In this paper, we consider the distributed robust filtering problem, where estimator design is based on a set of coupled linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). We separate the problem and show that the method of multipliers can be applied to obtain a solution efficiently and in a decentralized fashion, i.e. all local estimators can compute their filter gains locally and iteratively, with communications restricted to their neighbours. The convergence properties of the iterative algorithm are analyzed and interpreted.
This paper investigates the H2 and H-infinity suboptimal distributed filtering problems for continuous time linear systems. Consider a linear system monitored by a number of filters, where each of the filters receives only part of the measured output of the system. Each filter can communicate with the other filters according to an a priori given strongly connected weighted directed graph. The aim is to design filter gains that guarantee the H2 or H-infinity norm of the transfer matrix from the disturbance input to the output estimation error to be smaller than an a priori given upper bound, wh…
H-infinity filter has been widely applied in engineering field, but copping with bounded noise is still an open problem and difficult to solve. This paper considers the H-infinity filtering problem for linear system with bounded process and measurement noise. The problem is first formulated as a zero-sum game where the dynamic of estimation error is non-affine with respect to filter gain and measurement noise. A nonquadratic Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equation is then derived by employing a nonquadratic cost to characterize bounded noise, which is extremely difficult to solve due to its non-…
This article targets at addressing the robust prescribed-time coordination control (PTCC) problems for single-integrator cooperative-antagonistic networks (CANs) with external disturbances under arbitrary fixed signed digraphs without any structural constraints. Toward this end, the PTCC problems for nominal single-integrator CANs without disturbances are first investigated and a fully distributed control protocol with a time-varying gain, which grows to infinity as the time approaches the settling time, is proposed utilizing the relative states of neighboring agents. Then, based on the propos…

A network of observers is considered, where through asynchronous (with bounded delay) communications, they cooperatively estimate the states of a Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) system. In such a setting, a new type of adversary might affect the observation process by impersonating the identity of the regular node, which is a violation of communication authenticity. These adversaries also inherit the capabilities of Byzantine nodes, making them more powerful threats called smart spoofers. We show how asynchronous networks are vulnerable to smart spoofing attack. In the estimation scheme considered…
This article proposes the design of H-infinity-based robust current controller for single-phase grid-feeding voltage source inverter with an LCL filter. The main objective of the proposed controller is to have good reference tracking, disturbance rejection and sufficient LCL resonance damping under a large range of variations of grid impedance. Based on the aforementioned performance requirements, frequency dependent weighting functions are designed. Subsequently, the sub-optimal control problem is formulated and solved to determine the stabilizing controller. Computational footprint of the co…

We present a new approach to the cooperative localisation problem by applying the theory of minimum energy filtering. We consider the problem of estimating the pose of a group of mobile robots in an environment where robots can perceive fixed landmarks and neighbouring robots as well as share information with others over a communication channel. Whereas the vast majority of the existing literature applies some variant of a Kalman Filter, we derive a set of filter equations for the global state estimate based on the principle of minimum energy filtering. We show how the filter equations can be …
