X-ray binaries (XRBs) often exhibit a high energy power-law tail (HEP-tail) and these tails can be generated by the bulk Comptonization (BMC) process with a free-fall bulk region onto the compact object. The radio emission (which is generated by a synchrotron-emitting outflowing electrons) is observed in all spectral state of XRBs. Interestingly, the variations of HEP-tail flux among different spectral states is similar to the variation of radio flux. We motivate to study the HEP-tail in BMC process with an outflowing medium. For this we consider a collimated and conical (of opening angle $θ_b$ with axis perpendicular to the accretion disk) outflow geometry. We simulate the BMC spectrum by using a Monte Carlo scheme. We find that the emergent spectrum has power-law tail (of photon index $Γ$ $>$ 2 and with high energy cut-off $E_{c}$ $>$ 200 keV) only for $θ_b$ greater than $\sim$30 degrees in conical outflow, while for a collimated or a conical outflow ($θ_b$ $<$ 30 degrees) these HEP-tail can be only generated when it is also found in thermal Comptonized spectra (i.e., at sufficiently high Comptonizing medium temperature). These results are approximately consistent with analytically derived expressions. We describe the observed GRS 1915+105 spectrum for two classes $χ$ and $γ$ in conical outflow, for this the outflow speed is highly relativistic and the kinetic power of wind suggest that the HEP-tail can be generated at inner region of the accretion disk, like inner disk radio emission.
We study the high energy power-law tail emission of X-ray binaries (XRBs) by a bulk Comptonization process which usually observe in the very high soft VHS state of blackhole BH XRBs and the high soft HS state of neutron star (NS) and BH XRBs. Earlier, to generate the power-law tail in bulk Comptonization framework, a free-fall converging flow into BH or NS has been considered as a bulk region. In this work, for a bulk region we consider mainly an outflow geometry from the accretion disk which is bounded by a torus surrounding the compact object. We have a two choice for an outflow geometry i) …
We develop a new theoretical model describing the formation of the radiation spectrum in accretion-powered X-ray pulsars as a result of bulk and thermal Comptonization of photons in the accretion column. The new model extends the previous model developed by the authors in four ways: (1) we utilize a conical rather than cylindrical geometry; (2) the radiation components emitted from the column wall and the column top are computed separately; (3) the model allows for a non-zero impact velocity at the stellar surface; and (4) the velocity profile of the gas merges with Newtonian free-fall far fro…
Two Component Advective Flow (TCAF) successfully explains the spectral and tem- poral properties of outbursting or persistent sources. Images of static TCAF with Compton cloud or CENtrifugal pressure supported Boundary Layer (CENBOL) due to gravitational bending of photons have been studied before. In this paper, we study time dependent images of advective flows around a Schwarzschild black hole which include cooling effects due to Comptonization of soft photons from a Keplerian disks well as the self-consistently produced jets and outflows. We show the overall image of the disk-jet system aft…
Relativistic reflection observed in the hard states of accreting black holes often shows a weak amplitude relative to the main Comptonization component, which may result from either a disc truncation or a non-isotropy of the X-ray source, e.g. due to a motion away from the reflector. We investigate here the latter case, assuming that the X-ray source is located on the symmetry axis of the Kerr black hole. We discuss effects relevant to a proper computation of the reflected radiation and we implement them in the model for data analysis, reflkerrV. We apply it to the simultaneous Suzaku and NuST…

We present optically thin solutions for magnetized, advective disc-outflow symbiosis around black holes (BHs). The main objective is to explain the bright, hard state observations of accreting systems with stellar-mass to supermassive BHs. We include the effects of magnetic fields and radiation counterpart in entropy gradient based on the first law of thermodynamics to represent energy advection. The cooling process includes bremsstrahlung, synchrotron radiation, and inverse Comptonization process. One of our main ventures is to explain some long-standing issues of ultra-luminous X-ray sources…
Supersonic interacting flows occurring in phenomena such as protostellar jets give rise to strong shocks, and have been demonstrated in several laboratory experiments. To study such colliding flows, we use the AstroBEAR AMR code to conduct hydrodynamic simulations in three dimensions. We introduce variations in the flow parameters of density, velocity, and cross sectional radius of the colliding flows %radius in order to study the propagation and conical shape of the bow shock formed by collisions between two, not necessarily symmetric, hypersonic flows. We find that the motion of the interact…
In the current paradigm, it is believed that the compact VLBI radio core of radio-loud active galactic nuclei (AGNi) represents the innermost upstream regions of relativistic outflows. These regions of AGN jets have generally been modeled by a conical outflow with a roughly constant opening angle and flow speed. Nonetheless, some works suggest that a parabolic geometry would be more appropriate to fit the high energy spectral distribution properties and it has been recently found that, at least in some nearby radio galaxies, the geometry of the innermost regions of the jet is parabolic. We com…

We have developed an improved model of X-ray emission from optically thin, two-temperature accretion flows, \texttt{kerrflow}, using an exact Monte Carlo treatment of global Comptonization as well as with a fully general relativistic description of both the radiative and hydrodynamic processes. It also includes pion-decay electrons, whose synchrotron emission dominates the seed photons yield at high accretion rates in flows around supermassive black holes. We consider in detail the dependence of the model spectra on the black hole spin, the electron heating efficiency, the plasma magnetization…
Modeling of gamma-ray burst (GRB) prompt emission spectra sometimes requires a (quasi-) thermal spectral component in addition to the Band function. In photospheric emission models, a prominent thermal component broadened by sub-photospheric dissipation is expected to be released at the photospheric radius, $r_{\rm ph}\sim10^{12}\,$cm. We consider an ultra-relativistic strongly magnetized outflow with a striped-wind magnetic-field structure undergoing gradual and continuous magnetic energy dissipation at $r<r_s$ that heats and accelerates the flow, leading to a bulk Lorentz factor $Γ(r)=Γ_\inf…
We study the spectra of photospheric emission from highly relativistic gamma-ray burst outflows using a Monte Carlo (MC) code. We consider the Comptonization of photons with a fast cooled synchrotron spectrum in a relativistic jet with photon to electron number ratio $N_γ/N_e = 10^5$. For all our simulations, we use mono-energetic protons which interact with thermalised electrons through the Coulomb interaction. The photons, electrons and protons are cooled adiabatically as the jet expands outwards. We find that the initial energy distribution of the protons and electrons do not have any appre…

We report the results from the broad-band X-ray monitoring of the new Galactic black hole candidate MAXI J1803$-$298 with the MAXI/GSC and Swift/BAT during its outburst. After the discovery on 2021 May 1, the soft X-ray flux below 10 keV rapidly increased for $\sim 10$ days and then have been gradually decreasing over 5 months. At the brightest phase, the source exhibited the state transition from the low/hard state to the high/soft state via the intermediate state. The broad-band X-ray spectrum during the outburst was well described with a disk blackbody plus its thermal or non-thermal Compto…
