We report on the lattice calculations of the heavy quark potential at $T>0$ in 2+1 flavor QCD at physical quark masses using the Highly Improved Staggered Quark discretization. We study in detail the systematic effects in the determination of the real and imaginary parts of the potential when using the moment method.

We study charmonia correlators at finite temperature. We analyze to what extent heavy quarkonia correlators are sensitive to the effect of heavy quark transport and whether it is possible to constrain the heavy quark diffusion constant by lattice calculations. Preliminary lattice calculations of quarkonia correlators performed on anisotropic lattices show that they are sensitive to the effect of heavy quark transport, but much detailed calculations are required to constrain the value of the heavy quark diffusion constant.

We determine masses and decay constants of heavy-heavy and heavy-charm pseudoscalar mesons as a function of heavy quark mass using a fully relativistic formalism known as Highly Improved Staggered Quarks for the heavy quark. We are able to cover the region from the charm quark mass to the bottom quark mass using MILC ensembles with lattice spacing values from 0.15 fm down to 0.044 fm. We obtain f_{B_c} = 0.427(6) GeV; m_{B_c} = 6.285(10) GeV and f_{η_b} = 0.667(6) GeV. Our value for f_{η_b} is within a few percent of f_Υ confirming that spin effects are surprisingly small for heavyonium decay …
We discuss recent lattice results on in-medium properties of hadrons and focus on thermal properties of heavy quark bound states. We will clarify the relation between heavy quark free energies and potentials used to analyze the melting of heavy quark bound states. Furthermore, we present calculations of meson spectral functions which indicate that the charmonium ground states, J/psi and eta_c, persist in the quark gluon plasma as well defined resonances with no significant change of their zero temperature masses at least up to T ~ 1.5 T_c. We propose a model for the propagation of a heavy-quark in a hot plasma, to be viewed as a first step towards a full description of the dynamics of heavy quark systems in a quark-gluon plasma, including bound state formation. The heavy quark is treated as a non relativistic particle interacting with a fluctuating field, whose correlator is determined by a hard thermal loop approximation. We investigate the instanton effects on the heavy-quark potential,including its spin-dependent part, based on the instanton liquid model. Starting with the central potential derived from the instanton vacuum, we obtain the spin-dependent part of the heavy-quark potential. We discuss the results of the heavy-quark potential from the instanton vacuum. We finally solve the nonrelativistic two-body problem, associating with the heavy-quark potential from the instanton vacuum. The instanton effects on the quarkonia spectra are marginal but are required for quantitative description of the spectra.
We present further results for one-loop matching of heavy-light axial and vector currents between continuum QCD and a lattice theory with NRQCD heavy quarks and massless clover quarks.
We calculate the one loop renormalisation parameters for the heavy-light axial-vector and vector currents using lattice perturbation theory. We use NonRelativistic QCD (NRQCD) heavy quarks and the Highly Improved Staggered Quark (HISQ) action for the light quarks. We present results for heavy-light currents with massless HISQ quarks and briefly discuss the extension to heavy-heavy currents with massive HISQ quarks.

We report on heavy quark mass calculations using Fermilab heavy quarks. Lattice calculations of heavy-strange meson masses are combined with one-loop (automated) lattice perturbation theory to arrive at the quark mass. Mesons are constructed from Fermilab heavy quarks and staggered light quarks. We use the MILC ensembles at three lattice spacings and sea quark mass ratios of $m_{\rm u,d} / m_{\rm s} = 0.1$ to 0.4. Preliminary results for the bottom quark are given in the potential subtracted scheme.
At tree level, I discuss modifying the FNAL heavy quark formalism to include a twisted mass term. I find that at maximal twist the so called KLM factor is independent of the heavy mass.

One-loop matching of heavy-light currents is carried out for a highly improved lattice action, including the effects of mixings with dimension 4 O(1/M) and O(a) operators. We use the NRQCD action for heavy quarks, the Asqtad improved naive action for light quarks, and the Symanzik improved glue action. These results are being used in recent heavy meson decay constant and semileptonic form factor calculations on the MILC dynamical configurations.
We perform the first study for the heavy-heavy-light quark (QQq) potential in SU(3) lattice QCD. We present the one-loop results of the mass dependent $O(a)$ improvement coefficients for the heavy-light vector and axial-vector currents consisting of the relativistic heavy and the domain-wall light quarks. The calculations are performed with the plaquette, Iwasaki and DBW2 gauge actions. The heavy quark mass and domain-wall height dependence is investigated. We investigate the $O(a)$ improved quark action on anisotropic lattice as a potential framework for the heavy quark, which may enable precision computation of hadronic matrix elements of heavy-light mesons.
