We study several aspects of supersymmetric models with a $U(1)_R$ symmetry where the Higgs doublet is identified with the superpartner of a lepton. We derive new, stronger bounds on the gaugino masses based on current measurements, and also propose ways to probe the model up to scales of $\mathcal{O}(10\, \textrm{TeV})$ at future $e^+e^-$ colliders. Since the $U(1)_R$ symmetry cannot be exact, we analyze the effects of $R$-symmetry breaking on neutrino masses and proton decay. In particular, we find that getting the neutrino mixing angles to agree with experiments in a minimal model requires a UV cutoff for the theory at around $ 10 \text{ TeV} $.
We consider a scenario where light bino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) and gravitino/axino is the lightest superysmmetric particle (LSP). For a bino mass less than or around hundred GeV, it can be pair produced at the future lepton colliders through $t-$channel slepton exchange, subsequently decaying into a gravitino/axino plus a photon. We study the prospects to look for such binos at the future colliders and find that a bino mass around 100 GeV can be probed at the $2σ$ ($5σ$) level for a slepton below 2 TeV (1.5 TeV) with a luminosity 3 $ab^{-1}$. For a bino mass aro…
We consider a Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model scenario in which the only light superparticles are a bino-like dark matter candidate and a nearly-degenerate slepton. It is notoriously difficult to probe this scenario at the Large Hadron Collider, because the slepton pair-production process yields a final state with soft leptons and small missing transverse energy. We study this scenario in the region of parameter space where the mass difference between the lightest neutralino and the lightest slepton ($Δm$) is $\lesssim 60~{\rm GeV}$, focusing on the process in which an additional radiate…
We discuss how the intensity and the energy frontiers provide complementary constraints within a minimal model of neutrino mass involving just one new field beyond the Standard Model at accessible energy, namely a doubly charged scalar $S^{++}$ and its antiparticle $S^{--}$. In particular we focus on the complementarity between high-energy LHC searches and low-energy probes such as lepton flavor violation. Our setting is a prime example of how high- and low-energy physics can cross-fertilize each other.
We propose a search strategy using the LHC as a photon collider to open sensitivity to scalar lepton (slepton $\tilde{\ell}$) production with masses around 15 to 60 GeV above that of neutralino dark matter $\tildeχ^0_1$. This region is favored by relic abundance and muon $(g-2)_μ$ arguments. However, conventional searches are hindered by the irreducible diboson background. We overcome this obstruction by measuring initial state kinematics and the missing momentum four-vector in proton-tagged ultraperipheral collisions using forward detectors. We demonstrate sensitivity beyond LEP for slepton m…
Motivated by recent results from the LHCb, BABAR and Belle collaborations on B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays, which significantly deviate from the Standard Model and hint the possible new physics beyond the Standard Model, we probe the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in B^-_c\to \ell^-\barν_\ell and B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays. We find that (i) \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\to e^- \barν_e) and \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\toμ^-\barν_μ) are sensitive to the constrained slepton exchange couplings; (ii) the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of B\to De^-\barν_{e} decays have been greatly affe…
The Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) can be extended to include non-holomorphic trilinear soft supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking interactions that may have distinct signatures. We consider non-vanishing off-diagonal entries of the coupling matrices associated with holomorphic (of MSSM) and non-holomorphic trilinear terms corresponding to sleptons with elements $A^l_{ij}$ and $A^{\prime l}_{ij}$. We first improve the MSSM charge breaking minima condition of the vacuum to include the off-diagonal entries $A^l_{ij}$ (with $i \neq j$). We further extend this analysis for non-holomorphic tr…
We explore the ability of current and future dark matter and collider experiments in probing anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)_μ$, within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We find that the latest PandaX-II/LUX-2016 data gives a strong constraint on parameter space that accommodates the $(g-2)_μ$ within $2σ$ range, which will be further excluded by the upcoming XENON-1T (2017) experiment. We also find that a 100 TeV $pp$ collider can cover most of our surviving samples that satisfy DM relic density within $3σ$ range through $Z$ or $h$ resonant effect by searching for…
Cosmological relaxation of the electroweak scale is an attractive scenario addressing the gauge hierarchy problem. Its main actor, the relaxion, is a light spin-zero field which dynamically relaxes the Higgs mass with respect to its natural large value. We show that the relaxion is generically stabilized at a special position in the field space, which leads to suppression of its mass and potentially unnatural values for the model's effective low-energy couplings. In particular, we find that the relaxion mixing with the Higgs can be several orders of magnitude above its naive naturalness bound.…
The current understanding of dark matter comes largely from measurements of the total matter content in the universe, from the distribution of gravitating matter on very large scales, and from rotation curves and velocity dispersions on sub-galactic scales. However, small-scale structure may well hold the key to unlocking the particle physics of the still-mysterious 85% of matter in the universe. Novel small-scale astrophysical probes of new particles and dark matter will become possible with a large data volume of high-precision measurements enabled by next-generation gravitational-wave detec…
We show that the longitudinal beam polarization option at a future electron-positron collider provides an unambiguous distinction between low-scale seesaw models of neutrino mass. This is possible due to the fact that the pair production cross section of the heavy neutrinos in seesaw models is sensitive to the polarization of the initial lepton beams, and for a suitable choice of the polarization, shows a clear enhancement over the unpolarized cross section. More interestingly, the choice of the beam polarization for which the enhancement is maximum is governed by the size of the light-heavy n…
Motivated by recent $R_D$, $R_{D^*}$ and $R_{J/ψ}$ anomalies in $B\to D\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$, $B\to D^*\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ and $B_c\to J/ψ\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays, respectively, we study possible R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in $B_c\to J/ψ\ell^- \barν_{\ell},η_c\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ and $Λ_b \to Λ_c \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays, which are also induced by $b\to c \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ at quark level. We find that (I) the constrained slepton exchange couplings $λ_{i33}\tildeλ'^*_{i23}$ involving in $b\to c τ^- \barν_τ$ transition from relevant latest experimental data still have qui…
We propose a novel approach to probe new fundamental interactions using isotope shift spectroscopy in atomic clock transitions. As concrete toy example we focus on the Higgs boson couplings to the building blocks of matter: the electron and the up and down quarks. We show that the attractive Higgs force between nuclei and their bound electrons, that is poorly constrained, might induce effects that are larger than the current experimental sensitivities. More generically, we discuss how new interactions between the electron and the neutrons, mediated via light new degrees of freedom, may lead to…
We derive bounds on squark and slepton masses in mini-split supersymmetry scenario using low energy experiments. In this setup gauginos are at the TeV scale, while sfermions are heavier by a loop factor. We cover the most sensitive low energy probes including electric dipole moments (EDMs), meson oscillations and charged lepton flavor violation (LFV) transitions. A leading log resummation of the large logs of gluino to sfermion mass ratio is performed. A sensitivity to PeV squark masses is obtained at present from kaon mixing measurements. A number of observables, including neutron EDMs, mu->e…
We study the prospects for probing a gauge singlet scalar-driven strong first order electroweak phase transition with a future proton-proton collider in the 100 TeV range. Singlet-Higgs mixing enables resonantly-enhanced di-Higgs production, potentially aiding discovery prospects. We perform Monte Carlo scans of the parameter space to identify regions associated with a strong first-order electroweak phase transition, analyze the corresponding di-Higgs signal, and select a set of benchmark points that span the range of di-Higgs signal strengths. For the $b\bar{b}γγ$ and $4τ$ final states, we in…
MATHUSLA is a proposed surface detector at CERN that would be able to observe the decays of non-hadronic electrically neutral long-lived particles (LLPs) with almost no background or trigger limitations. This would allow MATHUSLA to probe sub-GeV to TeV masses and lifetimes up to $cτ\sim 10^7~{\rm m}$. MATHUSLA can play an important role in probing dark-matter scenarios involving extended hidden sectors, where additional dark states often manifest as LLPs. A prime example of such a scenario is furnished by the Dynamical Dark Matter (DDM) framework, which intrinsically gives rise to large ensem…

The ANITA balloon experiment has observed two EeV-energy, upgoing events originating from well below the horizon. This is puzzling, because (i) no Standard Model (SM) particle is expected to survive passage through Earth at such energies and incident angles, and (ii) no such events were reported by IceCube. In this paper, we address both these issues by invoking a beyond SM interpretation of the EeV events as due to the decay of a long-lived bino in the R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetry. In particular, a TeV-scale slepton/squark can be resonantly produced through the interaction of the Ee…
Naturalness Priors and Fits to the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model
