Higgs signatures from the cascade decays of light stops are an interesting possibility in the next to minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). We investigate the potential reach of the light stop mass at the 13 TeV run of the LHC by means of five NMSSM benchmark points where this signature is dominant. These benchmark points are compatible with current Higgs coupling measurements, LHC constraints, dark matter relic density and direct detection constraints. We consider single and di-lepton search strategies, as well as the jet-substructure technique to reconstruct the Higgs bosons. We find that one can probe stop masses up to 1.2 TeV with 300 $\rm fb^{-1}$ luminosity via the di-lepton channel, while with the jet-substructure method, stop masses up to 1 TeV can be probed with 300 $\rm fb^{-1}$ luminosity. We also investigate the possibility of the appearance of multiple Higgs peaks over the background in the fat-jet mass distribution, and conclude that such a possibility is viable only at the high luminosity run of 13 TeV LHC.
We compute the full next-to-leading order supersymmetric (SUSY) electroweak (EW) and SUSY-QCD corrections to the decays of CP-odd NMSSM Higgs bosons into stop pairs. In our numerical analysis we also present the decay of the heavier stop into the lighter stop and an NMSSM CP-odd Higgs boson. Both the EW and the SUSY-QCD corrections are found to be significant and have to be taken into account for a proper prediction of the decay widths.
We study the generic NMSSM with the coupling λS H_1 H_2 at the limit of perturbativity, λ~0.7-0.8, and a moderate stop mass, m_{\tilde{t}} < 300 GeV. Respecting the LEP2 bounds and insisting on naturalness, we delimit the allowed region of parameter space and we study the spectrum and phenomenology of the relatively light new particles.
We study unconventional signatures of the NMSSM (the MSSM with an additional gauge singlet) with a singlino LSP. Compared to sparticle production processes in the MSSM, these consist in additional cascades (one or two additional l+ l-, tau+ tau- or b bbar pairs or photons), possibly with macroscopically displaced vertices with distances varying from millimeters to several meters.
In this work, we study the constraints on the scenario of light stops and sbottoms in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM), especially by a 125 GeV Higgs boson discovery and the LHC bounds on supersymmetry. The constraints from dark matter detections are also taken into account. From the parameter scan, we find that the NMSSM can well accommodate a light Higgs boson around 125 GeV and decay patterns. We would like to stress that the LHC direct supersymmetry searches with b-tagging are very powerful and can set strong bounds on many NMSSM parameter points with light stops a…
An interesting feature of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) is that one or more Higgs bosons may be comparably light (M_{H_i}<M_Z) without being in conflict with current experimental bounds. Due to a large singlet component, their direct production in standard channels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is suppressed. We demonstrate that there are good prospects for observing such a light Higgs boson in decays of heavy neutralinos and charginos. We consider an example scenario with 20 GeV < M_{H_1} < M_Z and show that a large fraction of the cascade decays of gluinos an…
In the framework of the NMSSM with a singlino-like LSP, we study quantitatively the impact of the additional bino -> singlino cascade on the efficiencies in several search channels for supersymmetry of the ATLAS and CMS collaborations. Compared to the MSSM, the additional cascade reduces the missing transverse energy, but leads to additional jets or leptons. For the NMSSM benchmark lines which generalize cMSSM benchmark points, the efficiencies in the most relevant 2/3 jet + missing energy search channels can drop by factors ~1/3 to ~1/7, and can reduce the present lower bounds on M_{1/2} by a…
We present a comparative and systematic study of the fine tuning in Higgs sectors in three scale-invariant NMSSM models: the first being the standard $Z_3$-invariant NMSSM; the second is the NMSSM plus additional matter filling $3(5+\bar{5})$ representations of SU(5) and is called the NMSSM+; while the third model comprises $4(5+\bar{5})$ and is called the NMSSM++. Naively, one would expect the fine tuning in the plus-type models to be smaller than that in the NMSSM since the presence of extra matter relaxes the perturbativity bound on $λ$ at the low scale. This, in turn, allows larger tree-le…
We study the viability of having two relatively light top squarks (`stops') in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). Such light stops render the NMSSM rather `natural'. These are shown to be allowed by the relevant direct searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and to be compatible with the latest LHC results on the Higgs sector, other low energy electroweak constraints and recent constraints from the dark matter (DM) sector. We propose dedicated searches for such light stops at the LHC within a `simplified' scenario that may have a bino-like or a sing…
We study the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model with the TeV scale mirage mediation. The 125 GeV Higgs boson mass is realized with O(10)% tuning for 1.5 TeV gluino and 1TeV stop masses.
We provide the two-loop corrections to the Higgs boson masses of the CP-violating NMSSM in the Feynman diagrammatic approach with vanishing external momentum at ${\cal O} (α_t α_s)$. The adopted renormalization scheme is a mixture between $\overline{\text{DR}}$ and on-shell conditions. Additionally, the renormalization of the top/stop sector is provided both for the $\overline{\text{DR}}$ and the on-shell scheme. The calculation is performed in the gaugeless limit. We find that the two-loop corrections compared to the one-loop corrections are of the order of 5-10\%, depending on the top/stop r…
A consistent interpretation of the Higgs data requires the same precision in the Higgs boson masses and in the trilinear Higgs self-couplings, which are related through their common origin from the Higgs potential. In this work we provide the two-loop corrections at order ${\cal O}(α_t α_s)$ in the approximation of vanishing external momenta to the trilinear Higgs self-couplings in the CP-violating Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM). In the top/stop sector two different renormalization schemes have been implemented, the OS and the $\overline{\text{DR}}$ sche…
We examine the use of modified Higgs sectors to address the little hierarchy problem of supersymmetry. Such models reduce weak-scale fine-tuning by allowing lighter stops, but they retain some fine-tuning independent of the Higgs. The modified Higgs sector can also introduce model-dependent tunings. We consider the model-independent constraints on naturalness from squark, gluino, chargino and neutralino searches, as well as the model-dependent tuning in the PQ- and R-symmetric limits of the NMSSM, where cascade decays or additional quartic interactions can hide a Higgs without relying on heavy…
The recent LHC discovery of a Higgs-like resonance at 126 GeV suggests that the minimal supersymmetric standard model must be modified in order to preserve naturalness. A simple extension is to include a singlet superfield and consider the scale-invariant NMSSM, whose renormalizable superpotential contains no dimensionful parameters. This extension not only solves the μ-problem, but can easily accommodate a 126 GeV Higgs. We study the naturalness of the scale-invariant NMSSM taking into account the recent constraints from LHC searches, flavor physics and electroweak precision tests. We show th…
We investigate how the addition of the singlet Higgs field in the NMSSM changes the sfermion branching ratios as compared to the MSSM. We concentrate in particular on the third generation, discussing decays of the heavier stop, sbottom or stau into the lighter mass eigenstate plus a scalar or pseudoscalar singlet Higgs. We also analyse stop, sbottom and stau decays into singlinos. It turns out that the branching ratios of these decays can be large, markedly influencing the sfermion phenomenology in the NMSSM. Moreover, we consider decays of first and second generation sfermions into singlinos.
We present our calculation of the two-loop corrections of ${\cal O}(α_t^2)$ to the neutral Higgs boson masses of the CP-violating Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM). The calculation is performed in the Feynman diagrammatic approach in the gaugeless limit at vanishing external momentum. We apply a mixed $\overline{\mathrm{DR}}$-on-shell (OS) renormalization scheme for the NMSSM input parameters. Furthermore, we exploit a $\overline{\mathrm{DR}}$ as well as an OS renormalization in the top/stop sector. The corrections are implemented in the Fortran code NMSSMC…
Relatively light stops in gauge mediation models are usually made compatible with the Higgs mass of 125 GeV by introducing direct Higgs-messenger couplings. We show that such couplings are not necessary in a simple and predictive model that combines minimal gauge mediation and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). We show that one can obtain a 125 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs boson with stops as light as 1.1 TeV, thanks to the mixing of the Higgs with a singlet state at ${\cal O}(90-100)$ GeV that can explain the LEP excess. In this scenario the singlet-higgs-higgs superf…
Can supersymmetric models with a moderate stop mass be made consistent with the negative Higgs boson searches at LEP, while keeping perturbative unification manifest? The NMSSM achieves this rather easily, but only if extra matter multiplets filling complete SU(5) representations are present at intermediate energies. As a concrete example which makes use of this feature, we give an analytic description of the phenomenology of a constrained NMSSM close to a Peccei-Quinn symmetry point. The related pseudo-Goldstone boson appears in decays of the Higgs bosons and possibly of the lightest neutrali…
The next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) naturally provides a 125 GeV Higgs boson without the need for large loop corrections from multi-TeV stop quarks. Furthermore, the NMSSM provides an electroweak scale dark matter candidate consistent with all experimental data, like relic density and non-observation of direct dark matter signals with the present experimental sensitivity. However, more free parameters are introduced in the NMSSM, which are strongly correlated. A simple parameter scan without knowing the correlation matrix is not efficient and can miss significant regions …
We study the phenomenology of Higgs bosons close to 126 GeV within the scale invariant unconstrained next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), focusing on the regions of parameter space favoured by low fine-tuning considerations, namely stop masses of order 400 GeV to 1 TeV and an effective $μ$ parameter between 100-200 GeV, with large (but perturbative) $λ$ and low $\tan β=$2-4. We perform scans over the above parameter space, focusing on the observable Higgs cross sections into $γγ$, $WW$, $ZZ$, $bb$, $ττ$ final states, and study the correlations between these observables. We sh…
We study the Higgs phenomenology in the Peccei-Quinn invariant NMSSM (PQ-NMSSM) where the low energy mass parameters of the singlet superfield are induced by a spontaneous breakdown of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry. In the generic NMSSM, scalar mixing among CP-even Higgs bosons is constrained by the observed properties of the SM-like Higgs boson, as well as by the LEP bound on the chargino mass and the perturbativity bound on the singlet Yukawa coupling. In the minimal PQ-NMSSM, scalar mixing is further constrained due to the presence of a light singlino-like neutralino. It is noticed that the $2σ…
We consider extensions of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) in which the observed neutrino masses are generated through a TeV scale inverse seesaw mechanism. The new particles associated with this mechanism can have sizable couplings to the Higgs field which can yield a large contribution to the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson. With this new contribution, a 126 GeV Higgs is possible along with order of 200 GeV masses for the stop quarks for a broad range of \tanβ. The Higgs production and decay in the diphoton channel can be enhanced due to this new contribution. It is …
We examine scenarios in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), where pair-produced squarks and gluinos decay via two cascades, each ending in a stable neutralino as Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) and a Standard Model (SM)-like Higgs boson, with mass spectra such that the missing transverse energy, $E_{T}^{\text{miss}}$, is very small. Performing two-dimensional parameter scans and focusing on the hadronic $H\rightarrow b\bar{b}$ decay giving a $b\bar{b}b\bar{b} + E_{T}^{\text{miss}}$ final state we explore the sensitivity of a current LHC general-purpose jets+$E_{T}…
The recent LHC indications of a SM-like Higgs boson near 125 GeV are consistent not only with the Standard Model (SM) but also with Supersymmetry (SUSY). However naturalness arguments disfavour the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We consider the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with a SM-like Higgs boson near 125 GeV involving relatively light stops and gluinos below 1 TeV in order to satisfy naturalness requirements. We are careful to ensure that the chosen values of couplings do not become non perturbative below the grand unification (GUT) scale, although w…
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is an attractive extension of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics which solves the SM hierarchy problem. Motivated by the theoretical $μ$-term problem of the Minimal Supersymmetric Model (MSSM), the Next-to MSSM (NMSSM) can also account for experimental deviations from the SM like the anomalous muon magnetic moment and the dark matter relic density. Natural SUSY, motivated by naturalness considerations, exhibits small fine tuning and a characteristic phenomenology with light higgsinos, stops and gluinos. We describe a scan in NMSSM parameter space motivated by Natu…
A detection at the Large Hadron Collider of a light Higgs pseudoscalar would, if interpreted in a supersymmetric framework, be a smoking gun signature of non-minimal supersymmetry. In this work in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model we focus on vector boson fusion and Higgs-strahlung production of heavier scalars that subsequently decay into pairs of light pseudoscalars. We demonstrate that although these channels have in general very limited reach, they are viable for the detection of light pseudoscalars in some parts of parameter space and can serve as an impor…
We study the NMSSM with universal Susy breaking terms (besides the Higgs sector) at the GUT scale. Within this constrained parameter space, it is not difficult to find a Higgs boson with a mass of about 125 GeV and an enhanced cross section in the diphoton channel. An additional lighter Higgs boson with reduced couplings and a mass <123 GeV is potentially observable at the LHC. The NMSSM-specific Yukawa couplings lambda and kappa are relatively large and tan(beta) is small, such that lambda, kappa and the top Yukawa coupling are of order 1 at the GUT scale. The lightest stop can be as light as…
It is pointed out that mixing effects in the CP-even scalar sector of the NMSSM can give 6-8 GeV correction to the SM-like Higgs mass in moderate or large $\tanβ$ regions with a small value of the singlet-higgs-higgs superfields coupling $λ\sim\mathcal{O}(0.1)$. This effect comes mainly from the mixing of the SM-like Higgs with lighter singlet. In the same parameter range, the mixing of the heavy doublet Higgs with the singlet may strongly modify the couplings of the singlet-like and the 125 GeV scalars. Firstly, the LEP bounds on a light singlet can be evaded for a large range of its masses. …
The natural supersymmetry (SUSY) requires that stop, sbottom, and gluino be around one TeV or lighter. By using the direct SUSY search bounds from both ATLAS and CMS Collaborations, we examine the constraints on the natural SUSY in the Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We consider two cases of interpretations for the Higgs boson data: (1) the Standard Model (SM) like Higgs boson is the lightest CP-even Higgs boson; (2) the SM like Higgs boson is the second lightest CP-even Higgs boson. We find that the direct SUSY searches at the LHC impose a strong constraint on the light…
The Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with a Higgs-singlet coupling λ close to unity, moderate tan β and stop masses below 1 TeV minimizes the fine tuning of the electroweak scale, making possible that the lightest new particles, except perhaps for the LSP, be part of the extended Higgs system. We show how the measurements of the couplings of the 126 GeV Higgs boson constrain the region of the physical parameters of a generic NMSSM most relevant to this context. In the same region of parameter space we determine the cross section for the production of a heavier CP-even scal…
In the presence of a light singlino-like LSP in the NMSSM, the missing transverse energy - MET - signature of squark/gluino production can be considerably reduced. Instead, a pair of Higgs bosons is produced in each event. We propose benchmark points for such scenarios, which differ in the squark and gluino masses, and in their decay cascades. Events for these points are simulated for the run II of the LHC at 13 TeV centre of mass energy. After cuts on the transverse momenta of at least four jets, and requiring two tau-leptons from one Higgs decay, we find that the invariant mass of two b-jets…
A light singlino in the NMSSM can reduce considerably the missing transverse energy at the end of sparticle decay cascades; instead, light NMSSM-specific Higgs bosons can be produced. Such scenarios can be consistent with present constraints from the LHC with all sparticle masses below ~1 TeV. We discuss search strategies, which do not rely on missing transverse energy, for such scenarios at the next run of the LHC near 14 TeV.
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), the singlet extension of the MSSM which fixes many of the MSSM's shortcomings, is shown to be within reach of the upcoming runs of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). A systematic treatment of the various Higgs decay channels and their interplay has been lacking due to the seemingly large number of free parameters in the NMSSM's Higgs sector. We demonstrate that due to the SM-like nature of the observed Higgs boson, the NMSSM's Higgs and neutralino sectors have highly correlated masses and couplings and can effectively be described by fou…
In this work, we present mass limits on gluinos and stops in a natural Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with a singlino as the lightest supersymmetric particle. Motivated by naturalness, we consider spectra with light higgsinos, sub-TeV third generation sparticles and gluinos well below the multi-TeV regime while the electroweak gauginos, the sleptons and the first and second generation squarks are decoupled. We check that our natural supersymmetry spectra satisfy all electroweak precision observables and flavour measurements as well as theoretical constraints. By reinterp…
Models with extended Higgs sectors can contain several additional Higgs states, heavier or lighter than the SM Higgs boson. The couplings of lighter extra states to SM particles can be strongly reduced, leading to small cross sections for their direct production. Heavier extra states can have larger couplings to SM particles and, moreover, have large branching fractions into lighter extra states, notably into a SM-like Higgs boson accompagnied by another Higgs state which can be lighter or heavier than 125$\sim$GeV. Motivated by corresponding scenarios in the NMSSM we study the prospects for t…
R-parity violation modifies the phenomenology of supersymmetric models considerably. We study a version of NMSSM, which contains right-handed neutrinos and in which spontaneous R-parity violation is possible. We study the ensuing effects of spontaneous breaking to the Higgs decay modes, taking into account the measured mass of the Higgs boson and experimental constraints, including rare decays. We find that a possible light scalar, dominantly a sneutrino, helps to increase the Standard Model (SM) Higgs-like scalar mass to the measured value. At the same time, a lighter stop than in the MSSM is…
NMSSM has enough ingredients to explain the diphoton excess at 750 GeV: singlet-like (pseudo) scalar ($a$) $s$ and higgsinos as heavy vector-like fermions. We consider the production of the 750 GeV singlet-like pseudo scalar a from a decay of the doublet-like pseudo scalar $A$, and the subsequent decay of $a$ into two photons via higgsino loop. We demonstrate that this cascade decay of the NMSSM Higgs bosons can explain the diphoton excess in the 13 TeV data consistently with the absence of a significant excess in the 8 TeV data.
With a bottom-up approach, we consider naturalness in the MSSM and NMSSM. Assuming the light stops, the LHC gluino search implies that the degree of fine tuning in both models is less than 2.5%. Taking the LHC hints for the SM-like Higgs boson mass m_h\sim125 GeV seriously, we find that naturalness will favor the NMSSM. We study the Higgs boson mass for several scenarios in the NMSSM: (1) A large λand the doublet-singlet Higgs boson mixing effect pushing upward or pulling downward m_h. The former case can readily give the di-photon excess of the Higgs boson decay whereas the latter case can no…
We present a benchmark in the parameter space of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) that provides for a dramatic multi-lepton signal and no jets containing 5 or more leptons resulting from the cascade decays of the third lightest neutralino, $χ^{0}_{3}$, and the lightest chargino, $χ^{\pm}_{1}$, via light charged sleptons. This is a very clean signal with almost no Standard Model (SM) background. In some cases, a total signal of $\ge 3 $leptons + 0 jets can be detected at the $5 σ$ level at the LHC running at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with approximately 3 fb$^{-1}$ of data and wi…
Constraints from searches for squarks and gluinos at the LHC at sqrt{s}=8 TeV are applied to the parameter space of the NMSSM with universal squark/slepton and gaugino masses at the GUT scale, but allowing for non-universal soft Higgs mass parameters (the sNMSSM). We confine ourselves to regions of the parameter space compatible with a 125 GeV Higgs boson with diphoton signal rates at least as large as the Standard Model ones, and a dark matter candidate compatible with WMAP and XENON100 constraints. Following the simulation of numerous points in the m_0-M_{1/2} plane, we compare the constrain…
We examine the implications of singlet-doublet Higgs mixing on the properties of a Standard Model (SM)-like Higgs boson within the Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the NMSSM (PQ-NMSSM). The SM singlet added to the Higgs sector connects the PQ and visible sectors through a PQ-invariant non-renormalizable Kähler potential term, making the model free from the tadpole and domain-wall problems. For the case that the lightest Higgs boson is dominated by the singlet scalar, the Higgs mixing increases the mass of a SM-like Higgs boson while reducing its signal rate at collider experiments compared …
We study scenarios in the minimal and next-to minimal supersymmetric models in which the lightest CP-even Higgs boson can have mass below the 114 GeV standard model LEP limit by virtue of reduced ZZ coupling due to substantial mixing among the Higgs bosons. We pay particular attention to the size of corrections from superpartners needed for these scenarios to be viable and point to boundary conditions at large scales which lead to these scenarios while at the same time keeping electroweak fine tuning modest in size. We find that naturalness of electroweak symmetry breaking in the mixed-Higgs s…
The recent discovery of a Higgs-like boson at the LHC with a mass of 126 GeV has revived the interest in supersymmetric models, which predicted a Higgs boson mass below 130 GeV long before its discovery. We compare systematically the allowed parameter space in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) and the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Model (NMSSM) by minimizing the chi^2 function with respect to all known constraints from accelerators and cosmology using GUT scale parameters. For the CMSSM the Higgs boson mass at tree level is below the Z^0 boson mass and large radiat…
We study a region in the NMSSM parameter space in which the mass of the SM-like Higgs boson is uplifted by ~4-17 GeV, allowing for stop masses and |A_t| <= 1 TeV alleviating the little fine tuning problem of the MSSM. An uplift of the mass of the SM-like Higgs boson is possible in two distinct regions in the NMSSM parameter space: Either for large lambda and small tan(beta) or, through singlet-doublet mixing, for small lambda and large tan(beta). For a mostly singlet-like Higgs state H_S with a mass below 125 GeV we investigate possible direct or indirect search channels at the run II of the L…
We explore the effects of Higgs mixing in the general next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). Extended to include a gauge singlet, the Higgs sector can naturally explain the observed Higgs boson mass in TeV scale supersymmetry without invoking large stop mixing. This is particularly the case when the singlet scalar is light so that singlet-doublet mixing increases the mass of the SM-like Higgs boson. In such a case the Higgs mixing has interesting implications following from the fact that the higgsino mass parameter and the singlet coupling to Higgs bilinear crucially depend on …
We study whether a 125 GeV standard model-like Higgs boson can be accommodated within the scale-invariant NMSSM in a way that is natural in all respects, i.e., not only is the stop mass and hence its loop contribution to Higgs mass of natural size, but we do not allow significant tuning of NMSSM parameters as well. We pursue as much as possible an analytic approach which gives clear insights on various ways to accommodate such a Higgs mass, while conducting complementary numerical analyses. We consider both scenarios with singlet-like state being heavier and lighter than SM-like Higgs. With A-…
The LHC discovered the Standard Model (SM) like Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV. However, there exist hints of deviations from Higgs decays. Including the Tevatron data, the deviations can be explained by the extremely mixed stop sector in the sense of best global fit (BGF). We analyze the relations among the competing reduced coupling hGG, Higgs boson mass, and LHC stop mass m_{\wt t_1} lower bound at the tree- and one-loop level. In particular, we point out that we use the light stop running mass in the Higgs boson mass calculation while the light stop pole mass in the Higgs decays. So t…
We study the potential observation at the LHC of CP-violating effects in stop production and subsequent cascade decays, g g -> tilde{t}_i tilde{t}_i, tilde{t}_i -> t tilde{chi}^0_j, tilde{chi}^0_j -> tildeχ^0_1 l^+ l^-, within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We study T-odd asymmetries based on triple products between the different decay products. There may be a large CP asymmetry at the parton level, but there is a significant dilution at the hadronic level after integrating over the parton distribution functions. Consequently, even for scenarios where large CP intrinsic asymmetries…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) with a Higgs sector containing five neutral and two charged Higgs bosons allows for a rich phenomenology. In addition, the plethora of parameters provides many sources of CP violation. In contrast to the Minimal Supersymmetric Extension, CP violation in the Higgs sector is already possible at tree-level. For a reliable understanding and interpretation of the experimental results of the Higgs boson search, and for a proper distinction of Higgs sectors provided by the Standard Model or possible extensions, the Higgs boson…
We present our computation of the ${\cal O}((α_t+α_λ+α_κ)^2)$ two-loop corrections to the Higgs boson masses of the CP-violating Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) using the Feynman-diagrammatic approach in the gaugeless limit at vanishing external momentum. We choose a mixed $\overline{\mbox{DR}}$-on-shell (OS) renormalisation scheme for the Higgs sector and apply both $\overline{\mbox{DR}}$ and OS renormalisation in the top/stop sector. For the treatment of the infrared divergences we apply and compare three different regularisation methods: the introduction of a regulator…
We propose that the TeV scale mirage mediation in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) is a novel solution for the little hierarchy problem in supersymmetry. The 125 GeV Higgs boson can be accommodated with the new quartic coupling or the mixing with the singlet. The fine-tuning measures are estimated numerically and found as low as 10\% or below for $1.5$ TeV gluino and $1$ TeV stop. The higgsino can be as heavy as 500 GeV without deteriorating the fine-tuning. An undesirable singlet-doublet mixing in the Higgs sector is suppressed due to approximate scale symmetries. We …
We study the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We consider soft supersymmetry breaking parameters, which are induced by the mirage mediation mechanism of supersymmetry breaking. We concentrate on the mirage mediation, where the so-called mirage scale is the TeV scale. In this scenario, we can realize the up-type Higgs soft mass of O(200) GeV, while other masses such as gaugino masses and stop masses are heavy such as 1 TeV or more. Cancellation between the effective μ-term and the down-type Higgs soft mass ameliorates the fine-tuning in the electroweak symmetry breaking even for μ…
We perform a systematic study of radiative corrections to the masses of the Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) augmented by a single gauge singlet, the so-called next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). Our method is based on the one-loop effective potential and includes effects of top quark, squark, Higgs and Higgsino loops. We discuss the renormalisation group flows of Yukawa couplings and the upper bound on the lightest CP-even neutral Higgs boson mass as a function of the heavier stop mass and top mass. We then give a general discussion of Higgs …
In light of the recent LHC Higgs search data, we investigate the pair production of a SM-like Higgs boson around 125 GeV in the MSSM and NMSSM. We first scan the parameter space of each model by considering various experimental constraints, and then calculate the Higgs pair production rate in the allowed parameter space. We find that in most cases the dominant contribution to the Higgs pair production comes from the gluon fusion process and the production rate can be greatly enhanced, maximally 10 times larger than the SM prediction (even for a TeV-scale stop the production rate can still be e…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) with a Higgs boson of mass 125 GeV can be compatible with stop masses of order of the electroweak scale, thereby reducing the degree of fine-tuning necessary to achieve electroweak symmetry breaking. Moreover, in an attractive region of the NMSSM parameter space, corresponding to the "alignment limit" in which one of the neutral Higgs fields lies approximately in the same direction in field space as the doublet Higgs vacuum expectation value, the observed Higgs boson is predicted to have Standard-Model-like properties. …
The LHC data implies that the newly discovered Higgs boson h may be sterile (highly SM-like). In supersymmetric SMs (SSMs), Higgs couplings are often modified by Higgs mixing and stop loop corrections, so we study the Higgs sterility in the Higgs and stop sectors in two SSMs: (I) The Minimal SSM (MSSM). In the nearly decoupling region, the doublet-doublet mixing effect can only enhance C_{hb\bar b} by 2m_Z^2/M_A^2. Sterility places M_A\gtrsim 900 GeV. But it hardly constrains the stop sector due to the heaviness of Higgs boson mass m_h; (II) The next to MSSM(NMSSM). In the presence of doublet-…
We briefly review the super-natural supersymmetry (SUSY), which provides a most promising solution to the SUSY electroweak fine-tuning problem. In particular, we address its subtle issues as well. Unlike the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard model (MSSM), the Next to MSSM (NMSSM) can be scale invariant and has no mass parameter in its Lagrangian before SUSY and gauge symmetry breakings. Therefore, the NMSSM is a perfect framework for super-natural SUSY. To give the SUSY breaking soft mass to the singlet, we consider the moduli and dilaton dominant SUSY breaking scenarios in M-theory on $S^1/Z_2$…
The constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cNMSSM) with mSugra-like boundary conditions at the GUT scale implies a singlino-like LSP with a mass just a few GeV below a stau NLSP. Hence, most of the squark/gluino decay cascades contain two tau leptons. The gluino mass >~ 1.2 TeV is somewhat larger than the squark masses of >~ 1 TeV. We simulate signal and background events for such a scenario at the LHC, and propose cuts on the transverse momenta of two jets, the missing transverse energy and the transverse momentum of a hadronically decaying tau lepton. This dedicated analy…
