A simple renormalization flow for FK-percolation models

We present a setup that enables to define in a concrete way a renormalization flow for the FK-percolation models from statistical physics (that are closely related to Ising and Potts models). In this setting that is applicable in any dimension of space, one can interpret perturbations of the critical (conjectural) scaling limits in terms of stationary distributions for rather simple Markov processes on spaces of abstract discrete weighted graphs.

By adapting the renormalization techniques of Pisztora, we establish surface order large deviations estimates for FK-percolation on $\Z^2$ with parameter $q\geq 1$ and for the corresponding Potts models. Our results are valid up to the exponential decay threshold of dual connectivities which is widely believed to agree with the critical point.

We consider the standard first passage percolation model on Z^d with a distribution G on R+ that admits an exponential moment. We study the maximal flow between a compact convex subset A of R^d and infinity. The study of maximal flow is associated with the study of sets of edges of minimal capacity that cut A from infinity. Lower large deviations for the maximal flow through tilted cylinders in two-dimensional first passage percolation

Equip the edges of the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^2$ with i.i.d. random capacities. A law of large numbers is known for the maximal flow crossing a rectangle in $\mathbb{R}^2$ when the side lengths of the rectangle go to infinity. We prove that the lower large deviations are of surface order, and we prove the corresponding large deviation principle from below. This extends and improves previous large deviations results of Grimmett and Kesten (1984) obtained for boxes of particular orientation.

Law of large numbers for the maximal flow through tilted cylinders in two-dimensional first passage percolation

Equip the edges of the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^2$ with i.i.d. random capacities. We prove a law of large numbers for the maximal flow crossing a rectangle in $\mathbb{R}^2$ when the side lengths of the rectangle go to infinity. The value of the limit depends on the asymptotic behaviour of the ratio of the height of the cylinder over the length of its basis. This law of large numbers extends the law of large numbers obtained by Grimmett and Kesten (1984) for rectangles of particular orientation.

Percolation in an ultrametric space

We study percolation on the hierarchical lattice of order $N$ where the probability of connection between two points separated by distance $k$ is of the form $c_k/N^{k(1+δ)},\; δ>-1$. Since the distance is an ultrametric, there are significant differences with percolation on the Euclidean lattice. We study existence of percolation in the hierarchical group of order $N$, which is an ultrametric space, and transience and recurrence of random walks on the percolation clusters.
