We compiled a catalog of Faraday rotation measures (RMs) for 4553 extragalactic radio point sources ublished in literature. These RMs were derived from multi-frequency polarization observations. The RM data are compared to those in the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) RM catalog. We reveal a systematic uncertainty of about $10.0 \pm 1.5$\,rad~m$^{-2}$ in the NVSS RM catalog. The Galactic foreground RM is calculated through a weighted averaging method by using the compiled RM catalog together with the NVSS RM catalog, with careful consideration of uncertainties in the RM data. The data from the catalog and the interface for the Galactic foreground RM calculations are publicly available on the webpage: http://zmtt.bao.ac.cn/RM/.
We conducted a deep spectroscopic survey, named SSA22-HIT, in the SSA22 field with the DEep Imaging MultiObject Spectrograph (DEIMOS) on the Keck telescope, designed to tomographically map high-z HI gas through analysis of Lya absorption in background galaxies' spectra. In total, 198 galaxies were spectroscopically confirmed at 2.5 < z < 6 with a few low-z exceptions in the 26 x 15 arcmin^2 area, of which 148 were newly determined in this study. Our redshift measurements were merged with previously confirmed redshifts available in the 34 x 27 arcmin^2 area of the SSA22 field. This compiled cat…
In arXiv:1505.05181, Iocco, Pato, and Bertone analyze the consistency of Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) with their compiled Milky Way data and baryonic mass distribution models. We contribute to the discussion by feeding the baryonic mass distribution model shown as a black line in Figure 2 of their original paper, Nature Physics 11:245, into the MOND formula assuming the so-called simple interpolation function, and directly plotting these results on top of the compiled observational rotation curve data from their original paper. We find that the baryonic model using MOND with the simple i…
We have studied a sample of more than 25 000 young stars with proper motions and trigonometric parallaxes from the Gaia DR2 catalogue. The relative errors of their parallaxes do not exceed 10\%. The selection of stars belonging to active star-forming regions was made by Marton et al. based on data from the Gaia DR2 catalogue by invoking infrared measurements from the WISE and Planck catalogues. Low-mass T Tauri stars constitute the majority of sample stars. The following parameters of the angular velocity of Galactic rotation have been found from them: $Ω_0 =28.40\pm0.11$ km s$^{-1}$ kpc$^{-1}…
The NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) Rotation Measure (RM) catalogue has enabled numerous studies in cosmic magnetism, and will continue being a unique dataset complementing future polarisation surveys. Robust comparisons with these new surveys will however require further understandings in the systematic effects present in the NVSS RM catalogue. In this paper, we make careful comparisons between our new on-axis broadband observations with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array and the NVSS RM results for 23 sources. We found that two unpolarised sources were reported as polarised at about 0.5% level i…
The NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) Rotation Measure (RM) catalogue is invaluable for the study of cosmic magnetism. However, the RM values reported in it can be affected by n$π$-ambiguity, resulting in deviations of the reported RM from the true values by multiples of +-652.9 rad m-2. We therefore set off to observationally constrain the fraction of sources in the RM catalogue affected by this ambiguity. New broadband spectro-polarimetric observations were performed with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) at 1--2 GHz, with 23 n$π$-ambiguity candidates selected by their peculiarly high |RM| …
We have studied a sample containing about 6000 OB stars with proper motions and trigonometric parallaxes from the Gaia DR2 catalogue. The following parameters of the angular velocity of Galactic rotation have been found: $Ω_0=29.70\pm0.11$ km s$^{-1}$ kpc$^{-1}$, $Ω'_0=-4.035\pm0.031$ km s$^{-1}$ kpc$^{-2}$, and $Ω''_0= 0.620\pm0.014$ km s$^{-1}$ kpc$^{-3}$. The circular rotation velocity of the solar neighborhood around the Galactic center is $V_0=238\pm5$ km s$^{-1}$ for the adopted Galactocentric distance of the Sun $R_0=8.0\pm0.15$ kpc. The amplitudes of the tangential and radial velocity …
Based on published data, we have compiled a catalogue of fundamental astrophysical parameters for 593 open clusters of the Galaxy. In particular, the catalogue provides the Galactic orbital elements for 500 clusters, the masses, central concentrations, and ellipticities for 424 clusters, the metallicities for 264 clusters, and the relative magnesium abundances for 56 clusters. We describe the sources of initial data and estimate the errors in the investigated parameters. The selection effects are discussed. The chemical and kinematical properties of the open clusters and field thin-disk stars …
We present the catalog of ~31500 extragalactic HI line sources detected by the completed ALFALFA survey out to z < 0.06 including both high signal-to-noise ratio (> 6.5) detections and ones of lower quality which coincide in both position and recessional velocity with galaxies of known redshift. We review the observing technique, data reduction pipeline, and catalog construction process, focusing on details of particular relevance to understanding the catalog's compiled parameters. We further describe and make available the digital HI line spectra associated with the catalogued sources. In add…

We have analyzed the kinematics of OB2 stars with proper motions and parallaxes selected by Xu et al. from the Gaia EDR3 catalog. The relative parallax errors for all the stars in this sample do not exceed 10\%. Based on a sample of 9750 stars, the group velocity components $(U,V,W)_\odot=(7.21,7.46,8.52)\pm(0.13,0.20,0.10)$~km/s were obtained and the parameters of the angular velocity of rotation of the Galaxy: $Ω_0 =29.712\pm0.062$~km/s/kpc, $Ω^{'}_0=-4.014\pm0.018$~km/s/kpc$^{2}$ and $Ω^{''}_0=0.674\pm0.009$~km/s/kpc$^{3}$. The circular velocity of rotation of the solar neighborhood around …

We study the kinematics of a sample of classical Cepheids younger than 120 Myr. For these stars, the estimates of distances taken from Skowron et al., which are based on the period-luminosity relation, and the line-of-sight velocities and the proper motions from the Gaia catalog are available. There are also distance estimates derived from the trigonometric parallaxes contained in the Gaia ERD3 catalog. A method, which relies on comparison of the first-order derivative of the Galactic rotation angular velocity, showed the need to lengthen the distance scales determined by Skowron et al. by abo…
The Purple Mountain Observatory 13.7 m radio telescope has been used to search for 95 GHz (8$_0$--7$_1$A$^+$) class I methanol masers towards 1020 Bolocam Galactic Plane Survey (BGPS) sources, leading to 213 detections. We have compared the line width of the methanol and HCO$^+$ thermal emission in all of the methanol detections and on that basis we find 205 of the 213 detections are very likely to be masers. This corresponds to an overall detection rate of 95 GHz methanol masers towards our BGPS sample of 20%. Of the 205 detected masers 144 (70%) are new discoveries. Combining our results wit…
In this paper we introduce the deepest and most extensive ultraviolet extragalactic source catalogs of the Virgo Cluster area to date. Archival and targeted GALEX imaging is compiled and combined to provide the deepest possible coverage over ~120 deg^2 in the NUV (lambda_eff=2316 angstroms) and ~40 deg^2 in the FUV (lambda_eff=1539 angstroms) between 180 deg <= R.A. <= 195 deg and 0 deg <= Decl. <= 20 deg. We measure the integrated photometry of 1770 extended UV sources of all galaxy types and use GALEX pipeline photometry for 1,230,855 point-like sources in the foreground, within, and behind …
We have compiled a catalog of 903 candidates for type 1 quasars at redshifts 3<z<5.5 selected among the X-ray sources of the serendipitous XMM-Newton survey presented in the 3XMM-DR4 catalog (the median X-ray flux is 5x10^{-15} erg/s/cm^2 the 0.5-2 keV energy band) and located at high Galactic latitudes >20 deg in Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) fields with a total area of about 300 deg^2. Photometric SDSS data as well infrared 2MASS and WISE data were used to select the objects. We selected the point sources from the photometric SDSS catalog with a magnitude error Delta z<0.2 and a color i-z<…
Faraday rotation provides a valuable tracer of magnetic fields in the interstellar medium; catalogs of Faraday rotation measures provide key observations for studies of the Galactic magnetic field. We present a new catalog of rotation measures derived from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey, covering a large region of the Galactic plane spanning 52 deg < l < 192 deg, -3 deg < b < 5 deg, along with northern and southern latitude extensions around l ~ 105 deg. We have derived rotation measures for 2234 sources (4 of which are known pulsars), 75% of which have no previous measurements, over an ar…
We present a catalog of Faraday rotation measures (RMs) and redshifts for 4003 extragalactic radio sources detected at 1.4 GHz, derived by identifying optical counterparts and spectroscopic redshifts for linearly polarized radio sources from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey. This catalog is more than an order of magnitude larger than any previous sample of RM vs. redshift, and covers the redshift range 0 < z < 5.3 ; the median redshift of the catalog is z = 0.70, and there are more than 1500 sources at redshifts z > 1. For 3650 of these sources at Galactic latitudes |b| >= 20 degrees, we present a seco…
The evolution of the parameters of the residual velocity ellipsoid of hot subdwarfs (HSDs) with their position relative to the Galactic plane is traced, using the HSDs selected by Geier et al. from the Gaia DR2 catalog. Parameters of the Galactic rotation are determined for two $|z|$ zones. These are used to estimate the gradient of the circular rotation velocity, $V_0,$ versus $|z|,$ found to be $ΔV_0/Δ|z|=-71\pm7$ km s$^{-1}$ kpc$^{-1}$. The size of the residual velocity ellipsoid is $(σ_1,σ_2,σ_3)=(36.1,27.6,22.8)\pm(0.4,0.8,0.6)$ km/s for HSDs at $|z|<0.5$ kpc and $(σ_1,σ_2,σ_3)=(56.9,55.8…
We have compiled the first all-sky mid-infrared variable-star catalog based on Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) five-year survey data. Requiring more than 100 detections for a given object, 50,282 carefully and robustly selected periodic variables are discovered, of which 34,769 (69%) are new. Most are located in the Galactic plane and near the equatorial poles. A method to classify variables based on their mid-infrared light curves is established using known variable types in the General Catalog of Variable Stars. Careful classification of the new variables results in a tally of 21,…

AKARI/IRC has a capability of the slit-less spectroscopy in the mid-infrared (5--13 $μ$m) over a 10 arcmin$\times$10 arcmin area with a spectral resolution of 50, which is suitable for serendipitous surveys. The data reduction is, however, rather complicated by the confusion of nearby sources after dispersing the spectra. To make efficient and reliable data reduction, we first compiled a point-source list from the reference image in each field-of-view and checked the overlaps of the spectra using their relative positions and fluxes. Applying this procedure to 886 mid-infrared slit-less spectro…
The Third Catalog of Hard Fermi Large Area Telescope Sources (3FHL) reports the detection of 1556 objects at E > 10 GeV. However, 177 sources remain unassociated and 23 are associated with a ROSAT X-ray detection of unknown origin. Pointed X-ray observations were conducted on 30 of these unassociated and unknown sources with Swift-XRT. A bright X-ray source counterpart was detected in 21 out of 30 fields. In five of these 21 fields, we detected more than one X-ray counterpart, totaling 26 X-ray sources analyzed. Multiwavelength data was compiled for each X-ray source detected. We find that 21 …
We present ~2000 polarimetric and ~3000 photometric observations of 15 gamma-ray bright blazars over a period of 936 days (11/10/2008 - 26/10/2012) using data from the Tuorla blazar monitoring program (KVA DIPOL) and Liverpool Telescope (LT) RINGO2 polarimeters (supplemented with data from SkyCamZ (LT) and Fermi-LAT gamma-ray data). In 11 out of 15 sources we identify a total of 19 electric vector position angle (EVPA) rotations and 95 flaring episodes. We group the sources into subclasses based on their broadband spectral characteristics and compare their observed optical and gamma-ray proper…
Aims. The Radial Velocity Spectrometer (RVS) on board the ESA satellite mission Gaia has no calibration device. Therefore, the radial velocity zero point needs to be calibrated with stars that are proved to be stable at a level of 300 m/s during the Gaia observations. Methods. We compiled a dataset of ~71000 radial velocity measurements from five high-resolution spectrographs. A catalogue of 4813 stars was built by combining these individual measurements. The zero point was established using asteroids. Results. The resulting catalogue has seven observations per star on average on a typical tim…
We obtained rotation measures of 2642 quasars by cross-identification of the most updated quasar catalog and rotation measure catalog. After discounting the foreground Galactic Faraday rotation of the Milky Way, we get the residual rotation measure (RRM) of these quasars. We carefully discarded the effects from measurement and systematical uncertainties of RRMs as well as large RRMs from outliers, and get marginal evidence for the redshift evolution of real dispersion of RRMs which steady increases to 10 rad m$^{-2}$ from $z=0$ to $z\sim1$ and is saturated around the value at higher redshifts.…
We present rotation curve fits to 175 late-type galaxies from the Spitzer Photometry & Accurate Rotation Curves (SPARC) database using seven dark matter (DM) halo profiles: pseudo-isothermal (pISO), Burkert, Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW), Einasto, Di Cintio (2014, DC14), coreNFW, and a new semi-empirical profile named Lucky13. We marginalize over stellar mass-to-light ratio, galaxy distance, disk inclination, halo concentration and halo mass (and an additional shape parameter for Einasto) using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo method. We find that cored halo models such as the DC14 and Burkert profiles …
We present a sample of 2700 Ap stars in LAMOST DR9. The candidates are first selected to be in a temperature range typical of Ap stars by using the $BP$-$RP$ color index from Gaia DR3. Then the 5200\,Å flux depression features characteristic of Ap stars are visually checked in LAMOST DR9 spectra. The detailed spectral features are given by applying a modified spectral classification program, MKCLASS. Stellar parameters of these Ap stars such as $T_{\rm eff}$, $\log g$, [Fe/H], [Si/H], and $v{\sin}i$ are either extracted from a hot star catalog or derived through empirical relations and then a …
X-ray observations of low-mass stars in open clusters are critical to understanding the dependence of magnetic activity on stellar properties and their evolution. Praesepe and the Hyades, two of the nearest, most-studied open clusters, are among the best available laboratories for examining the dependence of magnetic activity on rotation for stars with masses lower than $\approx 1\ M_{\odot}$. We present an updated study of the rotation X-ray activity relation in the two clusters. We updated membership catalogs that combine pre-Gaia catalogs with new catalogs based on Gaia Data Release 2. The …
Sub-subgiant stars (SSGs) fall below the subgiant branch and/or red of the giant branch in open and globular clusters, an area of the color-magnitude diagram (CMD) not populated by standard stellar evolution tracks. One hypothesis is that SSGs result from rapid rotation in subgiants or giants due to tidal synchronization in a close binary. The strong magnetic fields generated inhibit convection, which in turn produces large starspots, radius inflation, and lower-than-expected average surface temperatures and luminosities. Here we cross-reference a catalog of active giant binaries (RS CVns) in …
The fourth United States Naval Observatory (USNO) CCD Astrograph Catalog, UCAC4 was released in August 2012 (double-sided DVD and CDS data center Vizier catalog I/322). It is the final release in this series and contains over 113 million objects; over 105 million of them with proper motions. UCAC4 is an updated version of UCAC3 with about the same number of stars also covering all-sky. Bugs were fixed, Schmidt plate survey data were avoided, and precise 5-band photometry were added. Astrograph observations have been supplemented for bright stars by FK6, Hipparcos and Tycho-2 data to compile a …
High-precision proper motions of the globular cluster 47 Tuc have allowed us to measure for the first time the cluster rotation in the plane of the sky and the velocity anisotropy profile from the cluster core out to about 13'. These profiles are coupled with prior measurements along the line of sight and the surface-brightness profile, and fit all together with self-consistent models specifically constructed to describe quasi-relaxed stellar systems with realistic differential rotation, axisymmetry and pressure anisotropy. The best-fit model provides an inclination angle i between the rotatio…
We present the discovery of 34 comoving systems containing an ultra-cool dwarf found by means of the NOIRLab Source Catalog (NSC) DR2. NSC's angular resolution of $\sim$1" allows for the detection of small separation binaries with significant proper motions. We used the catalog's accurate proper motion measurements to identify the companions by cross-matching a previously compiled list of brown dwarf candidates with NSC DR2. The comoving pairs consist of either a very low-mass star and an ultra-cool companion, or a white dwarf and an ultra-cool companion. The estimated spectral types of the pr…
We present the catalogue of Q-U-I JOint TEnerife (QUIJOTE) Wide Survey radio sources extracted from the maps of the Multi-Frequency Instrument compiled between 2012 and 2018. The catalogue contains 786 sources observed in intensity and polarization, and is divided into two separate sub-catalogues: one containing 47 bright sources previously studied by the \emph{Planck} collaboration and an extended catalogue of 739 sources either selected from the \emph{Planck} Second Catalogue of Compact Sources or found through a blind search carried out with a Mexican Hat 2 wavelet. A significant fraction o…
