling algorithms. Our goal is to make node, edge, and exploration-based network sampling techniques accessible to a large number of professionals, researchers, and students in a single streamlined framework. We created this framework with a focus on a coherent application public interface which has a convenient design, generic input data requirements, and reasonable baseline settings of algorithms. Here we overview these design foundations …
We present srlearn, a Python library for boosted statistical relational models. We adapt the scikit-learn interface to this setting and provide examples for how this can be used to express learning and inference problems.
NIMFA is an open-source Python library that provides a unified interface to nonnegative matrix factorization algorithms. It includes implementations of state-of-the-art factorization methods, initialization approaches, and quality scoring. It supports both dense and sparse matrix representation. NIMFA's component-based implementation and hierarchical design should help the users to employ already implemented techniques or design and code new strategies for matrix factorization tasks.

"PyTorch, Explain!" is a Python module integrating a variety of state-of-the-art approaches to provide logic explanations from neural networks. This package focuses on bringing these methods to non-specialists. It has minimal dependencies and it is distributed under the Apache 2.0 licence allowing both academic and commercial use. Source code and documentation can be downloaded from the github repository: https://github.com/pietrobarbiero/pytorch_explain.
We introduce a Python open-source library for $\mathcal{X}$-armed bandit and online blackbox optimization named PyXAB. PyXAB contains the implementations for more than 10 $\mathcal{X}$-armed bandit algorithms, such as HOO, StoSOO, HCT, and the most recent works GPO and VHCT. PyXAB also provides the most commonly-used synthetic objectives to evaluate the performance of different algorithms and the various choices of the hierarchical partitions on the parameter space. The online documentation for PyXAB includes clear instructions for installation, straight-forward examples, detailed feature desc…
Organizations have realized the importance of data analysis and its benefits. This in combination with Machine Learning algorithms has allowed to solve problems more easily, making these processes less time-consuming. Neural networks are the Machine Learning technique that is recently obtaining very good best results. This paper describes an open-source Python library called GEMA developed to work with a type of neural network model called Self-Organizing-Maps. GEMA is freely available under GNU General Public License at GitHub (https://github.com/ufvceiec/GEMA). The library has been evaluated…
In this paper, we present a new Python library called mPyPl, which is intended to simplify complex data processing tasks using functional approach. This library defines operations on lazy data streams of named dictionaries represented as generators (so-called multi-field datastreams), and allows enriching those data streams with more 'fields' in the process of data preparation and feature extraction. Thus, most data preparation tasks can be expressed in the form of neat linear 'pipeline', similar in syntax to UNIX pipes, or |> functional composition operator in F#. We define basic operations o…

The combination of convolutional and recurrent neural networks is a promising framework that allows the extraction of high-quality spatio-temporal features together with its temporal dependencies, which is key for time series prediction problems such as forecasting, classification or anomaly detection, amongst others. In this paper, the TSFEDL library is introduced. It compiles 20 state-of-the-art methods for both time series feature extraction and prediction, employing convolutional and recurrent deep neural networks for its use in several data mining tasks. The library is built upon a set of…
Bayesian Knowledge Tracing, a model used for cognitive mastery estimation, has been a hallmark of adaptive learning research and an integral component of deployed intelligent tutoring systems (ITS). In this paper, we provide a brief history of knowledge tracing model research and introduce pyBKT, an accessible and computationally efficient library of model extensions from the literature. The library provides data generation, fitting, prediction, and cross-validation routines, as well as a simple to use data helper interface to ingest typical tutor log dataset formats. We evaluate the runtime w…
Dynamically typed languages such as Python have become very popular. Among other strengths, Python's dynamic nature and its straightforward linking to native code have made it the de-facto language for many research areas such as Artificial Intelligence. This flexibility, however, makes static analysis very hard. While creating a sound, or a soundy, analysis for Python remains an open problem, we present in this work Serenity, a framework for static analysis of Python that turns out to be sufficient for some tasks. The Serenity framework exploits two basic mechanisms: (a) reliance on dynamic d…
We present lambeq, the first high-level Python library for Quantum Natural Language Processing (QNLP). The open-source toolkit offers a detailed hierarchy of modules and classes implementing all stages of a pipeline for converting sentences to string diagrams, tensor networks, and quantum circuits ready to be used on a quantum computer. lambeq supports syntactic parsing, rewriting and simplification of string diagrams, ansatz creation and manipulation, as well as a number of compositional models for preparing quantum-friendly representations of sentences, employing various degrees of syntax se…
