MASTER OT J120451.50+265946.6 (M12045), discovered by the MASTER Global Robotic Net, is a Type Ib supernova (SN) that exploded in NGC 4080. We present the {\it BVRI} photometric and spectroscopic observations upto $\sim$250 days since $B_{max}$. At the time of discovery the SN was a few weeks past maximum light and our observations capture the linearly declining light curve phase. M12045 declines faster as compared to SNe 1999dn and 2009jf at comparable epochs. Rigorous spectroscopic monitoring reveals that M12045 is a normal Type Ib SN. The analysis of the nebular phase spectra indicates that $\sim$ 0.90 M$_\odot$ of O is ejected in the explosion. The line ratio of [\ion{O}{I}] and [\ion{Ca}{II}] in the nebular phase supports a massive WR progenitor with main sequence mass of $\sim$ 20 M$_\odot$.
Broadband $BVRI$ light curves of SN 2017eaw in NGC 6946 reveal the classic elements of a Type II-P supernova. The observations were begun on 16 May 2017 (UT), approximately 1 day after the discovery was announced, and the photometric monitoring was carried out over a period of nearly 600 days. The light curves show a well-defined plateau and an exponential tail which curves slightly at later times. An approximation to the bolometric light curve is derived and used to estimate the amount of $^{56}$Ni created in the explosion; from various approaches described in the literature, we obtain $M$($^…
We present the analysis of four hours of spectroscopic observations of NGC 6946 with the SITELLE Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer on the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, acquired to search for supernova light echoes from its ten modern supernovae. We develop a novel spectroscopic search method: identifying negatively sloped continua in the narrow-band SN3 filter as candidate highly-broadened P-Cygni profiles in the H$α$ line, which would be characteristic of the spectra of supernovae ejecta. We test our methodology by looking for light echoes from any of the ten supernovae observed in NGC…
We constrained the progenitor masses for 169 supernova remnants, 8 historically observed supernovae, and the black hole formation candidate in NGC 6946, finding that they are consistent with originating from a standard initial mass function. Additionally, there were 16 remnants that showed no sign of nearby star formation consistent with a core-collapse supernova, making them good Type Ia candidates. Using $Hubble$ $Space$ $Telescope$ broadband imaging, we measured stellar photometry of ACS/WFC fields in F435W, F555W, F606W, and F814W filters as well as WFC3/UVIS fields in F438W, F606W, and F8…
We present the discovery of a rapidly evolving transient by the Korean Microlensing Telescope Network Supernova Program (KSP). KSP is a novel high-cadence supernova survey that offers deep ($\sim21.5$ mag in $BVI$ bands) nearly continuous wide-field monitoring for the discovery of early and/or fast optical transients. KSP-OT-201509a, reported here, was discovered on 2015 September 27 during the KSP commissioning run in the direction of the nearby galaxy NGC~300, and stayed above detection limit for $\sim$ 22 days. We use our $BVI$ light-curves to constrain the ascent rate, $-3.7(7)$ mag day$^{…
We present radio observations of a Type Ib supernova (SN) Master OT J120451.50+265946.6. Our low frequency Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) data taken when the SN was in the optically thick phase for observed frequencies reveal inhomogeneities in the structure of the radio emitting region. The high frequency Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array data indicate that the shock is crossing through a dense shell between $\sim$ 47 to $\sim 87$ days. The data $\ge 100$ days onwards are reasonably well fit with the inhomogeneous synchrotron-self absorption model. Our model predicts that the inhomogene…
We present optical photometric observations of SN 2018aoq from 2 to 100 days after explosion, and 7 spectra at epochs from 11 to 71 days. The light curves and spectra are typical for SNe II-P. As previously reported, SN 2018aoq appears to be of intermediate brightness between subluminous and normal SNe II-P. SN 2018aoq was discovered in Seyfert galaxy NGC 4151, for which the distance is uncertain. We utilised the Expanding Photosphere Method using three sets of filter combinations and velocities derived from the absorption minima of FeII lines and obtained a distance of 20.0 +-1.6 Mpc. The Sta…
We report on sensitive 1.4-GHz VLBI radio observations of the unusually luminous supernova remnant SNR 4449-1 in the galaxy NGC 4449, which gave us the first well-resolved image of this object. The remnant's radio morphology consists of two approximately parallel bright ridges, suggesting similarities to the barrel shape seen for many older Galactic supernova remnants or possibly to SN 1987A. The angular extent of the remnant is 65 x 40 mas, corresponding to (3.7 x 2.3) x 10^{18} (D/3.8 Mpc) cm. We also present a new, high signal-to-noise optical spectrum. By comparing the remnant's linear siz…
SN 2017eaw, the tenth supernova observed in NGC 6946, was a normal Type II-P supernova with an estimated 11 - 13 Msun supergiant progenitor. Here we present nebular phase spectra of SN 2017eaw at +545 and +900 days post-max, extending approximately 50 - 400 days past the epochs of previously published spectra. While the +545 day spectra is similar to spectra taken between days +400 and +493, the +900 day spectrum shows dramatic changes both in spectral features and emission line profiles. The Halpha emission is flat-topped and box-like with sharp blue and red profile velocities of ~ -8000 and …
We present results from a study of the Supernova Remnant (SNR) population in a sample of six nearby galaxies (NGC 2403, NGC 3077, NGC 4214, NGC 4449, NGC 4395 and NGC 5204) based on Chandra archival data. We have detected 244 discrete X-ray sources down to a limiting flux of 10^{-15} erg/s. We identify 37 X-ray selected thermal SNRs based on their X-ray colors or spectra, 30 of which are new discoveries. In many cases the X-ray classification is confirmed based on counterparts with SNRs identified in other wavelengths. Three of the galaxies in our sample (NGC 4214, NGC 4395 and NGC 5204) are s…
We present medium-resolution spectroscopy and multicolor photometry for the optical transient PSN J09093496+3307204 (SN 2015bh) in the galaxy NGC 2770, which has transferred into the supernova phase. The observations were carried out between February 2015 to May 2016. Both at the phase of the SN impostor (2015a) and at the supernova phase (2015b), besides Balmer emissions, the strong Fe II emissions are seen in the spectrum; so, these spectra resemble those of Williams Fe II type classical novae. The star is located near the edge of a dark nebula and notably absorbed (Av = 1.14 +/-0.15 mag). T…
The Type IIn supernova (SN) 1978K in the nearby galaxy NGC 1313 has remained bright in multiwavelengths for more than $\sim 25$ yr. The archival data of SN 1978K collected with ROSAT, ASCA, XMM-Newton, and Chandra from 1990 to 2006 show no significant variation of the soft X-ray emission but a hint of flux decrease in hard X-rays. In this work, we perform a detailed analysis using more than 15 yr of XMM-Newton observations. Both the 0.5-2 keV and 2-10 keV light-curves decline as $t^{-1}$ from 2000 to 2015. The transition of light curve profiles can be explained in a way that the reverse shock …
We present photometric and spectroscopic observations of SN 2013aa and SN 2017cbv, two nearly identical type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) in the host galaxy NGC 5643. The optical photometry has been obtained using the same telescope and instruments used by the Carnegie Supernova Project. This eliminates most instrumental systematics and provides light curves in a stable and well-understood photometric system. Having the same host galaxy also eliminates systematics due to distance and peculiar velocity, providing an opportunity to directly test the relative precision of SNe Ia as standard candles. Th…
Very massive stars in the final phases of their lives often show unpredictable outbursts that can mimic supernovae, so-called, "SN impostors", but the distinction is not always straigthforward. Here we present observations of a luminous blue variable (LBV) in NGC 2770 in outburst over more than 20 years that experienced a possible terminal explosion as type IIn SN in 2015, named SN 2015bh. This possible SN or "main event" was preceded by a precursor peaking $\sim$ 40 days before maximum. The total energy release of the main event is $\sim$1.8$\times$10$^{49}$ erg, which can be modeled by a $<$…
Black holes in dwarf/bulgeless galaxies play a crucial role in studying the co-evolution of galaxies and their central black holes. Identifying massive black holes in dwarf galaxies suggests that the growth of black holes could precede that of galaxies. However, some of the most intriguing candidate active galactic nuclei (AGN) in small galaxies have such low luminosities that the sample is vulnerable to contamination by other sources, such as supernova remnants. We re-analysed Chandra X-ray Observatory observations of candidate AGN in Henize 2-10 and NGC 4178, considering the potential signal…
The relatively nearby spiral galaxy NGC~6946 is one of the most actively star forming galaxies in the local Universe. Ten supernovae (SNe) have been observed since 1917, and hence NGC6946 surely contains a large number of supernova remnants (SNRs). Here we report a new optical search for these SNRs using narrow-band images obtained with the WIYN telescope. We identify 147 emission nebulae as likely SNRs, based on elevated [SII]:Halpha ratios compared to HII regions. We have obtained spectra of 102 of these nebulae with Gemini North-GMOS; of these, 89 have [SII]:Halpha ratios greater than 0.4, …
Extensive and independent observations of Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) SN 2013dy are presented, including a larger set of $UBVRI$ photometry and optical spectra from a few days before the peak brightness to $\sim$ 200 days after explosion, and ultraviolet (UV) photometry spanning from $t \approx -10$ days to $t \approx\ +15$ days referring to the $B$ band maximum. The peak brightness (i.e., $M_{\rm B} = -19.65 \pm 0.40$ mag, $L_{\rm max} = [1.95 \pm 0.55] \times 10^{43}$ erg s$^{-1}$) and the mass of synthesised $^{56}$Ni (i.e., $M$($^{56}$Ni) = 0.90 $\pm$ 0.26 M$_{\odot}$) are calculated, and th…
The fortuitous occurrence of a type II-Plateau (IIP) supernova, SN 2014bc, in a galaxy for which distance estimates from a number of primary distance indicators are available provides a means with which to cross-calibrate the standardised candle method (SCM) for type IIP SNe. By applying calibrations from the literature we find distance estimates in line with the most precise measurement to NGC 4258 based on the Keplerian motion of masers (7.6$\pm$0.23\,Mpc), albeit with significant scatter. We provide an alternative local SCM calibration by only considering type IIP SNe that have occurred in …
We present extensive optical photometric and spectroscopic observations, from 4 to 482 days after explosion, of the Type II-plateau (II-P) supernova (SN) 2017eaw in NGC 6946. SN 2017eaw is a normal SN II-P intermediate in properties between, for example, SN 1999em and SN 2012aw and the more luminous SN 2004et, also in NGC 6946. We have determined that the extinction to SN 2017eaw is primarily due to the Galactic foreground and that the SN site metallicity is likely subsolar. We have also independently confirmed a tip-of-the-red-giant-branch (TRGB) distance to NGC 6946 of 7.73+/-0.78 Mpc. The d…
We present results from a study of optically emitting Supernova Remnants (SNRs) in six nearby galaxies (NGC 2403, NGC 3077, NGC 4214, NGC 4395, NGC 4449 and NGC 5204) based on deep narrow band Hα and [SII] images as well as spectroscopic observations. The SNR classification was based on the detected sources that fulfill the well-established emission line flux criterion of [SII]/Hα > 0.4. This study revealed ~400 photometric SNRs down to a limiting Hα flux of 10^(-15) erg sec^(-1) cm^(-2). Spectroscopic observations confirmed the shock-excited nature of 56 out of the 96 sources with ([SII]/Hα)$…
Following the reported discovery of the gravitational-wave pulse GW170817/ G298048 by three LIGO/Virgo antennae (Abbott et al., 2017a), the MASTER Global Robotic Net telescopes obtained the first image of the NGC 4993 galaxy after the NS+NS merging. The optical transient MASTER OTJ130948.10-232253.3/SSS17a was later found, which appears to be a kilonova resulting from a merger of two neutron stars. In this paper we report the independent detection and photometry of the kilonova made in white light and in B, V, and R filters. We note that luminosity of the discovered kilonova NGC 4993 is very c…
We present an analysis of ultraviolet (UV) to near-infrared observations of the fast-declining Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) 2007on and 2011iv, hosted by the Fornax cluster member NGC 1404. The B-band light curves of SN 2007on and SN 2011iv are characterised by dm_15(B) decline-rate values of 1.96 mag and 1.77 mag, respectively. Although they have similar decline rates, their peak B- and H-band magnitudes differ by ~0.60 mag and ~0.35 mag, respectively. After correcting for the luminosity vs. decline rate and the luminosity vs. colour relations, the peak B-band and H-band light curves provide di…
We present the detailed optical evolution of a type Ib SN 2015dj in NGC 7371, using data spanning up to $\sim$ 170 days after discovery. SN 2015dj shares similarity in light curve shape with SN 2007gr and peaks at M$_{V}$ = $-17.37\pm$0.02 mag. Analytical modelling of the quasi bolometric light curve yields 0.06$\pm$0.01 M$_{\odot}$ of $^{56}$Ni, ejecta mass $M_{\rm ej} = 1.4^{+1.3}_{-0.5}$ \msol\, and kinetic energy $E_{\rm k} = 0.7^{+0.6}_{-0.3} \times 10^{51}$ erg. The spectral features show a fast evolution and resemble those of spherically symmetric ejecta. The analysis of nebular phase s…
Galaxies which hosted many core-collapse supernovae (SN) explosions can be used to study the conditions necessary for the formation of massive stars. NGC 2770 was dubbed a SN factory, because it hosted four core-collapse SNe in 20 years (three type Ib and one type IIn). Its star formation rate (SFR) was reported not to be enhanced and therefore not compatible with such a high SN rate. We aim at explaining the high SN rate of NGC 2770. We used archival HI line data for NGC 2770 and reinterpret the Halpha and optical continuum data. Even though the continuum-based SFR indicators do not yield hig…
At redshift z=0.03, the recently-discovered SN 2017egm is the nearest Type I superluminous supernova (SLSN) to date, and first near the center of a massive spiral galaxy (NGC 3191). Using SDSS spectra of NGC 3191, we find a metallicity ~2 Z$_\odot$ at the nucleus and ~1.3 Z$_\odot$ for a star forming region at a radial offset similar to SN 2017egm. Archival radio-to-UV photometry reveals a star-formation rate ~15 M$_\odot$ yr$^{-1}$ (with ~70% dust-obscured), which can account for a Swift X-ray detection, and stellar mass ~$10^{10.7}$ M$_\odot$. We model the early UV-optical light curves with …
Supernova 2012A was discovered on 7.39UT, January, 2012 in the nearby galaxy NGC 3239 at an unfiltered magnitude of 14.6 and classified spectroscopically as a Type IIP event. Here, we present the optical photometric and spectroscopic follow-up of the event during 14d to 130d post explosion.
SN 1954J in NGC 2403 and SN 1961V in NGC 1058 were two luminous transients whose definitive classification as either non-terminal eruptions or supernovae remains elusive. A critical question is whether a surviving star can be significantly obscured by dust formed from material ejected during the transient. We use three lines of argument to show that the candidate surviving stars are not significantly optically extincted ($τ\lesssim 1$) by dust formed in the transients. First, we use SED fits to new HST optical and near-IR photometry. Second, neither source is becoming brighter as required by a…
The presence of large ionised gaseous nebulae found around some ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) provides the means to assess the mechanical and radiative feedback of the central source, and hence constrain the efficiency and impact on the surroundings of the super-Eddington regime powering most of these sources. NGC 1313 X--1 is an archetypal ULX which has been reported to be surrounded by abnormally high [O I]$λ$6300/H$α>$ 0.1 ratios and for which high-resolution spectroscopy in X-rays has hinted the presence of powerful outflows. We report observations taken with the Multi-Unit Spectrosco…
We present a multiwavelength examination of the supernova remnant (SNR) S26 in the nearby galaxy NGC 300 using data from Chandra X-ray Observatory, XMM-Newton X-ray Observatory, Hubble Space Telescope (HST), the Very Large Array, and the Australia Telescope Compact Array. We simultaneously fit all of the available X-ray data with a thermal plasma model and find a temperature of $0.77 \pm 0.13$ keV with a hydrogen column density of ($9.7^{+6.4}_{-4.8}$)$\times 10^{20}$ cm$^{-2}$. HST imaging allows us to measure a semimajor axis of $0.78 \pm 0.10$ arcsec ($7.5 \pm 1.0$ pc) and a semiminor axis …
We present results of optical polarization observations performed with the MASTER robotic net for three types of objects: gamma-ray bursts, supernovae, and blazars. For the Swift gamma-ray bursts GRB100906A, GRB110422A, GRB121011A, polarization observations were obtained during very early stages of optical emission. For GRB100906A it was the first prompt optical polarization observation in the world. Photometry in polarizers is presented for Type Ia Supernova 2012bh during 20 days, starting on March 27, 2012. We find that the linear polarization of SN 2012bh at the early stage of the envelope …
We presented a detailed analysis of progenitor properties of type IIP supernova 2017eaw in NGC 6946, based on the pre-explosion images and early-time observations obtained immediately after the explosion. An unusually red star, with M$_{F814W}$ = $-$6.9 mag and m$_{F606W}$$-$ m$_{F814W}=$2.9$\pm$0.2 mag, can be identified at the SN position in the pre-discovery Hubble Space Telescope(HST) images taken in 2016. The observed spectral energy distribution of this star, covering the wavelength of 0.6-2.0$\ \mathrm{μm}$, matches that of an M4-type red supergiant (RSG) with a temperature of about 355…
On 2014 Dec. 9.61, the All-Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN or "Assassin") discovered ASASSN-14lp just $\sim2$ days after first light using a global array of 14-cm diameter telescopes. ASASSN-14lp went on to become a bright supernova ($V = 11.94$ mag), second only to SN 2014J for the year. We present prediscovery photometry (with a detection less than a day after first light) and ultraviolet through near-infrared photometric and spectroscopic data covering the rise and fall of ASASSN-14lp for more than 100 days. We find that ASASSN-14lp had a broad light curve ($Δm_{15}(B) = 0.80 \…
We report the results of our investigation on the possible existence of supernova remnants (SNRs) in the nearby galaxy, NGC 1569, using the CCD imaging and spectroscopic observations from the RTT150 telescope of TUG-TUBITAK in Antalya, Turkey for two different observing periods. Using [S\,{\sc ii}]/H$α$ $\geq$ 0.4 standard criteria, the identification of 13 new SNR candidates for this galaxy is proposed for two different epochs. We found the [S\,{\sc ii}]/H$α$ ratios ranging from 0.46--0.84 and H$α$ intensities ranging from (2.2--32) $\times$ 10$^{-15}$ erg cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. [S\,{\sc ii}]$λλ…
We present extensive optical observations of the normal Type Ic supernova (SN) 2007gr, spanning from about one week before maximum light to more than one year thereafter. The optical light and color curves of SN 2007gr are very similar to those of the broad-lined Type Ic SN 2002ap, but the spectra show remarkable differences. The optical spectra of SN 2007gr are characterized by unusually narrow lines, prominent carbon lines, and slow evolution of the line velocity after maximum light. The earliest spectrum (taken at t=-8 days) shows a possible signature of helium (He~I 5876 at a velocity of ~…
We present multi-wavelength time-series spectroscopy of SN 2013aa and SN 2017cbv, two Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) on the outskirts of the same host galaxy, NGC 5643. This work utilizes new nebular-phase near-infrared (NIR) spectra obtained by the Carnegie Supernova Project-II, in addition to previously published optical and NIR spectra. By measuring nebular-phase [Fe II] lines in both the optical and NIR, we examine the explosion kinematics and test the efficacy of several emission line fitting techniques commonly used in the literature. The NIR [Fe II] 1.644 $μ$m line provides the most robust…
We present densely-sampled ultraviolet/optical photometric and low-resolution optical spectroscopic observations of the type IIP supernova 2013ab in the nearby ($\sim$24 Mpc) galaxy NGC 5669, from 2 to 190d after explosion. Continuous photometric observations, with the cadence of typically a day to one week, were acquired with the 1-2m class telescopes in the LCOGT network, ARIES telescopes in India and various other telescopes around the globe. The light curve and spectra suggest that the SN is a normal type IIP event with a plateau duration of $ \sim80 $ days with mid plateau absolute visual…
We present new observations of the "supernova impostor" SN 2010da using the Chandra X-ray Observatory and the Hubble Space Telescope. During the initial 2010 outburst, the 0.3-10 keV luminosity was observed by Swift to be $\sim5\times10^{38}$ erg s$^{-1}$ and faded by a factor of $\sim$25 in a four month period. Our two new Chandra observations show a factor of $\sim$10 increase in the 0.35-8 keV X-ray flux, from $\sim$4$\times10^{36}$ erg s$^{-1}$ to $4\times10^{37}$ erg s$^{-1}$ in $\sim$6 months, and the X-ray spectrum is consistent in both observations with a power law photon index of $Γ\s…
MASTER OT J033744.97+723159.0/SN 2017gpn was discovered in the error-box of LIGO/Virgo G299232 gravitational wave alert. The spectrum of SN 2017gpn is consistent with a Type IIb supernova. In this work we present the photometry of 20 epochs of observations performed with CCD-photometer on the Zeiss-1000 telescope. The light curves in B and Rc filters were obtained. The multicolour light curves were also modelled numerically using the one-dimensional radiation hydro-dynamical code STELLA.

SN 2024abfl是来自低质量红超巨星前身的低光度IIP型超新星,其特征包括低平台光度、长平台持续时间及较低的抛射物速度。
We present the discovery by the SPitzer InfraRed Intensive Transients Survey (SPIRITS) of a likely supernova (SN) in NGC 3556 at only 8.8 Mpc, which, despite its proximity, was not detected by optical searches. A luminous infrared (IR) transient at $M_{[4.5]} = -16.7$ mag (Vega), SPIRITS 16tn is coincident with a dust lane in the inclined, star-forming disk of the host. Using IR, optical, and radio observations, we attempt to determine the nature of this event. We estimate $A_V \approx$ 8 - 9 mag of extinction, placing it among the three most highly obscured IR-discovered SNe to date. The [4.5…
The type Ib supernova 2010O was recently discovered in the interacting starburst galaxy Arp 299. We present an analysis of two archival Chandra X-ray observations of Arp 299, taken before the explosion and show that there is a transient X-ray source at a position consistent with the supernova. Due to the diffuse emission, the background is difficult to estimate. We estimate the flux of the transient from the difference of the two X-ray images and conclude that the transient can be described by a 0.225 keV black body with a luminosity of 2.5+/-0.7 10^{39} erg/s for a distance of 41 Mpc. These p…
