In this paper we study chaotic behavior of actions of a countable discrete group acting on a compact metric space by self-homeomorphisms.
For actions of a countable discrete group G, we introduce local weak mixing and Li-Yorke chaos; and prove that local weak mixing implies Li-Yorke chaos if G is infinite, and positive topological entropy implies local weak mixing if G is an infinite countable discrete amenable group. Moreover, when considering a shift of finite type for actions of an infinite countable amenable group G, if the action has positive topological entropy then its homoclinic equivalence relation is non-trivial, and the converse holds true if additionally G is residually finite and the action contains a dense set of periodic points.
In this paper, we introduce the notion of regular action of any abelian subgroup G of $Diff^{1}(C^n) on C^n (i.e. the closure of every orbit of G in some open set is a topological sub-manifold of C^n). We prove that if G fixes 0 and dim(vect(L_{G}) =n, then the action of G, can not be p-chaotic for every 0<= p <=n-1. (i.e. If G has a dense orbit then the set of all regular orbit with order p can not be dense in C^{n}), where vect(L_{G}) is the vector space generated by all Df_{0}, f in G. Moreover, weprove that the action of any abelian lie subgroup of Diff^{1}(C^{n}), is regular.
We show the coexistence of chaotic behaviors (positive metric entropy) and elliptic behaviors (intregrable KAM island) among analytic, symplectic diffeomorphism of any closed surface. In particilar this solves a problem by F. Przytycki (1982).
We study a one-parameter family of quadratic maps, which serves as a template for interior point methods. It is known that such methods can exhibit chaotic behavior, but this has been verified only for particular linear optimization problems. Our results indicate that this chaotic behavior is generic.
A continuous action of a group G on a compact metric space has sensitive dependence on initial conditions if there is a number e>0 such that for any open set U we can find g in G such that g.U has diameter greater than e. We prove that if a G action preserves a probability measure of full support, then the system is either minimal and equicontinuous, or has sensitive dependence on initial conditions. This generalizes the invertible case of a theorem of Glasner and Weiss. We prove that when a finitely generated, solvable group, acts and certain cyclic subactions have dense sets of minimal point…
We consider the one degree-of-freedom Hamiltonian system defined by the Morse potential energy function (the "Morse oscillator"). We use the geometry of the level sets to construct explicit expressions for the trajectories as a function of time, their period for the bounded trajectories, and action-angle variables. We use these trajectories to prove sufficient conditions for chaotic dynamics, in the sense of Smale horseshoes, for the time-periodically perturbed Morse oscillator using a Melnikov type approach.
In the present paper, by conducting research on the dynamics of the $p$-adic generalized Ising mapping corresponding to renormalization group associated with the $p$-adic Ising-Vannemenus model on a Cayley tree, we have determined the existence of the fixed points of a given function. Simultaneously, the attractors of the dynamical system have been found. We have come to a conclusion that the considered mapping is topologically conjugate to the symbolic shift which implies its chaoticity and as an application, we have established the existence of periodic $p$-adic Gibbs measures for the $p$-ad…
We study nonautonomous discrete dynamical systems with randomly perturbed trajectories. We suppose that such a system is generated by a sequence of continuous maps which converges uniformly to a map $f$. We give conditions, under which a recurrent point of a (standard) autonomous discrete dynamical system generated by the limit function $f$ is also recurrent for the nonautonomous system with randomly perturbed trajectories. We also provide a necessary condition for a nonautonomous discrete dynamical system to be nonchaotic in the sense of Li and Yorke with respect to small random perturbations…
We show that under certain simple assumptions on the topology (structure) of networks of strongly interacting chaotic elements a phenomenon of long range action takes place, namely that the asymptotic (as time goes to infinity) dynamics of an arbitrary large network is completely determined by its boundary conditions. This phenomenon takes place under very mild and robust assumptions on local dynamics with short range interactions. However, we show that it is unstable with respect to arbitrarily weak local random perturbations.
Relationships between a chaotic behavior and closely related properties of topological transitivity, sensitivity to initial conditions, density of closed orbits of homeomorphism groups and their countable products are investigated. We construct numerous new examples of chaotic groups of homeomorphisms of countable products of various metrizable topological spaces, including infinite-dimensional topological manifolds, whose factors can be as noncompact surfaces, so triangulable closed manifolds of an arbitrary dimension.
In the paper we describe basin of attraction $p$-adic dynamical system $G(x)=(ax)^2(x+1)$. Moreover, we also describe the Siegel discs of the system, since the structure of the orbits of the system is related to the geometry of the $p$-adic Siegel discs.
The use of numerical simulation for prediction of characteristics of chaotic dynamical systems inherently involves unpredictable processes. In this work, we develop a model for the expected error in the simulation of ergodic, chaotic ODE systems, which allows for discretization and statistical effects due to unpredictability. Using this model, we then generate a framework for understanding the relationship between the sampling cost of a simulation and the expected error in the result, and explore the implications of the various parameters of simulations. Finally, we generalize the framework to…
In our previous investigations, we have developed the renormalization group method to $p$-adic models on Cayley trees, this method is closely related to the investigation of $p$-adic dynamical systems associated with a given model. In this paper, we study chaotic behavior of the Potts-Bethe mapping. We point out that a similar kind of result is not known in the case of real numbers (with rigorous proofs).
Key features of biological activity can often be captured by transitions between a finite number of semi-stable states that correspond to behaviors or decisions. We present here a broad class of dynamical systems that are ideal for modeling such activity. The models we propose are chaotic heteroclinic networks with nontrivial intersections of stable and unstable manifolds. Due to the sensitive dependence on initial conditions, transitions between states are seemingly random. Dwell times, exit distributions, and other transition statistics can be built into the model through geometric design an…
In our previous investigations, we have developed the renormalization group method to $p$-adic $q$-state Potts model on the Cayley tree of order $k$. This method is closely related to the examination of dynamical behavior of the $p$-adic Potts-Bethe mapping which depends on parameters $q,k$. In \cite{MFKh18} we have considered the case when $q$ is not divisible by $p$, and under some conditions it was established that the mapping is conjugate to the full shift. The present paper is a continuation of the mentioned paper, but here we investigate the case when $q$ is divisible by $p$ and $k$ is a…
In this paper, a rigorous analysis of the behavior of the standard logistic map, Logistic Tent system (LTS), Logistic-Sine system (LSS) and Tent-Sine system (TSS) is performed using 0-1 test and three state test (3ST). In this work, it has been proved that the strength of the chaotic behavior is not uniform. Through extensive experiment and analysis, the strong and weak chaotic regions of LTS, LSS and TSS have been identified. This would enable researchers using these maps, to have better choices of control parameters as key values, for stronger encryption. In addition, this paper serves as a …
Chaotic iterations, a tool formerly used in distributed computing, has recently revealed various interesting properties of disorder leading to its use in the computer science security field. In this paper, a comprehensive study of its topological behavior is proposed. It is stated that, in addition to being chaotic as defined in the Devaney's formulation, this tool possesses the property of topological mixing. Additionally, its level of sensibility, expansivity, and topological entropy are evaluated. All of these properties lead to a complete unpredictable behavior for the chaotic iterations. …

An analysis of transition from chaotic to nonchaotic behavior and synchronization in an ensemble of systems driven by identical random forces is presented. The synchronization phenomenon is investigated in the ensemble of particles moving with friction in the time-dependent potential and driven by the identical noise. The threshold values of the parameters for transition from chaotic to nonchaotic behavior are obtained and dependencies of the Lyapunov exponents and power spectral density of the current of the ensemble of particles on the nonlinearity of the systems and intensity of the driven …
