In this paper, the quasinormal modes of gravitational perturbation around some well-known regular black holes were evaluated by using the WKB approximation as well as the asymptotic iteration method. Through numerical calculation, we make a detailed analysis of the gravitational QNM frequencies by varying the characteristic parameters of the gravitational perturbation and the spacetime charge parameters of the regular black holes. It is found that the imaginary part of quasinormal modes as a function of the charge parameter has different monotonic behaviors for different black hole spacetimes. Moreover, the asymptotic expressions of gravitational QNMs for $l \gg 1$ are obtained by using the eikonal limit method. We demonstrate that the gravitational perturbation is stable in all these spacetimes.
The quasinormal modes of the electromagnetic and gravitational perturbation on Schwarzschild-AdS black hole calculated by Cardoso and Lemos has been revisited. Although the equations of motion are correct some frequencies calculated previously by the authors are not. We present the new values of quasinormal modes and discuss the possible sources of problems and implications on the conclusions presented.
Quasinormal mode spectra for gravitational perturbations of black holes in four dimensional de Sitter and anti-de Sitter space are investigated. The anti-de Sitter case is relevant to the ADS-CFT correspondence in superstring theory. The ADS-CFT correspondence suggests a prefered set of boundary conditions.
We investigate the quasinormal modes for gravitational perturbations of rotating black holes in four dimensional Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The study of the quasinormal frequencies related to these modes is relevant to the AdS/CFT correspondence. Although results have been obtained for Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom AdS black holes, quasinormal frequencies of Kerr-AdS black holes are computed for the first time. We solve the Teukolsky equations in AdS spacetime, providing a second order and a Pade approximation for the angular eigenvalues associated to the Teukolsky angular equation…
In this paper we investigate gravitational perturbations of a regular black hole, particularly Bardeen solution. Such system is solution of Einstein equations that do not have a singularity at the origin of the radial symmetry. However it still have events horizons depending on the values of the characteristic parameters of the solution. When a black hole is perturbed, it oscillates. It gives rise to damped vibrating modes which are known as quasinormal modes. It is calculated the quasinormal frequencies of a regular black hole using the third order WKB approximation for gravitational perturba…
We have studied the quasinormal modes and the late-time tail behaviors of scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations in the Schwarzschild black hole pierced by a cosmic string. Although the metric is locally identical to that of the Schwarzschild black hole so that the presence of the string will not imprint in the motion of test particles, we found that quasinormal modes and the late-time tails can reflect physical signatures of the cosmic string. Compared with the scalar and electromagnetic fields, the gravitational perturbation decays slower, which could be more interesting to …
Gravitational perturbations in the geometry of asymptotically flat black hole solution in the deformed Hořava-Lifshitz(HL) gravity are considered and the associated quasinormal mode(QNM) frequencies are evaluated using WKB method. Black holes are found to be stable against small perturbations. We also find a significant deviation in the behavior of QNMs in HL theory for low values of HL parameter $ω$, from that in the standard General Relativity(GR). QNMs are long lived in Hořava theory compared with the usual Schwarzschild black hole case.
In the previous paper (Li, X. Z., Xi, P., Zhai, X. H.: Phys. Lett. B{\bf666}, 125-130 (2008)), we show the solutions of Einstein equations with static spherically-symmetric quintessence-like matter surrounding a global monopole. Furthermore, this monopole become a black hole with quintessence-like matter and a deficit solid angle when it is swallowed by an ordinary black hole. We study its quasinormal modes by WKB method in this paper. The numerical results show that both the real part of the quasinormal frequencies and the imaginary part decrease as the state parameter $w$, for scalar and gra…
In this work, the Ellis drainhole solution is derived in Einstein-Æther gravity, and subsequently, the axial quasinormal modes of the resulting drainhole are investigated. Owing to the presence of a minimally coupled scalar field with antiorthodox coupling polarity, the resultant metric solution is featured by a throat instead of a horizon, for which static æther solution becomes feasible. Moreover, the derived master equations for the axial gravitational perturbations consist of two coupled vector degrees of freedom. By utilizing the finite difference method, the temporal profiles of the quas…
Gravitational decoupling can add hair to the black holes by adding extra sources. The quasinormal modes of hairy black hole caused by gravitational decoupling for the massless scalar field, electromagnetic field, and gravitational perturbation are investigated. The equations of effective potential for three perturbations are derived in hairy black hole spacetime. We also study the time evolution corresponding to the three perturbations, and the quasinormal mode frequencies are calculated using the Prony method through the time-domain profiles. By analyzing the influence of the hairs ($α$, $l_0…
Ringdown gravitational waves of compact object binaries observed by ground-based gravitational-wave detectors encapsulate rich information to understand remnant objects after the merger and to test general relativity in the strong field. In this work, we investigate the ringdown gravitational waves in detail to better understand their property, assuming that the remnant objects are black holes. For this purpose, we perform numerical simulations of post-merger phase of binary black holes by using the black hole perturbation scheme with the initial data given under the close-limit approximation,…
We calculate the gravitational energy spectrum of the perturbations of a Schwarzschild black hole described by quasinormal modes, in the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR). We obtain a general formula for the gravitational energy enclosed by a large surface of constant radius $r$, in the region $m\,<<\,r\,<<\infty$, where $m$ is the mass of the black hole. Considering the usual asymptotic expression for the perturbed metric components, we arrive at finite values for the energy spectrum. The perturbed energy depends on the two integers $n$ and $l$ that describ…
We examine in a semiclassical framework the deflection function of strong gravitational lensing, for static and spherically symmetric black holes, endowed with a photon sphere. From a first-order WKB analysis near the maximum of the Regge-Wheeler potential, we extract the real phase shifts from the S-matrix elements and then we derive the associated semiclassical deflection function, characterized by a logarithmic divergent behavior. More precisely, using the complex angular momentum techniques, we show that the Regge poles and the associated greybody factor residues, for a massless scalar fie…

In this paper, the quasinormal modes of gravitational perturbation around a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence were evaluated by using the third-order WKB approximation. Due to the presence of quintessence, the gravitational wave damps more slowly.
We use the monodromy method to investigate the asymptotic quasinormal modes of regular black holes based on the explicit Stokes portraits. We find that, for regular black holes with spherical symmetry and a single shape function, the analytical forms of the asymptotic frequency spectrum are not universal and do not depend on the multipole number but on the presence of complex singularities and the trajectory of asymptotic solutions along the Stokes lines.
We discuss the phenomenology of massless scalar fields around a regular Bardeen black hole, namely absorption cross section, scattering cross section and quasinormal modes. We compare the Bardeen and Reissner-Nordström black holes, showing limiting cases for which their properties are similar.
We compute the exact gravitational quasinormal frequencies for massless topological black holes in d-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. Using the gauge invariant formalism for gravitational perturbations derived by Kodama and Ishibashi, we show that in all cases the scalar, vector, and tensor modes can be reduced to a simple scalar field equation. This equation is exactly solvable in terms of hypergeometric functions, thus allowing an exact analytic determination of the gravitational quasinormal frequencies.
Black hole quasinormal frequencies are complex numbers that encode information on how a black hole relaxes after it has been perturbed and depend on the features of the geometry and on the type of perturbations. On the one hand, the examples studied so far in the literature focused on the case of black hole geometries with singularities in their interior. On the other hand, it is expected that quantum or classical modifications of general relativity may correct the pathological singular behavior of classical black hole solutions. Despite the fact that we do not have at hand a complete theory o…
By applying the dimensionless scheme, we investigate the quasinormal modes and phase transitions analytically for three types of regular black holes. The universal deviations to the first law of mechanics in regular black holes are proved. Meanwhile, we verify that second order phase transitions and Davies points still exist in these three models. In addition, we calculate their quasinormal modes in the eikonal limit by applying the light ring/quasinormal mode correspondence, and discuss the spiral-like shapes and the relations between the quasinormal modes and phase transitions. As the main r…
The quasinormal modes (QNMs) of a regular black hole with charge are calculated in the eikonal approximation. In the eikonal limit the QNMs of black hole are determined by the parameters of the unstable circular null geodesics. The behaviors of QNMs are compared with QNMs of Reisner-Nordström black hole, it is done by fixing some of the parameters that characterize the black holes and varying another. We observed that the parameter that is related one effective cosmological constant at small distances , determines the behaviors of the QNMs of regular black hole with charge.

In this contribution, we study the quasinormal modes of a Generic--class of a regular black hole with a magnetic charge in nonlinear electrodynamics, considering scalar and electromagnetic perturbations. The Generic--class contains the Bardeen--class, Hayward--class, and New--class solutions. As the Generic--class can represent a black hole with two horizons or one horizon. First, we obtain the critical values of the magnetic charge and mass. Then, using the third--order WKB approximation, we can determine the dependence of the quasinormal modes with the parameters of the Generic--class. Final…
Using the WKB approximation, massless and massive Dirac quasinormal modes (QNMs) are studied in spherically symmetric regular spacetimes. We analyze the relationships between QNM frequencies and the parameters (angular momentum number $l$, magnetic monopole charge $β$ and the mass of the field $m$), and discuss the extreme charge of magnetic monopole $β_{e}$ for spherically symmetric regular black holes (BHs). Furthermore, we apply an expansion method to expand QNMs in inverse powers of $L=l+1/2$, and confirm good precision with $l>n$. Finally, we improve traditional finite difference method t…
Bardeen de-Sitter (BdS) black hole is a spherically symmetric solution of Einstein's equation which is coupled to nonlinear electromagnetic field in a way that one gets a regular solution, devoid of any singularity at the origin. We compute the quasinormal (QN) frequencies for BdS black hole due to electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations. We analyse the behaviour of both real and imaginary parts of BdS QN frequencies by varying the black hole parameters and compare frequencies with Reissner-Nordström de-Sitter (RN-dS) black hole. Interestingly, we find that the response of BdS and RN-d…
Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) is a theory that proposes a way to model the behavior of the spacetime in situations where its atomic characteristic arises. Among these situations, the spacetime behavior near the Big Bang or black hole's singularity. The detection of gravitational waves, on the other hand, has opened the way to new perspectives in the investigation of the spacetime structure. In this work, by the use of a WKB method introduced by Schutz and Will \cite{Schutz:1985zz}, and after improved by Iyer and Will \cite{s.iyer-prd35}, we study the gravitational wave spectrum emitted by loop qu…
Black holes provide a natural laboratory to study particle physics and astrophysics. When black holes are surrounded by matter fields, there will be plenty of phenomena which can have observational consequences, from which we can learn about the matter fields as well as black hole spacetime. In this work, we investigate the massive scalar field in the vicinity of a newly proposed rotating regular black hole inspired by quantum gravity. We will especially investigate how this non-singular spactime will affect the superradiance instability and quasinormal modes of the scalar filed. We derive the…
Modifying a method by Horowitz and Hubeny for asymptotically anti-de Sitter black holes, we establish the classical stability of the quasinormal modes of the de Sitter spacetime. Furthermore using a straightforward method we calculate the de Sitter quasinormal frequencies of the gravitational perturbations and discuss some properties of the radial functions of these quasinormal modes.

The dynamics of relativistic stars and black holes are often studied in terms of the quasinormal modes (QNM's) of the Klein-Gordon (KG) equation with different effective potentials $V(x)$. In this paper we present a systematic study of the relation between the structure of the QNM's of the KG equation and the form of $V(x)$. In particular, we determine the requirements on $V(x)$ in order for the QNM's to form complete sets, and discuss in what sense they form complete sets. Among other implications, this study opens up the possibility of using QNM expansions to analyse the behavior of waves in…
We study scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational test fields in the Hayward, Bardeen and Ayón-Beato-García regular black hole spacetimes and demonstrate that the test fields are stable in all these spacetimes. Using the sixth order WKB approximation of the linear "axial" perturbative scheme, we determine dependence of the quasinormal mode (QNM) frequencies on the characteristic parameters of the test fields and the spacetime charge parameters of the regular black holes. We give also the greybody factors, namely the transmission and reflection coefficients of scattered scalar, electromagnetic…
We calculate high-order quasinormal modes with large imaginary frequencies for electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations in nearly extremal Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetimes. Our results show that for low-order quasinormal modes, the analytical approximation formula in the extremal limit derived by Cardoso and Lemos is a quite good approximation for the quasinormal frequencies as long as the model parameter $r_1κ_1$ is small enough, where $r_1$ and $κ_1$ are the black hole horizon radius and the surface gravity, respectively. For high-order quasinormal modes, to which corresponds quasin…
Quasinormal mode (QNM) gravitational radiation from black holes is expected to be observed in a few years. A perturbative formula is derived for the shifts in both the real and the imaginary part of the QNM frequencies away from those of an idealized isolated black hole. The formulation provides a tool for understanding how the astrophysical environment surrounding a black hole, e.g., a massive accretion disk, affects the QNM spectrum of gravitational waves. We show, in a simple model, that the perturbed QNM spectrum can have interesting features.
Respecting the angular momentum conservation of torque-free systems, it is natural to consider rotating solutions of massive objects. Besides that, motivated by the realistic astrophysical black holes that rotate, we use the Newman-Janis formalism to construct a regular rotating black hole. We start with a nonlinearly charged regular static black hole in the framework of the standard general relativity and then obtain the associated rotating solution through such a formalism. We investigate the geometrical properties of the metric by studying the boundary of ergosphere. We also analyze thermod…
Accretion, greybody factor, quasinormal modes, power spectrum, sparsity of Hawking radiation, and weak gravitational lensing of a minimum measurable length inspired Schwarzchild black hole
Based on a regular exact black hole (BH) from nonlinear electrodynamics (NED) coupled to General Relativity, we investigate its stability of such BH through the Quasinormal Modes (QNMs) of electromagnetic (EM) field perturbation and its thermodynamics through Hawking radiation. In perturbation theory, we can deduce the effective potential from nonlinear EM field. The comparison of potential function between regular and RN BHs could predict their similar QNMs. The QNMs frequencies tell us the effect of magnetic charge $q$, overtone $n$, angular momentum number $l$ on the dynamic evolution of NL…
In this work, quasinormal modes (QNMs) of the Schwarzschild black hole are investigated by taking into account the quantum fluctuations. Gravitational and Dirac perturbations were considered for this case. The Regge-Wheeler gauge and the Dirac equation were used to derive the perturbation equations of the gravitational and Dirac fields respectively and the third order Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation method is used for the computing of the quasinormal frequencies. The results show that due to the quantum fluctuations in the background of the Schwarzschild black hole, the QNMs of t…
The purpose of this paper is to study quasinormal modes (QNM) of a regular black hole with a cosmological constant due to scalar perturbations. A detailed study of the QNM frequencies for the massless scalar field were done by varying the parameters of the theory such as the mass, magnetic charge, cosmological constant, and the spherical harmonic index. We have employed the sixth order WKB approximation to compute the QNM frequencies. We have also proved analytically that the $l=0$ mode for the massless field reach a constant value at late times. We have approximated the near-extreme regular-d…

We calculate the quasinormal modes of static spherically symmetric dilatonic Reissner-Nordström black holes for general values of the electric charge and of the dilaton coupling constant. The spectrum of quasinormal modes is composed of five families of modes: polar and axial gravitational-led modes, polar and axial electromagnetic-led modes, and polar scalar-led modes. We make a quantitative analysis of the spectrum, revealing its dependence on the electric charge and on the dilaton coupling constant. For large electric charge and large dilaton coupling, strong deviations from the Reissner-No…
We calculate analytically the highly damped quasinormal mode spectra of generic single-horizon black holes using the rigorous WKB techniques of Andersson and Howls\cite{Andersson}. We thereby provide a firm foundation for previous analysis, and point out some of their possible limitations. The numerical coefficient in the real part of the highly damped frequency is generically determined by the behavior of coupling of the perturbation to the gravitational field near the origin, as expressed in tortoise coordinates. This fact makes it difficult to understand how the famous $ln(3)$ could be rela…
