These talks review and summarize our results in [1,2] on $XYZ$-like spectra obtained from QCD Laplace Sum Rules in the chiral limit at next-to-next-leading order (N2LO) of perturbation theory (PT) and including leading order (LO) contributions of dimensions $d\leq 6-8$ non-perturbative condensates. We conclude that the observed $XZ$ states are good candidates for $1^{+}$ and $0^+$ molecules or / and four-quark states while the predictions for $1^-$ and $0^-$ states are about 1.5 GeV above the $Y_{c,b}$ experimental candidates and hadronic thresholds. We (numerically) find that these exotic molecules couple weakly to the corresponding interpolating currents than ordinary $D,B$ heavy-light mesons while we observe that these couplings decrease faster [$1/m_b^{3/2}$ (resp. $1/m_b$) for the $1^+,0^+$ (resp. $1^-,0^-)$ states] than $1/m_b^{1/2}$. Our results do not also confirm the existence of the $X(5568)$ state in agreement with LHCb findings.
We first construct the effective chiral Lagrangians for the $1^{-+}$ exotic mesons. With the infrared regularization scheme, we derive the one-loop infrared singular chiral corrections to the $π_1(1600)$ mass explicitly. We investigate the variation of the different chiral corrections with the pion mass under two schemes. Hopefully, the explicit non-analytical chiral structures will be helpful to the chiral extrapolation of the lattice data from the dynamical lattice QCD simulation of either the exotic light hybrid meson or tetraquark state.
We examine the chiral corrections to exotic meson masses calculated in lattice QCD. In particular, we ask whether the non-linear chiral behavior at small quark masses, which has been found in other hadronic systems, could lead to large corrections to the predictions of exotic meson masses based on linear extrapolations to the chiral limit. We find that our present understanding of exotic meson decay dynamics suggests that open channels may not make a significant contribution to such non-linearities whereas the virtual, closed channels may be important.
We revisit the formation of pion-mediated heavy-light exotic molecules with both charm and bottom and their chiral partners under the general strictures of both heavy-quark and chiral symmetry. The chiral exotic partners with good parity formed using the $(0^+, 1^+)$ multiplet are about twice more bound than their primary exotic partners formed using the $(0^-,1^-)$ multiplet. The chiral couplings across the multiplets $(0^\pm, 1^\pm)$ cause the chiral exotic partners to unbind, and the primary exotic molecules to be about twice more bound, for $J\leq 1$. Our multi-channel coupling results sho…
We briefly review the formulation of chiral quark soliton model and explain the difference and similarities with the Skyrme model. Next, we apply the model to calculate non-exotic and exotic mass spectra. We concentrate on large $N_{c}$ counting both for mass splittings and decay widths. It is shown that pure large $N_{c}$ arguments do not explain the small width of exotic pentaquark states.
We predict an exotic Z^+ baryon (having spin 1/2, isospin 0 and strangeness +1) with a relatively low mass of about 1530 MeV and total width of less than 15 MeV. It seems that this region of masses has avoided thorough searches in the past.
Recently observed exotic baryon resonance with positive strangeness is discussed. The chiral soliton model, which allowed to predict the mass and width of this state, predicts also a number of other exotic states, strange and non-strange, some of them are, probably, observed in experiments. The existence of exotic multibaryons is expected as well, with positive strangeness or beauty, and negative charm. The possibility of binding of anticharm and antibeauty is pointed out.
Based on chiral dynamics, existence of exotic hadrons is discussed in the SU(3) symmetric limit. The low energy s-wave interaction of the Nambu-Goldstone boson with a hadron is known to be determined model-independently, which has been used to generate some hadron resonances in nonexotic channels. We show that this interaction in any exotic channels is not strong enough to generate a bound state.
We cautiously review the treatment of pentaquark exotic baryons in chiral soliton models. We consider two examples and argue that any consistent and self-contained description must go beyond the mean field approximation that only considers the classical soliton and the canonical quantization of its (would-be) zero modes via collective coordinates.
We use QCD spectral sum rules (QSSR) and the factorization properties of molecule and four-quark currents to estimate the masses and couplings of the 0+ and 1+ molecules and four-quark at N2LO of PT QCD. We include in the OPE the contributions of non-perturbative condensates up to dimension-six. Within the Laplace sum rules approach (LSR) and in the MS-scheme, we summarize our results in Table 2, which agree within the errors with some of the observed XZ-like molecules or/and four-quark. Couplings of these states to the currents are also extracted. Our results are improvements of the LO ones i…
We study the exotic hadrons in s-wave scattering of the Nambu-Goldstone boson with a target hadron based on chiral dynamics. Utilizing the low energy theorem of chiral symmetry, we show that the s-wave interaction is not strong enough to generate bound states in exotic channels in flavor SU(3) symmetric limit, although the interaction is responsible for generating some nonexotic hadron resonances dynamically. We discuss the renormalization condition adopted in this analysis.
We scrutinize recent QCD spectral sum rules (QSSR) results to lowest order (LO) predicting the masses of the BK molecule and (su)\bar(bd) four-quark states. We improve these results by adding NLO and N2LO corrections to the PT contributions giving a more precise meaning on the b-quark mass definition used in the analysis. We extract our optimal predictions using Laplace sum rule (LSR) within the standard stability criteria versus the changes of the external free parameters (τ-sum rule variable, t_c continuum threshold and subtraction constant μ). The smallness of the higher order PT correction…
In 1997 Diakonov, Petrov, and Polyakov, calculated the width of the exotic baryon that they called $Θ^{+}$. The prediction, $Γ(Θ^{+})\lesssim$ 15 MeV, has received considerable attention, especially in light of the narrowness of the experimentally reported $Θ^{+}$ resonance. However, there is an arithmetic error in their work: when corrected, the width estimate quoted in that paper should have been $\lesssim$~30 MeV.
We explore a possibility to generate exotic hadrons dynamically in the scattering of hadrons. The s-wave scattering amplitude of an arbitrary hadron with the Nambu-Goldstone boson is constructed so as to satisfy the unitarity condition and the chiral low energy theorem. We find that the chiral interaction for the exotic channels is in most cases repulsive, and that the strength of the possible attractive interaction is uniquely determined. We show that the attractive interaction in exotic channels is not strong enough to generate a bound state, while the interaction in nonexotic channel genera…
We investigate the magnetic moments of the baryon antidecuplet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model in the chiral limit in a ``\emph{model-independent}'' approach. Sum rules for the magnetic moments are derived. The magnetic moment of $Θ^{+}$ is found to be about $0.2\sim 0.3 μ_{N}$.
In this work we study the possible QCD exotic states in the doubly charmed baryon sector. Within chiral effective theory, it is predicted that several excited baryons result from the $S$-wave scattering of ground-state doubly charmed baryons ($Ξ_{cc}^{++}, Ξ_{cc}^{+}, Ω_{cc}^{+}$) and light pseudoscalar mesons ($π, K, η$). The excited doubly charmed baryons can be classified by the strangeness ($S$) and isospin ($I$) quantum numbers. Two of the excited states are clearly exotic, in the sense that they cannot be explained by the conventional baryons with three quarks, since their quantum number…
We discuss possible interpretation of five excited $Ω^0_c$ states within the Chrial Quark Soliton Model. We show that it is not possible to interpret all five $Ω^0_c$'s as parity minus excitations and argue that two narrowest states are pentaquarks belonging to the SU(3) representation $\overline{15}$.
In the large $N_c$ limit both heavy and light baryons are described by the universal mean field, which allows us to relate the properties of heavy baryons to light ones. With the only input from the decays of light octet baryons (due to the universality of the chiral mean field), excellent description of strong decays of both charm and bottom sextets is obtained. The parameter-free prediction for the widths of exotic anti-decapentaplet ($\overline{\boldsymbol{15}}$) baryons is also made. The exotic heavy baryons should be anomalously narrow despite of large phase space available. In particular…
A chiral effective theory of quarks and diquarks is formulated and applied to exotic tetraquarks and pentaquarks. The effective theory is similar to the chiral quark effective theory with the addition of diquark degrees of freedom and couplings to quarks. Chiral symmetry through generalized Goldberger-Treiman relations, fixes the mass splitting between the even and odd parity diquarks to be about 600 MeV. We provide an estimate of the parameters of the effective theory from both the random instanton model and known data on the low lying scalar nonet. We assess the static properties of the exot…
We exploit the recently developed software package LieART to show that SU(N) grand unified theories with chiral fermions in mixed tensor irreducible representations can lead to standard model chiral fermions without additional light exotic chiral fermions, i.e., only standard model fermions are light in these models. Results are tabulated which may be of use to model builders in the future. An SU(6) toy model is given and model searches are discussed.
We consider the flavour sextet of charmed meson resonances with J^P= 1^+ quantum numbers that is predicted by the leading order chiral Lagrangian with up, down and strange quarks. The effect of chiral correction terms as determined previously from QCD lattice data is worked out. Pole masses in the complex energy plane are derived. The most promising signal from such states accessible in experiments like Belle, LHCb and PANDA are foreseen in the s-wave pi D* phase shift and the eta D* invariant mass distribution. For physical quark masses a rapid variation of the phase shift in between the eta …
We study the exotic $J^{PC}=0^{--}$ four-quark states in Laplace sum rules (LSR) and finite energy sum rules (FESR). We use the vector tetraquark-like currents as interpolating currents in the correlator, from which the $1^{+-}$ states are also studied. In the mass extraction, we use the standard stability criterion with respect to the Borel parameters and the QCD continuum thresholds and consider the effect of the violation of factorization in estimating the high dimensional condensates as a source of uncertainties. The obtained mass prediction $1.66\pm0.14$ GeV is much lower than the previou…
We present in this talk recent results of the magnetic moments of the baryon antidecuplet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model in the chiral limit. The dynamic parameters of the model are fixed by using the experimental data for those of the baryon octet. Sum rules for the magnetic moments are derived. We found that the magnetic moments of the baryon antidecuplet have opposite signs to their charges. The magnetic moments of the neutral baryon antidecuplet turn out to be compatible with zero.
We study s-wave scattering of a hadron and a Nambu-Goldstone boson induced by the model-independent low energy interaction in the flavor SU(3) symmetric limit. Establishing the general structure of the low energy interaction based on group theoretical arguments, we find that the interaction in the exotic channels are in most cases repulsive, and that for possible attractive channels the interaction strengths are weak and uniquely given independent of channel. Solving the scattering problem with this interaction, we show that the attraction in the exotic channels is not strong enough to generat…
We compute the spectra of exotic pentaquarks and monopole excitations of the low--lying ${1/2}^+$ and ${3/2}^+$ baryons in a chiral soliton model. Once the low--lying baryon properties are fit, the other states are predicted without any more adjustable parameters. This approach naturally leads to a scenario in which the mass spectrum of the next to lowest--lying $J^π={1/2}^+$ states is fairly well approximated by the ideal mixing pattern of the $\mathbf{8}\oplus\bar{\mathbf{10}}$ representation of flavor SU(3). We compare our results to predictions obtained in other pictures for pentaquarks an…
In this paper, the possibility to have new physics is considered at the scale of the electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) in a completely new framework. A new non-standard minimal chiral fermion extension of the Standard Model (SM) which renders the complete model free from anomalies is included. The new fermionic matter coupled with scalar leptoquaks (SLQ) developing new signals for exotic fermions that could be evaluated in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Analysis based on the cross-section final states shows that the channels $D_{-1/3}\overline{D}_{-1/3}\rightarrow jj+\notin$ and $D_{-1/3}…
We re-analyze the predictions of chiral-soliton models for the masses and decay widths of baryons in the exotic antidecuplet of flavour SU(3). The calculated ranges of the chiral-soliton moment of inertia and the π-nucleon scattering Σterm are used together with the observed baryon octet and decuplet mass splittings to estimate 1430 MeV < m_{Θ^+} < 1660 MeV} and 1790 MeV < m_{Ξ^{--}} < 1970 MeV. These are consistent with the masses reported recently, but more precise predictions rely on ambiguous identifications of non-exotic baryon resonances. The overall decay rates of antidecuplet states ar…
From the interpretation of the $Θ^+(1540)$ and $Ξ_{3/2}(1862)$ baryons as an excitation of the ``skyrmion liquid'' with SU(3) flavour symmetry $\bar{10}$ we deduce a new series of baryons, $Θ_1^{++}$, $Θ_1^{+}$ and $Θ_1^0$, situated at the top of the 27-plet of SU(3) flavour, with hypercharge Y=2, isospin I=1 and spin $J=\frac32$. The $Θ_1$ mass and width are estimated from the chiral quark soliton model. We demonstrate that the predicted mass, $m_{Θ_1}=1599 \mathrm{MeV/c^2}$, and broad width are in qualitative conflict with experiment which shows no structure in the total $K^+p$ cross section…
Predictions for a light collective $Θ^+$ baryon state (with strangeness +1) based on the collective quantization of chiral soliton models are shown to be inconsistent with large $N_c$ QCD. The lightest strangeness +1 state to emerge from the analysis has an excitation energy which at large $N_c$ scales as $N_c^0$ while collective quantization is legitimate only for excitations which go to zero as $N_c \to \infty$. This inconsistency strongly suggests that predictions for $Θ^+$ properties based on collective quantization of chiral solitons are not valid.
We review the open-charm spectrum of chiral excitations in QCD. At leading order in a chiral expansion a parameter-free prediction is obtained for the coupled-channel scattering of Goldstone bosons off open-charm mesons and baryons with 0^-,1^- and {1/2}^+ quantum numbers. The recently announced narrow D_s(2317) and $D_s(2463)$ mesons observed by the BABAR and CLEO collaborations are reproduced. Also the baryon states Λ_{c}(2593), Λ_{c}(2880) and Ξ_{c}(2790) discovered earlier by the CLEO collaboration are recovered naturally. Besides describing resonances with conventional quantum numbers add…
We present new compact integrated expressions of QCD spectral functions of heavy-light molecules and four-quark $XYZ$-like states at lowest order (LO) of perturbative (PT) QCD and up to $d=8$ condensates of the Operator Product Expansion (OPE). Then, by including up to next-to-next leading order (N2LO) PT QCD corrections, which we have estimated by assuming the factorization of the four-quark spectral functions, we improve previous LO results from QCD spectral sum rules (QSSR), on the $XYZ$-like masses and decay constants which suffer from the ill-defined heavy quark mass. PT N3LO corrections …
This comment discusses a recent paper by Walliser and Weigel on the quantization of chiral soliton models in the context of exotic baryons. Claims made in that work are misleading due to unfortunate nomenclature. Moreover, attempts in that paper to go beyond the leading order calculations of the phase shifts are ad hoc and never justified. This comment also addresses a technical issue in that paper: the identification of the excitation energy of the pentaquark obtained via conventional rigid rotor quantization with a frequency obtained in the context of small amplitude fluctuations. The identi…
We investigate the mass spectrum of $ 1^{++} $ exotic mesons with quark content $ (\c\q\cbar\qbar) $, using molecular and diquark-antidiquark operators, in quenched lattice QCD with exact chiral symmetry. For the molecular operator $ \{(\qbarγ_i\c)(\cbarγ_5\q)- (\cbarγ_i\q)(\qbarγ_5\c) \} $ and the diquark-antidiquark operator $ \{(\q^T C \gi \c)(\qbar C γ_5 \cbar^T)-(\qbar C \gi^T \cbar^T)(\q^T C γ_5 \c) \} $, both detect a resonance with mass around $ 3890 \pm 30 $ MeV in the limit $ m_q \to m_u $, which is naturally identified with $ X(3872) $. Further, heavier exotic meson resonance with $…
An emergence of Local Parity Breaking (LPB) in central heavy-ion collisions (HIC) at high energies is discussed. LPB in the fireball can be produced by a difference between the number densities of right- and left-handed chiral fermions (Chiral Imbalance) which is implemented by a chiral (axial) chemical potential. The effective meson lagrangian induced by QCD is extended to the medium with Chiral Imbalance and the properties of light scalar and pseudoscalar mesons ($π, a_0$) are analyzed. It is shown that exotic decays of scalar mesons arise as a result of mixing of $ π$ and $ a_0 $ vacuum sta…
The QCD sum rule approach is employed in order to study chiral properties of positive- and negative-parity nucleon resonances. It is pointed out that nucleons with an ``exotic'' chiral property, which can be represented by local five-quark operators, can be paired with a standard nucleon forming a single chiral multiplet. The sum rules of the five-quark operators, however, are shown not to couple strongly to chirally-``exotic'' nucleon resonances at the mass region of less than 2 GeV.
We study s-wave bound states of a hadron and a light pseudoscalar meson induced by the Weinberg-Tomozawa (WT) interaction in the flavor SU(3) symmetric limit. The WT interaction is a driving force to generate quasibound states dynamically in the chiral unitary approaches. The strength and sign of the WT interaction are determined only by the group theoretical structure of the target hadrons, and we present a general expression of the strengths for the flavor SU(3) case. We show that, for the channels which are more exotic than the target, the interaction is repulsive in most cases, and the str…
Several years ago we have proposed a manifestly covariant $\tilde{U}(12)_{SF}$-classification scheme of hadrons, which maintains the successful $SU(6)_{SF}\otimes O(3)_{L}$ framework in Non-Relativistic Quark Model and is also reconcilable with the mechanism of Spontaneously-Broken Chiral Symmetry in Relativistic Field Theoretical Models. The essential point here is to notice the overlooked freedom of the $SU(2)_ρ$-spin for (confined) light quarks, which leads to existence of new type of ``exotic'' hadrons, called ``chiralons'' and to a selection rule, $ρ_{3}$-line rule, on the spectator quark…
We calculate the complete $T$ matrices of the elastic light pseudoscalar meson and heavy meson scattering to the third order in heavy meson chiral perturbation theory. We determine the low-energy constants by fitting the phase shifts and scattering lengths from lattice QCD simulations simultaneously and predict the phase shifts at the physical meson masses. The phase shifts in the $Dπ(I=1/2)$, $DK(I=0)$, $D\bar{K}(I=0)$, $D_s\bar{K}$, $Dη$ and $D_sη$ $S$ waves are so strong that bound states or resonances may be generated dynamically in all these channels. The $DK(I=0)$ channel corresponds to …
We employ the chiral quark-soliton model to describe excited baryons with one heavy quark. Identifying known charmed baryons with multiplets allowed by the model, we argue that apart from regular excitations of the ground state multiplets, some of recently reported by the LHCb collaboration narrow $Ω^{0}_{c}$ states, may correspond to the exotic pentaquarks. This interpretation can be easily verified experimentally, since exotic $Ω^{0}_{c}$ states -- contrary to the regular excitations -- form isospin triplets, rather than singlets.
We briefly review the formation of pion-mediated heavy-light exotic molecules with both charm and bottom, under the general strictures of chiral and heavy quark symmetries. The charm isosinglet exotic molecules with $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ binds, which we identify as the reported neutral $X(3872)$. The bottom isotriplet exotic with $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$ binds, and is identified as a mixed state of the reported charged exotics $Z^+_b(10610)$ and $Z^+_b(10650)$. The bound bottom isosinglet molecule with $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ is a possible neutral $X_b(10532)$ to be observed.
This talk reviews and summarizes some of our results in [1] on XYZ- SU3 Breakings obtained from QCD Laplace Sum Rules (LSR) at next-to-next-leading order (N2LO) of perturbative (PT) theory and including next-to-leading order (NLO) SU3 breaking corrections and leading order (LO) contributions of dimensions d< (6 - 8) non-perturbative condensates. We conclude that the observed X states are good candidates for being 1^++ and 0^++ molecules states. We find that the SU3 breakings are relatively small for the masses (< 10 (resp. 3) %) for the charm (resp. bottom) channels while they are large (< 20 …
We use the perturbation method to calculate the masses and widths for 27-plet baryons with spin 3/2 from chiral soliton models. According to the masses and quantum numbers, we find all the candidates for non-exotic members of 27-plet. The calculation of the widths shows that these candidates manifest an approximate symmetry of the 27 representation of the SU(3) group, and the quantum numbers of $Ξ(1950)$ seem to be $I(J^P)={1/2}({3/2}^+)$. Up to leading order of the strange quark mass, we find that the exotic members have widths much larger than those of the anti-decuplet members.
We reconsider the relationship between the bound state and the SU(3) rigid rotator approaches to strangeness in chiral soliton models. For non-exotic $S=-1$ baryons the bound state approach matches for small $m_K$ onto the rigid rotator approach, and the bound state mode turns into the rotator zero-mode. However, for small $m_K$, there are no $S=+1$ kaon bound states or resonances in the spectrum. This shows that for large $N$ and small $m_K$ the exotic state is an artifact of the rigid rotator approach. An $S=+1$ near-threshold state with the quantum numbers of the $Θ^+$ pentaquark comes into…
We use the Laplace/Borel sum rules (LSR) and the finite energy/local duality sum rules (FESR) to investigate the non-strange $ud\bar u\bar d$ and hidden-strange $us\bar u\bar s$ tetraquark states with exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC}=0^{+-}$ . We systematically construct all eight possible tetraquark currents in this channel without covariant derivative operator. Our analyses show that the $ud\bar u\bar d$ systems have good behaviour of sum rule stability and expansion series convergence in both the LSR and FESR analyses, while the LSR for the $us\bar u\bar s$ states do not associate with conver…
In this talk, we present our recent investigation on the magnetic moments of the exotic pentaquark states, based on the chiral quark-soliton model, all relevant intrinsic parameters being fixed by using empirical data.
We investigate the pentaquark($P$) exotic baryons as soliton-antiflavored heavy mesons bound states in the limit of infinitely heavy meson mass. Our approach respects the chiral symmetry as well as the heavy quark symmetry. The results reveal a possibility for the loosely bound non-strange $P$-baryon(s).
We investigate the chiral (flavor) structure of tetraquarks, and study chiral transformation properties of the "non-exotic" [(3_bar,3)+(3,3_bar)] and [(8,1)+(1,8)] tetraquark chiral multiplets. We find that as long as this kind of tetraquark states contains one quark and one antiquark having the same chirality, such as (q_L q_L \bar q_L \bar q_R + q_R q_R \bar q_R \bar q_L), they transform in the same way as the lowest level (\bar q q) chiral multiplets under chiral transformations. There is only one [(3_bar,3)+(3,3_bar)] chiral multiplet whose quark-antiquark pairs all have the opposite chira…
In the past decade, exotic hadrons with charm and bottom flavors have been extensively studied both in experiments and in theories. In this review, we provide topical discussions by selecting $X,Y,Z$ particles, to which Belle has made important contributions. These are $X(3872)$, $Y(4260)$, $Z_c(4430)^+$, $Z_c(3900)^+$, $Z_{b}(10610)^+$ and $Z_{b}(10650)^+$. Based on the current experimental observations, we discuss those states with emphasis on hadronic molecule whose dynamics is governed by chiral symmetry and heavy-quark symmetry of QCD. We also mention briefly various interpretations and s…
We present an extensive study of the static properties of light exotic and non-exotic baryons, based on the formulation of chiral quark-soliton model in terms of light-cone wave functions. We discuss in particular vector, axial and tensor charges as well as an estimation of the electromagnetic moments for the baryon octet, decuplet and hypothetical antidecuplet. Contributions from Fock components up to the seven-quark sector are considered and appear to be sizeable, reflecting the importance of the pion cloud. All these observables are further decomposed into flavor, valence quark, sea quark a…
In this talk I report on a computation of the spectra of exotic pentaquarks and radial excitations of the low--lying ${1/2}^+$ and ${3/2}^+$ baryons in a chiral soliton model. In addition I present model results for the transition magnetic moments between the N(1710) and the nucleon.
The concept of chirality is extended to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and the mu term is forbidden by a gauged U(1)' symmetry. R-parity automatically emerges after symmetry breaking, suppressing proton decay and protecting the LSP. Exotics charged under the SM pose a challenge to traditional SU(5) unification, but unification is still implemented in deconstructed GUTs. Because of the multitude of additional states to the MSSM, the Z' has a large width, and the SM background, neglected in previous theoretical studies, becomes important for Z' discovery. As a result, the LHC r…
We propose large $N_c$ generalizations for the "diquark" representations of SU(3)$_{\rm flav}$ relevant for positive parity heavy baryons, including putative exotic states. Next, within the framework of the Chiral Quark Soliton Model, we calculate heavy baryon masses and decay widths. We show that in the limit of $N_c \rightarrow \infty$ {\em all} decay widths vanish, including the widths of exotica. This result is in fact more general than the model itself, as it relies only on the underlying symmetries: i.e. SU(3)$_{\rm flav}$ and hedgehog symmetry. Furthermore, using explicit model formulae…
It is shown, that the small decay width of $Θ^+ = uudd\bar{s}$ baryon is suppressed by chirality violation. It is shown that $Θ^+$ decay width $Γ$ is proportional to $α^2_s < 0 | \bar{q} q | 0 >^2$, for any pentaquark current without derivatives.
The number of exotic candidates in both light- and heavy-quark hadron sectors has increased dramatically since the discovery by the Belle Collaboration of the so-called $X(3872)$ in 2003. It is clear that the simple quark model picture needs an extension and thus the last twenty years have witnessed an explosion of related theoretical and experimental activity. The ultimate goal of theory is to describe the properties of exotic states from the first principles of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), which is the non-Abelian Quantum Field Theory that describes the strong interaction. However, since th…
The 3-3-1 electroweak model is the simplest chiral extension of the standard model which predicts single and double charged bileptons and exotic quarks carrying -4/3 and 5/3 units of the positron charge. In this paper we study the possibilities of the production and decay of one of these exotic quarks at CERN LEPII-LHC collider. For typical vector bilepton, exotic quark masses and mixing angles we obtained between 20 and 750 events per year. Angular distributions are also presented.
Triggered by a recent announcement by the LHCb Collaboration of five excited $Ω^0_c$ resonances of small widths we propose an interpretation based on the Chiral Quark Soliton Model. We argue that three of the LHCb resonances are parity ($-$) excitations of the ground state SU(3) sextets, while the other two with the smallest widths are exotic pentaquarks that belong to the SU(3) $\overline{\mathbf{15}}$. We first briefly review the model and discuss the status of the putative $Θ^+(1540)$. Next we show how to generalize the model to the case of heavy baryons. We test this approach against the g…
We present a systematic study of the phase structure of QCD in a generalized Ginzburg-Landau framework. We find, going up in density, a strongly interacting matter might go through the "pion crystal", an exotic inhomogeneous chiral phase before reaching the full restoration of symmetry.
In the large $N_c$ limit, one can describe normal heavy baryons $Qqq$ and heavy pentaquarks $\bar Qqqqq$ as bound states of heavy mesons to chiral (anti)solitons. In this picture, the strong and electromagnetic decay parameters of these hadrons can be calculated from those of the constituent heavy mesons and light baryons, while the weak decay form factors can be evaluated analytically.
Heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory for pentaquarks is applied beyond leading order. The mass splitting in the pentaquark anti-decuplet is calculated up to NNLO. An expansion in the coupling of pentaquarks to non-exotic baryons simplifies calculations and makes the pentaquark masses insensitive to the pentaquark-nucleon mass difference. The possibility of determining coupling constants in the chiral Lagrangian on the lattice is discussed. Both positive and negative parities are considered.
