We present an example of an infinite dimensional separable space of affine continuous functions on a Choquet simplex that does not contain a subspace linearly isometric to $c$. Is it possible to determine a point lying in a simplex if we know the distances from the vertices?

It is an elementary fact that if we fix an arbitrary set of $d+1$ affine independent points $\{p_0,\dots p_d\}$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$, then the Euclidean distances $\{|x-p_j|\}_{j=0}^d$ determine the point $x$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$ uniquely. In this paper we investigate a similar problem in general normed spaces which is motivated by this known fact. Order preserving quotient lifting properties

In this paper we formulate order preserving quotient lifting property and the compact lifting property. In the case of affine continuous functions on a Choquet simplex, we show the compact quotient lifting property for the space of affine continuous functions and those vanishing on a metrizable face.

Weak$^*$ fixed point property and the space of affine functions

First we prove that if a separable Banach space $X$ contains an isometric copy of an infinite-dimensional space $A(S)$ of affine continuous functions on a Choquet simplex $S$, then its dual $X^*$ lacks the weak$^*$ fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings. Then, we show that the dual of a separable Lindenstrauss space $X$ fails the weak$^*$ fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings if and only if $X$ has a quotient isometric to some space $A(S)$. Zhang's inequality for log-concave functions

Zhang's reverse affine isoperimetric inequality states that among all convex bodies $K\subseteq\mathbb{R}^n$, the affine invariant quantity $|K|^{n-1}|Π^*(K)|$ (where $Π^*(K)$ denotes the polar projection body of $K$) is minimized if and only if $K$ is a simplex. In this paper we prove an extension of Zhang's inequality in the setting of integrable log-concave functions, characterizing also the equality cases.

Linear Selections of Superlinear Set-Valued Maps with some Applications to Analysis

A. Ya. Zaslavskii's results on the existence of a linear (affine) selection for a linear (affine) or superlinear (convex) map $Φ: K \to 2^Y$ defined on a convex cone (convex set) $K$ having the interpolation property are extended. We prove that they hold true under more general conditions on the values of the mapping and study some other properties of the selections. A note on two Conjectures on Dimension funcitons of $C^{*}$-algebras

\noindent Let $A$ be an arbitrary $C^*$ algebra. In \cite{BH} Blackadar and Handelman conjectured the set of lower semicontinuous dimension functions on $A$ to be pointwise dense in the set $DF(A)$ of all dimension functions on $A$ and $DF(A)$ to be a Choquet simplex. We provide an equivalent condition for the first conjecture for unital $A$. A simplicial polytope that maximizes the isotropic constant must be a simplex

The isotropic constant $L_K$ is an affine-invariant measure of the spread of a convex body $K$. For a $d$-dimensional convex body $K$, $L_K$ can be defined by $L_K^{2d} = \det(A(K))/(\mathrm{vol}(K))^2$, where $A(K)$ is the covariance matrix of the uniform distribution on $K$.
