Propagation of stretched exponential moments for the Kac equation and Boltzmann equation with Maxwell molecules

We study the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation for Maxwell molecules, and its $1$-dimensional model, the Kac equation. We prove propagation in time of stretched exponential moments of their weak solutions, both for the angular cutoff and the angular non-cutoff case. The order of the stretched exponential moments in question depends on the singularity rate of the angular kernel of the Boltzmann and the Kac equation. One of the main tools we use are Mittag-Leffler moments, which generalize the exponential ones.

Gelfand-Shilov and Gevrey smoothing effect for the spatially inhomogeneous non-cutoff Kac equation

We consider the spatially inhomogeneous non-cutoff Kac's model of the Boltzmann equation. We prove that the Cauchy problem for the fluctuation around the Maxwellian distribution enjoys Gelfand-Shilov regularizing properties with respect to the velocity variable and Gevrey regularizing properties with respect to the position variable.

Gevrey smoothing for weak solutions of the fully nonlinear homogeneous Boltzmann and Kac equations without cutoff for Maxwellian molecules

Tanaka Theorem for Inelastic Maxwell Models

We show that the Euclidean Wasserstein distance is contractive for inelastic homogeneous Boltzmann kinetic equations in the Maxwellian approximation and its associated Kac-like caricature. This property is as a generalization of the Tanaka theorem to inelastic interactions. Consequences are drawn on the asymptotic behavior of solutions in terms only of the Euclidean Wasserstein distance.

The grazing collision limit of Kac caricature of Bose-Einstein particles

We discuss the grazing collision limit of certain kinetic models of Bose-Einstein particles obtained from a suitable modification of the one- dimensional Kac caricature of a Maxwellian gas without cut-off. We recover in the limit a nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation which presents many similarities with the one introduced by Kaniadakis and Quarati in [13 ]. In order to do so, we perform a study of the moments of the solution. Moreover, as is typical in Maxwell models, we make an essential use of the Fourier version of the equation.

Estimates for the large time behavior of the Landau equation in the Coulomb case

This work deals with the large time behaviour of the spatially homogeneous Landau equation with Coulomb potential. Firstly, we obtain a bound from below of the entropy dissipation $D(f)$ by a weighted relative Fisher information of $f$ with respect to the associated Maxwellian distribution, which leads to a variant of Cercignani's conjecture thanks to a logarithmic Sobolev inequality. Spectral and phase space analysis of the linearized non-cutoff Kac collision operator

The non-cutoff Kac operator is a kinetic model for the non-cutoff radially symmetric Boltzmann operator. Asymptotic Stability of the Boltzmann Equation with Maxwell Boundary Conditions

In a general $C^1$ domain, we study the perturbative Cauchy theory for the Boltzmann equation with Maxwell boundary conditions with an accommodation coefficient $α$ in $(\sqrt{2/3},1]$, and discuss this threshold. We consider polynomial or stretched exponential weights $m(v)$ and prove existence, uniqueness and exponential trend to equilibrium around a global Maxwellian in $L^\infty_{x,v}(m)$. Derivation of a Boltzmann equation with higher-order collisions from a generalized Kac model

In this work, we generalize M. Kac's original many-particle binary stochastic model to derive a space homogeneous Boltzmann equation that includes a linear combination of higher-order collisional terms. In this Note we present the main results from the recent work arxiv:1107.3251, which answers several conjectures raised fifty years ago by Kac. Quantitative and qualitative Kac's chaos on the Boltzmann's sphere

We investigate the construction of chaotic probability measures on the Boltzmann's sphere, which is the state space of the stochastic process of a many-particle system undergoing a dynamics preserving energy and momentum. This paper is devoted to the study of propagation of chaos and mean-field limits for systems of indistinguable particles, undergoing collision processes.
