Coupled-channel scattering in 1+1 dimensional lattice model

Based on the Lippmann-Schwinger equation approach, a generalized Lüscher's formula in 1+1 dimensions for two particles scattering in both the elastic and coupled-channel cases in moving frames is derived. A 2D coupled-channel scattering lattice model is presented, the model represents a two-coupled-channel resonant scattering scalars system. The Monte Carlo simulation is performed on finite lattices and in various moving frames. The 2D generalized Lüscher's formula is used to extract the scattering amplitudes for the coupled-channel system from the discrete finite-volume spectrum.

The coupled-channel scattering on a torus

Based on the Hamiltonian formalism approach, a generalized Lüscher's formula for two particle scattering in both the elastic and coupled-channel cases in moving frames is derived from a relativistic Lippmann-Schwinger equation. Some strategies for extracting scattering amplitudes for a coupled-channel system from the discrete finite-volume spectrum are discussed and illustrated with a toy model of two-channel resonant scattering. This formalism will, in the near future, be used to extract information about hadron scattering from lattice QCD computations.

Resonances in Coupled-Channel Scattering

Excited hadrons are seen as resonances in the scattering of lighter stable hadrons like $π$, $K$ and $η$. Many decay into multiple final states necessitating coupled-channel analyses. Singlet channel scattering in a Composite Higgs model on the lattice

We present the first calculation of the scattering amplitude in the singlet channel beyond QCD. The calculation is performed in $SU(2)$ gauge theory with $N_f=2$ fundamental Dirac fermions and based on a finite-volume scattering formalism. The theory exhibits a $SU(4) \to Sp(4)$ chiral symmetry breaking pattern that is used to design minimal composite Higgs models currently tested at the LHC. Our results show that, for the range of underlying fermion mass considered, the lowest flavour singlet state is stable.

Dynamical coupled-channel approaches on a momentum lattice

Dynamical coupled-channel approaches are a widely used tool in hadronic physics that allow to analyze different reactions and partial waves in a consistent way. In such approaches the basic interactions are derived within an effective Lagrangian framework and the resulting pseudo-potentials are then unitarized in a coupled-channel scattering equation. Exclusive open-charm near-threshold cross sections in a coupled-channel approach

Data on open-charm channels collected by the Belle Collaboration are analysed simultaneously using a unitary approach based on a coupled-channel model in a wide energy range $\sqrt{s}=3.7÷4.7$ GeV. The resulting fit provides a remarkably good overall description of the line shapes in all studied channels. Parameters of 5 vector charmonium resonances are extracted from the fit.

The Lüscher scattering formalism on the $t$-channel cut

The Lüscher scattering formalism, the standard approach for relating the discrete finite-volume energy spectrum to two-to-two scattering amplitudes, fails when analytically continued so far below the infinite-volume two-particle threshold that one encounters the $t$-channel cut. Two Particle States and the $S$-matrix Elements in Multi-channel Scattering

Using a quantum mechanical model, the exact energy eigenstates for two-particle two-channel scattering are studied in a cubic box with periodic boundary conditions in all three directions. A relation between the exact energy eigenvalue in the box and the two-channel $S$-matrix elements in the continuum is obtained. This result can be viewed as a generalization of the well-known Lüscher's formula which establishes a similar relation in elastic scattering.

Generalized Lüscher Formula in Multi-channel Baryon-Meson Scattering

Lüscher's formula relates the elastic scattering phase shifts to the two-particle energy levels in a finite cubic box.
