We investigate a systematic error coming from higher excited state contributions in the energy shift of light nucleus in the two-nucleon channel by comparing two different source calculations with the exponential and wall sources. Since it is hard to obtain a clear signal of the wall source correlation function in a plateau region, we employ a large quark mass as the pion mass is 0.8 GeV in quenched QCD. We discuss the systematic error in the spin-triplet channel of the two-nucleon system, and the volume dependence of the energy shift.
We determine generalized form factors of the nucleon from lattice simulations with $N_f = 2$ mass-degenerate non-perturbatively improved Wilson-Sheikholeslami-Wohlert fermions down to a pion mass of 150 MeV. We also present the resulting isovector quark angular momentum. Possible excited-state contaminations are investigated with correlated simultaneous fits.
We compute the disconnected quark loops contributions entering the determination of nucleon observables, by using a $N_f = 2$ ensemble of twisted mass fermions with a clover term at a pion mass $m_π= 133$ MeV. We employ exact deflation and implement all calculations in GPUs, enabling us to achieve large statistics and a good signal.
We present a calculation of the Mellin moments of the transverse quark spin densities in the nucleon using lattice QCD. The densities are extracted from the unpolarized and transversity generalized form factors extrapolated to the continuum limit using three $N_f=2+1+1$ twisted mass fermion gauge ensembles simulated with physical quark masses and spanning three lattice spacings. The first moment of transversely polarized quarks in an unpolarized nucleon shows an interesting distortion, which can be traced back to the sharp falloff of the transversity generalized form factor $\bar{B}_{Tn0}(t)$.…
In this letter, we report the results for the isovector polarized quark quasi-distribution functions $Δu(x,v) - Δd(x,v)$ in the large $N_c$, calculated within the chiral quark-soliton model. It is shown that the polarized quark quasi-distributions present good convergence to the light-cone PDFs in the limit of the nucleon boost momentum $P_N \to \infty$ (or the velocity $v \to 1$), compared to the case of the unpolarized isosinglet distributions.
We report on our calculation of the nucleon axial and tensor charges in 2+1-flavor QCD with dynamical overlap quarks. Gauge ensembles are generated at a single lattice spacing 0.12 fm and at a strange quark mass close to its physical value. We employ the all-mode-averaging technique to calculate the relevant nucleon correlation functions, and the disconnected quark loop is efficiently calculated by using the all-to-all quark propagator. We present our preliminary results for the isoscalar and isovector charges obtained at pion masses $m_π$ = 450 and 540 MeV.
Using the instanton picture of the QCD vacuum we compute the nucleon $\bar c^Q(t)$ form factor of the quark part of the energy momentum tensor (EMT). This form factor describes the non-conservation of the quark part of EMT and contributes to the quark pressure distribution inside the nucleon. Also it can be interpreted in terms of forces between quark and gluon subsystems inside the nucleon. We show that this form factor is parametrically small in the instanton packing fraction. Numerically we obtain for the nucleon EMT a small value of $\bar c^Q(0)\simeq 1.4\cdot 10^{-2}$ at the low normalisa…
