Galilean symmetry in generalized abelian Schrödinger-Higgs models with and without gauge field interaction

We consider a generalization of nonrelativistic Schrödinger-Higgs Lagrangian by introducing a nonstandard kinetic term. We show that this model is Galilean invariant, we construct the conserved charges associated to the symmetries and realize the algebra of the Galilean group. In addition, we study the model in the presence of a gauge field. We also show that the gauged model is Galilean invariant. Finally, we explore relations between twin models and their solutions.

Galilean Gauge Theories from Null Reductions

The procedure of null reduction provides a concrete way of constructing field theories with Galilean invariance. We use this to examine Galilean gauge theories, viz. Galilean electrodynamics and Yang-Mills theories in spacetime dimensions 3 and 4. Different non-relativistic conformal symmetries arise in these contexts: Schr{ö}dinger symmetry in $d=3$ and Galilean conformal symmetry in $d=4$. Space-time Schrödinger symmetries of a post-Galilean particle

We study the space-time symmetries of the actions obtained by expanding the action for a massive free relativistic particle around the Galilean action. We obtain all the point space-time symmetries of the post-Galilean actions by working in canonical space. We also construct an infinite collection of generalized Schrödinger algebras parameterized by an integer $M$, with $M=0$ corresponding to the standard Schrödinger algebra. We discuss the Schrödinger equations associated to these algebras, their solutions and projective phases.

Supersymmetry and the Atiyah-Singer Index Theorem II: The Scalar Curvature Factor in the Schr{\" o}dinger Equation

The quantization of the superclassical system used in the proof of the index theorem results in a factor of $\hbar^{2}R/8 $ in the Hamiltonian. The path integral expression of the kernel is analyzed up to and including 2-loop order. The existence of the scalar curvature term is confirmed by comparing the linear term in the heat kernel expansion with the 2-loop order terms in the loop expansion.

Quasiperiodic Solutions of the Fibre Optics Coupled Nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger Equations

We consider travelling periodical and quasiperiodical waves in single mode fibres, with weak birefringence and under the action of cross-phase modulation. The problem is reduced to the ``1:2:1" integrable case of the two-particle quartic potential. A general approach for finding elliptic solutions is given. New solutions which are associated with two-gap Treibich-Verdier potentials are found. Schrodinger Equations for Higher Order Non-relativistic Particles and N-Galilean Conformal Symmetry

We consider Schrodinger equations for a non-relativistic particle obeying N+1-th order higher derivative classical equation of motion. These equations are invariant under N(odd)-extended Galilean conformal (NGC) algebras in general d+1 dimensions. In 2+1 dimensions, the exotic Schrodinger equations are invariant under N(even)-GCA.

On the Schr{ö}dinger-Newton equation and its symmetries: a geometric view

The \SN (SN) equation is recast on purely geometrical grounds, namely in terms of Bargmann structures over $(\d+1)$-dimensional Newton-Cartan (NC) spacetimes. Its maximal group of invariance, which we call the SN group, is determined as the group of conformal Bargmann automorphisms that preserve the coupled Schrödinger and NC gravitational field equations. Canonical unitary representations of the SN group are worked out, helping us recover, in particular, a very specific occurrence of dilations with dynamical exponent $z=(\d+2)/3$.
