We study the LHC phenomenology of the next-to-minimal model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (NMGMSB), both for Run I and Run II. The Higgs phenomenology of the model is consistent with observations: a 125 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs which mixes with singlet-like state of mass around 90 GeV that provides a 2$σ$ excess at LEP II. The model possesses regions of parameter space where a longer-lived lightest neutralino decays in the detector into a gravitino and a $b-$jet pair or a tau pair. We investigate current lower bounds on sparticle masses and the discovery potential of the model, both via conventional sparticle searches and via searches for displaced vertices. The strongest bound from searches for promptly decaying sparticles yields a lower limit on the gluino mass of 1080 GeV. An analysis of 100 fb$^{-1}$ from Run II, on the other hand, is expected to be sensitive up to 1900 GeV. The displaced vertex searches from Run I suffer from a very low signal efficiency, mainly due to the presence of $b-$quarks in the final state. We show how the displaced vertex cuts might be relaxed in order to improve signal efficiency, while simultaneous prompt objects can be used to cut down background. We find that a combined search strategy with both prompt and displaced cuts potentially has a far better sensitivity to this model than either set alone, motivating a fully fledged experimental study.
We study in detail the particle spectrum in anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking models in which supersymmetry breaking terms are induced by the super-Weyl anomaly. We investigate the minimal anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking models, gaugino assisted supersymmetry breaking models, as well as models with additional residual nondecoupling D-term contributions due to an extra U(1) gauge symmetry at a high energy scale. We derive sum rules for the sparticle masses in these models which can help in differentiating between them. We also obtain the sparticle spectrum numerically, and compare…
Within the MSSM framework and with purely anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking the slepton masses turn out to be tachyonic. We resolve this problem by introducing an anomaly free U(1) gauge symmetry which provides positive $D$-term contributions to sparticle masses squared that are flavor conserving at one loop. Two realistic examples based on SU(5) are presented. With U(1) spontaneously broken at a scale $\sim 10^{16}$ GeV, the right handed neutrinos acquire masses $\stackrel{<}{_\sim}10^{14}$ GeV. This breaking scale of U(1) also plays an important role in the proposed resolution of the M…
We revisit a simple model that combines minimal gauge mediation and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We show that one can obtain a 125 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs boson with stops as light as 1.1 TeV, thanks to the mixing of the Higgs with a singlet state at O(90-100) GeV. Sparticle searches at the LHC may come with additional b-jets or taus and may involve displaced vertices. The sparticle production cross-section at the 13 TeV LHC can be O(10-100) fb, leading to great prospects for discovery in the early phase of LHC Run II.
The phenomenology associated with gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking is presented. A renormalization group analysis of the minimal model is performed in which the constraints of radiative electroweak symmetry breaking are imposed. The resulting superpartner and Higgs boson spectra are highly correlated and depend on only a few parameters. Superpartner mass ratios and sum rules are identified which can be tested at future colliders. Some of these relations are logarithmically sensitive to the messenger scale, while others allow gauge-mediation to be distinguished from other schemes for tansm…
Recently, a proposal (by R.N.M. and S.N.) was made for a new class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models where the standard model gauge group is embedded into the gauge group $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_{I_{3R}}\times U(1)_{B-L}$ (or $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_R\times U(1)_{B-L}$) at the supersymmetry breaking scale $Λ$. Supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to the visible sector via the same fields that are responsible for gauge symmetry breaking rather than by vector-like quarks and leptons as in the conventional GMSB models. These models have a number of attractive properties such as exa…
We generalize the gauge sector of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking to allow for an arbitrary gauge group with an arbitrary supersymmetric Higgsing. The sparticle masses are computed to leading order in the gauge coupling. The generic effect on the MSSM spectrum from additional Higgsed gauge structure is to increase the sfermion masses relative to the gaugino masses.
SUSYGEN is a Monte Carlo program designed for computing distributions and generating events for MSSM sparticle production in e+ e- collisions. The Supersymmetric (SUSY) mass spectrum may either be supplied by the user, or can alternatively be calculated in two different models of SUSY Breaking: gravity mediated supersymmetry breaking (SUGRA), and gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB). The program incorporates the most important production processes and decay modes, including the full set of R-parity violating decays, and the decays to the gravitino in GMSB models. Initial state radiatio…
Relatively light stops in gauge mediation models are usually made compatible with the Higgs mass of 125 GeV by introducing direct Higgs-messenger couplings. We show that such couplings are not necessary in a simple and predictive model that combines minimal gauge mediation and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). We show that one can obtain a 125 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs boson with stops as light as 1.1 TeV, thanks to the mixing of the Higgs with a singlet state at ${\cal O}(90-100)$ GeV that can explain the LEP excess. In this scenario the singlet-higgs-higgs superf…
We discuss a recently proposed scenario where the sparticle masses are purely mediated by gravity through the superconformal anomaly. This scenario elegantly evades the supersymmetric flavor problem since soft masses, like the anomaly, are not directly sensitive to ultraviolet physics. However, its minimal incarnation fails by predicting tachyonic sleptons. We study the conditions for decoupling of heavy threshold effects and how these conditions are evaded. We use these results to build a realistic class of models where the non-decoupling effects of ultra-heavy vectorlike matter fields elimin…
We explore the implications of t-b-tau (and b-tau) Yukawa coupling unification condition on the fundamental parameter space and sparticle spectroscopy in the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (mGMSB) model. We find that this scenario prefers values of the CP-odd Higgs mass m_A > 1 TeV, with all colored sparticle masses above 3 TeV. These predictions will be hard to test at LHC13 but they may be testable at HE-LHC 33 TeV or a 100 TeV collider. Both t-b-tau and b-tau Yukawa coupling unifications prefer a relatively light gravitino with mass < 30 eV, which makes it a candidate hot dar…
We propose a systematic programme to search for long-lived neutral particle signatures through a minimal set of displaced searches requiring significant missing transverse energy (dMETs). Our approach is to extend the well-established dark matter simplified models to include displaced vertices. The dark matter simplified models are used to describe the primary production vertex. A displaced secondary vertex, characterised by the mass of the long-lived particle and its lifetime, is added for the displaced signature. We show how these models can be motivated by, and mapped onto, complete models …
There are many theoretical reasons why heavy quasi-stable charged particles might exist. Pair production of such particles at the Tevatron can produce highly ionizing tracks (HITs) or fake muons. In gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking, sparticle production can lead to events with a pair of quasi-stable sleptons, a significant fraction of which will have the same electric charge. Depending on the production mechanism and the decay chain, they may also be accompanied by additional energetic leptons. We study the relative importance of the resulting signals for the Tevatron Run II. The relative…
We propose a new scenario that solves the slepton negative mass squared problem of the minimal supersymmetric standard model with anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking. The solution is achieved by including three trilinear R-parity violating operators in the superpotential. The soft supersymmetry breaking terms satisfy renormalisation group invariant relations in terms of supersymmetric couplings and the overall supersymmetry breaking mass scale. Flavour changing neutral currents can be naturally highly suppressed. A specific model predicts tan beta=4.2+/-1.0. Excluding sleptons, the supersy…
We investigate the sparticle spectrum in models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. In these models, supersymmetry is spontaneously broken at an energy scale only a few orders of magnitude above the electroweak scale. The breakdown of supersymmetry is communicated to the standard model particles and their superpartners by "messenger" fields through their ordinary gauge interactions. We study the effects of a messenger sector in which the supersymmetry-violating F-term contributions to messenger scalar masses are comparable to the supersymmetry-preserving ones. We also argue that it is no…
We show that in a minimal extension of the MSSM by means of an extra U(1) gauge group, the negative mass-squared problem characteristic of the Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking scenario is naturally solved by means of Fayet-Iliopoulos D-terms. We derive a set of sum rules for the sparticle masses which are consequences of the resulting framework.
We consider minimal Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking models at which the next to lightest supersymmetric particle is a neutralino with a large enough decay length to be detected at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. We analyze the potential of the LHCb experiment to determine the discovery reach for such models and found that the LHCb will be able to probe such models up to the energy breaking scale of Λ= 130 TeV.
We propose a novel supersymmetric unified scenario of the triplet seesaw mechanism where the exchange of the heavy triplets generates both neutrino masses and soft supersymmetry breaking terms. Our framework is very predictive since it relates neutrino mass parameters, lepton flavour violation in the slepton sector, sparticle and Higgs spectra and electroweak symmetry breakdown. The phenomenological viability and experimental signatures in lepton flavor violating processes are discussed.
Supersymmetric models with broken R-parity provide mechanisms that allow to generate Majorana neutrino masses and magnetic moments through virtual particle-sparticle loops. This constitutes an attractive alternative to the see-saw mechanism. In this paper we present a detailed calculation of the transition magnetic moments of a Majorana neutrino in gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking MSSM without R-parity. We base our analysis on the renormalization group evolution of the MSSM parameters, which are unified at the GUT scale.
We simulate precision measurements of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) parameters at a 500 GeV e+e- linear collider in the scenario where a neutralino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle. Information on the supersymmetry breaking and the messenger sectors of the theory is extracted from the measured sparticle mass spectrum and neutralino lifetime.
We consider supersymmetric grand unified theory (GUT) with the gaugino mediated supersymmetry breaking and investigate a possibility to discriminate different GUT models in terms of predicted sparticle mass spectra. Taking two example GUT models, the minimal SU(5) and simple SO(10) models, and imposing a variety of theoretical and experimental constraints, we calculate sparticle masses. Fixing parameters of each model so as to result in the same mass of neutralino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), giving the observed dark matter relic density, we find sizable mass differences in t…
We extend the Minimum Supersymmetry Standard Model by a non-anomalous family (NAF) U(1)'_{NAF} gauge symmetry. All gauge anomalies are cancelled with no additional exotics other than the three right-handed neutrinos. The FI D-terms associated with the U(1)'_{NAF} symmetry lead to additional positive contributions to slepton squared masses. In a RG invariant way, this thus solves the tachyonic slepton mass problem in Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking. In addition, the U (1)'_{NAF} symmetry naturally gives rise to the fermion mass hierarchy and mixing angles, and determines the mass spectr…
Supersymmetry searches at the LHC are both highly varied and highly constraining, but the vast majority are focused on cases where the final-stage visible decays are prompt. Scenarios featuring superparticles with detector-scale lifetimes have therefore remained a tantalizing possibility for sub-TeV SUSY, since explicit limits are relatively sparse. Nonetheless, the extremely low backgrounds of the few existing searches for collider-stable and displaced new particles facilitates recastings into powerful long-lived superparticle searches, even for models for which those searches are highly non-…
After a general discussion about the quantitative meaning of the naturalness upper bounds on the masses of supersymmetric particles, we compute these bounds in models with gauge-mediated soft terms. We find interesting upper limits on the right-handed slepton masses that, unless the messenger fields are very light, disfavor minimal models with large messenger content. Deep unphysical minima, that however turn out to be not dangerous, are usually present in such models. The mu-problem can be solved by adding a light singlet only at the price of a large amount of fine tuning that gives also rise…
In gauge-mediated theories supersymmetry breaking originates in a strongly interacting sector and is communicated to the ordinary sparticles via SU(3)$\times$SU(2)$\times$U(1) carrying ``messenger'' particles. Stable baryons of the strongly interacting supersymmetry breaking sector naturally weigh $\sim$ 100 TeV and are viable cold dark matter candidates. They interact too weakly to be observed in dark matter detectors. The lightest messenger particle is a viable cold dark matter candidate under particular assumptions. It weighs less than 5 TeV, has zero spin and is easily observable in dark m…
The phenomenology of a new economical SUSY model that utilizes dynamical SUSY breaking and gauge-mediation (GM) for the generation of the sparticle spectrum and the hierarchy of fermion masses is discussed. Similarities between the communication of SUSY breaking through a messenger sector, and the generation of flavor using the Froggatt-Nielsen (FN) mechanism are exploited, leading to the identification of vector-like messenger fields with FN fields, and the messenger U(1) as a flavor symmetry. An immediate consequence is that the first and second generation scalars acquire flavor-dependent ma…
We evaluate the supersymmetry reach of the Large Hadron Collider within the gauge-mediated low energy supersymmetry breaking framework, assuming that a neutralino is the second lightest sparticle and that it decays promptly into a gravitino which escapes detection. We find that the maximum reach is obtained via a search for inclusive $γγ+\eslt$ events coming dominantly from chargino and neutralino production. Assuming an integrated luminosity of 10~$fb^{-1}$, we find that LHC experiments will be able to probe values of the model parameter $Λ\alt 400$ TeV, corresponding to $m_{\tg} \leq 2.8$ Te…
We examine signals for sparticle production at the Tevatron within the framework of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models for four different model lines, each of which leads to qualitatively different signatures. We identify cuts to enhance the signal above Standard Model backgrounds, and use ISAJET to evaluate the SUSY reach of experiments at the Fermilab Main Injector and at the proposed TeV33. For the model lines that we have examined, we find that the reach is at least as large, and frequently larger, than in the mSUGRA framework. For two of these model lines, we find that the abili…
We explore the implications of a 124-126 GeV CP-even Higgs boson on the fundamental parameter space and sparticle spectroscopy of the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (mGMSB) scenario. The above mass for the Higgs boson yields stringent lower bounds on the sparticle masses in this class of models. The lightest neutralino and stau masses lie close to 1.5 TeV and 800 GeV respectively, while the majority of the sparticle masses are in the several to multi-TeV range. We show that with a single pair of 5+\bar{5} SU(5) messenger multiplets, the lower limit on the gravitino mass is \sim …
We construct a Minimum Supersymmetry Standard Model expanded by a non-anomalous family (NAF) U(1)'_{NAF} gauge symmetry. In addition, the U(1)'_{NAF} symmetry naturally gives rise to the fermion mass hierarchy and mixing angles, and determines the ma…
Though the minimal model of anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking has been significantly constrained by recent experimental and theoretical work, there are still allowed regions of the parameter space for moderate to large values of $\tanβ$. We show that these regions will be comprehensively probed in a ${\sqrt s} =1$ TeV $e^+e^-$ linear collider. Diagnostic signals to this end are studied by zeroing in on a unique and distinct feature of a large class of models in this genre: a neutral winolike Lightest Supersymmetric Particle closely degenerate in mass with a winolike chargino. The pair pr…
We present a general phenomenological framework for dialing between gravity mediation, gauge mediation, and anomaly mediation. The approach is motivated from recent developments in moduli stabilization, which suggest that gravity mediated terms can be effectively loop suppressed and thus comparable to gauge and anomaly mediated terms. The gauginos exhibit a mirage unification behavior at a "deflected" scale, and gluinos are often the lightest colored sparticles. The approach provides a rich setting in which to explore generalized supersymmetry breaking at the LHC.
We investigate the experimental implications of the minimal gauge-mediated low energy supersymmetry breaking (GMLESB) model for Fermilab Tevatron collider experiments. We map out the regions of parameter space of this model that have already been excluded by collider searches and by limits on $b\to sγ$. We use ISAJET to compute the cross sections for a variety of topological signatures which include photons in assocation with multiple leptons, jets and missing transverse energy. The reach in the parameter $Λ$, which fixes the scale of sparticle masses, is estimated to be $\sim 60$, 100 and 135…
We investigate a large class of supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theories within the framework of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. We start with the most general messenger sector and imbedd the standard model gauge group into either SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R X U(1)_{B-L} or SU(2)_L X U(1)_{I_{3R}} X U(1)_{B-L}. We find that the conditions of the perturbativity of the gauge couplings and unification at the GUT scale severely restrict the messenger sector and lead to testable phenomenological predictions for the sparticle masses. One of the most notable features of the class of supersymmetric S…
We examine signals for sparticle production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) within the framework of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models with a low SUSY breaking scale for four different model lines, each of which leads to qualitatively different signatures. We first examine the reach of the LHC via the canonical E_T^miss and multilepton channels that have been advocated within the mSUGRA framework. Next, we examine special features of each of these model lines that could serve to further enhance the SUSY signal over Standard Model backgrounds. We use ISAJET to evaluate the SUS…
We study low-scale gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models with a very light gravitino of mass $\mathcal{O}(1)$ eV. The cosmological upper bound on the gravitino mass and the collider constraints on the sparticle masses give a significant impact on such models. We apply the latest results of the LHC to these models and obtain the current constraints. We find that perturbatively calculable classes of low-scale gauge mediation models can be largely excluded.
We present an extensive analysis of low-energy, electroweak precision, and cosmological constraints in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with Gauge-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking (GMSB) and including the possibility of Non-Minimal Flavour Violation (NMFV). Using detailed scans over the parameter space, we show how NMFV allows to relax the stringent constraints excluding large parts of the minimal GMSB. We define benchmark scenarios and present numerical predictions for various sparticle production cross sections at the LHC.
We examine the supersymmetry phenomenology of a novel scenario of supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking which we call Gaugino Anomaly Mediation, or inoAMSB. This is suggested by recent work on the phenomenology of flux compactified type IIB string theory. The essential features of this scenario are that the gaugino masses are of the anomaly-mediated SUSY breaking (AMSB) form, while scalar and trilinear soft SUSY breaking terms are highly suppressed. Renormalization group effects yield an allowable sparticle mass spectrum, while at the same time avoiding charged LSPs; the latter are common in models wi…
We study the hidden sector effects to the mass renormalization of a simplest gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario. We point out that possible hidden sector contributions render the soft scalar masses smaller, resulting in drastically different sparticle mass spectrum at low energy. In particular, in the ${\bf 5}+\bar{\bf 5}$ minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking with high messenger scale (that is favored by the gravitino cold dark matter scenario), we show that stau can be the next lightest superparticle for moderate values of hidden sector self coupling. This provides a very…
In a class of Type-II seesaw dominated $SO(10)$ models proposed recently with heavy neutrinos, extra $Z'$ boson, and resonant leptogenesis, at first we show that the lightest first generation sterile neutrino that mediates dominant contributions to neutrinoless double beta decay also generates the displaced vertex leading to verifiable like-sign di-electron as well as di-muon production events outside the LHC detectors having suppressed standard model back-ground and missing energy. Resonant leptogenesis in this case is implemented by a pair of quasi-degenerate sterile neutrinos of the second …
The experimental signatures for gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking are presented. The phenomenology associated with this class of models is distinctive since the gravitino is naturally the LSP. The next lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) can be a gaugino, Higgsino, or right handed slepton. Decay of the NLSP to its partner plus the LSP proceeds through the Goldstino component of the gravitino. For a significant range of parameters this decay can take place within the detector, and can be measured as a displaced vertex or kink in a charged particle track. In the case that the NLSP is mos…
We discuss the parameter spaces of supersymmetry (SUSY) scenarios taking into account the improved Higgs-mass prediction provided by FeynHiggs 2.14.1. Among other improvements, this prediction incorporates three-loop renormalization-group effects and two-loop threshold corrections, and can accommodate three separate mass scales: m_{\tilde q} (for squarks), m_{\tilde g} (for gluinos) and m_{\tildeχ} (for electroweakinos). Furthermore, it contains an improved treatment of the DRbar scalar top parameters avoiding problems with the conversion to on-shell parameters, that yields more accurate resul…
We investigate a neutrino mass model in which the neutrino data is accounted for by bilinear R-parity violating supersymmetry with anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking. We focus on the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) phenomenology, studying the reach of generic supersymmetry search channels with leptons, missing energy and jets. A special feature of this model is the existence of long lived neutralinos and charginos which decay inside the detector leading to detached vertices. We demonstrate that the largest reach is obtained in the displaced vertices channel and that practically all of th…
A striking consequence of supersymmetry breaking communicated purely via the superconformal anomaly is that the gaugino masses are proportional to the gauge beta functions. This result, however, is not unique to anomaly mediation. We present examples of ``generalized'' gauge-mediated models with messengers in standard model representations that give nearly identical predictions for the gaugino masses, but positive (mass)^2 for all sleptons. There are remarkable similarities between an anomaly-mediated model with a small additional universal mass added to all scalars and the gauge-mediated mode…
A hidden valley sector may havea profound impact on the classic phenomenology of supersymmetry. This occurs if the LSP lies in the valley sector. In addition to reducing the standard missing energy signals and possibly providing displaced vertices (phenomena familiar from gauge-mediated and R-parity-violating models) it may lead to a variable multiplicity of new neutral particles, whose decays produce soft jets and/or leptons, and perhaps additional displaced vertices. Combined, these issues might obscure supersymmetric particle production from search strategies used on current Tevatron data a…
In the absence of universality the naturalness upper limits on supersymmetric particle masses increase significantly. The superpartners of the two light generations can be much heavier than the weak scale without extreme fine-tunings; they can weigh up to about 900 GeV --- or even up to 5 TeV, if SU(5) universality is invoked. This supresses sparticle-mediated rare processes and consequently ameliorates the problem of supersymmetric flavor violations. On the other hand, even without universality, the gluino and stop remain below about 400 GeV while the charginos and neutralinos are likely to b…
We critically examine interpretations of hypothetical supersymmetric LHC signals, fitting to alternative wrong models of supersymmetry breaking. The signals we consider are some of the most constraining on the sparticle spectrum: invariant mass distributions with edges and end-points from the golden cascade decay chain \tilde{q}_L -> q χ_2^0 (-> \tilde{l}^{\pm} l^{\mp} q) -> χ_1^0 l^+ l^- q. We assume a CMSSM point to be the `correct' one, and fit the signals instead to minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models (mGMSB) with a neutralino quasi-stable lightest supersymmetric particle,…
We investigate the Q-ball decay in the gauge-mediated SUSY breaking. Q balls decay mainly into nucleons, and partially into gravitinos, while they are kinematically forbidden to decay into sparticles which would be cosmologically harmful. This is achieved by the Q-ball charge small enough to be unstable for the decay, and large enough to be protected kinematically from unwanted decay channel. We can then have right amounts of the baryon asymmetry and the dark matter of the universe, evading any astrophysical and cosmological observational constraints such as the big bang nucleosynthesis, which…
In supersymmetric (SUSY) theories with extra dimensions the visible energy in sparticle decays can be significantly reduced and its energy distribution broadened, thus significantly weakening the present collider limits on SUSY. The mechanism applies when the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is a bulk state-- e.g. a bulk modulino, axino, or gravitino-- the size of the extra dimensions larger than ~$10^{-14}$ cm, and for a broad variety of visible sparticle spectra. In such cases the lightest ordinary supersymmetric particle (LOSP), necessarily a brane-localised state, decays to the Kaluz…
We consider a solution to the mu problem in the context of Non-Minimal Gauge Mediation with two Singlets and Low-Scale Messengers. This solution reduces tuning associated with the "Little Hierarchy" problem by permitting a naturally small mu term (100-300 GeV) due to small mixing between the Singlets. The smallness of mu also relies crucially on compressing the Gauge Mediated sparticle spectrum resulting in 330-400 GeV squarks. In addition to a small mu term, the theory achieves a Higgs mass > 114.4 GeV through a large Higgs quartic coupling when tanbeta ~ 1.5. The vacua studied are globally s…
The prospects for discovering and studying signals of low-scale supersymmetry breaking models at the Tevatron Run II and beyond are explored. These models include gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking as the most compelling and concrete realization, but more generally are distinguished by the presence of a nearly massless Goldstino as the lightest supersymmetric particle. The next-lightest supersymmetric particle(s) (NLSP) decays to its partner and the Goldstino. Depending on the supersymmetry breaking scale, these decays can occur promptly or on a scale comparable to or larger than the size o…
Recently, the E821 experiment at the Brookhaven National Laboratory announced their latest result of their muon g-2 measurement which is about 2.6-σaway from the standard model prediction. Taking this result seriously, we examine the possibility to explain this discrepancy by the supersymmetric contribution. Our analysis is performed in the framework of the unconstrained supersymmetric standard model which has free seven parameters relevant to muon g-2. We found that, in the case of large \tanβ, sparticle masses are allowed to be large in the region where the SUSY contribution to the muon g-2 …
The Supersymmetric SO(10) theory ("NMSO(10)GUT") based on the\hfil\break ${\bf{210+126 +\oot}}$ Higgs system proposed in 1982 has evolved into a realistic theory capable of fitting the known low energy Particle Physics data besides providing a Dark matter candidate and embedding Inflationary Cosmology. It dynamically resolves longstanding issues such as fast dimension five operator mediated proton decay in Susy GUTs by allowing explicit and complete calculation of crucial threshold effects at $M_{Susy}$ and $M_{GUT}$ in terms of fundamental parameters. This shows that SO(10) Yukawas responsibl…
Recent null results from LHC8 SUSY searches along with the discovery of a SM-like Higgs boson with mass m(h) ~ 125.5 GeV indicates sparticle masses in the TeV range, causing tension with conventional measures of electroweak fine-tuning. We propose a simple Fine-tuning Rule which should be followed under any credible evaluation of fine-tuning. We believe that overestimates of electroweak fine-tuning by conventional measures all arise from violations of this rule. We show that to gain accord with the Fine-tuning Rule, then both Higgs mass and the traditional Δ_{BG} fine-tuning measures reduce to…
Collider signals of heavy Majorana neutrino mass origin are studied in the minimal Left-Right symmetric model, where their mass is generated spontaneously together with the breaking of lepton number. The right-handed triplet Higgs boson $Δ$, responsible for such breaking, can be copiously produced at the LHC through the Higgs portal in the gluon fusion and less so in gauge mediated channels. At $Δ$ masses below the opening of the $VV$ decay channel, the two observable modes are pair-production of heavy neutrinos via the triplet gluon fusion $gg \to Δ\to NN$ and pair production of triplets from…
Motivated by the recent PAMELA and ATIC data, one is led to a scenario with heavy vector-like dark matter in association with a hidden $U(1)_X$ sector below GeV scale. Realizing this idea in the context of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB), a heavy scalar component charged under $U(1)_X$ is found to be a good dark matter candidate which can be searched for direct scattering mediated by the Higgs boson and/or by the hidden gauge boson. The latter turns out to put a stringent bound on the kinetic mixing parameter between $U(1)_X$ and $U(1)_Y$: $θ\lesssim 10^{-6}$. For the typical rang…
Recently, both the ATLAS and CMS experiments have observed an excess of events that could be the first evidence for a 125 GeV Higgs boson. We investigate an implication of the CP-even Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV in the context of the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (mGMSB). In mGMSB, gravitino is the lightest sparticle (LSP) and hence the dark matter candidate. We consider the so-called superWIMP scenario where the dark matter gravitino is non-thermally produced by the decay of the next-to-LSP (NLSP) bino-like neutralino after its freeze-out. For a given $\tan β$ and the…
Supersymmetric phenomenology has been largely bound to the hypothesis that supersymmetry breaking originates from a single source. In this paper, we relax this underlying assumption and consider a multiplicity of sectors which independently break supersymmetry, thus yielding a corresponding multiplicity of goldstini. While one linear combination of goldstini is eaten via the super-Higgs mechanism, the orthogonal combinations remain in the spectrum as physical degrees of freedom. Interestingly, supergravity effects induce a universal tree-level mass for the goldstini which is exactly twice the …
