Universal skein theory for group actions

Given a group action on a finite set, we define the group-action model which consists of tensor network diagrams which are invariant under the group symmetry. In particular, group-action models can be realized as the even part of group-subgroup subfactor planar algebras. Moreover, all group-subgroup subfactor planar algebras arise in this way from transitive actions. In this paper, we provide a universal skein theory for those planar algebras. With the help of this skein theory, we give a positive answer to a question asked by Vaughan Jones in the late nineties.

Universal C*-algebras of endomorphisms of groups and partial actions

We present a different way to study the C*-algebra associated with an injective endomorphism of a group G of infinite cokernel. We follow the work of Boava and Exel to construct a partial crossed product representation of that C*-algebra and show properties only using such tools.

Universal and exotic generalized fixed-point algebras for weakly proper actions and duality

Given a C*-dynamical system (A,G,α), we say that A is a weakly proper (X\rtimes G)-algebra if there exists a proper G-space X together with a nondegenerate G-equivariant *-homomorphism ϕ:C_0(X)->M(A). Weakly proper G-algebras form a large subclass of the class of proper G-algebras in the sense of Rieffel. Fell bundles and imprimitivity theorems: towards a universal generalized fixed point algebra

We apply the One-Sided Action Theorem from the first paper in this series to prove that Rieffel's Morita equivalence between the reduced crossed product by a proper saturated action and the generalized fixed-point algebra is a quotient of a Morita equivalence between the full crossed product and a "universal" fixed-point algebra. We give several applications, to Fell bundles over groups, reduced crossed products as fixed-point algebras, and C*-bundles.

Imprimitivity theorems for weakly proper actions of locally compact groups

In a recent paper the authors introduced universal and exotic generalized fixed-point algebras for weakly proper group actions on C*-algebras. Here we extend the notion of weakly proper actions to actions on Hilbert modules. As a result we obtain several imprimitivity theorems establishing important Morita equivalences between universal, reduced, or exotic crossed products and appropriate universal, reduced, or exotic fixed-point algebras, respectively. Universal properties of group actions on locally compact spaces

We study universal properties of locally compact G-spaces for countable infinite groups G. In particular we consider open invariant subsets of the β-compactification of G (which is a G-space in a natural way), and their minimal closed invariant subspaces. These are locally compact free G-spaces, and the latter are also minimal. We examine the properies of these G-spaces with emphasis on their universal properties. As an example of our resuts, we use combinatorial methods to show that each countable infinite group admits a free minimal action on the locally compact non-compact Cantor set.
