The quark sigma model describes the quarks interacting via exchange the pions and sigma meson fields. A new version of mesonic potential is suggested in the frame of some aspects of the quantum chromodynamics (QCD). The field equations have been solved in the mean-field approximation for the hedgehog baryon state. The obtained results are compared with previous works and other models. We conclude that the suggested mesonic potential successfully calculates nucleon properties.
The chiral soliton model including pi, rho, omega mesons is extended for the case when the scalar - isoscalar sigma meson has an anomalous dimension - d. The form factor of the sigma - nucleon interaction calculated and to be found not highly sensitive to the value of d.
A new result for the nucleon sigma term from an updated pion-nucleon partial-wave and dispersion relation analysis of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (now George Washington University) group is discussed. Using a method similar to that of Gasser, Leutwyler, Locher, and Sainio, we obtain Sigma=90 +/- 8 MeV (preliminary), in disagreement with the canonical result 64 +/- 8 MeV, but consistent with expectations based on new information on the $π$NN coupling constant, pionic atoms, and the Delta resonance width.
There has been a discrepancy between values of the pion-nucleon sigma term extracted by two different methods for many years. Analysis of recent high precision pion-nucleon data has widened the gap between the two determinations. It is argued that the two extractions correspond to different quantities and that the difference between them can be understood and calculated.
Virtual Compton scattering off the nucleon has been studied in the one-loop approximation of the linear sigma model. The three generalized polarizabilities of the nucleon have been calculated and compared with the existing theoretical predictions. In particular, we find that only two of the three scalar polarizabilities are independent observables.
We compute pion-nucleon scattering at tree-level within a gauged linear sigma model which contains the nucleon and its chiral partner. Such an investigation in principle allows to make definite predictions as to whether the main contribution to the nucleon mass comes from the chiral condensate or from the mixing with its chiral partner. We find that there seems to be no set of model parameters that allows for a simultaneous description of all experimentally measured scattering lengths and range parameters. This indicates the need to improve the dynamical ingredients of the model.
The external-field QCD Sum Rules method is used to evaluate the coupling constant of the light isoscalar-scalar meson (``$σ$'' or ε) to the nucleon. The contributions that come from the excited nucleon states and the response of the continuum threshold to the external field are calculated. The obtained value of the coupling constant is compatible with the large value required in one-boson exchange potential models of the two-nucleon interaction.
We present Regge-model predictions for the p(gamma,K+)Sigma0 and n(gamma,K+)Sigma- differential cross sections and photon-beam asymmetries in the resonance region. The reaction amplitude encompasses the exchange of K+(494) and K*+(892) Regge-trajectories, introducing a mere three free parameters. These are fitted to the available p(gamma,K+)Sigma0 data beyond the resonance region. The n(gamma,K+)Sigma- amplitude is obtained from the p(gamma,K+)Sigma0 one through SU(2) isospin symmetry considerations.
An effective Lagrangian model in a coupled channels framework is applied to extract nucleon resonance parameters. In the K-matrix approximation, we simultaneously analyze all the available data for the transitions from pi N to five possible meson-baryon final states, pi N, pipi N, eta N, K Lambda, and KSigma, in the energy range from pi N threshold up to W = 2 GeV. In this work, we focus our efforts on the K Sigma channel. In particular, we include a set of Delta resonances around 1900 MeV: the S31(1900), P31(1910), and P33(1920) states. In most cases the parameters of nucleon resonances deter…
The pseudo scalar form factor, which represents the pseudo scalar quark density distribution due to finite quark masses on the nucleon, is shown to manifest itself with the induced pseudo scalar form factor in the $L_0^+$ amplitude for the charged pion electro-production. Both form factors show their own peculiar momentum dependence. Under the approximation on which the Goldberg-Treimann relation holds, a sum of both form factors' contributions accounts for the t-channel contribution in the charged pion electro-production near threshold.
A modified linear sigma model that allows for $g_A = 1.26$ by addition of vector and pseudovector $πN$ coupling terms was discussed by Bjorken and Nauenberg and by Lee. In this extended linear sigma model the elastic $π$N scattering amplitudes satisfy the relevant chiral low-energy theorems, such as the Weinberg-Tomozawa relation for the isovector scattering length and in some cases Adler's "consistency condition". The agreement of the isospin symmetric $πN$ scattering length with experiment is substantially improved in this extended sigma model as compared with the original one. We show that …
Understanding of inclusive one-nucleon knockout reactions for long-lived fission fragments (LLFPs) is crucial for nuclear transmutation studies. However, the particle and heavy ion transport code system (PHITS) severely overshoots the inclusive one-nucleon knockout cross sections sigma_-1N. Therefore development of a reaction model for describing the inclusive one-nucleon knockout processes is necessary. A key is specification of the position and the momentum of a nucleon inside a nucleus to be struck by the incident nucleon. In this paper the semiclassical distorted wave model incorporating t…
To describe nuclear matter at high temperature and high baryon density appropriate for RHIC and LHC, an effective theory is proposed. Three developments underlie the effective theory: (1) relativistic mean field theory description of nuclear matter with mesons mediating interactions; (2) topological soliton description of the nucleon with hidden local symmetry; (3) phenomenological knowledge of nucleon-nucleon interaction and nucleon structure obtained from elastic NN scattering at c.m. energies of hundreds of GeV. When these developments are combined together, a gauged linear sigma-model with…
Nucleon and meson effective masses in the nonlinear Relativistic Mean - Field Theory (RMF) introducing a nonlinear omega - rho and sigma coupling motivated by the Quark Meson Coupling model (QMC) is explored. It is shown that, in contrast to the usual Walecka model, not only the effective nucleon mass m_{eff,N} but also the effective sigma, rho meson masses (m_{eff, sigma}, m_{eff, rho}) and the effective omega meson mass m_{eff, omega} are nucleon density dependent.
The extended chiral sigma model with quark fields and elementary pion and sigma fields is used to describe static nucleon properties. The field equations have been solved in coherent pair approximation. Better results are obtained for nucleon properties in comparison with previous work and reasonably agree with data.
We study the effect of one-loop corrections from nucleon together with those from boson in the massless chiral sigma model, where we perform the Coleman-Weinberg renormalization procedure. This renormalization procedure has a mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking due to radiative corrections in $ϕ^4$ theory. We apply it to the system of nucleon and bosons with chiral symmetry where the negative-mass term of bosons does not exist. Spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking is derived from the contribution of nucleon and boson loops which generates the masses of nucleon, scalar meson, and vector …
The possibility of extending the linear sigma-omega model by introducing a sigma-omega coupling phenomenologically is explored. It is shown that, in contrast to the usual Walecka model, not only the effective nucleon mass M* but also the effective sigma meson mass m*_sigma and the effective omega meson mass m*_omega are nucleon density dependent. When the model parameters are fitted to the nuclear saturation point (the nuclear radius constant r_0=1.14fm and volume energy a_1=16.0MeV) as well as to the effective nucleon mass M*=0.85M, the model yields m*_sigma=1.09m_sigma and m*_omega=0.90m_ome…
The pion-nucleon sigma term is shown to be equal to the Goldberger-Treiman discrepancy at tree level. Its value estimated this way is very sensitive to the pion-nucleon coupling constant g_{pi NN}. This relation, when combined with the pion-nucleon S-wave scattering lengths, yields a new determination of g_{pi NN} at tree level. The results of a one-loop analysis are also summarized determining an allowed range for the induced pseudoscalar coupling constant g_P.
An improved quark mass density- dependent model with the non-linear scalar sigma field and the $ω$-meson field is presented. We show that the present model can describe saturation properties, the equation of state, the compressibility and the effective nuclear mass of nuclear matter under mean field approximation successfully. The comparison of the present model and the quark-meson coupling model is addressed.
We study the sensitivity of the neutron skin thickness, $S$, in a $^{208}$Pb nucleus to the addition of nucleon-sigma-rho coupling corrections to a selection (PK1, NL3, S271, Z271) of interactions in relativistic mean field model. The PK1 and NL3 effective interactions lead to a minimum value of $S$ = 0.16 fm in comparison with the original value of $S$ = 0.28 fm. The S271 and Z271 effective interactions yield even smaller values of $S$ = 0.11 fm, which are similar to those for nonrelativistic mean field models. A precise measurement of the neutron radius, and therefore $S$, in $^{208}$Pb will…
We apply the approximating chiral quark model. This chiral quark model is based on an effective Lagrangian which the interactions between quarks via sigma and pions mesons. The field equations have been solved in the mean field approximation for the hedgehog baryon state. Good results are obtained for nucleon properties in comparison with original model.
By solving the Schrödinger equation for the three-quark system in the hyperspherical harmonic approach, we have studied the low energy part of the nucleon and $Δ$ spectra using a quark-quark interaction which reproduces the nucleon-nucleon phenomenology. The quark-quark hamiltonian considered includes, besides the usual one-gluon exchange, pion and sigma exchanges generated by the chiral symmetry breaking. The baryonic spectrum obtained is reasonable and the resulting wave function gives consistency to the ansatz used in the two baryon system.
Quark-model nucleon-nucleon and hyperon-nucleon interactions by the Kyoto- Niigata group are applied to the hypertriton calculation in a new three-cluster Faddeev formalism using the two-cluster resonating-group method kernels. The most recent model, fss2, gives a reasonable result similar to the Nijmegen soft-core model NSC89, except for an appreciable contributions of higher partial waves.
We evaluate the nucleon sigma term and in-medium quark condensate in the modified quark-meson coupling model which features a density-dependent bag constant. We obtain a nucleon sigma term consistent with its empirical value, which requires a significant reduction of the bag constant in the nuclear medium similar to those found in the previous works. The resulting in-medium quark condensate at low densities agrees well with the model independent linear order result. At higher densities, the magnitude of the in-medium quark condensate tends to increase, indicating no tendency toward chiral symm…
Starting with a quark model of nucleon structure in which the valence quarks are strongly correlated within a nucleon, the light nuclei are constructed by assuming similar correlations of the quarks of neighboring nucleons. Applying the model to larger collections of nucleons reveals the emergence of the face-centered cubic (FCC) symmetry at the nuclear level. Nuclei with closed shells possess octahedral symmetry. Binding of nucleons are provided by quark loops formed by three and four nucleon correlations. Quark loops are responsible for formation of exotic (borromean) nuclei, as well. The mo…
The probability of a projectile nucleon to traverse a target nucleus without interaction is calculated for central Si-Cu and Si-Pb collisions. Special attention is given to the impact parameter range which contributes to events with large transverse energy. A fit to the data from E814 requires an effective NN cross section of sigma_eff=54.2+-5.0mb (compared to the free space value sigma_in=30mb) and is interpreted as one related to wounded target nucleons.
We have investigated the effect of the finite size of the constituent quarks on singlet and triplet nucleon-nucleon potentials, obtained in the framework of the $SU(2)$ nonrelativistic quark model using the resonating group method in the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. The full Hamiltonian used in the investigation includes the kinetic energy, two-body confinement potential, one gluon exchange potential (OGEP), and instanton induced interaction (III). The effects of the smearing of the contact interactions and the variation of the constituent mass of the quarks are discussed.
We study the nucleon-nucleon interaction in a chiral constituent quark model by using the resonating group method, convenient for treating the interaction between composite particles. The calculated phase shifts for the 3S1 and 1S0 channels show the presence of a strong repulsive core due to the combined effect of the quark interchange and the spin-flavour structure of the effective quark-quark interaction. Such a symmetry structure stems from the pseudoscalar meson exchange between the quarks and is a consequence of the spontaneous breaking of the chiral symmetry. We perform single and couple…
On the basis of the Friedberg-Lee model we formulate a semiclassical transport theory to describe the phase-space evolution of nucleon-nucleon collisions on the quark level. The time evolution is given by a Vlasov-equation for the quark phase-space distribution and a Klein-Gordon equation for the mean-field describing the nucleon as a soliton bag. The Vlasov equation is solved numerically using an extended testparticle method. We test the confinement mechanism and mean-field effects in 1+1 dimensional simulations.
A new sum rule determines the nucleon sigma term by the πN elastic scattering threshold parameters alone. This "threshold" value of σ(2μ^2) provides an independent check of existing values obtained from global dispersive analyses, and also provides a realistic error assignment. Employing a recent analysis of low energy (T_π< 100 MeV) πN data our sum rule implies σ(2μ^2) = 71\pm 9 MeV.
Properties of the three-nucleon bound state are examined in the Faddeev formalism, in which the quark-model nucleon-nucleon interaction is explicitly incorporated to calculate the off-shell T-matrix. The most recent version, fss2, of the Kyoto-Niigata quark-model potential yields the ground-state energy ^3H=-8.514 MeV in the 34 channel calculation, when the np interaction is used for the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The charge root mean square radii of the ^3H and ^3He are 1.72 fm and 1.90 fm, respectively, including the finite size correction of the nucleons. These values are the closest to t…
The status of our present knowledge on the antinucleon-nucleon interaction at low and medium energies is discussed. Special emphasis is put on aspects related to its spin dependence which are relevant for experiments planned by the PAX collaboration. Predictions for the spin-dependent antiproton-proton cross sections sigma_1 and sigma_2 are presented, utilizing antinucleon-nucleon potential models developed by the Juelich group, and compared to results based on the amplitudes of the Nijmegen partial-wave analysis.
The 3N forces due to pi-rho, pi-sigma and pi-omega exchanges following from the nucleon Born diagrams and diagrams with an intermediate N^{*}(1440) are re-analyzed. The cancellation between pi-sigma and pi-omega forces is rather sensitive to the values of the coupling constants and to the form of the piNN vertex. Experimental uncertainties in the parameters of the TM pi-pi potential are assessed. They lead to uncertainties in theoretical predictions of the triton binding energy of about 0.4 MeV. The low-energy limit of pi-sigma and pi-omega potentials is performed. It defines the coupling cons…
Treating the quark and diquark as elementary particles, the Bethe-Salpeter equation for the nucleon is solved numerically. The dependence of the mass on the diquark mass and on the coupling constants is investigated. The resulting relativistic quark-diquark-nucleon vertex is presented and discussed.
Through a quantitative comparative study of the properties of deuteron and nucleon-nucleon interaction with chiral quark model and quark delocalization color screening model. We show that the $σ$-meson exchange used in the chiral quark model can be replaced by quark delocalization and color screening mechanism.
We discuss the masses of the ground state baryon octet and the nucleon sigma terms in the framework of manifestly Lorentz-invariant baryon chiral perturbation theory. In order to obtain a consistent power counting for renormalized diagrams the extended on-mass-shell renormalization scheme is applied.
The quark-meson coupling model due to Guichon is formulated on the basis of the independent quark model of the nucleon proposed by Bogoliubov and is applied to a phenomenological description of symmetric nuclear matter. The model predicts, at saturation density, the compressibility $K=249$ MeV and the quark effective mass $m_q^*= 249.1$ MeV, {the effective nucleon mass being $M^*=747.3$ MeV}. The predicted nucleon mass radius is $r=0.93$ fm.
We calculate the variation of the chiral condensate in medium with respect to the quark chemical potential and evaluate the pion-nucleon sigma term via the Hellmann-Feynman theorem. The variation of chiral condensate in medium are obtained by solving the truncated Dyson-Schwinger equation for quark propagator at finite chemical potential, with different models for the quark-gluon vertex and gluon propagator. We obtain the value of the sigma term $σ_{πN}$ = 62(1)(2) MeV, where the first represents the systematic error due to our different model for the quark-gluon vertex and gluon propagator an…
We report on investigations of the applicability of non-relativistic constituent quark models to the low-energy nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction. The major innovations of a resulting NN potential are the use of the $^3$P$_0$ decay model and quark model wave functions to derive nucleon-nucleon-meson form-factors, and the use of a colored spin-spin contact hyperfine interaction to model the repulsive core rather than the phenomenological treatment common in other NN potentials. We present the results of the model for experimental free NN scattering phase shifts, S-wave scattering lengths and eff…
We present a discourse on the stages of discovery that have led to a deeper understanding of the role played by strange quarks in the structure of the nucleon.
The meson photoproductions off nucleons in the chiral quark model are described. The role of the S-wave resonances in the second resonance region is discussed, and it is particularly important for the Kaon, $η$ and $η'$ photoproductions.
The quark-meson coupling model due to Guichon is formulated on the basis of the independent quark model of the nucleon proposed by Bogoliubov and is applied to the phenomenological descriptions of symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter. For symmetric matter, the model predicts, at saturation density, the incompressibility $K=335.17$ MeV, the quark effective mass $m_q^*=238.5$ MeV, and the effective nucleon mass $M^*= 0.76 M,$ where $M$ is the nucleon mass in vacuum. Neutron star massesabove two solar masses are obtained.
By use of the resonating group method, the Delta K, Lambda K, and Sigma K states are further dynamically studied in the extended chiral SU(3) quark model based on our previous work. Similar to the results given by the original chiral SU(3) quark model, the calculated results here still show that the interactions of Delta K with isospin I=1 and Sigma K with isospin I=1/2 are attractive, which can consequently lead to Delta K and Sigma K quasibound states. When the channel coupling of Lambda K and Sigma K is considered, the calculated phase shifts show a sharp resonance between the thresholds of…
We upgrade a SU_6 quark-model description for the nucleon-nucleon and hyperon-nucleon interactions by improving the effective meson-exchange potentials acting between quarks. For the scalar- and vector-meson exchanges, the momentum-dependent higher-order term is incorporated to reduce the attractive effect of the central interaction at higher energies. The single-particle potentials of the nucleon and Lambda, predicted by the G-matrix calculation, now have proper repulsive behavior in the momentum region q_1=5 - 20 fm^-1. A moderate contribution of the spin-orbit interaction from the scalar-me…
The linear sigma model at finite temperature and chemical potential is systematically studied using the coherent-pair approximation, in which fully taking quantum of fields are included. The expectation value of the chiral Hamiltonian density is minimized and the resulting equations for the nucleon are solved. The qualitative features of the quantized sigma and pion fields are strong sensitive to the change of temperature and baryonic chemical potential and are in agreement with the mean-field approximation calculations. It is noticed that the nucleon mass increases with increasing coherence p…
We have reanalyzed the $π^{\pm} p$ scattering data at low energy in the Coulomb-nuclear interference region as measured by the CHAOS group at TRIUMF with the aim to determine the pion-nucleon $σ$ term. The resulting value $σ=(44\pm 12)$ MeV, while in agreement with lattice QCD calculations and compatible with other recent analyses, is significantly lower than that from the GWU-TRIUMF analysis of 2002.
The hyperon-nucleon interaction with the strangeness $S=-1$ region is complicated and difficult to investigate because its flavor sector involves all the irreducible representation except the flavor singlet and has the worst signal-to-noise ratio among the strangeness regions. In order to overcome such difficulties the content of this report is twofold: (i) We present an implementation of extended effective baryon block algorithm. This is a straightforward extension of the original which was reported in LATTICE 2013. (ii) We perform single channel analysis for the $ΛN$ system at nearly physica…
The pion-nucleon $σ$-term can be stringently constrained by the combination of analyticity, unitarity, and crossing symmetry with phenomenological information on the pion-nucleon scattering lengths. Recently, lattice calculations at the physical point have been reported that find lower values by about $3σ$ with respect to the phenomenological determination. We point out that a lattice measurement of the pion-nucleon scattering lengths could help resolve the situation by testing the values extracted from spectroscopy measurements in pionic atoms.
The pion-nucleon sigma term is a quantity involved in many important aspects of particle and nuclear physics. In this review I show its origin and how it is connected to important questions as the origin of mass of the ordinary matter, studies of dark matter detection and nucleosynthesis. I mention the most common methods used to obtain the sigma term, and comment on the extracted values. As it is shown, the accepted value of the sigma term has been moving from relatively low ($\sim 40$ MeV) to larger ones ($\sim 60$ MeV) until today, where this controversy still persist.
The pion-mass dependence of the nucleon mass within the covariant SU(2) baryon chiral perturbation theory both without and with explicit Delta(1232) degrees of freedom up to order p^4 is investigated. By fitting to lattice QCD data in 2 and 2+1 flavors from several collaborations, for pion masses M_pi < 420 MeV, we obtain low energy constants of natural size and compatible with pion nucleon scattering data. Our results are consistent with the rather linear pion-mass dependence showed by lattice QCD. In the 2 flavor case we have also performed simultaneous fits to the nucleon mass and pion-nucl…
In a previous paper virtual Compton scattering off the nucleon has been investigated in the one-loop approximation of the linear sigma model in order to determine the 3 scalar generalized polarizabilities. We have now extended this work and calculated the 7 vector polarizabilities showing up in the spin-dependent amplitude of virtual Compton scattering. The results fulfill 3 model-independent constraints recently derived. Compared to the constituent quark model there exist enormous differences for some of the vector polarizabilities. At vanishing three-momentum of the virtual photon, the analy…
We review the large-N_c approach to meson-baryon scattering, including recent interesting developments. We then study pion-nucleon scattering in a particular variant of the linear sigma-model, in which the couplings of the sigma and pi mesons to the nucleon are echoed by couplings to the entire tower of I=J baryons (including the Delta) as dictated by large-N_c group theory. We sum the complete set of multi-loop meson-exchange πN --> πN and πN --> σN Feynman diagrams, to leading order in 1/N_c. The key idea, reviewed in detail, is that large-N_c allows the approximation of LOOP graphs by TREE …
We investigate a linear sigma model with global chiral $U(2)_{R} \times U(2)_{L}$ symmetry. The mesonic degrees of freedom are the standard scalar and pseudoscalar mesons and the vector and axial-vector mesons. The baryonic degrees of freedom are the nucleon, $N$, and its chiral partner, $N^{*}$, which is usually identified with N(1535). The chiral partner is incorporated in the so-called mirror assignment, where the nucleon mass is not solely generated by the chiral condensate but also by a chirally invariant mass term, $m_{0}$. The presence of (axial-) vector fields modifies the expressions …
The value of $59 \pm 12$ MeV for the pion-nucleon ($πN$) $Σ$ term, which Stahov, Clement, and Wagner recently extracted from the differential cross sections (DCSs) of the CHAOS Collaboration, does not match well the expectation of an enhanced (more positive) isoscalar component in the $πN$ interaction at low energies, which the rest of the modern (meson-factory) data favour. However, we have already demonstrated that the angular distribution of the CHAOS $π^+ p$ DCSs is not compatible in shape with the rest of the modern low-energy $π^+ p$ data. This problem must be addressed and resolved by t…
We study the third order pion-nucleon scattering amplitude obtained from heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory inside the Mandelstam triangle. We reconstruct the pion-nucleon amplitude in the unphysical region by use of dispersion relations and determine the pertinent low-energy constants by a fit to this amplitude. A detailed comparison with values obtained from phase shift analysis is given. Our analysis leads to a pion-nucleon sigma-term of sigma(0) = 40 MeV based on the Karlsruhe partial wave analysis. We have repeated the same procedure using the latest solution of the VPI group and fin…
We study the bound nucleon sigma term and the quark condensate in nuclear matter. In the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model the nuclear correction to the sigma term is small and negative, i.e., it decelerates the decrease of the quark condensate in nuclear matter. However, the quark condensate in nuclear matter is controlled primarily by the scalar-isoscalar $σ$ field. Compared to the leading term, it moderates the decrease more than that of the nuclear sigma term alone at densities around and larger than the normal nuclear matter density.
A status report is given for a joint project of the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal collaboration and the Regensburg group to study the quark mass-dependence of octet baryons in SU(3) Baryon XPT. This formulation is expected to extend to larger masses than Heavy-Baryon XPT. Its applicability is tested with 2+1 flavor data which cover three lattice spacings and pion masses down to about 190 MeV, in large volumes. Also polynomial and rational interpolations in M_π^2 and M_K^2 are used to assess the uncertainty due to the ansatz. Both frameworks are combined to explore the precision to be expected i…
We study the mechanism of the associated Lambda-kaon and Sigma-kaon production in nucleon-nucleon collisions over an extended range of near threshold beam energies within an effective Lagrangian model, to understand of the new data on pp --> p Lambda K+ and pp --> p Sigma0 K+ reactions published recently by the COSY-11 collaboration. In this theory, the hyperon production proceeds via the excitation of N*(1650), N*(1710), and N*(1720) baryonic resonances. Interplay of the relative contributions of various resonances to the cross sections, is discussed as a function of the beam energy over a la…
We present an overview of modern approaches to low-energy baryon structure based on baryon chiral perturbation theory. These are driven by the emergence of Lorentz covariant schemes and the systematic consideration of the effects of the lowest-lying decuplet resonances. In order to illustrate the progress recently achieved in this field, we present the last developments on our understanding of the nucleon sigma terms along these lines. In particular, we will show how these methods, in SU(2) or SU(3) settings, are reliable tools to process and maximize the information on the physical structure …
