We compute the muon to electron conversion in the type-I seesaw model, as a function of the right-handed neutrino mixings and masses. The results are compared with previous computations in the literature. We determine the definite predictions resulting for the ratios between the muon to electron conversion rate for a given nucleus and the rate of two other processes which also involve a mu-e flavour transition: mu -> e gamma and mu -> eee. For a quasi-degenerate mass spectrum of right-handed neutrino masses -which is the most natural scenario leading to observable rates- those ratios depend only on the seesaw mass scale, offering a quite interesting testing ground. In the case of sterile neutrinos heavier than the electroweak scale, these ratios vanish typically for a mass scale of order a few TeV. Furthermore, the analysis performed here is also valid down to very light masses. It turns out that planned mu -> e conversion experiments would be sensitive to masses as low as 2 MeV. Taking into account other experimental constraints, we show that future mu -> e conversion experiments will be fully relevant to detect or constrain sterile neutrino scenarios in the 2 GeV-1000 TeV mass range.
The reported discrepancy of the muon abnormal magnetic moment $a_μ^{}$ has impacts on the low energy phenomenology. In this paper we calculate the corrections to $a_μ$ in the standard model extended by the TeV scale seesaw models. We show that the correction induced by the type-I seesaw model is negative and of the order ${\cal O} (10^{-11})$, which can be neglected compared with $a_μ^{\rm SM}$. The correction induced by the type-II seesaw model, which depends on the mass of the Higgs triplet $m_Δ$ and the Yukawa coupling $Y_Δ$, can be of the order ${\cal O}(10^{-10})$ and compensate for the d…
We propose a model for the vector-like lepton to explain the small muon mass by a seesaw mechanism, based on lepton-specific two Higgs doublet models with a local $U(1)'$ symmetry. There is no bare muon mass for a nonzero $U(1)'$ charge of the leptophilic Higgs doublet, so the physical muon mass is generated due to the mixing between the vector-like lepton and the muon after the leptophilic Higgs doublet and the dark Higgs get VEVs. In this scenario, the non-decoupling effects of the vector-like lepton give rise to leading contributions to the muon $g-2$, thanks to the light $Z'$ and the light…
Motivated by the tension between the Higgs mass and muon g-2 in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we analyze the muon g-2 in supersymmertic B-L extension of the standard model (BLSSM) with inverse seesaw mechanism. In this model, the Higgs mass receives extra important radiative corrections proportional to large neutrino Yukawa coupling. We point out that muon g-2 also gets significant contribution, due to the constructive interferences of light neutralino effects. The light neutralinos are typically the MSSM Bino like and the supersymmetric partner of U(1)_B-L gauge boson (B'-ino)…
Since the heavy neutrinos of the inverse seesaw mechanism mix largely with the standard ones, the charged currents formed with them and the muons have the potential of generating robust and positive contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Ho\-we\-ver, bounds from the non-unitary in the leptonic mixing matrix may restrict so severely the parameters of the mechanism that, depending on the framework under which the mechanism is implemented, may render it unable to explain the recent muon g-2 result. In this paper we show that this happens when we implement the mechanism into th…
We study the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, a_μ, and lepton flavor violating decay μ-> e γin TeV scale B-L extension of the Standard Model (SM) with inverse seesaw mechanism. We show that the B-L contributions to a_μare severely constrained, therefore the SM contribution remains intact. We also emphasize that the current experimental limit of BR(μ-> e γ) can be satisfied for a wide range of parameter space and it can be within the reach of MEG experiment.
We study the effect of the Higgs-exchange diagram for the lepton flavor violating muon-electron conversion process in nuclei in the supersymmetric seesaw model. The contribution is significant for a large value of tan beta and a small value of a neutral heavy Higgs boson mass, in which case the ratio of the branching ratios of B(mu N -> e N) / B(mu -> e gamma) is enhanced. We also show that the target atom dependence of the conversion branching ratio provides information on the size of the Higgs exchange diagram.
The present work investigates the possibility that both dark matter and the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon may be explained within the context of the inverse seesaw extended Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (ISS-NMSSM). In ISS-NMSSM, the newly introduced Higgs-neutrino Yukawa coupling $Y_ν$ provides additional Higgsino-sneutrino loop contribution to $(g-2)_μ$. If the deviation between the experimental observations and the Standard Model predictions of the anomalous muon magnetic moment is confirmed by the further experimental and theoretical studies, it can be explained nat…
We investigate the possibility of explanation for the muon anomalous magnetic moment $g_μ-2$ in a left-right model with an inverse seesaw mechanism. We emphasize that the observed deviation from the Standard Model predictions can be accommodated in a large part of the parameter space of this class of models, where loops with massive neutrinos and charged Higgs boson as well as the weak $W$ boson contribute significantly to $g_μ-2$. Stringent constraints due to lepton flavor violation $μ\to{e}γ$, $μ$-${e}$~conversion and the electron anomalous magnetic moment $g_e-2$ are considered, and the res…
Here we review the main results of LFV in the semileptonic tau decays $τ\to μPP$ ($PP = π^+ π^-, π^0 π^0, K^+ K^-, K^0 \bar{K}^0$), $τ\to μP$ ($P = π, η, η^{\prime}$), and $τ\to μV$ ($V = ρ, ϕ$) as well as in $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei within SUSY-seesaw scenarios, and compare our predictions with the present experimental bounds
The aim of the work is to study LFV in a newly proposed Seesaw model of neutrino mass and to see whether it could explain LSND excess. The motivation of this Seesaw model was that there was no new physics beyond the TeV scale. By studying μ\to 3e in this model, it is shown that the upper bound on the branching ratio requires Higgs mass m_{h} of a new scalar doublet with lepton number L=-1 needed in the model has to be about 9 TeV. The predicted branching ratio for μ\to eν_{l}\barν_{l} is too small to explain the LSND. PACS: 11.30.Hv, 14.60.Pq
The latest measurements of the anomalous muon magnetic moment $a^{}_μ\equiv (g^{}_μ- 2)/2$ show a $4.2σ$ discrepancy between the theoretical prediction of the Standard Model and the experimental observations. In order to account for such a discrepancy, we consider a possible extension of the type-(I+II) seesaw model for neutrino mass generation with a gauged $L^{}_μ- L^{}_τ$ symmetry. By explicitly constructing an economical model with only one extra scalar singlet, we demonstrate that the gauge symmetry $U(1)^{}_{L^{}_μ- L^{}_τ}$ and its spontaneous breaking are crucially important not only f…
The recent precise measurement of the $W$-mass by the CDF II collaboration is indicative of new physics beyond the Standard Model. On the other hand, a resolution of the longstanding muon $g-2$ anomaly also calls for additional dynamics. In this work, we accommodate the two aforementioned anomalies in an extension of the minimal Type-II seesaw model. That is, the minimal Type-II model is augmented with an additional doubly charged scalar and vector leptons. While a chirality-flip of the vector leptons can predict the observed value of muon $g-2$, the value of the recently reported $W$-mass can…
We study the search potential of heavy triplet leptons in Type III Seesaw mechanism at future high-energy and high-luminosity muon colliders. The impact of up-to-date neutrino oscillation results is taken into account on neutrino parameters and the consequent decay patterns of heavy leptons in Type III Seesaw. The three heavy leptons in the Casas-Ibarra parametrization with diagonal unity matrix are distinguishable in their decay modes. We consider the pair production of charged triplet leptons $E^+ E^-$ through both $μ^+μ^-$ annihilation and vector boson fusion (VBF) processes. The leading-or…
The recently improved observation of the fine structure constant has led to a negative $2.4σ$ anomaly of electron $g-2$. Combined with the long-existing positive $4.2σ$ discrepancy of the muon anomalous magnetic moment, it is interesting and difficult to explain these two anomalies with a consistent model without introducing flavor violations. We show that they can be simultaneously explained in the inverse seesaw extended next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (ISS-NMSSM) by the Higgsino--sneutrino contributions to $(g-2)_e$ and $(g-2)_μ$. The spectrum features prefer light $μ$, which …
In these proceedings we present the results for lepton flavour violating tau and muon decays within the SUSY seesaw scenario. Specifically, we consider the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model extended by three right handed neutrinos, $ν_{R_i}$ and their corresponding SUSY partners, ${\tilde ν}_{R_i}$, ($i=1,2,3$), and use the seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass generation. We include the predictions for the branching ratios of two types of lepton flavour violating channels, $l_j \to ł_i γ$ and $l_j \to 3 l_i$, and compare them with the present bounds and future experimental sensit…
There has been a long-standing discrepancy between the experimental measurements of the electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments and their predicted values in the Standard Model. This is particularly relevant in the case of the muon $g-2$, which has attracted a remarkable interest in the community after the long-awaited announcement of the first results by the Muon $g-2$ collaboration at Fermilab, which confirms a previous measurement by the E821 experiment at Brookhaven and enlarges the statistical significance of the discrepancy, now at $4.2 σ$. In this paper we consider an extension of …
A non-universal anomaly free $U(1)_{X}$ extension to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, consisting of four scalar doublets, four scalar singlets and additional quark and lepton singlets including right-handed and Majorana neutrinos, is used to determine the contributions to the electron and muon Electric Dipole Moment. The additional CP violation sources come from the lepton sector, where neutrino masses are explained by an Inverse Seesaw Mechanism and the CP violating phase of the PMNS matrix generates complex interactions that involves exotic neutrino and sneutrino mass eigenstates. …
We explore the low scale implications of the Pati-Salam Model including the TeV scale right-handed neutrinos interacting and mixing with the MSSM fields through the inverse seesaw (IS) mechanism in the light of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) resolution, and highlight the solutions which are compatible with the Quasi-Yukawa Unification condition (QYU). We find that the presence of the right-handed neutrinos causes heavy smuons >~ 800 GeV in order to avoid tachyonic staus at the low scale. On the other hand, the sneutrinos can be as light as about 100 GeV along with the light char…
We discuss a mechanism where charged lepton masses are derived from one-loop diagrams mediated by particles in a dark sector including a dark matter candidate. We focus on a scenario where the muon and electron masses are generated at one loop with new ${\cal O}(1)$ Yukawa couplings. The measured muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, $(g-2)_μ$, can be explained in this framework. As an important prediction, the muon and electron Yukawa couplings can largely deviate from their standard model predictions, and such deviations can be tested at High-Luminosity LHC and future $e^+e^-$ colliders.
The measured values for the mixture angles in neutrino oscillations suggest the existence of a symmetry of interchange of flavor between muon and tau neutrinos. Using this symmetry we analyzed the minimal seesaw model for neutrino masses, where the Majorana mass was diagonalized, and it is demonstrated that the model supports at most 3 CP violation phases and 5 real masses at high energies. Nevertheless, at low energies, only 4 parameters of mass and one relative Majorana CP phase remain. Therefore using the experimental values of the masses square differences, the mixture angles and the hiera…
We propose a predictive $Q_4$ flavored 2HDM model, where the scalar sector is enlarged by the inclusion of several gauge singlet scalars and the fermion sector by the inclusion of right handed Majorana neutrinos. In our model, the $Q_4$ family symmetry is supplemented by several auxiliary cyclic symmetries, whose spontaneous breaking produces the observed pattern of SM charged fermion masses and quark mixing angles. The light active neutrino masses are generated from an inverse seesaw mechanism at one loop level thanks to a remnant preserved $Z_2$ symmetry. Our model succesfully reproduces the…
We propose a $B-L$ model combined with the $S_4\times Z_3\times Z_4$ discrete symmetry which successfully explains the recent $3+1$ sterile - active neutrino data. The smallness of neutrino mass is obtained through the type-I seesaw mechanism. The active-active and sterile-active neutrino mixing angles are predicted to be consistent with the recent constraints in which $0.3401\, (0.3402) \leq \sin^2θ_{12}\leq 0.3415\, (0.3416), \, 0.456\, (0.433) \leq \sin^2θ_{23}\leq 0.544\, (0.545), \, 2.00\, (2.018) \leq 10^2\times \sin^2θ_{13}\leq 2.405\, (2.424),\,\, 156 \, (140.8) \leq δ^{(\circ)}_{CP}\l…
We investigate nuclear mu-e conversion in the framework of an effective Lagrangian arising from the inverse seesaw model of neutrino masses. We consider lepton flavour violation interactions that arise from short range (non-photonic) as well as long range (photonic) contributions. Upper bounds for the LFV parameters characterizing mu-e conversion are derived in the inverse seesaw model Lagrangian using the available limits on the mu-e conversion branching ratio, as well as the expected sensitivities of upcoming experiments. We comment on the relative importance of these two types of contributi…
In this paper we study $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei within the context of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, enlarged by three right handed neutrinos and their supersymmetric partners, and where the neutrino masses are generated via a seesaw mechanism. Two different scenarios with either universal or non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking Higgs masses at the gauge coupling unification scale are considered. In the first part we present a complete one-loop computation of the conversion rate for this process that includes the photon-, $Z$-boson, and Higgs-boson penguins, as w…
A detailed study of the muonic analogue of neutrinoless double beta decay, (muon^-,muon^+) conversion, has been carried out for the A=44 nuclear system. We studied several lepton number violating (LNV) mechanisms potentially triggering this process: exchange by light and heavy Majorana neutrinos as well as exchange by supersymmetric particles participating in R-parity violating interactions. The nuclear structure has been taken into account within the renormalized Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation method. To our knowledge, this is the first realistic treatment of nuclear structure aspec…
The recent experimental results including $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$, $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$, $(g-2)_μ$ and $W$ mass show deviations from the standard model (SM) predictions, implying the clues of new physics (NP). In this work, we investigate the explanations of these anomalies in the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (RPV-MSSM) extended with the inverse seesaw mechanism. The non-unitarity extent $η_{ee}$ and the loop corrections from the interaction $λ'\hat L \hat Q \hat D$ are utilized to raise the prediction of $W$ mass through muon decays. We also find that the interaction $λ'\ha…
Motivated by the recent muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2) measurement at FERMILAB and non-zero neutrino masses, we propose a model based on the $SU(3)_C \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X$ (3-3-1) gauge symmetry. The most popular 3-3-1 models in the literature require the presence of a scalar sextet to address neutrino masses. In our work, we show that we can successfully implement an one-loop linear seesaw mechanism with right-handed neutrinos, and vector-like fermions to nicely explain the active neutrino masses, and additionally reproduce the recent Muon g-2 result, in agreement with existing …
Transition rates for coherent muon-electron conversion in muonic atoms, mu+N --> e+N, are computed for various types of muon number violating interactions. Attention is paid to relativistic atomic effects, Coulomb distortion, finite nuclear size, and nucleon distributions. Discrepancies with previously published results are pointed out and explained. Results are presented for several elements of current and future experimental interest.
Muon-electron conversion in nuclei is considered in the framework of the Dualized Standard Model. The ratio $B_{μ-e}$ of the conversion rate to the total muon capture rate is derived, and computed for several nuclei in a parameter-free calculation using parameters previously determined in different physical contexts. The values obtained all lie within the present experimental bounds, but some are so close as to seem readily accessible to experiments already being planned. Similar considerations are applied also to muon-electron conversion in muonium but give rates many orders of magnitude belo…
In this article, we explore the possibility of displaced Higgs production from the decays of the heavy fermions in the Type-III seesaw extension of the Standard Model at the LHC/FCC and the muon collider. The displaced heavy fermions and the Higgs boson can be traced back by measuring the displaced charged tracks of the charged leptons along with the $b$-jets. A very small Yukawa coupling can lead to two successive displaced decays which makes the phenomenology even more interesting. The prospects of the transverse and longitudinal displaced decay lengths are extensively studied in the context…
We study the two-Higgs-doublet model with type-II seesaw mechanism. In view of constraints from the Higgs data, we consider the aligned two-Higgs-doublet scheme and its effects on muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, $a_μ$, including both one-loop and two-loop Barr-Zee type diagrams. Thanks to a sizable trilinear scalar coupling, the Barr-Zee type diagrams mediated by the Higgs triplet fields have a dominant effect on $a_μ$. In particular, unlike the usual two-Higgs-doublet models that require exotic Higgs bosons light in mass, the masses of the corresponding particles in the model are of ${…
The electric dipole moment of the muon (d_mu) is evaluated in supersymmetric models with nonzero neutrino masses and large neutrino mixing arising from the seesaw mechanism. It is found that if the seesaw mechanism is embedded in the framework of a left-right symmetric gauge structure, the interactions responsible for the right-handed neutrino Majorana masses lead to an enhancement in d_mu. We find d_mu as large as 5. 10^{-23} ecm with a correlated value of (g-2) = 13. 10^{-10}, even for low values of tan beta. This should provide a strong motivation for improving the edm of the muon to the le…
We study the lepton number violating muon-positron conversion in nuclei mediated by the exchange of virtual light Majorana neutrinos. We found that a previously overlooked imaginary part of this amplitude plays an important role. The numerical calculation has been made for the experimentally interesting muon-positron conversion in Ti48 using realistic renormalized proton-neutron QRPA wave functions. We also discuss the very similar case of the neutrinoless double beta decay of Ca48 The ratio of muon-positron conversion over the total muon absorption has been computed taking into account the cu…
We study a new supersymmetric mechanism for lepton flavour violation in muon and tau decays and muon -> e conversion in nuclei, within a minimal extension of the MSSM with low-mass heavy singlet neutrinos and sneutrinos. We find that the decays mu -> e gamma, tau -> e gamma and tau -> mu gamma are forbidden in the supersymmetric limit of the theory, whereas other processes, such as mu -> eee, mu -> e conversion, tau -> eee and tau -> e mu mu, are allowed and can be dramatically enhanced several orders of magnitude above the observable level by potentially large neutrino Yukawa coupling effects…
In a supersymmetric extension of the standard model with local gauged baryon and lepton numbers (BLMSSM), there are new sources for lepton flavor violation, because the right-handed neutrinos, new gauginos and Higgs are introduced. We investigate muon conversion to electron in nuclei within the BLMSSM in detail. The numerical results indicate that the $μ\rightarrow e $ conversion rates in nuclei within the BLMSSM can reach the experimental upper bound, which may be detected in the future experiments.
The recent experimental results on neutrino oscillation and on muonium-antimuonium conversion require extension of the minimal 3-3-1 model. We review the constraints imposed to the model by those measurements and suggest a pattern of leptonic mixing, with charged leptons in a non-diagonal basis, which accounts for the neutrino physics and circumvents the tight muonium-antimuonium bounds on the model. We also illustrate a scenario where this pattern could be realized.
The coherent muon-electron conversion rates in various nuclei are calculated for general lepton flavor violating interactions. We solve the Dirac equations numerically for the initial state muon and the final state electron in the Coulomb force, and perform the overlap integrals between the wave functions and the nucleon densities. The results indicate that the conversion branching ratio increases for a light nucleus up to the atomic number Z ~ 30, is largest for Z = 30 -- 60, and becomes smaller for a heavy nucleus with Z > (~ 60). We also discuss the uncertainty from the input proton and neu…
We calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of leptons in the type-I and type-III seesaw models. We show that, even if the scale of the new physics is pushed down to the electroweak scale, this contribution is not large enough to explain the measured discrepancy of the muon anomalous magnetic moment.
We study one-loop induced radiative seesaw model applying a modular $A_4$ flavor symmetry, in which the neutrino mass matrix is achieved by two different Yukawa couplings one of which also contributes to positive value of muon anomalous magnetic moment as well as lepton flavor violations. Thanks to the specific mass matrix via $A_4$ symmetry and its modular weight, we find several predictions for lepton sector through our numerical analysis.
We study the $μ$-$e$ conversion in muonic atoms via an exchange of family gauge boson (FGB) $A_{2}^{\ 1}$ in a $U(3)$ FGB model. Within the class of FGB model, we consider three types of family-number assignments for quarks. We evaluate the $μ$-$e$ conversion rate for various target nuclei, and find that next generation $μ$-$e$ conversion search experiments can cover entire energy scale of the model for all of types of the quark family-number assignments. We show that the conversion rate in the model is so sensitive to up- and down-quark mixing matrices, $U^{u}$ and $U^{d}$, where the CKM matr…
The muon-to-electron conversion in nuclei like aluminum, titanium and gold is studied in the context of a class of mirror fermion model with non-sterile right-handed neutrinos having mass at the electroweak scale. At the limit of zero momentum transfer and large mirror lepton masses, we derive a simple formula to relate the conversion rate with the on-shell radiative decay rate of muon into electron. Current experimental limits (SINDRUM II) and projected sensitivities (Mu2e, COMET and PRISM) for the muon-to-electron conversion rates in various nuclei and latest limit from MEG for the radiative…
We study lepton flavor violation (LFV) within the Littlest Higgs Model with T parity (LHT) realizing an inverse seesaw (ISS) mechanism of type I. With respect to the traditional LHT, there appear new $\mathcal{O}$(\textcolor{black}{10} TeV) Majorana neutrinos, driving LFV. For $τ\to\ell\ell'\bar{\ell}"$ (including wrong-sign, $\ell=e, μ$) decays and $μ\to e$ conversion in Ti, we get typical rates only one order of magnitude below present bounds ($\ell\to\ell'γ$ can reach the current upper limit) and for $Z\to\barτ\ell$, $μ\to e e \bar{e}$ and conversion in Au, results are within two orders of …
Within framework of the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM), three exotic right-handed neutrino superfields induce new sources for lepton-flavor violation. In this work, we investigate muon conversion to electron in nuclei within the $μν$SSM in detail. With a 125 GeV Higgs, the numerical results indicate that the $μ-e$ conversion rates in nuclei within the $μν$SSM can reach the experimental upper bound, which could be detected with the future experimental sensitivities.
A recent update from MiniBooNE has strengthened the observed $4.8σ$ excess of $e$-like events. Motivated by this and other notable deviations from standard model predictions, such as the muon $(g-2)$, we propose a solution to low energy anomalies through a dark neutrino sector. The model is renormalizable and can also explain light neutrino masses with an anomaly-free and dark $U(1)^\prime$ gauge symmetry broken at the GeV scale. Large kinetic mixing leads to s-channel production of heavy neutral leptons at $e^+e^-$ colliders, where we point out and explain a $\gtrsim 2σ$ excess observed in th…
We analyze the lepton flavor violation processes $μ-e$ conversion, $l_i\rightarrow l_jγ$ and $l_i\rightarrow 3l_j$ in framework of the Standard Model (SM) extended with inverse seesaw mechanism, as a function of $\tildeη = 1 -|Det(\tilde {U}_{PMNS})|$ that parameterizes the departure from unitary of the light neutrino mixing sub-matrix $\tilde {U}_{PMNS}$. In a wide range of $\tildeη$, the predictions on the $μ-e$ conversion rates and the branching ratio of $μ\rightarrow eγ$ are sizeable to be compatible with the experimental upper limits or future experimental sensitivities. For large scale o…
We have determined in detail the electron spectrum in the decay of bound muons. These results are especially relevant for the upcoming muon-electron conversion experiments.
In this work the following lepton flavor violating $τ$ and $μ$ decays are studied: $τ^- \to μ^- μ^- μ^+$, $τ^- \to e^- e^- e^+$, $μ^- \to e^- e^- e^+$, $τ^- \to μ^- γ$, $τ^- \to e^- γ$ and $μ^- \to e^- γ$. We work in a constrained supersymmetric scenario with universal soft breaking terms and where the MSSM particle content is extended by the addition of three heavy right handed Majorana neutrinos and their supersymmetric partners. The generation of neutrino masses is done via the seesaw mechanism. We analize all these lepton flavor violating decays in terms of the relevant input parameters, w…
We study the RH neutrino properties from the low energy neutrino data in the seesaw mechanism. Reonance behavior is found for the right-handed (RH) mixing angle as a function of light neutrino mass ratios in two favored region of the solar neutrino problem and, at the resonance point, the two corresponding RH Majorana neutrino masses are degenerate. This phenomenon is similar with that in the matter-enhanced conversion of neutrinos. The physical significance it infers for the electron neutrino mass and other neutrino parameters is discussed.
In general, attempts to extend the standard model will include extra gauge structure. We parameterize string and technicolor models for a Z' boson with primitive lepton flavor violating interactions. Calculations for its muon conversion rate (mu N -> e N) on Titanium are made and used to show the potential of forthcoming experiments MECO at Brookhaven National Laboratory and PRIME at the Japan Hadron Facility (to be renamed). For reasonable choices of parameters, such U(1) bosons with masses the order 10 TeV and mu-e Z' charge as low as ~10^-5 are demonstrated to be accessible for MECO and PRI…
We propose a low scale renormalizable left-right symmetric theory that successfully explains the observed SM fermion mass hierarchy, the tiny values for the light active neutrino masses and is consistent with the lepton and baryon asymmetries of the Universe, the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments as well as the with the constraints arising from the meson oscillations. In the proposed model the top and exotic quarks obtain masses at tree level, whereas the masses of the bottom, charm and strange quarks, tau and muon leptons are generated from a tree level Universal Seesaw mechanism, …
We study the lepton electric dipole moments in the framework of the supersymmetric type II seesaw model where the exchange of heavy SU(2)_W triplets generates small neutrino masses. We show that the CP violating phase of the bilinear soft supersymmetry breaking term associated with the SU(2)_W triplets contributes to lepton electric dipole moments mainly through threshold corrections to the gaugino masses at the seesaw scale. As a consequence, the ratio of the electric dipole moments of the muon and the electron is the same as the ratio of their masses in a wide region of parameter space.
We present an estimate of the electron to muon conversion cross section in fixed-target elastic electron scattering. The matrix element $<μ| j_\mathrm{em}^μ(0) | e>$ is calculated analytically in two scenarios introducing suitable approximations. We consider on the one hand side the case of three light Dirac neutrinos with CKM-type leptonic mixing and on the other hand a typical see-saw scenario. We evaluate the coulombic contribution to the scattering cross section in the limit of vanishing energy transfer to the nucleus and, thus, obtain a realistic estimate for the total conversion cross se…
The non-photonic neutrino exchange mechanism of the lepton flavor violating muon-electron conversion in nuclei is revisited. First we determine the nucleon coupling constants for the neutrino exchange mechanism in a relativistic quark model taking into account quark confinement and chiral symmetry requirements. This includes a new, previously overlooked tree-level contribution from neutrino exchange between two quarks in the same nucleon. Then for the case of an additional sterile neutrino we reconsider the coherent mode of this process. The presence of a mixed sterile-active neutrino state he…

We propose a new type of radiative neutrino model with global hidden $U(1)$ symmetry, in which neutrino masses are induced at the four loop level. Then we discuss the muon anomalous magnetic moment to solve the discrepancy between observation and the standard model prediction, and estimate the relic density of a fermion or boson DM candidate in the model. We also discuss the diphoton resonance $R$ by considering a process $pp \to R \to γγ$ as a possible signal of our model.
