In the previous paper by Asakura-Otsubo-Terasoma, we prove that the special values of the hypergeometric function 3F2 at 1 are linear combinations of logarithms of algebraic numbers and 1 over algebraic numbers, if exponents are rational numbers satisfying a certain arithmetic condition. Aoki and Shioda completely classified these sets of rational numbers satisfying this condition in connection with Hodge cycles on Fermat surfaces. In this paper, we give an explicit expression of special values of hypergoemetricy 3F2 which does not belong to exceptional characters.

On the regulator of Fermat motives and generalized hypergeometric functions

We calculate the Beilinson regulators of motives associated to Fermat curves and express them by special values of generalized hypergeometric functions. As a result, we obtain surjectivity results of the regulator, which support the Beilinson conjecture on special values of L-functions.

On the Abel-Jacobi maps of Fermat Jacobians

We study the Abel-Jacobi image of the Ceresa cycle W_k-W_k^-, where W_k is the image of the k-th symmetric product of a curve X on its Jacobian variety. For the Fermat curve of degree N, we express it in terms of special values of generalized hypergeometric functions and give a criterion for the non-vanishing of W_k-W_k^- modulo algebraic equivalence, which is verified numerically for some N and k.

We present a detailed study of the generalized hypergeometric system introduced by Gel'fand, Kapranov and Zelevinski (GKZ-hypergeometric system) in the context of toric geometry. GKZ systems arise naturally in the moduli theory of Calabi-Yau toric varieties, and play an important role in applications of the mirror symmetry.
