The non-linear evolution of spin-electron acoustic, positron-acoustic, and spin-electron-positron acoustic waves is considered. It is demonstrated that weakly nonlinear dynamics of each wave leads to the soliton formation. Altogether, we report on existence of three different solitons. The spin-electron acoustic soliton known for electron-ion plasmas is described for electron-positron-ion plasmas for the first time. The existence of the spin-electron-positron acoustic soliton is reported for the first time. The positron-acoustic soliton and the spin-electron-positron acoustic soliton arise as the areas of a positive electric potential. The spin-electron acoustic soliton behaves as the area of a negative electric potential at the relatively small positron imbalance $n_{0p}/n_{0e}=0.1$ and as the area of a positive electric potential at the relatively large positron imbalance $n_{0p}/n_{0e}=0.5$.
The propagation of arbitrary amplitude ion-acoustic (IA) solitary waves (SWs) is studied in unmagnetized, collisionless, homogeneous electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasmas with finite temperature degeneracy of both electrons and positrons. Starting from a set of fluid equations for classical ions and Fermi-Dirac distribution for degenerate electrons and positrons, a linear dispersion relation for IA waves is derived. It is seen that the wave dispersion is significantly modified due to the presence of positron species and the effects of finite temperature degeneracy of electrons and positrons. I…
For degenerate astrophysical electron-positron plasmas we have considered dynamics of electromagnetic beams carrying angular momentum. It is found for arbitrary level of degeneracy such a beam having the power exceeding a certain critical value breaks up into many filaments, eventually leading to the formation of stable spatial solitons keeping zero field in the center of the structure.
We derive a nonlinear equation governing dynamics of short-wavelength longitudinal waves in ultrarelativistic electron-positron-ion plasmas. In contrast to the recent work by Lashkin [Phys. Plasmas {\textbf{27}}, 102302 (2020)], where a similar equation was suggested in the framework of the Wigner function approach for a nonrelativistic electron-ion degenerate plasma, in our case which is based on the Vlasov kinetic equation all three species of particles (electrons, positrons and ions) should be present. The nonlinearity arises only in the presence of a population of ions. By numerical simula…
A theoretical investigation has been carried out on the propagation of nonlinear ion-acoustic shock waves (IASHWs) in a collsionless magnetized degenerate quantum plasma system composed of inertial non-relativistic positively charged light and heavy ions, inertialess ultra-relativistically degenerate electrons and positrons. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to drive the Burgers' equation. It has been observed that under consideration, our plasma model supports only positive potential shock structure. It is also found that the amplitude and steepness of the IASHWs have been s…
Particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations of collisionless jets of electrons and positrons in an ambient electron-proton plasma have revealed an acceleration of positrons at the expense of electron kinetic energy. The dominant instability within the jet was a filamentation instability between electrons, protons and positrons. In this work we show that a filamentation instability, between an initially unmagnetized ambient electron-proton plasma at rest and a beam of pair plasma that moves through it at a non-relativistic speed, indeed results in preferential positron acceleration. Filaments form that …
Separated spin-up and spin-down evolution of degenerated electrons in two dimensional systems: Dispersion of longitudinal collective excitations in plane and nanotube geometry
This paper studies the interaction of laser-driven $γ$-photons and high energy charged particles with high-Z targets through Monte-Carlo simulations. The interacting particles are taken from particle-in-cell simulations of the interaction of a tightly-focused ultraintense laser pulse with a titanium target. Lead is chosen as the secondary high-Z target owing to its high cross section of the giant dipole resonance and electron-positron pair production. The results reveal an ultra-short ultra-relativistic collimated positron population and their energy spectra, angular distribution, and temporal…
