We fit the single-hadron transverse-momentum spectra measured in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with the blast-wave model that includes production via resonance decays. Common fit to pions, kaons, (anti)protons, and lambdas yields centrality dependence of the freeze-out temperature and transverse expansion velocity. In the most central collisions we see $T=98$ MeV and $\langle v_t \rangle = 0.654$. The $K^*$ resonance fits into this picture but the $ϕ$ meson might freeze-out a little earlier. Multistrange baryons seem to decouple at higher temperature and weaker transverse flow. Within our model we observe hints of chemical potential for the charged pions.
We present predictions of the mean multiplicity yields for different centrality classes of Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$ TeV at the LHC, obtained using the Monte-Carlo Modified Glauber model (MGM) [1]. Contrary to generally used standard Glauber calculations, the MGM takes into account the energy conservation in the soft particles production. The only one efficient model parameter was tuned and fixed previously (k=0.35) by fitting the available data on multiplicity for all colliding systems up to RHIC energies. The MGM has shown already a good predictive capability for the yields at $\…
Predictions have been compiled for the $p+$Pb LHC runs, focusing on production of hard probes in cold nuclear matter. These predictions were first made for the $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV $p+$Pb run and were later compared to the available data. A similar set of predictions were published for the 8.16~TeV $p+$Pb run. A selection of the predictions are reviewed here.
The ALICE data on light flavor hadron production obtained in $p-Pb$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} $ = 5.02 TeV are studied in the thermal model using the canonical approach with exact strangeness conservation. The chemical freeze-out temperature is independent of centrality except for the lowest multiplicity bin, with values close to 160 MeV but consistent with those obtained in $Pb-Pb$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. The value of the strangeness non-equilibrium factor $γ_s$ is slowly increasing with multiplicity from 0.9 to 0.96, i.e. it is always very close to full chemical equilibr…
The transverse momentum spectra of secondary pions and kaons, produced in $P+P$ and various central $Pb+Pb$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV at LHC, have been analyzed systematically with an approach based on Tsallis non-extensive statistics. The analytical results have been utilized to determine some of the very important thermodynamical parameters bearing characteristic signatures of the partonic medium produced in such collisions.
Using the coalescence model based on the phase-space distribution of nucleons from an extended blast-wave model that includes the space-momentum correlation of high momentum nucleons, we study the transverse momentum spectra and elliptic flows of deuteron and helium-3 in Pb+Pb collisions at the energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. We find that the measured elliptic flows of deuteron can be satisfactorily described if nucleons of large transverse momenta are more spread in space when their momenta are more aligned along the reaction plane.
Multiplicity, rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of hadrons produced both in inelastic and nondiffractive $pp$ collisions at energies from $\sqrt{s} = 200$\,GeV to 14\,TeV are studied within the Monte Carlo quark-gluon string model (QGSM). Good agreement with the available experimental data up to $\sqrt{s} = 13$\,TeV is obtained, and predictions are made for the collisions at top LHC energy $\sqrt{s} = 14$\,TeV. The model indicates that Feynman scaling and extended longitudinal scaling remain valid in the fragmentation regions, whereas strong violation of Feynman scaling is observe…
We calculate the production of prompt and thermal photons from Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02A TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and at 39A TeV at the proposed Future Circular Collider (FCC) facility. The photon spectra and anisotropic flow at these energies are compared with the results obtained from 2.76A TeV Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC for three different centrality bins. The prompt photons originating from initial hard scatterings are found to increase by a factor of 1.5 to 2 at 5.02A TeV in the $p_T$ region 2 to 15 GeV and the enhancement is found to be about 5 to 15 times at FCC energy co…
We calculate the high energy photon production from the Pb+Pb collisions for different centrality classes at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energy. The jet energy loss in the jet fragmentation, jet-photon conversion and jet bremsstrahlung is considered by using the Wang-Huang-Sarcevic (WHS) and Baier-Dokshitzer-Mueller-Peigne-Schiff (BDMPS) models. We use the (1+1)-dimensional ideal relativistic hydrodynamics to study the collective transverse flow and space-time evolution of the quark gluon plasma (QGP). The numerical results agree well with the ALICE data of the direct …
