Direct searches for lepton flavor violating Higgs boson decays in the $τμ$ channel have been recently reported by the CMS collaboration. The results display a slight excess of signal events with a significance of 2.5$σ$, which translates into a branching ratio of about $1$%. By interpreting these findings as a hint for beyond the standard model physics, we show that the Type-III 2HDM is capable of reproducing such signal while at the same time satisfying vacuum stability, perturbativity, electroweak precision data, measured Higgs standard decay modes and low-energy lepton flavor violating constraints. We have found that the allowed signal strength ranges for the $b\bar b$, $WW^*$ and $ZZ^*$ standard channels shrink as soon as BR$(h\toτμ)\sim 1$% is enforced. Thus, we point out that if the excess persists, improved measurements of these channels may be used to test our Type-III 2HDM scenario.
Flavour-violating interactions of the stop-quarks are expected to provide an additional few GeV contributions to the Higgs-Boson mass, particularly when mix with scharm-quarks, thereby allowing reduced supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking scale compared to flavour-conserving constrained minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM). Inspired by this, we analyse the interactions mentioned above in the context of CMSSM using the information entropy of the Higgs-Boson for a wider region of flavour-violating CMSSM parameter space $(m_0,m_{1/2},A_0,$ $\tanβ,sgn(μ),δ_{ct}^{ij})$, where $δ_{ct}^{ij}$ repres…

We investigate a two Higgs doublet model with extra flavour depending $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry where $Z'$ boson interactions can explain the Atomki anomaly by choosing appropriate charge assignment for the SM fermions. For parameter region explaining the Atomki anomaly we obtain light scalar boson with $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV mass, and we explore scalar sector to search for allowed parameter space. We then discuss anomalous magnetic dipole moment of muon and lepton flavour violating processes induced by Yukawa couplings of our model.
The recent measurements on $b\to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ processes suggest the existence of lepton-flavour-universality breaking new physics. In this work, we have explored the possibility of explaining these data by sneutrinos in the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model. We study the light sneutrinos, of order 1 TeV, and suppose that the rest of the sfermions are much heavier than them. This setup can solve the $b \to s μ^+ μ^-$ anomaly well, and it is almost unconstrained by other related processes, such as $B_s-\bar{B}_s$ mixing, as well as $B_s^0 \to τ^+ τ^-$, $B^+ \to K^+ τ…
Flavour-violating couplings of Higgs boson with stop and scharm quarks could be very important as in addition to lifting the mass of the Higgs boson by a few GeV, it could also play a vital phenomenological role in reducing the Supersymmetry breaking scale significantly. In this work, we investigate effects of such flavour-violating couplings within the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) framework in the context of LEP data, Higgs data at the LHC, precision observables and the relic density of the dark matter using Bayesian statistics. Our detailed analysis reveals that …
We study the non-leptonic puzzle of $B_{d(s)} \rightarrow K^{(\ast)}\bar{K}^{(\ast)}$ decay in the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (RPV-MSSM) extended with the inverse seesaw mechanism. In this model, the chiral flip of sneutrinos can contribute to the observables $L_{K\bar{K}}$ and $L_{K^{\ast}\bar{K}^{\ast}}$, that is benefit for explaining the relevant puzzle. We also find that this unique effect can engage in the $B_s$-$\bar{B}_s$ mixing. We utilize the scenario of complex $λ^\prime$ couplings to fulfill the recent stringent constraint of $B_s$-$\bar{B}_s$ mixing…
Recent data from the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN give a hint of possible violation of flavor in the leptonic decays of the Higgs boson. In this work we analyze the flavor violating leptonic decays $H^0_1\to l_i \bar l_j$ ($i\neq j$) within the framework of an MSSM extension with a vectorlike leptonic generation. Specifically we focus on the decay mode $H^0_1\to μτ$. The analysis is done including tree and loop contributions involving exchange of $W, Z$, charge and neutral higgs and leptons and mirror leptons, charginos and neutralinos and sleptons and mirror sl…
We study the phenomenology of a particular leptoquark extension of the Standard Model (SM), namely the doublet-singlet scalar leptoquark extension of the SM (DSL-SM). Besides generating Majorana mass for neutrinos, these leptoquarks contribute to muon and electron $(g-2)$ and various lepton flavour violating processes. Collider signatures of the benchmark points (BPs), consistent with the neutrino oscillation data, anomalous muon/electron magnetic moments, experimental bounds on the charged lepton flavour violation observables, etc., are studied at the LHC/FCC with centre-of-mass energies of 1…

The discovered Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV exhibits properties which are all in agreement with Standard Model predictions. However, the corresponding measurements still allow for a considerable non-Standard Model behavior of the h(125). Beyond Standard Model properties can show up in non-Standard Model decays of the h(125) or in anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson. This article presents four different analyses done at the CMS experiment with 2012 and 2016 data that search for properties of the discovered Higgs boson beyond the Standard Model. These include a search for lepton flavor …
We propose a possible explanation of the recent diphoton excess reported by ATLAS and CMS collaborations, at around 750 GeV diphoton invariant mass, within the framework of $E_{6}$ motivated Alternative Left-Right Symmetric Model (ALRSM), which is capable of addressing the $B$ decay anomalies in the flavor sector, the $eejj$ and $e$ missing $p_{T}jj$ excesses reported by CMS in run 1 of LHC and has the feature of high scale leptogenesis. We find that gluon-gluon fusion can give the observed production rate of the 750 GeV resonance, $\tilde{n}$, through a loop of scalar leptoquarks ($\tilde{h}^…
The observation of charged lepton flavour violation would be a smoking gun for new physics and could help in pinpointing the mechanism at the origin of neutrino masses and mixing. We present here our recent studies of lepton flavour violating Higgs decays in the inverse seesaw and its supersymmetric embedding, two examples of low-scale seesaw mechanisms. We predict branching ratios as large as $10^{-5}$ for the decays $h\rightarrow τμ$ and $h \rightarrow τe$ in the inverse seesaw, which can be probed in future colliders. Supersymmetric contributions can enhance the branching ratio of $h\righta…
We explain the recent excess seen by ATLAS and CMS experiments at around 750 GeV in the di-photon invariant mass as a narrow width sneutrino decaying to di-photons via a stau loop in R-parity violating Supersymmetry. The stau mass is predicted to be somewhere between half the resonant sneutrino mass and half the sneutrino mass plus 14 GeV. The scenario also predicts further signal channels at an invariant mass of 750 GeV, the most promising being into di-jets and $WW$. We also predict a left handed charged slepton decaying into $WZ$ and $W γ$ at a mass 750-754 GeV.
Extended scalar sectors with additional degrees of freedom appear in many scenarios beyond the Standard Model. Heavy scalar resonances that interact with the neutral current could be discovered via broad resonances in the tails of the four-lepton invariant mass spectrum, where the Standard Model background is small and well understood. In this article we consider a recent ATLAS measurement of four-lepton final states, where the data is in excess over the background for invariant masses above 500 GeV. We discuss the possibility that this excess could be interpreted as a "double peak" from the t…
The recent experimental results including $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$, $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$, $(g-2)_μ$ and $W$ mass show deviations from the standard model (SM) predictions, implying the clues of new physics (NP). In this work, we investigate the explanations of these anomalies in the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (RPV-MSSM) extended with the inverse seesaw mechanism. The non-unitarity extent $η_{ee}$ and the loop corrections from the interaction $λ'\hat L \hat Q \hat D$ are utilized to raise the prediction of $W$ mass through muon decays. We also find that the interaction $λ'\ha…

A recent search for the lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays of the Higgs boson, performed by CMS collaboration, reports an interesting deviation from the standard model (SM). The search conducted in the channel $H\rightarrow μτ_e$ and $H\rightarrow μτ_{\textrm{had}}$ shows an excess of $2.4σ$ signal events with 19.7 fb$^{-1}$ data at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt s=8$ TeV. On the other hand, a search performed by CMS collaboration for the SM Higgs boson produced in association with a top quark pair ($t\bar t H$) also showed an excess in the same-sign di-muon final state. In this work we try …
Run-I results from the CMS collaboration show an excess of events in the decay $h \to μτ_e$ with a local significances of 2.4$σ$. This could be the first hint of flavour violation in the Higgs sector. We summarise the bounds on the flavour violating Yukawa couplings from direct searches, low energy measurements and projected future experiments. We discuss the sensitivity of upcoming HL-LHC runs and future lepton colliders in measuring lepton-flavour violating couplings using an effective field theory framework. For the HL-LHC we find limits on BR($h\to μτ$) and BR$(h\to e τ) \lesssim \mathcal{…
The CP violating two-Higgs doublet model of type-X may enhance significantly the electric and magnetic moment of leptons through two-loop Barr-Zee diagrams. We analyze the general parameter space of the type-X 2HDM consistent with the muon $g-2$ and the electron EDM measurements to show how strongly the CP violating parameter is constrained in the region explaining the muon $ g-2$ anomaly.
The singly charged $SU(2)_L$ singlet scalar, with its necessarily flavour violating couplings to leptons, lends itself particularly well for an explanation of the Cabibbo Angle Anomaly and of hints for lepton flavour universality violation in $τ\to μ\bar νν$. In a setup addressing both anomalies, we predict loop-induced effects in $τ\to eγ$ and in $τ\to eμμ$. A recast of ATLAS selectron and smuon searches allows us to derive a coupling-independent lower limit of $\approx 200$ GeV on the mass of the singly charged singlet scalar. At a future $e^+e^-$ collider, dark matter mono-photon searches c…
Inspired by the recent CMS $h \to μτ$ excess, we calculate the lepton flavor violating Higgs decay $h \to μτ$ in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). Under the constraints of $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, $Z \to \ell_i \bar{\ell}_j$ and Higgs data, we find that the branching ratio of $h \to μτ$ can maximally reach $\mathcal O(10^{-4})$. We also investigate the correlation between $h \to μτ$, $τ\to μγ$ and $Z \to μτ$, which can be used to test LHT model at future $e^+e^-$ colliders.
In this work, the lepton-number-violating processes in $|ΔL|=2$ decays of $Λ_b^0$ baryon, $Λ_b^0 \to p π^+μ^- μ^-$ and $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c^+ π^+μ^- μ^-$, are investigated for the first time, via an intermediate on-shell Majorana neutrino $N$ with a mass in the GeV scale. We explore the experimental sensitivity of these dimuon channels at the LHCb and CMS experiments, in which heavy neutrino lifetimes in the accessible ranges of $τ_N = [1, 100, 1000]$ ps are considered. For a integrated luminosity collected of 10 and 50 fb${}^{-1}$ at the LHCb and 30, 300 and 3000 fb${}^{-1}$ at the CMS, we found si…
One of the outstanding problems in physics is to explain the baryon-anti-baryon asymmetry observed in nature. According to the well-known Sakharov criterion for explaining the observed asymmetry, it is essential that $CP$ violation exist. Even though $CP$ violation has been observed in meson decays and is an integral part of the standard model (SM), measurements in meson decays indicate that $CP$ violation in the SM is insufficient to explain the observed baryon-anti-baryon asymmetry. SM predicts the existence of yet to be observed $CP$ violation in baryon decays. A critical test of the SM req…
In the standard model flavor violating decays of the top quark and of the Higgs boson are highly suppressed. Further, the flavor violating decays of the top and of the Higgs are also small in MSSM and not observable in current or in near future experiment. In this work we show that much larger branching ratios for these decays can be achieved in an extended MSSM model with an additional vector like quark generation. Specifically we show that in the extended model one can achieve branching ratios for $t\to h^0 c$ and $t\to h^0 u$ as large as the current experimental upper limits given by the AT…
ATLAS and CMS have observed a flavor violating decay of the Higgs to muon and tau. The fact that flavour violating couplings of the Higgs boson are exactly zero in the Standard Model suggests the mixing of the Higgs with another scalar with flavour violating couplings. We use the flavon field from the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism, responsible for generating the lepton Yukawa matrices, for this purpose. The parameter space is constrained from experimental bounds on charged lepton flavor violation in other processes, however, we show that a substantial region of parameter space survives these boun…
In recent years experiments revealed intriguing hints for new physics (NP) in $B$ decays involving \bctaunu and $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ transitions at the $4\,σ$ and $5\,σ$ level, respectively. In addition, there are slight disagreements in $b\to u τν$ and $b\to dμ^+μ^-$ observables. While not significant on their own, they point in the same direction. Furthermore, $V_{us}$ extracted from $τ$ decays shows a slight tension ($\approx2.5\,σ$) with its value determined from CKM unitarity. Additionally, BELLE found hints for an excess in $B_d\toτ^+τ^-$. Concerning NP explanations, the vector leptoquar…
Motivated by results recently reported by the CMS Collaboration about an excess in the di-photon spectrum at about 96 GeV, especially when combined with another long-standing anomaly at the same value in the $b\bar b$ invariant mass spectrum in four-jet events collected at LEP, we show that a possible explanation to both phenomena can be found at 1$σ$ level in a generic 2-Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) of Type-III in presence of a specific Yukawa texture, wherein Lepton Flavour Violating (LFV) (neutral) currents are induced at tree level. Bounds from Higgs data play a major role in limiting the pa…
The latest results in the search for rare and exotic Higgs boson decays in proton-proton collision events collected with the CMS detector at the LHC are presented. The searches are performed for several decay modes of Higgs boson including $\mathrm{H}\rightarrow{\rm X (X \rightarrow2\ell)γ}$ ($X= {\rm Z}, γ^* $ and $\ell={\rm e},μ$), $\mathrm{H}\rightarrow{ μμ/ {\rm e}{\rm e}}$, invisible decays, lepton flavour violating decays and Higgs decay to light scalars or pseudo-scalars. No hint for new physics has been found from the analyzed results with the full LHC run-1 data collected during 2011 …
We investigate the possibility of explaining the enhancement in semileptonic decays of $\bar B \to D^{(*)} τ\bar ν$, the anomalies induced by $b\to sμ^+μ^-$ in $\bar B\to (K, K^*, ϕ)μ^+μ^-$ and violation of lepton universality in $R_K = Br(\bar B\to K μ^+μ^-)/Br(\bar B\to K e^+e^-)$ within the framework of R-parity violating (RPV) MSSM. Exchange of down type right-handed squark coupled to quarks and leptons yield interactions which are similar to leptoquark induced interactions that have been proposed to explain the $\bar B \to D^{(*)} τ\bar ν$ by tree level interactions and $b\to s μ^+μ^-$ an…
